I have a Motorola X40 and my biggest gripe with it is they downgraded the touch sampling rate on the X30 Pro/Edge 30 Ultra from 360hz to 240hz. The game mode allows the touch rate to be boosted to about 375hz on the X40 but I was looking to see if there was a way to keep it there all the time through adb or something without having to enable game mode on all my apps. Any ideas or help would be great;

Hey Daniel, thanks for the reply, and I live in the US. I bought the phone for a pretty good deal from a guy that couldn't deal with 5g not working. I live in a rural area so 5g doesn't work better then lte anyway, so I don't care. Other things that I have seen not work with the phone is "hey Google" and Google location history, so I may flash the global ROM eventually. Also I know I can add apps to the game mode, I was just wondering if I could apply the higher touch sampling mode system-wide and have it stay on. It looks like some other Motorola phones had a setting to increase touch sensitivity, so I wasn't sure if maybe it was present somehow or if anyone knows a way to enable this. Thanks.

Hmm how strange, that 5G doesn't work for you. There's another user here from us on at&t and it works on his phone. What network are you on?

I use a MVNO called Red Pocket Mobile that uses gsma bands (which are operated and owned by ATT). I can't imagine anyone got this phone to work with ATT directly as they verify the IMEI to make sure it's a device they whitelist for use on their network. Even my old Poco F3 and OnePlus 7 Pro were not allowed to be used directly with Cricket Wireless which is owned by ATT. I had received a text about an hour after inserting my sim that "the network could not be verified", and they would not work at all. The phone market in this country is awful which is why I like to do everything I can to escape the Samsung or Apple duopoly.

I agree that it looks very cool, but they want to use a MediaTek processor.
MTEK are very unfriendly to modders and the open source community and rarely release any source code. Yet the Gemini guys wrote that they'll support Linux dualboot.
Looks a bit weird to me. I'd like to get that but only if Lineage will run on it.
I wonder if you can actually use it as a phone. like put it to your ear and talk...
That thing looks way interesting. The only thing that I am worried about is how to make a phone call with this.
ohhhhh wtf? thats looking cool

Yes but, I think that to make a call you have to open it up to dial, and use the stereo speakers to listen, there is no ear only speaker.
The Gemini PDA will have a microphone and speaker for phone use whilst closed. Calls can be made in this mode via the voice activation button or wired or wireless headset. Programmable LEDs will enable caller ID for known callers.

Yes, I agree, a sub forum for the Gemini would be great. Going by the comments on Indigogo, there would be a lot of interest in it.

You can* there are mics and speakers on both sides so it doesn't matter which way you use it, but forget about using the touchscreen in case you need to. (you'll have to open the clamshell to do so.)
I have one but haven't tested the phone yet (or really plan to) . As mine is an early release model (early backer) it shipped without the e-sim functionality enabled yet (testing still needed), and I really don't want to get a sim card if I don't have to. (Regular Sim cards do/should work)

There's a new update our for the 5G variant, 9.5.7
It adds very little and quite frankly is a bit of a disgrace - this "update" is still the June path level and to make matters worse the feature disparity between the 4G & 5G is widening!

Which do you think is the majority device? Yeah so that's the one they'll dev for first. That's the risk of getting into technology at launch, exactly why I didn't bother with the 5g version, wait until it's properly bedded in and the norm.

Apparently there's an ongoing issue with the patch they were going to release, hence the delay. If it was me, I'd be happier with a working phone than an updated, mebbe insecure, mebbe glitchy phone. They have said the patch will be coming soon, presumably to bring it to parity with the 4G models.

I told them the phone wasn't fit for purpose as advertised features still didn't work properly, and the continued lack of updates made me question whether they ever would.
OnePlus' silence when it comes to answering queries or support tickets about the 5G is inexcusable - they clearly aren't interested in this phone variant, and I doubt it will ever gain parity with the (lesser) 4G variant.
I'm either going to get a Note 10 or Mate 30 when they're available - I know the Note 10 can do 5G and I almost guarantee that the Mate 30 will too!
How can you go to 60Hz after using 90Hz? I went to a local phone shop to see the Note 10(+), but just because of its 60Hz screen I wouldn't buy it. Period. It just feels sluggish and laggy. All the animations feel as if they are capped because of the 60Hz display.

I'm looking forward to a phone where the main features actually work! If I have to sacrifice a bit of screen refresh in order to have a functioning phone, then so be it!

Thanks - I'm also waiting for this model. Dual sim snapdragon.
I hope it gets updates faster than. The note 20.ultra equivalent (sti on Android 10)
Q: what is the build number? Did it update when you first got it?
Shouldn't it be SM-G9980 DS? Not SM-G9880 DS.

