Leica camera is bringing completely NEW LEVEL for the mobile photography with Redmi Note 10 Pro (sweet).
EDIT 20230304 -------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have just extracted The BEST working Leica Camera Mod version from MiuiVersexV ROM.
The Sharpness slider in this version in Pro mode have the best accuracy and thanks of that the JPGs quality is as Good as from probably the best tweaked GCam Mods.

EDIT: Detailed Leica tests & compare with GCam #1 here
EDIT 20230227----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today I tested another OSS ROM with Leica camera Mod preinstalled and probably this is one of the best OSS ROM I have tested up to the moment!
Lineage OS 20 (Android 13) with Leica camera Mod beta 12 4.7.221212.1
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recently I have tested Leica camera on a 2 OSS based ROMs and Leica is working perfectly!
1. RiceDroid v10.2 - OFFICIAL | Android 13, Updated: 25/02/'23 coming with Leica camera Mod 4.7.221121.2
available from the Redmi Note 10 Pro Telegram group here
2. crDroid v9.2 OFFICIAL | Android 13 available here coming with a bit Older version of the Leica camera Mod, but you can easily install the Leica camera Mod 4.7.221121.2 available as a Magisk module here.
I'm using this configuration and the latest version of the Leica camera mod works probably a bit better ...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been using and experimenting with many different ROMs in order to find the best working MIUI Camera version on a AOSP based ROM like the well known crDroid or Lineage OS and etc.
I have invested hundreds of hours experimenting with dozens off different GCam Mods and configurations.
I have to say that after 1.5 years of looking I have found it!
The Leica camera Mod is really the Top of the Top camera app for the sweet camera hardware!!!
Few days ago as usual I experimented with few different new ROMs and in the Redmi Note 10 Pro Telegram group I found the MIUI 12 Verse ROM
According to the XDA rules of you like you can download this ROM from the link published above.
Very strange but this ROM doesn't have a thread on our forum here?
The MUIU Verse ROM is delivering Android 12 OS and is working just perfect.
It offer a brilliant level of MIUI customization, it's completely MIUI debloated and clean, the battery life is perfect, but most important it comes with Leica camera v.4.7.23012 Mod from Sevtinge
Can I use the Leica Camera app separately, not flashing this ROM?
If you are using a MIUI based ROM probably YES, but you have to download the Leica Mod from Sevtinge from the Github link below and test is it working OK or not.
I'm using the Leica camera in the easy way just flashing the whole ROM
Leica camera v.4.7.23012 Mod from Sevtinge: https://github.com/a406010503/Miui_Camera/releases
The pre-installed Leica camera is working very stable. I have tested it mainly shutting pictures and videos in the Pro camera mode but I have tested briefly the all other modes and haven't found any problems.
When I was using the MIUI Camera, I mainly shoot RAW in Pro mode and after that I use Lightroom to edit and export the final images.
With Leica camera I found that I don't have to do it, because the customization and the configuration level in the app are SO POWERFUL that now the produced jpg images are so GOOD and almost ready for publishing, that I don't have to spend more time with RAW editing in Lightroom.
In the second post below I'll make a detailed review of all the configurations I use in the app for producing my jpg images.
Shortly:
Leica Vibrant and Authentic color modes
Compete control with sliders over the Saturation, Sharpness and Contrast
More Options & LAB Options menus unlocked in the Camera Settings
Supermoon mode
All other advanced functions from the MIUI Camera are available and working
The 108mp mode is working OK like in the original MIUI Camera
The jpg images produced from Leica Camera app are just Awesomely GOOD!
They are ages better than the jpg produced from the original MIUI Camera and much much better than the best tweaked GCam Mod available for Redmi Note 10 Pro.
The level of the color and the detail in images are Awesome.
Finally we face the ability easily to customize the Camera app in our phone in order to produce jpg images as we like it: more Vibrant, or more Natural, more smooth or with sharper details and etc.
I highly recommend you to test the new Leica camera available in this Android 12 based ROM available from the links provided above.

