In the above thread, does this method work with the stock sony Xperia T firmwares
please can you post your firmware version (stock only, no cm, no aokp or custom roms) and let me know
if it worked.
Basically I want to access my wifes phone and check her messages as she has been acting weird
I tried the service menu trick on her phone but it didn't work which means her phone has more up to date firmware i believe
EDIT found this

Just tried that for you, it didn't work; the Emergency dial screen wouldn't accept the *#*#73556673#*#* code.
The lock screen WAS disabled whilst the Demo was active but as pressing the power button to wake the screen was immediately rerunning the Demo I'm sure that would get noticed. (Xperia T firmware 9.1.A.1.141).
Might have time to test out the 2nd link you posted later.

1) Did the demo run?
2) Did you then press home button to go to the home screen?
3) Did you then bring up dialer and type in the demo code again to disable the demo?

In the video when the demo is running he taps it to bring up the home button, did this work on yours?
Thanks v much

1) The Demo ran when the phone was already unlocked and I typed in the code from the dialer - on first run it even prompts you that it will change the screen unlock password.
2) Yes pressing the home button went to the Home screen (at this point if you switch the screen off then back on the Demo reruns).
3) Yes I did.
The code doesn't seem to work at the Emergency Call screen on my Xperia T, or perhaps the phone he's using in the Video doesn't have the most current firmware.

It is possible you can test the zip file method?
I'm on my way to work now, I'll try the 2nd thread a little later. I'll have to try Method B in that thread because I don't currenty have CWM recovery on my phone which is required for Method A using the Zip file.

ahh ok, neither does her phone so that wont work.... never mind thanks for your help
Had a thought what if I flash an older version of firmware which has the service menu security hole?
Would just have simply plug her phone in, flash it, and then let it restart (wiping only cache and dalvik, if they are available in stock recovery)
So she won't lose any of her data and won't be any wiser?
hmmm....

I've tested a similar method on windows that worked on my T on JB.
all it needed was a
adb shell
su
rm /data/system/gesture.key

This of course has limitations, the device needs to be rooted and usb debugging must be enabled

Well I suspected that USB debugging would need to be enabled to use the B Method in that thread you linked and what Matt has said Tally's with this; I've now had time to try and can confirm this.
Matt's commands worked when I substituted 'password.key' instead of 'gesture.key' in the 3rd line (I had a PIN lock set) - 'gesture.key' seems to be for when a pattern lock is set, and 'password.key' for PIN lock.
Method B in that thread is missing the 'su' line that Matt has above, so failed with 'Permission Denied' when trying to delete the .key files - works once you add the su command.
Got this phone just today. Dual Sim and such. Put software page as an attachment if anyone is interested. Also got a fast wireless charger as pre-order "gift"

you think it is possible to install a normal 920i version on the 9208 ??! so it work as a normal one sim note 5 ??
i have same question too... can i flash 920i 920c rom on SM-N9208?
Give me $800 and i will try it for you. No one is going to try that for you risking an $800 phone.
I have the SM-N9208 and I heard that you can flash any rom to it as long as you have root on the phone since the phone is no different then any other model besides software. BTW I seen someone post on another site that they have the N9208 running a t-mobile rom. I've been busy working and next week I have a few days off so I'll try it myself then