Thank corrected.
Thinking of ordering this over Australian G998B Exynos. Does anyone know of any issues using the G9980 compared to G998B in Aus. Also is "4G" or "LTE" symbol displayed on this version? Thanks
Using mine in Switzerland, works just fine, haven't tested 5g yet, there isn't where I live
my experience with night photo - very noisy, iphone 11 pro max beaten it in every aspect,
auto switching between cameras is funny - You increase zoom, as soon as it gets to the next lens the quality degrades then as You cross "logical border" the quality returns back to normal (or expected one), so the steps are very discrete comparing to smooth switch on iOS

I have this device running WIFI calling on a Tracfone MVNO over T-mobile's network in Sim2 - I've not been able to get wifi calling to work with Xfinity Wireless in sim1 but that's because they know my phone isn't the device that I'm supposed to have on my account and they can't (or won't) update because they think it's not supported on their network... Have you reset the network settings recently? Entered the band selector and made sure you've got the proper situation going for your scenario? *#*#4636#*#* I'm working in the NV memory fixing the config files to enable the US 5g bands at the moment. Haven't notice any issues with the latest update.
Without ignoring the top line specs this device is not much of a value. It's selling well mainly due to Samsung's huge trade-in offers but for half It's price one can aquire Samsung's A72 with a Snapdragon SoC, Dual SIM's, 8GB RAM, 256GB Internal and up to 1TB External Memory, 6.7 Inch Display, 3.5 mm Jack, 5000 mAh Battery and 120Hz Refresh Rate for under $470 USD.

I found a fix on TMobile. I went and got a new sim card. That was it. Wifir calling and VoIP now.working again.
Hey, i bought this phone because of "eSIM support" which normally this phone could have and a lot of websites say it have eSIM support. Normally Snapdragon 865 is compatible with eSIM but Samsung doesn't released update to enable it.
I found some clues that with Note 20 Ultra was possible to active eSIM without Samsung update (at the end they got eSIM update) link here.
I have root at my S20 FE 5G so i tried too some mods but it doesn't work at the end.
1. Decoded CSC
2. Changed <CscFeature_RIL_SupportEsim>FALSE</CscFeature_RIL_SupportEsim> to TRUE
3. After reboot got message "Search for your new mobile plan?"

4. In "Search"
So i don't have any extra option to add QR Code, here is no "menu below" and i don't see any eSIM menu in settings.
Tried to add EuiccService.apk to system/priv-app/EuiccService which was success recognized but didn't help.
Is here anyone who got working eSIM support with this phone?
hmm, maybe if you can find someone with e-sim functionality working (and maybe root) they could run logs before activating the feature. help you run down all the processes, libraries and whatnot involved.
I have S20 5G with eSIM but no root. Logcat works without root so i can get some logs.
I added EsimClient.apk and EuiccService.apk to priv-apps looks like those apps are working but further problem with SimModel.
Someone know which app or something give this log?
"SimModel: [C] esim is not supported"
One step further ;]
SimModel give another things and now can i use QR code...
don't get me wrong, I know nothing at all about android but I'm thinking this kinda sounds like there might be a prop file somewhere too.

No :/ I use further 2 x SIM no space for my MicroSD.
S20, S21 series use SN100U (with PN547 NFC contriller) SoC for esim works (I don't know which SoC used on S22 series). I asked 4pda users what NFC chip built in their devices using Device info HW app. Then I got that: 4G used PN547, 5G used sec-nfc driver (both versions based on Snapdragon). And I have 5G versions, And too have sec-nfc. But, through logcat I got messages from s3nsen4 nfc SoC. On Samsung official site writen, that SoC support eSIM, but I don't found firmware for this. And sorry for English, I study it yet

It was on April's Fool Day from what I can gather! https://www.xda-developers.com/android-13-esim-report/
Such a ludicrous situation Samsung, are you listening?
[EDIT]: Maybe it wasn't a joke after all https://source.android.com/docs/core/connect/esim-mep.
But manufacturers (Samsung) will still need to integrate it / enable it, when 13 is released some time soon... can we hope?
Did anyone get this to work or have any updates?
now that android 13 is out on this phone..
not esim, but flash android 13 and now dual sim is working on t-mobile.
Just a question.... Is there any development in the drone industry, especially within the Chinese drone manufacturer DJI where the main focus is looking into the code to see what types of data is being collected and sent to the Chinese Government? ...
Then or also has there been any attempts to root the drones and remotes so that Americans can controls where that data may be sent. Like instead of using DJI.s servers you can send data to your desktops home network through 5g. via different firmware and software that's customisable....

Are you using your own phone and the DJI Fly app or like the Mini 3 Pro with the RC (builtin screen).
If you had the RC you could (probably?) just never enable WiFi.
Nah, I don't own one yet. I'm torn between the Mini SE and the Mini 3 Pro and I don't buy anything!
I have a Mavic 2 pro the controller doesn't have a built in screen so i fly with Dji's fly more app.
correct me if I'm wrong, I herd that the drone its self uses a custom version of android for its on bord flight controller. I was wondering if anyone has thought about rooting the flight controller?

I'm not sure what benefit rooting the drone would be, but I'm always interested in analyzing things.
You'd think that they'd be enough semi-destroyed drones around to be able to do a teardown.
I can see the benefit of rooting the builtin hand controllers.

Well I blew $1,250 on a DJI mavic Zoom about a year-and-a-half ago and it has magnificent flight characteristics and it's a real pleasure to fly. Unfortunately, I live within two blocks of a no-fly zone and I never get a chance to fly it cuz I have to drive somewhere to fly it. If you do an extensive Google search on the Mavic and no fly zones you'll come across many links to companies that specialize in hacking software for DJI drones. I haven't used any of them so I can't recommend one, but you can certainly find out for yourself. Good luck and report back to us with your findings if you so desire.
