LowMemoryKiller folder deleted!? (Redmi 9, Galahad/Lancelot) - Redmi 9 / Poco M2 Questions & Answers

Hello! I'm urgently writing as I've realized my "/sys/module/lowmemorykiller/" is gone. (I'm unsure what events led up to this moment) I'm having real bad issues with apps getting closed in the background and I suspect those issues are connected to the LMK module being absent! If it isn't linked to the phone specifically can someone please give me a backup of theirs or maybe tell me how to recover mine? (No, unfortunately I never made any backups...)

[Q] Are you affected by the gingerbread android os battery drain bug??

As far as I know, this bug is related to gingerbread and not by samsung, somehow it is triggered randomly (some say google maps, others say wifi or games) and the root cause is unknown, that's why some people haven't experience it, a quick temp solution is to restart the device but this is just terrible solution..if you are affected pls help spread the word so the issue becomes a high priority in google, the issue is already raised here since Feb 2011 and a lot of people have already experienced it (I myself experienced it although im using SGS1):
http: / / code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=15057
but it is still under medium priority, unbelievable! do you remember the SMS bug? google got pressured when it was spread in forums and news site..I think we can do the same here..let's raid android forums and android news site
here's the thread detailing the bug:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1039696
page not found :|
sorry please remove the spaces in the link..im not yet allowed to post external links since i have below 8 posts
I'am affected. Currently running Darky 10.1.
I'm still not sure how much google can do about it. Some google eployee stated that faulty drivers are responsible.
Two apps have already been identified to be responsible (Samsung Account and Samsung Update).
I installed Android Booster to identify the actual drain.
I recently had a drain and Android Booster identified "BluetoothTest" as the cause (I now freezed it).

[Q] PA crashes into Safe Mode

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum but I have read all rules before posting. I hope I got everything right. If not, please let me know and I'll make changes ASAP.
I have installed Paranoid Android 3.68 last week and have been experiencing this problem (couldn't post it in that thread because I am still a newbie).
My phone crashes into Safe Mode at least once daily without me doing anything. Every time I reboot to normal mode, I would have to restore my 3D Background, Swiftkey, and NiLS apps. So I'm guessing that the crash happened due to (one of) these apps. Could this be an incompatibility issue? Is there any way I can prevent this from happening because it gets quite troublesome to restore these apps so often...
Thanks a lot!

Android 11 random reboots (dumpstate, last_kmsg)

Hello,
I'd like to have some help with diagnosing what hiccup my device recently has.
For a few days I'm on EUA4 Android 11, BL unlocked, Magisk patched, fresh install. Before that I was running some months old Android 10 also magisk rooted, some modules etc. and had uptimes of several weeks without reboot.
Now I get random reboots a few times per day. System shows samsung logo for a while, brings up warning messges "your devide... not official... security" etc., shows SIM pin, Device pin and crashes right again before launcher is fully up. Sometimes multiple times until system stays on. (Can interrupt this ofc with Power+bix+VolDown and boot Power+bix+VolUp into magisk)
Can someone help me figure out why? Some app, magisk module, frozen app idk...
I tried reading through last_kmsg and bugreport files but I'm not that savvy to actually understand why watchdog is killing system and what extra information I should fetch from the device.
I don't know where to look for the reason why this happens so I can fix it or avoid it after the next flash.
Thanks for your help.
you are not alone. its happening to me on S10+ aswell.
Thanks, always nice to know
I went back to Android 10 (DTK9). Device running for 68h without even an app force closing. Same setup otherwise, same apps/ magisk modules/ magisk canary/ disabeled samsung apps etc...
Really don't know why I couldn't get 11 to run acceptable. I'm clearly missing some diagnostic capability like "your device rebooted cause app x did something funny that produced a 0 somwhere else and that caused something in the kernel to **** it's pants..."
Propably android somehow could point me there, but obviously I'm too much of a noob to understand it.
Thats why I asked for help if someone can teach me to understand what my poor system tries to tell me.
If you can - or at least show me where I can learn about that - I'm still interested, but for the next few months I'll skip firmware updates

[Discussion] Pokemon Masters still detects root even with MagiskHide?

