Hey guys ,
I'm using my mi 9t pro since 3 years now , currently on evolution X ( amazing rom by the way thanks to the dev . ) and I'm very interested about buying a mi 11 ultra but still have few questions .
Does someone did the changing as me ?
I'm currently struggling on battery since I used my smartwatch connected and I'm out of battery around 22:00 every day with just 5h screen maximum , will the mi 11 ultra the same ?
Thank you for your advises

Can someone also tell about wifi chip issue? I am planning to buy this device but read some where that it has issue where wifi stops working and its hardware fault?
I had Mi 9, Mi 10 and now Mi 11 Pro(which is pretty the same as Ultra expect tele camera an rear display which nobody uses). Also, month ago I bought Mi 9T Pro for my friend.
I still have Mi 9 and Mi 10 and Mi 11 Pro/Ultra is going to be your miracle in life. In combine with MIUI14(the fastest OS in 2023 I can say), you won't come back to any other phone.
If you decide to buy Ultra, prepare yourself for making CPU cooler with one magisk module.
Thank you for your answer

Thank you for your answers ,
Can you be more specific on what will be the life changing please ?
Also what about the battery life of your Mi 11 pro please ?
I eared the soc 888 is very bad for battery optimization and some people have only 3-4h of used before running out of battery ?

Well, camera - Leica mod and GCam made this phone one of the best on the market if we are talking about camera.
MIUI 14+ A13, big battery. I'm charging it once a day(I'm heavy user, as I'm listening to YT while working 8h + message apps).
Battery is great with Efficient Tuner(check on XDA).
With it performance is the best.
I can't check sot because I'm heavy user but it's more than 4 hours - at least it feels like that

I'm also using Mi 11 pro . Not many people using probably because they're scared since it's a CN model. But they don't know that CN rom actually has basic google services, just need to be enabled in the settings. Or you can just flash global or xiaomi.eu rom or AOSP.
So far I've flashed the global/eea rom , then the xiaomi.eu rom.
Now it's running Evolution X , and getting better battery runtime.
The phone has been really good , no problems encountered so far.
Ok, I'm probably well equipped to answer your question OP. I moved from the K20Pro (Aka 9tpro) to the 11 Ultra.
Things to note. Overheating can be a pain, seems to be better on miui13 and later firmware though. Camera is much better, battery life not so much. Imo, its about the same as when I was using the 9tpro. Faster charging speeds are good too, high refresh rate is good too.
I was an early adopter of the 11ultra and my first unit got fried about 11 months into its life but afterwards I've got it replaced and seems to be good for now.

My replacement is also a late 2022 production. June or July iirc. So far, the WiFi hasn't crapped out on me yet. Heating issues still remains because it's not a Xiaomi manufacturing issue but a sd888 issue.

Good afternoon. I come from 1 year with Motorola and OnePlus. Where can I check the motherboard, to know if I will have problems in the future with this equipment?
I was also a user of the Mi 9T pro, more than 1 year ago. Then jump to 1+ 7Pro and then motorola

Hey there ,
When you received your phone on the back you will have the IMEI code .
You just go on https://xiaomicheck.com/
And put your IMEI code on it and it will show you if the phone is new , warranty date AND the production date .
But yet we are not sure since when they change the motherboard on the production..

Thanks for your answer. My only doubt is regarding the way they mention the date. Here in Mexico we always put: day/month/year. And some countries, I think they change, the month and day or day and month

****y service with ****y phones. No more Xiaomi for me. Had enough with Mi Max 1 &2.
They don't release sources on time. MIUI is a joke of an OS and they promise one thing and deliver something else.
JThis is just a hype created by Xiaomi. Not a worthy upgrade to either MM1 or 2.

I heard there are some issues unsolved. Like the phone speaker not being able to adjust the cracking sound volume on phone calls on the mi max 2.
However I was lucky with the Mido. Everything works in Lineage OS without any bugs of whatsoever.
I can just cross my fingers and hope official Lineage OS will come to this phone :fingers-crossed:
For me it took three days to get the unlock code as described that it should..even though there was some issues with the unlocking process that took some extra days. But I guess your mileage may vary.

Yes I tried in Apr for a friend's phone don't remember the model it said wait for 15 days. So please check Xiaomi forums you would know.
I too believe that xiaomi should be consistent with releasing updates on time and don't show false hopes... and shdnt be biased toward specific range or models. How much love xiaomi showed for mi max 2? its still nougat and here devs are on their own to release upgrades with help of unknown or incomplete sources...
Teasing and luring won't help sometimes... just adding screen and a bit processor upgrade don't worth it and even if they add some great hardware still its question abt how much xiaomi will support this device or is it future proof?

