Which Features(Stock) I would lost If I flash Custom ROM? - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hello,
Mine is Samsung Note 9 Exynos Variant. I'm still on official stock OS and haven't tried rooting till now. (Software information Pic attached below)
As I bored with this OS(One UI 2.5), I wanted to flash custom room and try new One UI features.
Mainly I use Secure Folder, Samsung Pass, Samsung Pay, Samsung Health.
Which features I would lost If flash custom rom? Please let me know?
Also couod anyone share rooting guide which helps a noob like me?

All Knox based apps, forever, no going back.
Secure Folder, Samsung Pass, Samsung Pay for sure. For Samsung Health there might be a rooted work around for.
I think this is correct...

Ok, Thank You.
Nobel rom thread mentioned that Secure folder is working.
Can I use other payment apps(UPI) and banking applications safely?

If you can bypass root detection, then yes.

SpO2 measurement

the SpO2 measurement disappeared from.my phone and the s health app says that my phone can't measure it.
how do you think this can be fixed ?
thanks in advance .
I'm also trying to find a way to fix this.
It looks like Samsung was forced to remove some features in one of the S Health updates for legal purposes in some regions. Remember the whole issue about Samsung not intending for their phones to be medical devices which I think requires additional FDA regulations, or something.
There was a way using Xposed mods, there is a module called Global S Health which can apparently remove the regional restriction.
The problem I'm having now is that currently, the Xposed framework does not work on stock Samsung ROMS, I might end up changing my ROM, if you aren't using a ROM based on a Samsung ROM, this solution could work for you.

Xposed does work on stock Marshmallow roms. Are you still running Marshmallow?
Yes, I'm on 6.01
This is where I read that it wouldn't work on Samsung Lolipop & Marshmallow

[GUIDE] Use Samsung Health with Knox 0x1

As some of you will know, Samsung have no longer allowed Samsung Health to work on devices where Knox has been tripped.
This guide will show you how to get the latest version of Samsung Health to run without this block
This works ONLY on NON-ROOTED DEVICES
If you are not rooted and/or cannot root then you can follow the steps below to get Samsung Health working(this will only work if the app is not installed as a system app).
1- Uninstall the S-Health App (if you cannot uninstall the app, this means it is installed to the system partition).
2- Install patched version of the Samsung Health app which can be found HERE
3- Open the app and complete setup
4- Download and install SAI from here: Link
5- Open SAI and activate the option: Sign APKs
6- Download the last Samsung Health from here: Link
7- Install the APK with SAI
8- You should now be able to use the S-Health app without issue

what are the pros and cons (if any) of Magisk over SuperSU ? i apologize if this is

i searched for some info but couldn't find any at a glance so perhaps I will just ask you guys. I apologize if this is a FAQ and i just missed it. i have supersu. i wonder if i should move to Magisk ?
1. what are the pros of Magisk
2. any downsides of Magisk ?
3. is there any tutorial for converting from SuperSU to Magisk ? i managed to get TWRP and SuperSU because someone else did it on my phone. that person is no longer be able to help. different country different timezone. not a friend either. it was a paid service done in Hongkong where and when I bought the phone.
again I apologize if this is a FAQ. I'm a noob. I hope you guys can point me in the right direction. I just want to set this phone right from the get go. it's a virgin phone. haven't install anything yet. well i install Titanium Backup just to make sure root is working. 99% virgin i guess. thank you for any help and pointers
EDIT # 1 : forgot to add this is about Samsung Galaxy S9+ S9650 Snapdragon running 8.0 just in case it matters to those who want to contribute some info
EDIT # 2 : most likely won't be using this phone for Android Pay, SnapChat. but I would like to use this phone for banking apps. i'm not really into snapchat, instagrams, etc. me old timer

Open source. Actively maintined. Root hiding. Systemless modifications. Big community. Etc...
Possibly not compatible with as many devices as SuperSU was.

Is supersu even being developed anymore? I'd love to have at least some sort of crappy Plan B as it looks like magisk has a possibility of dying.

[Knox-Patched] Samsung Health 6.3.0.027 for all Samsung Galaxy phones

long time since I last wrote on xda.. just passing by
just bought my brand new Samsung Galaxy Watch Active and set it up together with my Galaxy S9 phone (will jump to the S10 in the near future). while doing so, I jumped across Samsung Health which won't work with tripped Knox as we well know.
I'm making this post to let people have the opportunity to enjoy Samsung Health on their phone, even with Knox tripped - for both Rooted (which could already use it before with a build.prop edit) and Un-rooted users
The official application has been patched in smali to bypass Knox checking.
Note: uninstall previous Samsung Health app before installing the patched one!
Compatibility: all Samsung Galaxy phones (rooted/un-rooted with tripped Knox)
Download: com.sec.android.app.shealth_6.3.0.027_patched_by_xpirt.apk
enjoy!

Will it possible for Samsung pass or samsung pay or its much more integrated?
Can't uninstall stock app, only disable it.
If I try to install the patched app it fails because stock is still installed.

My S7 Unrooted:
Cant uninstall the original S-health, so renamed package name of patched one, but apk crash and wont start. (still think that this one cant have a hearth rate and synchronization to work)
https://www.apkhere.com/down/com.gmail.heagoo.apkeditor.pro_1.8.28_free - this one work for me

A lot of people have trouble installing this apk over the old one so I was wondering maybe you wouldn't mind releasing the same app but with different package name? It would fix all of those problems easily.
I'm having difficulties installing this app. could someone help?

You can also update the app from the play store and it'll still be fine.

Is it possible to share your patch details? I might want to look into other apps which get broken by tima / knox, and this could help nost starting from zero.

Galaxy Notes on M21

Hey all!
The only reason I changed to Samsung M21 was my need to read notes on my phone I wrote in Samsung Notes on other device (Samsung Galaxy Tab S4). And I was very surprised and disappointed, when I reallized they don't allow to update Samsung Notes app on M21 to the latest version. Now it's 3.* on M21 and 4.* on Tab S4, so it even doesn't show me my notes. It is funny, but cheaper A20 has 4.* version. It returns with error if I try to install latest .apk of the app, Galaxy Store shows only 3.*.
Are here any solutions? Maybe, some custom ROM or kinda forced installing?
Probably because M21 has One UI Core. Sadly, there's nothing you can do about it if you're not rooted.
Thank you for the answer, Fredin_. It is no problem to root the phone, isn't it? My previous phones were rooted, so I had a little experience. Could you please tell more about solutions after I do it.

It shouldn't be a big deal, nothing is broken for me and banking apps work after hiding the magisk app, using magisk hide and passing safetynet, though I did come across one app that refused to work.
You need to disable signature verification somehow (the easiest way would be to use luckypatcher) and install the apk using Split APK Installer using the root method. If that doesn't work, you can try installing the app as a system app, most apps should work with either of these methods.
But if you are happy with android 10, then an even better alternative would be to use Totsuka OS. It's a OneUI port, so you can just install stuff from the galaxy store or playstore.

Ditch SNotes now or it will bite you even harder. Samsung is notorious for lack of legacy support with this apk, as I know all too well. Cut&pasted more of these notes than I care to remember to salvage them
I use ColorNote now. You can hyperlink directly from them so you can use it for saving bookmarks too. It will store backups on a SD card and you can export backups to the PC.
This app it's self doesn't need internet connection to function... in fact I always block it with Karma Firewall.
Save an installable copy of it if you decide to use it... never trust Playstore.
