hopefully, someone come up with the alternative, been finding v40 dll as well trying every single lgup and still not working on my lg v405ebw which is HKG version (bought it on ebay.co.uk).

Same here but purchased via Amazon UK..

I had LG V30+ (us998) on Sprint and all the bloatwares. I used patched LGUP & DLL file and flash ls998 witch is unlocked V30 kdz. Ot worked prefect. Then i tried to flash some another kdz file, didn't succeed, brick the phone. But then i use CHIP erase and tried to flash ls998 (unlocked) on it. And it worked but that delete serial number and other details. Bc i did chip erase. But phone worked fine at the end?

LG G4 H811 unknown model issue in LGUP

Hello everyone, I have an lg g4 h811 that constantly says please select a known model in LGUP. I want to return to stock firmware from AEX pie rom, and now I am stock in a boot loop. It gets into download mode though, I have tried all methods I know like using flash tool 2014, lgup, updated all the drivers, even changed the com port to 41 ( in case of flash tool ) still no luck. please I need help ASAP.

Did you find a solution for this? I am experiencing the same thing.

hi for korea maybe not possible, but it is possible flash to v405qa usa unlocked or european v405ebw with crossflash

ok first download and instal LGUP_Dev_Frame_Ver_1_15_0_6, after instal usb driver LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.2.0
in disc C\program filles find lg electronics\LGUP\model here make a new folder with the name (common) and in this folder common copy dll file- https://www.mylgphones.com/lgup-dll-for-lg-v40-thinq-version1-9-39-7.html this dll(LGUP_DLL_for_V40.zip)
now put the phone in download mode with usb to the pc
open powershell from the LGUP folder and type cmd enter
now indicate the address to the kdz file folder on your PC, in my case it was (lgup_cmd.exe com3 "C:\Program Files\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\common\LGUP_Common.dll" "D:\Zona Downloads\lg v40\V405EBW20d_00_OPEN_EU_DS_OP_1106.kdz)
if you have correctly indicated the address to the kdz file, firmware update will start
wait up to 100%

I believe I tried this days ago. However, after days of trying, I reread this, and it is clear to me that there are two problems with these instructions: 1. Firstly so many other threads say use only 1.16 and above for this phone. 2. you don't offer a patched link. The standard dev requires special passwords and doesn't offer a way to register.
I haven't found a dev version above 1.14 that was patched. Someone offered a patched 1.15 that supposed to help. But non of the dlls work, which I suspect is because no lgup can work with lg v405ua, below a patched 1.16 dev. I don't think I have found that unicorn yet.

Lg v405ua update

Hi.
I have LG v40 unlocked from sprint, model lm-v405UA. Firmware from may 2019. In LG web site there is an update from December.
When i connect it to lg bridge to update firmware it doesnt recognized the phone. Of course i installed lg usb driver.
Second question is, which kdz file for lg v40 can i flash instad the original firmware?

I can't get past an error when trying to crossflash my V405UA20a to Android 10 using the Verizon KDZ. The phone I have I believe is originally Verizon but was unlocked and flashed to something else before I bought it on ebay. I want to flash it because this phone does not get any OTA updates including security updates at all. Now when I try to flash it to Android 10 this error pops up (Error: 0x6004, CrossDL, OPEN_US>VZW_US) no matter if I upgrade or refurb in LGUP. I'm following the guides here and some have mentioned this error but I have not found a solution.
LG up v1.16.03
DLL v1.9.39.7
Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Look for LG up version 1.14. you'll have to do a part DL for it to work.