Yes, the partially source code is one bit I'm dissatisfied with Xiaomi.
I have the router 3G and you can choose to use padavan with closed-source original drivers.
Or you can use open-source drivers with LEDE and an alternative QoS module to avoid overload issue that makes the wifi disconnect the clients after a while of up time.
Waiting for this!

In in the display or the ergonomics (feel it should be display) you should ask if the display is too narrow relative to the diagonal (not diagonal am sure there will be folks who will say it is too big etc)...but more about the aspect ratio-is it too long relative to the width as the SCREEN width is no more than an old Samsung Mega 6.3 (same in fact)
I am going to develop for this device like i did for the previous Max's

Edit: nevermind, it was shipped this morning.
Any idea when it will ship?
I made the mistake of buying max 2 after max 1. The sources released almost 9 months after release of the phone. No more xiaomi for me. I'll gladly pay a little extra for another phone that has the software I want without bugs.
The Mi Max 2 is my fave all time phone.. I've happily UPgraded from a Exynos Samsung Galaxy S8+, which had terrible battery life..
Mi Max 2 with the latest xtended Oreo rom is amazing, highly configurable and SOT is nuts using kernel auditor. So yes I love SD625 and this phone, which my wife is also using but with standard MIUI.
Looking forward to the Mi Max 3 in the future.

Hi, I was looking for best lightweight ROM for my Mi 9T Pro Global device. Currently I'm on MIUI 12.5.2 and battery life is really bad. I'm getting 7 hours SoT. Sytem UI and Others suck the battery out.

But I am sure this device was getting 12-15 hours daily usage in 2019 with MIUI 10.0.3 (Android 9). To prove this, I formatted data from OrangeFox Recovery and installed V10.3.3.0.PFKMIXM. And my battery life became awesome as it is before! Here's the battery status. The device looks like in the first day.
Android system uses %10,5!!! It was +%35 when I was using MIUI 11-12. I only charged the phone 1 time in a day. It was 3 times a day when I use MIUI 11 and 12.
If you guys want your old long battery performance, just downgrade your ROM to MIUI 10.3.3.0.
It was fine but there was two problem for me. First one, Android 12 came out and I don't want to stay outdated. Second one, I loved the new MIUI 11-12 interface, animations and overall feel. The downgrading version is not feel right for just battery...
So, my question, is there any lightweight & (really) stable Android 11 or 12 version ROM for Mi 9T Pro? Battery life is really important for me, please specify the SoT value when you recommend a ROM. I think our phone has great hardware but thanks to MIUI(!) it's lacking the performance.
Thanks in advance!

Because that's not what his question is.
Not all custom ROMs are great. Not all kernels are good. In fact, I tested like 3 custom ROMs over the past week on my old Poco F1 and 2 of the ROMs sucked (in terms of battery life). Why waste a week of testing, when you can get stats and recommendations from others first?
Some people have jobs and families to support and other things to do. Ain't nobody got time to spend 2~3 days testing custom ROMs to make comparisons. It takes time to get a ROM installed, install apps (doesn't matter if you use Titanium Backup or not), all of these processes take time. Not to mention that you might find unknown bugs in certain ROMs.
Anyway, I too would like to know this. I bought my K20 Pro (China version) when it first came out. Updated it to MIUI 12 and battery life went to ****. Downgraded back to MIUI Android 9 and it's fine. But these days, I'm getting about 1% drain every 3~4 minutes. I used to get 1% drain every 8~9 minutes. I feel like it's time to install a custom ROM now.
I've looked at Pixel Experience (which is what I'm currently using on my Poco F1) and there are some bugs that others have reported, as well as a lot of reports of bad battery life. I can't find any ROMs that seem to focus on battery life.
Only ROM that I found that seems to have an unanimous opinion of good battery life is HavocOS, but it hasn't been updated since January 2021.
[ROM][11.0] Havoc-OS 4.1 [OFFICIAL] [30-01-2021]
Havoc-OS 3.x is based on AOSP, inspired by Google Pixel. Has a refined Material Design 2 UI crafted by @SKULSHADY. Many useful features that will blow your mind. All you can dream of and all you'll ever need. Just flash and enjoy... General...
forum.xda-developers.com
In fact, I found plenty of ROMs that have been abandoned or haven't been updated for some time. Most are not even from senior developers. I'm not looking to waste time installing ROMs that don't actually have an actual developer behind it.

