I have a 2017 Honda CR-V that has support for displaying text messages over Bluetooth and separate from Android Auto. From what I can piece together, it seems like this is based on the Bluetooth Message Access Profile. I can't seem to get this to work on my Samsung Galaxy S23 (the option is disabled on the CR-V head unit when paired with my phone) and I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction? Is this possible and, if so, how can I get this set up?
Thanks!

I just got a JVC KD-BT1 stereo installed in my car. It has all kinds of bluetooth features to work with cell phones. One of the features I dearly want is the ability to automatically display text messages on the stereo's screen. Supposedly the Kaiser/Tilt supports OPP (Object Push Protocol) which is required for this feature. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get it to work.
Has someone had any luck doing this sort of thing and could they post what settings are needed on the Kaiser side? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?
I picked up my new car yesterday (Seat Ibiza) only to find that my N1 will not pair with the installed bluetooth handsfree system. I can find the kit when searching for bluetooth devices (picks up as Seat_BT with a headphones symbol alongside) however selecting the 'pair & connect' option results in a messagebox stating "There was a problem pairing with Seat_BT" - no PIN code is requested.
I've tested the car with other devices (laptop, other phone) and the pairing is successful.
I've checked the compatibility listing with Seat and they list (from Dec 2009) the Hero and Magic as compatible (as at Android v1.5). I've also seen posts in Seat forums indicating that the HTC Desire pairs successfully with the Ibiza handsfree option.
My N1 is stock, unbranded running 2.2.1.
Can anyone here give me some insight into the differences in the bluetooth stacks / known issues with N1 bluetooth that may help me resolve this?
Is there a way of logging bluetooth pairing requests that will help me find the root cause of this issue?
TIA

I've resolved my own problem, so here's the approach for anyone else..
To pair the Seat kit with a Nexus One you need to do the following:
1. Find an app on the Android Market called "Bluetooth File Transfer" by Medieval Software
2. Install
3. Using the app (on the 'Remote Devices tab) initiate the pairing with the car
4. You will get the PIN prompt - enter the 1234 PIN
5. Once paired the app will begin transfering something (I think it's call history but not sure).
It will then report an error - don't worry about that.
6. Shutdown the app and uninstall it (it is no longer required).
7. Reboot the N1 (to clear out any remaining dregs of the app).
8. Phone should then connect and disconnect using the standard bluetooth functionality.
Not sure why this works, perhaps the app extends the default bluetooth stack, resolving the issue that prevents the prompt for the pair passkey.
I've not fully checked the level of functionality available, but I can definitely initiate a call to the last dialled number and answer incoming calls.
Hello all-
My Captivate runs on Froyo (stock AT&T). It has been rooted and also side loading enabled. Bluetooth has worked flawlessly ever since I got the phone on my Audi A8 built in bluetooth car kit.
Out of nowhere the BT car kit does not get the phone book anymore and only shows the "Dialed Numbers", "Missed calls" & "Received calls" entries with no name. (Just numbers).
I have reset the phone and installed everything from scratch to no avail. When I pair my phone with the car, I don't see that usual message "Allow phone book access" dialog box.
Any help?
130 views and no reply ( So is there no way to make the bluetooth device permission to allow access to phone book?

got the same issue with a VW, any help???
Hi,
I have a Lumia 920 and have loved Windows Phone since my HD7. Back in April I switched from an Audi A4 to an A6 and in my A4 I had successfully had the sms read and reply functionality working and found it a really useful feature. Since getting my A6 I haven't been able to get it to work, I receive a message and then get the notification from my phone through the car Bluetooth asking whether I want to read or ignore, but the car never picks up my response so I have to let it repeat three times and then it switches off.
I believe it's the in car system which isn't activating the microphone for my response due to a missing Bluetooth profile (sorry I'm not that clued up on Bluetooth specifics)? Can anyone help me identify what's missing so I can talk to Audi to see if they can help resolve this?
Thanks
Andrew

All I can say is, either wait for Nokia to release the Lumia Black update or sign up for the Microsoft Update Preview, which is the GDR3 Update some devices have gotten already.
I know this is a really specific topic but I have a 2020 GMC Sierra and an unlocked S21 Ultra. I can get it connected to my stereo in my truck but it will only do calls. When I go to the Galaxy icon on the stereo screen, it says no phone connected. But when I go to the "phone" icon it says Chris's Galaxy s21ultra connected". Is there a setting somewhere on my phone that is denying audio on my truck besides the permissions that it always asks for? When that came up I did give it permission. Any ideas or help would be great

I had the same issue with my 2020 GMC Acadia. How I fixed the issue the issue was to go into the Settings, Connections, Bluetooth and click on the gear icon next your listed vehicle. Make sure tlall options are checked off.