Hello my friend
So it's a ROM which you're promoting not only the cam?
The cam with standard settings or what you've tweaked?
How is bb of the ROM, screenshots?
Thanks @lubo777

Hello @Laptapper , my old friend, nice to meet you in the forum again!
I have started this forum thread in order to share my experience with the Leica camera app, but the specific ROM above is working also surprisingly good despite that it's a MIUI based ROM ...
I hope that soon it will be able to be a standalone app so that we can install it on other custom roms....

Custom what? Custom AOSP? Custom MIUI?
Custom AOSP A13
"Now you can purchase the new version of our camera (with advanced settings for @romanyalta and all the magic features) via the PayPal platform!"
So much promises, and first sentence over there; Pay for Settings. Much wow...
doesn't sound serious at all.
wake me up once it is freely available and working on any AOSP based ROM. otherwise, GCams still the way to go.
I'm a GCam user and tester for 2-3 years and based on my experience have to say that Leica camera app is the best Camera app for our Camera hardware!
No GCam version & custom configuration can compete with Leica camera. Fact.
I'm using Leica camera app coming freely preinstalled on the custom MIUI ROM above.
Xiaomi is doing all it's best to stop spreading the Leica camera MOD on older hardware like our Redmi Note 10 Pro because the app is bringing new life to the older hardware .. : )
not gonna install and use any miui rom ever.
either it works on AOSP or it doesn't even exist in my eyes. opinions on that may differ, but that's my point.
I understand very well! I'm also a AOSP ROM strong believer, but I'm afraid Leica camera app will not be available soon on AOSP ...
P.S. This ROM actually is pretty good for a MIUI ROM ... debloated well, fast, high level of customization, good battery life and YES ... Leica
That's very bold claim Lubo. Show us some comparison of some good gcam mod from different thread on this forum vs leica. Plenty of people want to see real life difference between these two.
I'm on pulkits lineage 20 and leica app is implementet. it's very good in functions but for me picture quality isn't good as gcam....
So I'm waiting for lubos tricks and settings to check....

Hello there! :fingers-crossed: This thread is about photo comparing CM vs Stock. I've seen many users asking and won't flashing CM based ROMs on their OP3 because of camera quality. It is true , camera quality on stock OOS ROM is great. So im asking/ welcoming for users who have flashed & using CM bases ROM to share the photos they to compare the photo quality. So purpose of this thread is to help/ to get a better understanding about photo quality of CM based ROM. This will many of you guys to change their mind and flash CM ROMs..
1. Post only photos that have captured using CM based ROM
2. It would be great if you guys can post the current CM ROM you are using..
With today's nightly, all photo modes are supported with Snap.
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/154668/
This means that quality should be on par with OxygenOS now.
op3: Support for OP3 camera modes
* OnePlus decided that scene modes didn't really mean anything anymore
and used them for mode switching in their camera HAL. That's fine,
we can deal with it. And make new ones of our own.
* This patch will set up a number of useful modes:
- Auto: no magic besides lowlight fixups
- ClearShot: the "Super" multi-frame composite algorithm
- HDR: hipster ****
- Best Shot: auto-HDR and scene detection
- ChromaFlash: multi-frame night shot using flash
- Burst: enables continuous shot mode by long-press shutter

ChromaFlash sounds like a great feature!
https://www.qualcomm.com/news/snapd...a-features-add-dslr-effects-your-mobile-phone
Let's wait and see, the nightly should be available in a few hours.
I am still on OOS 3.2.2 because of the camera, any photos with the upcoming nightly are appreciated!

Do you mean the version that will come out? (I imagine tonight...)
Cmq, I enclose some of my test about different cameras I've tried; official rom CM13 by Grarak, build 2016 - 08-02.
Camera software tested:
A better camera
Cyanogen
Footej
Fv Room 5
Google camera
Manual camera
Open camera
Pro Shot
Photos taken in different situations with automatic settings; but in photographs containing plants and flowers you can see very well the artifacts caused by the software.
There is also a photo taken in raw with Pro Shot and then developed in PNG; it is not the highest quality, but the situation improves significantly.
P.S.: For proper evaluation, the pictures are to be displayed at 100% of their size (I use Photoshop).
Download:

I am talking about the nightly which is up next. It should be online in about two hours judging by cm's buildbot.
Currently the nightly for the op2 is being built.
edit: the nightly is building now, maybe an hour to go.
Quick suggestion guys,it would be great if you can upload it to imgur or and post something..Zip files also great to...Thank your guys help .. really appreciate..