So why use XDA then.
Also, isn't HavocOS 4.10 the same as the link I posted previously? Or is the one I posted previously 4.01?
And your answer is still not relevant to the question that was asked in OP. You can give suggestions for 10 different custom ROMs and not all of them are good. Nobody has time to go through each of them and test one by one. And nobody has time to check Telegram and other apps or platforms. I've got Discord, Whatsapp, Line, Facebook, Twitter and it's enough as it is.

well then nobody can help you bcoz unless u try something u won't know about it just stick to stock rom maybe downgrade to older version if u feel that performs better bcoz none of us can do anything about miui update and the way it is bogging the whole phone down.Currently any custom rom that uses A11 firmware is not that good in battery life thanks to xiaomi's broken firmware.

Not true. I have multiple Xiaomi devices between me and my wife. We have:
Poco F1 (was on stock MIUI 12 and battery life sucked. Switched to Pixel Experience Android 11 and battery life improved by a lot. I'm talking about 8~9% idle battery drain per 10hrs, down to 0~1% idle battery drain per 10hrs).
Xiaomi Mipad 4 - stock ROM was fine, now on Android 11 custom ROM (can't remember the name of it) and it's about 3% idle battery drain per 10hrs.
Redmi Note 9T 5G - stock MIUI 12.5 rom. I get about 1% idle battery drain per 10 hrs and about 1% battery drain per 10 minutes of SOT. Best record I got was 4.5hrs of SOT with only 15% of battery drain, which is amazing. Again, stock MIUI 12.5 Android 11 ROM.
Poco X3 NFC - almost same as above, except it's about 1% of battery drain per 6~7 minutes of SOT. Stock A11 MIUI 12 ROM as well.
All you had to do was share the SOT for the custom ROMs and make some recommendations. Instead, you come and tell people to check Telegram (this is XDA mate) and give answers that don't really help anyone. You do realize there's like 10+ different custom ROMs and not everyone has the time to waste to try out every one of them? I did that before when I was young and had free time. I ain't got the time for that now.
Again, a simple answer of "I used XYZ ROM with XYZ kernel and average SOT is X hours" would have been enough.

In that case all roms give atleast 6-6.30 sot values easily except a11 firmware based roms. All aosp roms are lightweight comapred to miui.
Hi everyone,
The problem with my phone was battery drain problem caused by Android's battery optimization feature, I found the problem, thanks to Tom...
Read this article: [MIUI with Tom #8] FIX battery Drain in MIUI - after OTA or after reset to factory settings!
Before:
After:
Here's the magic:
adb devices
adb shell "cmd package bg-dexopt-job"
a) Turn off autostart for all apps
b) Lower the background process limit from "Standard" to 3 in developer settings.
c) Turn off background work of cloud apps.
d) Delete bloatware applications (I'll explain in the next section).
e) Discharge your phone completely once, the device will turn off. Charge it to 100% without ever turning it on and turn on your device. This is called battery calibration.
f) Battery > App battery saver, restrict the background activities of the apps you rarely use.
g) Battery > Settings icon > Battery saver > scroll down to the bottom and turn on "Schedule time to switch between modes". Set your own time. It will automatically turn battery saver on and off.
h) Battery > Scheduled on/off > here set the on/off times according to your nighttime sleep and morning wake-up time. Your device will turn off when you sleep and turn on when you wake up.
i) Turn off the Always On Screen feature.
Can we actually get the full performance of Snapdragon 888 in Xiaomi 11T Pro? Many reviewers says it's underperforming. Can we enable it's performance?
I have another question, people says it has throttling issues. Can i use it for heavy gaming? If i use a cooler fan? Does it will give a stable performance?
How is the phone in day to day use? Does it over heat?
on stock miui i dont think so, plus 888 and Gen 1 has heating issues so i dont think its a good idea also

Any Performance Drop? Many Youtubers says it's 888 Performance is Underperforming. Performance Drop A lot. Is it True?
No. You must try it. This CPU eats MIUI

MIUI is likely the cause of the problem here, I tried with a custom unofficial google experience rom the results were surprising as it surpassed the MIUI usage ones. Yes, even with a good custom rom that is lite will make the processor show its true self. I am using the White model with 8gb of ram and 256gb of storage to note. (Brought it in early 2022). I suggest you install a custom rom or anything to make MIUI lightweight. Custom rom is google experience unofficial version 12.1 .Snapdragon itself is already a beast when it come to performance. If want google experience unofficial rom for this phone click on this tutorial. >> https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-install-custom-roms-gsi-11t-pro.4396021/

The 11T Pro is a nice phone with enough power. Can it gain more performance? Yes maybe, but why should it? It's fast enough right now.

