So with the new 256gb version
Will i get minimum 2 years updates?
Or because its only memory change updates will stop same as older models?
Ps. Howlong we can expect updates still on older versions?

Is there a difference by using custom roms between 128 and 256 Version?
Read there are differences at the hardware and maybe custom roms cause problems

No difference, I'm running LOS on a 256GB variant. The only problem is if your phone have a display that doesn't have driver support in custom ROMs.

Can you further elaborate this? If I get the 128GB variant, am I always guaranteed to get the display driver that's supported by custom ROMs, or is this a lottery regardless of the variant?
This is a summary from what I've read from a Telegram group:
From when the RN10Pro was released it apparently went some through modifications.
Sometimes it was the battery, on other occasions it was the motherboard.
Late 2022, early 2023, the display was updated but Xiaomi hasn't made the drivers available yet, hence recoveries aren't working properly. You can install them but touch functionality doesn't work.

Preciesly, there's no way to tell if your device has a compatible display until it arrives in your hands. Purely luck at this point until Xiaomi release touchscreen drivers for the new display(s).
I just bought the 8/256 model last week, went through all the hoops to unlock the bootloader, flashed twrp and a crdroid custom rom and my touch screen doesn't work. Very upset about this. I'm in the process of returning the phone to get a refund. This is ridiculous.

Is this 'goodix-ts screen/touch', the good or the bad one? How do I check the hardware on sweet? I have one 2021 model that works with custom ROMs and now ordered a second. Thanks.
goodix-ts should work with any custom rom, it´s the focaltech which isn´t supported yet. I used Hwinfo app to check hardware.
Is there any sort of difference between the two displays? Is one better than the other?
Just got an update notification (8/256GB) Global 13.0.16 to 14.0.1.0 TKFMIXM, 3.7GB. Not sure to apply since many reports of 14 not being so stable.

Hi folks. :) It came to the attention of some users that Xiaomi mixes a lot the sensors that are used in this device. It´s indeed a lottery. Although this might not greatly affect conventional user experience, there are still some differences...

It does not depend on storage. Some lately released (late-2022-early2023) RN10P have different (unsupported) hardware.
FYI, was able to flash the latest Xiaomi.eu ROM (xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote10Pro_V14.0.1.0.TKFMIXM_v14-13.zip) via fastboot and touch went back to working as it should... it even managed to keep the crDroid recovery, which works in full with just the hardware buttons.
I don't care much for MIUI ROMs (they're generally too intrusive and laggy for my taste) but I guess this is it for the time being...
EDIT:
OrangeFox R11.1_3 Unofficial recovery works fine on Focaltech devices:

Hi there. I have a Xiaomi Mi 8 (from Three) which I have currently got the region set to India, mainly so that I can use Face Unlock, Theme Store, etc.
What I'd like to know is, if I continue to use the Mi 8 under the India region, will I still get the MIUI 10 update when it's released, as its not set to UK?
Thank you for any help on this matter.
Unlock your BL, install MIUI EU and you can freely choose any themes you want without any stupid restriction from Xiaomi.

Thank you for your response, but I haven't a clue how to unlock the BL and where I'd get a non hacked version of MIUI EU from.
I'd probably end up bricking the phone. lol
I'm just worried that if I keep using it under a different region, I won't receive the update.

Usually updates are pushed to phones based on the build number. If yours is a UK variant then it'll have a UK variant build number (most likely). I wouldn't have thought the region setting you put in when first starting & setting up the phone would make any difference. But don't quote me on that...

Many thanks for that.
I initially bought this phone as a work phone, but I actually enjoy using it more than my S8+, plus I've heard that MIUI 10 (plus Android Pie) is way better than MIUI 9.6.
Thanks again.

I can confirm that MIUI 10 based on Pie is WAY better. Just the "OK Google" hotword detection to fix and it'll be pretty much perfect.
I'm in the UK, use mine with both my work and personal SIM in - I'm running the latest ROM from Xiaomi.eu (MIUI 10.2 - Weekly 8.11.23).
It's great.
Also have installed the custom GCam for it, which is superb! I use the Xiaomi cam for video and portrait mode and the Google Camera for everything else - night mode is seriously impressive.

I bought my daughter the Honor 10 for her last birthday. It's a great looking phone with a very good camera/cameras. The back of the Honor 10 (blue) has to be seen to be believed, it looks amazing.
I must admit, the Xiaomi does have the edge when it comes to the screen, but it is a close battle.
I do love the camera slightly more (it's very close) on the Xiaomi too, but everything just seems a little more stable with the Honor 10 and it's EMUI skin on Android 8. I've had a few older apps that have refused to run on the Xiaomi.
That will hopefully change on the next Xiaomi update.