In the 4th folder there are pictures taken in "low light" conditions, with ISO 2500. But I do not have photos taken at night because I formatted (I must now install the new cyanogen rom )
Ok, new test with new Cyanogen camera. You will find the information in the file.

Dude try this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/development/arter97-s-custom-built-cyanogenmod-13-t3439217
Camera is really great. I couldn't try low light photography. But i would say camera is 80%-90% closer to OOS..
PS
Camera has some exposure issue, focusing issue..So im back to OOS
Hello Community! Greetings from Bangladesh.
There has been lots of buzz regarding Oneplus 3 Camera. For a great device like One Plus 3, Camera performance is one of the thing that many users dont like. I meant to say, since the device uses a decent sensor, a well developed camera app could have boosted the camera performance more. To me the camera performance is not that bad, but still it could have been much better. We saw Dev like SultanXDA can do magic and can really push a device's full potential to the maximum.
I was hoping if someone could have drawn the attention of one plus developers to make the camera app a bit more rich. I mean OOS camera doesnt really have that many options. We have manual mode, but its not complete, there is some limitation. I m not talking about some fancy filters here. If we look at Camera option of Sultan's CM 13, it has way more customization option than Stock OOS. Since Oneplus has not yet been friendly regarding camera Blob's and stuffs it has become pretty tough for the developers to implement something for the custom roms. Its been long, but except for Sultan's CM 13 camera performance in other custom roms are yet pretty much disappointing. We have Stock OOS camera port for custom rom, but it has some limitations.
So what i m asking here is One Plus Dev team should focus on their camera app. For example- Nubia Devices a great camera app which can make use of the sensor pretty well. Similarly Lenovo SnapIt camera has lots of customization too.
I m welcoming discussion from user community here regarding this matter. Please comment about the features that you want to have in Stock OOS camera app. Thus we can let OOS dev team know about our demand.
Thanks.
I've ported over a version of the Google camera..https://www.cyanogenmods.org/google-camera-oppo-find-x3-pro-gcam/
Google camera 8.1
Below is is an example of the only photos I've managed to take so far. However the Google camera port definitely has a more natural tone. The oppo camera has a more vivid look to it
Have you found a way to support auxiliary lenses ?
I prefer Oppo's colour science over GCam there.
There are a couple of good X3 pro v pixel 5 comparisons out there on YouTube. There is no reason to want the Google cameras.
Part of the joy of android is being able to play around with stuff like this regardless of weather you need it or not, don't you think?
okokok,very thanks
What is the status of GCam port for X3 Pro? Everyone happy using stock camera?
Is this only mod working or we can try many other ports as well?

There's many new builds released like MGC and LMC that work good also without an XML, for MGC you can download the aweme package that can shot with wide lens but have a bug on normal lens, I prefer LMC for normal shot in day light, you can find all simply searching on telegram
I'm looking to upgrade to the Note 10 Pro from my Note 8 Pro.
One of the main reasons why i don't like running a custom ROM in my Begonia (Note 8 Pro) is the fact that i loose a bunch of Camera features and even the ability to use the macro lens.
The devs in the Begonia thread and us Beta testers have risked our devices and had spent an unreasonable amount of time on getting custom ROM's running and to make much of the features functional in that device. But i know since this one has a Snapdragon processor, much of the resources needed to port features from other devices to this is already there.
I know the advantages of running a custom ROM. But i would like it if someone explains to me what device-specific OEM features that you are not able to use once you flash a custom ROM in the Note 10 Pro?
Appreciate the feedback!
1) cRDroid (has Mi CAM too)
2) ArrowOS
3) DroidOnTime
what device-specific OEM features that you are not able to use once you flash a custom ROM in the Note 10 Pro?
Not sure, don't use too many frills that it has. For 1, I think the IR blaster might not work. Not sure though.