Using a GSI Rom gives you tons of performance. The miui is the one slowing it down. Miui score for multi core is 2800 ish. Meanwhile I got 3203 on Geekbench. The phone does have a little bit of overheating. Other than that it performed well in normal indoor conditions and some outdoor. Honestly don't even dare to use MIUI.
I uses on previous phones, redmi note 7,8 pro , Poco f2 pro, Redmi note 9 pro 5g , so manu custom ROMs, Boootlegers, Pixel expirence, Project Elixir, CorvusOS , Radiant Project... Every single one is a good AOSP ROM, especially because of battery. but I can not and never will used to use Gcam, MIUI Camera is such improved, have so manu options, that is amazing. yes , Gcam do all automaticlly but MIUI camera have all that setttings and for those who love photography isnt hard to set up settings manually...
I already unlock boootoader , flashed Xiaomi EU but , with thus cpu no need to use AOSP

I myself personally have a dedicated mirrorless camera. For me performance matters. (Small political opinion) I am using no MIUI for many reasons. First thing USB debugging security. Yes, I have to enter my MI account. Calculator app sends to Xiaomi servers. THIS is not a cool OS. AOSP based rom suited me fully with all hands. MIUI also is laggy and eats resources. Xiaomi also made a timer when a critical setting is changed. I have had enough, and go for other roms instead. Say no to MIUI and say hello to other roms, they are here to stay.

I have already planned to install a custom ROM on it knowingly. Right now due to external crisis I need a bang for the bucks. You know that the economy all ran down. Yeah and smartphones got expensive. Plus I at least get speed. My Xiaomi account that I created is an alt as I used a alternative email to do that. I might sound weird, but hear me out. Earlier on I tried google normal GSI Rom and then pixel experience unofficial GSI Rom. The phone in the website also said android enterprise recommended... On the English version of the website this also lead me to think that even I know MIUI sucks I at least might be able to change the Rom to get price down.

ok,i see
If it is underperforming, I'd say it is still leaving a good impression on me. Bought one a couple of weeks ago (My S21u was stolen) and performs very well.
I change mine RN9ro 5G sd 750g with aslo 108mp camera ,with flash AOSP roms I got easly 2 days of battery , now I chane it to 11T pro and cant get used to that battery is almost empty in the evning.. but peformance of 888 is awesome... its twice faster opens apps then on RN9pro 5g
Hi, there,
I was wondering if you could share real world experiences with this new flagship device (recently launched in India).
I see forum is quite silent which keeps me second guessing and I don't want to get this device if I cant get rid of MIUI.
I'm getting it at 690 USD (Indian unit) and wanted to weigh in some opinions. It's surprising that YT has very few reviews for this device when its offering somewhat the same spec of S22 Ultra at half the price. My priority is camera and decent battery life. Not a gamer or Instagram/Facebook scroller.
screen is amazing, would have preferred a flat screen, but the curve is not a negative.
battery life is highly variable. 5G enabled and dual sim in use & screen in max resolution (all things MIUI recommends against) I get about a day (~24 hour) use with about 10~20% remaining. High use and that drops to about 16 hours. On the plus side charging is FAST. Have not used the 120W charger yet, a 67W fast charger, and even a 30W wireless charger get it back to 100% quickly enough.
Have not gamed on it, so cannot comment on that, however it does get warm at times.
Main camera, using MIUI camera app, is really great, even in lower light. Telephoto and ultrawide take acceptable pictures but have not used them much at all, the fixed focus aspect is a bit disappointing though.
MIUI has improved a lot and is not a bad rom at present. Custom ROM development is probably (hopefully) still a bit slow as this has only been on the global market a few months. Really hoping for Lineage, but MIUI is ok for now, and may change to the EEA version.
Still can't help but wonder if the OnePlus 9 Pro would have been a better option (rated as better battery life, also has 5G, dual sim and same resolution screen, recent chipset without heating issues), plus has official lineageOS 19 available.

Thank you.
Regarding OnePlus, I think they've gone sideways with their last 2 releases 9 and 10. I've had tons of users having issues and regret buying the device who were otherwise satisfied with their previous versions of OnePlus.
If it is not a rush purchase (mine was as my previous daily driver died) you could wait and see if they release the K50 Pro globally under the POCO brand, with a snapdragon chipset.
The K50 Pro really ticked all the boxes for me, cheaper, flat high res screen, macro cam (which would be more useful for me), only issue is currently it is China only and when I checked not even xiaomi.eu were doing ROMs for it (and no kernel sources available), presumably because of the MediaTek chipset, thus also meaning highly unlikely there would be custom 3rd party roms for it ever. If they release it as a POCO with SD chipset I would probably swop my X12Pro.
OP9P seemed almost equivalent to X12Pro, but cheaper, unfortunately there were no 12/256 versions in stock anywhere nearby. Only really saw people complaining about the OP official ROM, and that there were few improvements over older hardware but that would have been my first OP phone in many years so I would not have been comparing it to older models.

