I have verizon for service. It seems whenever I run a custom rom on this phone, Data works, but SMS and phone calls don't. Also, after about 10 minutes of it being connected, all connectivity to the network ceases
On stock rom this isn't an issue.
Edit:
Enable Wi-Fi calling, wait a moment, then disable it again.
This may not be helpful at all, but you might need to check your APN settings, or set them manually:

Just like the title say, what Rom are you running using Verizon LG G2 and if you are running T-Mobile Rom please leave more info about what works and what's not (looking for a tmobile Rom for my vs980 as well.
I'm running ROM : Malladus 2.0.2
With out any changes
So far everything works fine 4G LTE few drops in some areas but that is normal I guess. SMS,MMS and calls works (using hangouts for txt and mms I just like it better than stock.
I'm on JackpotClavin's 24A-based CM11, and it is pristine.

I just switched from Verizon to T-Mobile this week with my VS980.
I've been able to get the phone setup and working mostly.
I'm picking up LTE, but it's slowish. Usually only picking up 1 or 2 bars and tot more than 12 mbps down/1 mbps up according to Speedtest, though that might just be my area. I'm in a larger city but still in the Midwest.I can make/receive calls just fine. I can send and receive MOST texts. Some text messages/calls I'm not receiving. Specifically, I have my online bank account setup to require a code which the bank sends via text message or call and my phone does not receive either, even though I'm getting texts/calls from other sources. This is actually kind of a big pain for me and if anyone could help me solve it I would be most appreciative.
I'm running CM 11 nightly. I did flash the 12b radio. I haven't tried the 24A radio yet.
Preferred Network is T-Mobile, although I've had the phone search networks a couple different times and there is always 3 T-Mobile networks listed and I'm really not sure if there is a difference or if there is a specific one I should be selecting since there is no way to differentiate them.

stock jellybean?
think it's unlikely an apn issue
my full apn file made with APN Backup & Restore

is LTE/CDMA/EvDo selected?
Just checked and LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) was what it was on. LTE/CDMA auto (PRL) is the closest.
It seems that every time the APN will reset to EHRPD - Verizon Internet. If I try to select the LTE internet option it doesn't even pick up a data signal, and then goes back to EHRPD.
im using CM11 M9 and i have my network type set to

a few notes for me: whenever i try to switch to CDMA/EvDo auto (3g) it doesnt connect to data until i turn on wifi or set airplane mode for at least 30 minutes then re-enable the radio. if the connection drops for whatever reason i have to redo this step so im better off leaving LTE on all the time because its way more reliable than 3g which is really weird in my opinion and im not sure if its the rom that causes the problem since i installed cm11 as soon as i got this phone
So should I try to set that APN and then put it in airplane mode for an hour or so?

I updated my phone to Lollipop and now I have no mobile data, and it now always says "HOME" under the signal bars, and has an exclamation point to the right of the signal bars, I can make and receive calls however.
I have tried:
Deleting my APN and typing in a new one.
Used the "Network operators" to select a network, - it shows "HOME" and "AT&T", I have tried both, and "Choose automatically".
Removing my sim card, both rebooting with out a sim, and removing the sim and re-inserting with the phone running.
Removing my SD card, and rebooting with it removed.
Wiping the cache.
Factory reset.
Reboot in safe mode.
My boot loader is locked, no root, and I use Straight Talk.
This post lists the steps I took to update to Lollipop, as I had a Consumer Cellular version of the Moto G 2014.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59470751&postcount=114
Is there anyway to fix this without unlocking the boot loader?
If I have to unlock the boot loader, what steps would fix the problem?
Thanks.
I needed a working phone for today, and decided to unlock my bootloader and install a ROM, I decided on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/rom-titan-prime-romversion-1-0-beta-t3048786
unfortunately the problem remains, so what now?
I am thinking I may have to go back to KitKat
Are you absolutely sure you have the APN right? I have an XT1064 with Consumer Cellular on AT&T's network. I'm running Titan Rom Lollipop and I was having similar problems until I fixed the APN. Also, I've never even had to look at Network Operators setting to get data.

I got it fixed today, by changing the APN, but here is the strange thing, the APN I was using on the phone when I still had the Consumer Cellular KitKat ROM was this:

Name: straight talk
APN: tfdata

MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
MMS Proxy: mms3.tracfone.com

and it was working, I had mobile data and was able to send and receive texts.
But after the update to Lollipop that APN never worked again, now I am using this:

Name: straight talk
APN: ATT.MVNO
Server: att.mvno
MMSC: hrrp://mmmsc.cingular.com

I checked with Straight Talk and the settings I am using now are the correct ones for my phone number

That's the APN I've always used. CC gave me 2 APN'S once, one for Data and one for MMS which I promptly ignored and combined both into one.