Don't take adventure on your ass.
Indonesia ROM and you will be happy.
In terms of speed, smoothness and lack of problems, nothing beats this firmware.
And the camera is pretty good. Well, if it is infused correctly.
Good luck.
This is my first MIUI based phone and I bought it as a secondary device to only to flash a custom ROM.
I tried the latest Pixel Experience Plus (Aug 22 initial OSS build) and it I couldn't be happier (Well, maybe a bit if I could get a 108MP mode in GCam). The performance and battery life are fantastic. Not crash or moments of lag, stutters. So snappy, way better than MIUI.
GCam is working for Regular 12MP, wide angle, tele macro and portrait. The night shots are better than on stock. In case you need a 108MP mode, there is ANX camera. The quality might not match the stock 108MP, but it's a usable option. The selfies are also bright unlike GCam, though GCam has way more detail in the selfies than ANX or even stock.
I'm going to test Crdoid or dotOS soon to see what a degoogled experience is like, but I reckon it is going to be similar to PE+. PE+ has set a benchmark for me.
Also, a couple of bugs I've noticed on PE+ which might or might not stay with other ROMs is:
1. Auto brightness is a bit off and goes lower or higher than it should at times.
2. The front cam was crashing when I turned on face unlock. But because I prefer the fingerprint scanner, turned it off and no issues since then.
3. Features like AOD and Pocket mode have been known to be battery hogs, but I don't use them anyway.

Give you some information. Xiaomi released A11 kernel for begonia a few days and camera problems (maybe) can be fixed, wait for next custom rom A11 based before get new rmn10p.
And custom use ANX and Gcam, some problems maybe same with other device not only rmn8p.

Right now I'm testing few different Camera apps, ANXCamera + many differenet GCam MODS.
I'm looking for the best GCam MOD ... I think that I have found it!
The ANX Camera quality is the same as the stock MIUI camera ... have made a lot of test of both and have to say that ANX isn't bad at all!
You can see all my test and findings in this GCam Mods for Redmi Note 10 Pro tread here.

Thank you, i will try
I decided to buy the phone and see after reading all your thoughts. I specially want to see if the high refresh rate works well with an AOSP ROM too because that's one of the main parts of the phone that i want to take advantage of. And I would be happy as @dnana9 mentioned if there's options for me to take advantage of all the lenses. Lets see how it goes.
You won't regret it. I have been hopping from stock to Pixel Experience to Xiaomi.EU to AOSP Extended, and every ROM has minor quirks, but overall better than stock MIUI. And beteeen the 5-10 options you have, you should find the sweet spot.

Haven't tested other AOSP ROMs than the AOSP Extended but have tested few MIUI based one and have to say that AOSP Extended is super truper fast!
I'm using the same ROM on my other phone Redmi Note 7 and the ROM there is also so fast and smooth as a pretty new car from Tesla ...

Don't take adventure on your ass.
Indonesia ROM and you will be happy.
In terms of speed, smoothness and lack of problems, nothing beats this firmware.
And the camera is pretty good. Well, if it is infused correctly.
Good luck.

....I also like the Indonesia ROM. But what do you mean "...if it is infused correctly..."
Greetings, my dear friends! As a proud owner of the Mi 11 Ultra, sporting the MIUI Global 13.0.5.0. SKAINXM stable ROM, I must admit that its camera quality is nothing short of exceptional. However, I'm keen to explore ways to elevate the photo-taking experience to new heights. Unfortunately, the camera doesn't come equipped with processing software to enhance the images, unlike its Samsung counterparts, which is causing some pixelation issues while zooming in on shots.
I did try to install the LEICA Filter edition of the Mi Stock camera App, but alas, the installation didn't go through. I've also explored other camera apps available on Google Play, but they pale in comparison to the stock camera app.
Therefore, I would be forever grateful if any esteemed users of this phone could share their insights on how to further improve its already-impressive performance.
Regards.
Not sure if it will help, I'm on MIUI 14 Weekly(23.3.7) from Xiaomi.eu.
What I have always done in all versions is to experiment in every situation between Forced HDR instead of Auto, AI on and off and 50mp photos. The same with videos.
Overall, HDR auto and AI on usually have more consistent photos.