Hi,
I always found it saddening to notice EZCast5G (the "original") is updated at first and their knock offs are updated way later (as of writing this, there is 16602000 for EZCast5G, 16403000 for MiraScreen5G).
The update tool let's you easily analyze the update process. And if you fake the reply from this URL with (for example) miniweb to always dish out latest EZCast5G firmware then your knock off will become an original.
These are the requests made for a legit EZCast5G and a MiraScreen5G:
Code:
[COLOR="Purple"]curl http://www.iezvu.com/upgrade/ota_rx.php -d "{\"version\":1,\"vendor\":\"ezcast5g\",\"mac_address\":\"authorshxj\",\"softap_ssid\":\"000000-00000000\",\"firmware_version\":\"16602000\"}"[/COLOR]
[COLOR="Blue"]curl http://www.iezvu.com/upgrade/ota_rx.php -d "{\"version\":1,\"vendor\":\"am8252_nand_mirascreen\",\"mac_address\":\"authorshxj\",\"softap_ssid\":\"000000-00000000\",\"firmware_version\":\"16403000\"}"[/COLOR]
These are the official replys where you need to always dish out the first one and the update tool will do the rest:
Code:
[COLOR="Purple"]{"ota_conf_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/ezcast5g/ezcast5g-16602000.conf","ota_fw_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/ezcast5g/ezcast5g-16602000.gz","ota_enforce":true}[/COLOR]
[COLOR="Blue"]{"ota_conf_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/am8252_nand_mirascreen/am8252_nand_mirascreen-16403000.conf","ota_fw_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/am8252_nand_mirascreen/am8252_nand_mirascreen-16403000.gz","ota_enforce":true}[/COLOR]
When I opened mine it even read "5G EZCAST V1.4" on it - so I was pretty sure it should work. And it did. So for $17 one year ago I got myself a neat working EZCast5G. The MiraScreen5G gets into bootloader mode by pressing the one and only button right when you plug it into USB - no need to shorten pin 19 and 20 of the AM8252.
Thank you.
Some questions.
How to use this curl command with miniWeb?
Hi,
BUMP
No honestly, could you elaborate how this works ? Have 2 MiraScreen5G dongles...
Ender
Hi,
with some help from Chatty and another forum i got it done !
First i needed to add a line to my hosts file:
(On windows its found in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc)
Code:
127.0.0.1 www.iezvu.com
Then i downloaded miniweb and created a file containing the desired server answer.
Miniwebs web root resides in the "htdocs" folder by default, so i created a folder named "upgrade" and in that folder a file named "ota_rx.php.
I edited that file to contain this text:
Code:
{"ota_conf_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/ezcast5g/ezcast5g-16602000.conf","ota_fw_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/ezcast5g/ezcast5g-16602000.gz","ota_enforce":true}
I fired up miniweb with the parameter "-p 80" to listen on the stabdard web port.
THEN i started the EZ Updater app, connected my dongle in Flash mode and VOILA it detected the version i wanted it to detect.
So it flashed (took forever with several loops) my MiraScreen5G to a EZCast5G !!!!
After that initial update the dongle detected a newer version and updated okay.
Please note that AFTER the update you cannot get into flash mode by simply pressing the key. I assume that key is not considered existing anymore since the EZCast5G has none as well
So for further flash-fun we need to short the Pin like its descived by Chatty !
THANKS Chatty & all,
Ender

Hey Guys,
If someone knows, please share the knowledge.
Few Months ago when I was updating the firmware, my Dongle died due to power cut.
after reconnecting my PC couldn't read the version of my dongle. Today I wanted to revive my Dongle But have no to little experience on the Windows Debugging. I know my Dongle is not dead and it has no firmware, I also know that EZCast Repair tool can Flash the Firmware to it, I can download the firmware using the OP, I can also see that The App has options for Manually flashing the Firmware.
But I don't know how and what to do to access the areas shown in the Screenshot.
anyone please help me and point me to right direction.
Thanks in Advance.

No I found no help.
All I need is access the flashing area.
I had 2 tools laying around (think i deleted those)
One was older and directly opened the firmware flashing page, but that doesn't have the partition table of My Dongle.
And the other tool which have the partition table, opens on main page (which is automated and does nothing)
If somehow i could access the firmware flashing area on the newer tool then I could revive my dongle.
If your dongle contained older chip of Action Electronics (earlier than 52) then the older tool can flash your dongle.

Yes, of course, if the firmware is faulty, the device is not recognized and does not work. You must follow the Firmware Recovery Procedure. The device will most likely be repaired. Unfortunately, unless you specify a specific type, you can't be specifically advised on how to proceed.