I agree with the most, but can't agree about battery life. With higher use (and I don't talk about gaming here) - camera, Twitter, Instagram, messengers etc etc, battery can drop a bit faster than I would expect. For example, I went to a concert couple of days ago - photos, videos etc ect, and in 2-3 hours, battery dropped to about 50-60% which is too much.
Still keeping to my report of "highly variable", i will also agree with the above. When actively in use (screen on, 5G mobile data in use) the battery drains faster than I feel it should.
However in standby (screen off, not actively being used) the drain seems to be quite minimal, although I think MIUI is closing or suspending apps to achieve this low standby drain.
So on days I'm home and not using the phone much I feel I could almost get 2 days from a charge, when out and about I feel it is best to have a charger of some sort available at the mid-afternoon.
If possible i would wait for the 12S series which should have better camera and new G1 surge chip (we have P1 only for charging) reducing battery drain of system in combination with snap8gen1+. Still hope for software fix of battery drain in 12 pro but the advertising for the new S implies they know the problem and fix it with hardware upgrades for future models. I like my 12 pro except battery autonomy because I paid only 750€ instead of the utopic 1150€ but simply doesn't feel like I made a big deal.
Agree with above statements that the battery is definitely not the strongest point in the 12 Pro, here's a few pics of the issue I'm currently having with the Wi-fi , and no matter which settings I try with the Wi-fi drain just doesn't dissapear, I'm almost on the verge of returning the phone due to this and maybe aiming for a Sony instead.

Hello I believe the stats are simply wrong for wlan. If 1267mAh are 50% of the drain you should have lost 2500mAh and this is not from 100 to 73%.
Overall your stats with 15hrs and 2hrs SOT (should drain about 20%) are OK with this phone.
The thing is SD8 gen 1 is battery hungry process. Mi guys should include GOS like feature in miui like samsung did. You can see in some tech videos it s22 ultra gives good battery life but a little less performance than X12 pro.
Hi,
I have used OnePlus 9 pro and then shifted to Xiaomi 12 pro after its launch.
I can assure you this device is far more better in every aspect except cameras when compared to OnePlus 9 pro,
Oxygen OS 12 is ****ty meanwhile MIUI 13 here in X12pro is amazingly fluid while I faced many bugs in my usage nothing ground breaking or permanent,
As everyone else mentioned display is the best I have ever used, even gaming is very fluid I play apex legends & mobile legends daily & never faced any lags or other issue, even with just around 20% charge left mobile Legends game ran perfectly,
Charging speed with 120W charger with boost charge on is just mind blowing but it does heat up our device so I use boost charge rarely when I only have 10 to 15 mins time and in this case is more than enough to completely charge this device from 20/30 to 100
Cameras are great but when compared to OnePlus 9 pro they are just OK, without comparison miui Camera is one of the best out there also there is a version of miui leica camera apk extracted from Xiaomi 12S series leaked which has amazing results try it out if u can
Custom ROM development is still very slow and nearly zero, there is Xiaomi EU rom though which I am using right now EU rom gets security updates and other features far quicker than Stock ROM, I seriously suggest you to consider EU Rom
Overall considering pros and cons I always prefer Xiaomi 12 pro over OnePlus 9 pro or 10 Pro
I'm in the same boat and want to upgrade to 12pro. Currently have 11T pro which is amazing but awfully bad at the same time due to a few annoying glitches.proximity sensor being one. Seeing as 12P also has a virtual proximity sensor, how does it work? Has it been fixed or better than 11T pro? I'm constantly tapping on the screen to wake it up, when I make a call the screen keeps pressing every app available, etc then dimming so you can see anything. So hopefully 12 isn't like it. Also what's the deal with 12S pro? Are they the same phones? Not much online about it

in my case I have faced some issues with proximity sensor but they are very random and rare phone just doesn't automatically light up screen when I am end call or on call but have to get some contact, but very few times though it happens very rarely that it never actually bothered me but yeah battery is ok but not great in my case I generally charge it 2 times a day
Personally have been using it for couple of days now. Everything is exceptional and happy with the phone. Battery is average I would say, it will last you a day about 6hrs screen on time. Turn off 120hz, gives an additional approx 15% of charge.