As no one is not giving a answer, so I'll try to help you out.
It's no matter what you have chosen, if you have the stock recovery, you'll always receive OTA updates. You can not change the stock recovery without an unlocked bootloader which can be achieved by the official tool provided by Xiaomi, for further information, use Google.
Unlocked bootloader gives you access to all functions of your device, and this means that you can use even a Pixel device Android "mod", and it's the closest to the native Android.
If you are using IM apps too often, you'll notice that your notifications are not being delivered just in time. also, MIUI has tons of bloatwares and limitations that won't allow you to use your device freely, and appearantly Xiaomi is collecting some "not innocent" data from your phone, so you might want to consider your privacy. These are just my perspective as an user that was on Android for 7 years, I hope you will enjoy your device.
Have a great night.

There are a lot of very talented devs from India here on xda, so hopefully many of the POCO F1 devs will buy this phone and move their excellent work to this.
Mine has finally arrived and so far it's great, have removed as much bloat as I can and just waiting for the 7 days to finish when I can get the EU ROM on at least. Personally I would like to see official LOS on my phone.

No.
This from the Xiaomi android q beta webpage
Redmi K20 Pro:
1. Does not support fingerprint module.
2. “Settings” app crashes after user selects “App & Notifications” and shows a notification that says “Settings keeps stopping”
3. Unable to switch between multiple users.
4. There might be instances where videos downloaded from the Google Drive does not show length of video in the photo gallery.
5. Bluetooth search might not work for some specific keyboards. A known failed case is Logitech’s k380 keyboard.

Firmware: V10.3.1.0.PFKINXM

raphaelin is the device name of the Indian version of the K20 Pro. This hasn't been released yet, so there shouldn't be any official ROM's with that device name. This suggests that it isn't an official ROM. Did you buy it with a pre-installed global ROM?

I know nothing about hardware bus scanners, however it would be recommended to install another ROM from a legitimate source. Your phone will most likely be unlocked already. The xiaomi.eu developer ROM 9.6.27 has had a few people say that it's stable. I'm still waiting to be able to unlock the bootloader, so haven't tried it myself yet.
Thanks guys, you almost convince me that it is a ROM issue. My phone is unlocked, which is obviously very good news.
Now, the question where to get the FULL ROM, and not the updates. I'm on V10.3.1.0, some people have 10.3.11.0 here.

Good question! Not sure, better to ask not in this thread, but in separate thread will be much faster response. Are you planning to install TWRP? Because if you plan to do so, ask how you can try to do this with TWRP.
I can confirm that xiaomi.eu 10.3.12 fixed my issue with NFC and also I can tell that 10.3.9 chinese rom does not have issue with NFC either (why Chinese ROM you may ask? - because it is full image ROM, and initially I made mistake with TWRP did not decrypt the filesystem, I did not know the password at the that time which was my PIN, so I flashed it twice) Avoiding my mistake you can go directly to xiaomi.eu 10.3.12 with TWRP.

Hi
Recently i bought xiaomi 11 ultra Chinese version with global rom about a week ago, coming from OnePlus 8 Pro (that was my main device for last 8 months).
Last week i noticed slow touch response and i feel the touch function was very slower than OnePlus 8 pro (120 Hz refresh rate and FHD+)
I have disabled accidental edges touch and restored the original theme.... No difference
Anyone faced same issue? Any advise ?
My xiaomi 11 ultra rom is Indonesian official rom that i was flashed after unlocking bootloader.
What a shame
I never tried this, i have a Chinese version with eu rom miui 12.5.12.0 and im amazed how good it function for me.
I like it better vs S21Ultra which i sold 3 weeks ago
I have Chinese with global too. I would say i had this one time when the tocuh response was **** and the display was lagging but then i locked and unlocked everything was normal.
It's a one time....other than that i see it very fluid.

i was using EU Rom on Mi 11 Pro from beginning, then i sold it for Mi 11 Ultra, using China Stable rom now when waiting for unlock bootloader. I have to say it much smoother than EU rom.

No this is not the recovery rom, this is just the firmware you need the recovery zip package. Once downloaded you can push the update with the 3 dots in the updater app choosing "choose installation package"

Beta is the weekly update, everything is not always stable because of... Ya Beta.
Stable version is ya, stable... And get updates every 2-3 month around BUT, if you like smooth and stable this is for you (like me).

It is stable beta yes. Honestly I updated without issues, everything seems perfect
As title, i just bought myself a realme gt 2- global version, everything is in general quite good, from screen, camera to battery life. But realme multitasking is terrible, with 8gb ram but i cant keep more than 5 apps in background. I wonder if this smartphone running snapdragon 888 can have a custom rom something like pixel experience?
I do not think the bootloader can easily be unlocked, especially on the Global version.
As far as I understandm the Chinese devices allow for the bootloader to be unlocked so that Chinese resellers can flash the global ROM and ship the phones internationally.
Perhaps Realme will change their minds and allow us to unlock the bootloader and make custom ROMs, however I would not count on it.
it will be available for sure in the near future.