I have a phone I brought over to T-Mobile. An Unlocked SM-920A from AT&T. There is a must have feature I need from T-Mobile to get the T-Mobile Signal Booster to work. The signal booster works fine but, my ATT phone does not recognize or see the device because it does not have the T-Mobile apps on it. Is there a way to make this happen?
My Advice
If If I was you I would do a clean install with stock firmware for T-Mobile... You can find the Firmware at sammobile.com download usb drivers for android and latest version of odin on your pc... you can get them at Samsung.com take your phone and go to device info in settings.... tab on the build number 7 times to open developer options... go into dev options turn on oem unlock and enable usb debugging then do a full backup on a cloud server of your choice or on your pc... wherever you feel comfortable.... Then power your phone off and wait about three or four minutes then hold power vol up and home all together until your phone goes into recovery mode... once in there delete partition wipe cache... now your phone is just like a pc with no operating system... take the firmware you downloaded and unzip it until you haveyou the individual tar or md5 files.... unzip and install odin on your pc... be sure to let it run as admin .... I kmow yousaid you know about pc systems so you should know what I'm talking about... if not right click on the odin exe file and click open as admin load your unzipped files into the corresponding places in odin AP PIT ..... you should not need to change any settings.... Make sure you installed the usb drivers you downloaded earlier.... take your phone hold power vol down and home till a blue screen pops warning about installing custom roms.... push up to go in download mode... take and tether your phont to your pc with usb cable you prob use to charge your phone.... after its tethered odin should turn light blue or yellow in COM 1 and say your connected... now just clickstart and let odin work his magic... if you put the files in correctly you should have a new phone with all T Mobile Firmware in a couple minutes you will see a progress bar on your phone as odin is flashing the rom When done restart your phone as normal and enjoy the correct firmware for your phone... if you screw up I'm not even sure if you can use your backup as a recovery from a clean install... I have the same phone SM-G920AUCU6EQCF thats with android 7.0... I have not installed the update to 7.0.1 yet because I can not find a way to root it yet.. So I am going to try to downgrade to the stock 5.0.1 so I can root and install TWRP recovery I do know that if you go in developer mode and turn on the OEM unlock thats your bootloader.... then you can unlock your phone so you can add rom for any carrier... refer to thread here in forumns about how to do that... then just follow my instructions and it should work. I did make one mistake in my instructions... Dont mess with PIT settings just 4 files BL CS AP CSC to load in odin

Oem unlock only "enables" bootloader unlocking. You still need an actual unlock method. There has never been one for g920a to my knowledge...
So, basically, there is no way I can get these ATT apps removed and get T-Mobile's installed?>
heres your method

This appears to be a carrier unlock site, not a bootloader unlock method.

Were you successful in your attempt to downgrade back to the original 5.01? Mine has as baseline of 6.01. But, I can't find any of the original stock OEM files to attempt it myself. Was really curious if you were successful in your quest?
Thanks and have a great day!
Hi,
I bought from a person a watch 5 pro model SM-R920X, but it seems it's stuck in demo mode.
Is there anything i can do to remove demo mode ? Maybe with ODIN?
Thanks in advance!
If I'm not mistaken, then the model with the letter X is the Live Demo Units. That is, it's not just a Demo Mode, but a Demo device for the store. And it needs to be reflashed. But the question is, is there the necessary firmware for this. As far as I remember, even on the Galaxy Watch 4 version, the firmware appeared a year later !!!
I succesfully removed Demo Mode on my Watch5 Pro, PM if someone needs solution.

Watches doesnt have DEMO Flags on any such enabled as Phones.
Just find the correct firmware - and flash it using NetOdin.
Since NetOdin we have is old, You may have to edit the firmware as 1 TAR file to flash.

Boot to recovery and then reboot I think might work
So people, here is the solution for your Watch 5pro:
1. Download the firmware itself and unpack the archive with it. After unpacking the archive, the firmware file will weigh about 3.6 GB.
2. We transfer the watch into bootmod. To do this, hold down both buttons for 7-9 seconds until the Rebooting ... message appears and immediately press the upper button 2 times.
2.1. In the menu that appears, select the “Download (Wireless)” item with a few clicks on the top key and confirm the selection with a long press.
2.2. After that, you will see the Wireless-downloading menu. The default will be WPS mode, change it to AP mode by double-clicking the upper button. The watcg is ready for flash.
3. The watch has created a WiFi access point - we connect to it.
3.1. Open NetOdin and wait a couple of seconds until the watch's IP address appears at the top left.
3.2. Click on the AP button in the Netodin software and select the firmware file (unpacked from the archive). We are waiting for the software to process the file.
3.3. Before pressing the Start button, it is important to make sure that the watch is charged more than 60-70% (50% will be enough but not less).
Are you charged? Then click Start and wait for the download to finish.
The process itself takes about 20-30 minutes. At the end of the firmware, the watch should reboot, and PASS should appear in NetOdin.