I've held off on asking for advice about this for a while because I didn't know where to ask, but I guess since there are threads for other games with similar issues, it's okay to ask here.
Basically, Pokémon Masters EX has been failing to load properly for some time. I get to the main screen only for it to give me a 'error 10102' and restart. I've looked it up and it seems it means the game has detected that my device is rooted. Problem is, I already have MagiskHide activated for it. In fact, if I disable it, the game actually crashes immediately, so at least I know it's doing something.
I'm just a novice when it comes to root-related problems, so I hope some of you have some ideas or maybe even have faced this problem with this game before. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy SM-M315F running Android 10. If there's any other information that might help, I'll be happy to tell you all.
Thanks in advance.
I tested and it seems like the 10102 error is connected to something else than Magisk. Once the game was added to the Hide list I could play it without issue.
You don't mention if you've repackaged the Magisk app with a random package name, so if you haven't done that yet, do so
Could also be that it's detecting other root apps or files on your device. Got some tips on other detection methods here:
https://www.didgeridoohan.com/magisk/MagiskHide#hn_Hiding_root_from_apps
Or maybe that error is about something else entirely.
Sorry, wrong thread. Please ignore this post, my apologies.

Question Buggy software issues

I recently bought the redmi note 11 and updated it to the latest rom of miui 13.0.1.0 stable which is on top of Android 12
Now I am seeing the following issues
1. Ringtone / Alarm / Notification sounds not working
2. Keyboard not opening sometimes and gets stuck, only restart helps
3. Apps start to hang and after that phone does not connect to internet at all even if wifi is connected.
Anyone else facing the same issues if so how to resolve them?
I am looking to install a custom rom if things persists but I don't want to void the warranty yet so any official way to resolve them?
It's always good to do a factory reset after bigger OTA update. I'm not saying it will fix your problem but give it a try. There were many similar situations like yours and this helped them.
I did it multiple times but did not help

Just in case you didn't do it this way, it's not the same, flashing firstly, then wiping, but the reversed way, formatting data, to receive a major update, and search for the fastboot latest version, if it exists, I didn't look for, so I don't know.
@asuna594 Did you somehow fixed that problem? After upgrading to A12 I have similar problems: Often no notifications (like Whatsapp), even after unlocking the phone (I manually have to open WhatsApp to get new messages).
I tried ROM flashing the phone with an official ROM from Xiaomi website. But it did not work. So I got a new phone under warranty. It was a painful experience after buying a new phone.
Oh, great I'll try factory resetting the phone and hope it helps. If not I have to contact Xiaomi... thanks!
I had a lot of problems on A12 from battery, performance, to questionable feature implementations. Downgrading to latest A11 was the most stable option for me, though you will miss out on the security patches and some new features. Maybe you can try Xiaomi.eu or custom ROMs and see if it works for you.
Currently using an Android 13 custom ROM and have almost the same performance and battery usage, if not better than the previous Android 11. Definitely better than stock MIUI A12
Thanks. I just resetted my phone and reinstalled (almost) everything. Will see if it works now... if not I'll also try to find a custom ROM (which might be difficult since I have the 11s, not the 11).

Ah I see. There are little or no development for Mediatek SoC since they don't release the source codes to public. Hopefully the reset will fix the problem
Another thing that might help is to let some apps to run without restrictions, let them autostart, and disabling Battery and Performance either by revocation or ADB to prevent it from being closed. More details on here
[PSA]: com.miui.powerkeeper acts like a malware, remove it trough ADB for increased performance

Thanks for your link, I will try to remove powerkeeper if my phone is still buggy because of MIUIs aggressive power management
I hope my problems are fixed now, at least most of the time notifications work well. What I did:
- Factory reset
- In Settings I've search for "Special Permissions", went to "Unrestricted Data" and toggled WhatsApp to "on"
- Switched the region of the phone to "India", searched in Settings for "intelligent scenarios" (at least that's the translation german to english) and switched that setting to "off"
- Disabled Memory Extension
Indonesia rom work good