I had got the phone from eBay, and did a factory restore before I used it, and then installed my Straight Talk SIM and finished setting up the phone and replaced the "TFDATA" default APN with the Straight Talk APN, I did notice both APNs looked the same except the for name, I had believed at the time that the reason why both APNs were the same was that somehow the APN was stored on the SIM and recovered by the phone.
Yep, it looks like the APN I had to switch to seems to be almost exactly the same as Consumer Cellular's APN

data is always enabled and I connect to wifi at home and work. If connected to wifi pictures will not send/receive and I have to disable wifi to make them go.
I don't care that they use data, though itd be nice to send/receive mms via wifi, i just want to be able to get pictures without manually shutting off wifi -every time- someone sends me a picture
any tips? this isn't normal for this phone is it? I could swear it wasn't doing this a month ago
Did you try going into stock recovery and doing a factory reset
Sent from my SM-G920T using XDA Free mobile app
I'm trying not to do a reset because I don't want to go through the backup process for everything, it takes a while to get my phone setup the way I like it, thats really a last resort option if no one has any ideas
but that means this is not normal? Your phone can send/receive images when connected to wifi normally?
Yeah I'm good

I'll have to try this! Although, I don't use wifi calling...
Also, I see a setting for MMS over wifi; does TMobile/MetroPCS support this?
But I have noticed the same issue, if I have WiFi on, sometimes my MMS dont go through, but if I turn wifi off, I dont reconnect to data without toggling airplane mode.
5.1.1, stock, factory reset already.

I'm almost 99% positive that it has nothing to do with the actual messaging app, but rather the way the phone decides to send things/cut off data while wifi is on.
guys this is all APN settings. I will post a quick solution

MMS port in our APN settings on the S6 should be set to 80, i just checked stock settings have no port set for them, everything else is right, so if you copy all settings and create a new apn make sure it looks like this

Also I had these settings on my N6 the same
Send yourself an MMS while on Wifi. Once you receive it, you should be good to go.
Just letting you know this isn't just an S6 issue. I had this problem on my Nexus 5, my S6, and my M9.

that was how tmobile had me testing the various attempted fixes they ran me through, picture was never able to go through
Was this ever resolved?
Does sending an MMS from the phone in question to itself somehow magically fix the problem or am I misunderstanding?
If not, other question is why does the stock messaging app have no issue whether WiFi is on or not/??
This is solved.
The Phone Carrier found the solution and sent me a text.
As many others in many other places suspect, It is an APN issue. To me it looks like Samsung has made some assumptions about what the APN setting should be for different carriers and simply loads them in as part of the update. The sets the Network Operators to select automatically. Sometime this only gets close enough that the phone only makes call but not SMS or mms. sometimes SMS works too but many time the mms setting fail.
This is the USA solution for those using Straight Talk
Settings --> Mobile Networks --> Access Point Names -->> you should already have a Straight Talk
If you don't you will have to call the Tech Line for the complete list as this maybe somewhat device specific.
Change the following.
Name: Straight Talk
APN: RESELLER
PROXY: not set
PORT: not set
User name: not set
Password: not set
Server: not set
MMSC: http: //mmsc .mobile.att.net
MMS PROXY: proxy mobile. att. net
MMS PORT: 80
MCC: 310
MNC410
AUTH TYPE: not set
MMS APN TYPE: default.mms.supl
APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN Roaming: IPv4/IPv6
Ok,
I did the OTA Update to Build Number MMB29K.T815YDVU2BPG5 ,,, Baseband version T815YDVU2BPE5 and mms has died.
Cannot send. If I try it takes 15-20 minutes for it to fail and give the failed message.
If I am sent an mms I get a message showing a download arrow and when I tap it, it takes about 5 minutes to get the "DOWNLOAD FAILED" message.
Things I have tried:
Checked APN setting with carrier. ---- They were correct
Deleted all other APN's from the system. ---- >> No CHANGE
Set APN protocol(s) to IPv4/IPv6 (carrier said it would be OK) ---->> NO CHANGE
Set Chrome to be the DEFAULT BROWSER ----->> NO CHANGE
Tried it in SAFE MODE ----->> still no mms send
The above should have done the next one but still tried the next one.
Deleted ALL other apps that had mms permissions--->> NO CHANGE
Things I have not tried:
Complete reset. Research says sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it works for a few hours and then mms fails again. Really big hassle.
Trying to ROLL BACK. Nothing about this looks easy or something a person without pretty high level knowledge and skills and access to a really good computer should attempt. This is especially true since I have one of the more unusual versions. The SM-T815Y (GSM LTE with a SIM card) and none of the other variations that have full phone capability were supposed to be available in the USA. Info for any version that isn't GSM LTE is probably useless since the hardware will be different. I get no WARRANTY SERVICE from Samsung. Cannot even register it with them. To get the original OS I have to download from foreign sites with all the perils that involve.
Hoping some else has some ideas I haven't tried short of a master reset.
