"Better experience" is a broad and subjective term, there would never be any definitive answer for that. However, you should normally get 'yes' in OP3 forum and 'no' here (some abnormal people say 'yes' here, wonder why they keep reading mi5 forum if they don't like it).
Im deciding too but prefer the size of the Mi5 and the fact its £100 cheaper than the OP3 if you get a 32GB version.
If you already have Mi 5, I don't think it's worth buying OP3 since the hardware is mostly the same.
Things that differentiate OP3 from Mi 5:
- Oxygen OS: If you love stock Android, this is a big plus since Oxygen OS is basically stock Android with some new features. You also get ambient display and gestures while display is off.
- 5.5'' AMOLED Screen: Bigger display (bigger phone size). Better contrast. Saves battery when displaying dark colors. More saturated but you can use SRGB mode.
- Metal unibody: If you prefer metal unibodies, OP3 is a plus. Mi 5 I believe is using glass/ceramic with a metal frame.
- RAM: OP3 comes with 6GB but it's overkill. Mi 5 is perfectly fine with 3/4 GB of RAM. Heck even my gaming PC has "only" 8 GB of RAM.
- Storage: OP3 comes only with 64 GB while Mi 5 has 32/64/128 GB options. Mi 5's 64 GB option is also cheaper than OP3 64 GB.
Camera is basically the same on both phones. They have the same sensor (IMX298), OIS, 16 MP and f/2.0 lenses.
Both have 3000 mAh batteries. OP3 is Li-Ion and Mi 5 is Li-Po.
If you are an audiophile though, I've read that Mi 5 uses Qualcomm's Aqstic (DAC, amp + codec) which is the same setup as HTC 10 and will give you much better sound quality than OP3, since OP3 doesn't have that (I can't find any reference that it has Aqstic) although it's rocking the same SoC (Snapdragon 820).

Mi5 is Best Quality Phone
yes it is worth it. go for 1+3.
If you like larger displays, or oversaturated AMOLEDs, yeah sure the OnePlus 3 will improve your experience. Otherwise you could just unlock and flash your Mi 5.
The difference I reckon would be that unlocking OnePlus phones is a very easy process and do not void any warranties.
yes I think it's worth it. Go for it
I think in my opinion,MI5 have better battery life. If you want more ram,one plus three.

That's what is called having a perspective from all POV.
Xiaomi is notorious in releasing bug-free kernel sources. MIUI was the best in its fifth version (my opinion) and then onward, every iterations has been a crappy ride. And without a proper source code release - the custom ROMs have tough time to work flawlessly. Xiaomi has always been non-cooperative with the Dev community. And have you ever visited Xiaomi forum? I mean... come on!! Whose fertile idea was it to force you to post a "comment" before you can download something (almost all of the time) !!!
OnePlus 3 is a Dev friendly device. Can you give instance of one more company, who releases the source code even before the official release of the device itself?? (Before someone pounds in - yes, I know it was all a part of the large publicity stunts - then again we the users are benefited at the end). I only wish OnePlus 3 came out with a QuadHD IPS-LCD. Personally, I despise Amoled panels.

I'm a diamond member there. That "feature" is poster intention, normal ROM and important tools downloads don't need it. Posters hide download links in their post to gain reputation, to become higher level members as well. It's a system that makes MIUI forum looks active, despite most comments are only "thanks" or "great".
The MI 5 is better than the OP3 only in one aspect : its smaller size. Otherwise, the OP3 is better about :
- sturdiness (remember the iPhone 6 bendgate ? the MI 5 is much worse)
- android development (just compare their xda forums)
- LTE frequencies
Since you are from Croatia, MI 5 does not support LTE band 20 (800MHz), I think that would be the deal breaker.

You see - that was my point precisely! Why would you even 'allow' to encourage the poster(s) to demonstrate a 'reputation-gaining-mechanism' ?!?
And no, that never makes any forum active - all it makes is to create a lot of 'off-the-track' distracting post(s) in the middle of the main discussion thread.
And I am a diamond member too there (with the same name and icon).
Returning back to the main question - OP3 is an unparalleled bargain in the same price segment - grab it with all your might. By the way, I am also keeping an eye on the newly released Mi5S Plus which comes with quite attractive attributes. I doubt what will its price be?
mi5 is lighter, fits well to normal user pockets
oneplus3 is well developed contract to mi5, because xiaomi did not release the kernel source completely.

Guys should i buy mi5 or spend £100 more and get oneplus 3? how much different is the android developing between the two? What I mean is, if oneplus has a score of 10/10 for android developing then what will the mi5 get?
So,I'm due an upgrade this year and usually stick with Oneplus and currently have a 6T,
My usual upgrade would take me to a Oneplus 8 but I'm reading not so many great things about these phones such as hole punch cameras and the price is gonna be crazy for the Standard 8 and 8 pro
But here we have a phone that will probably be similar in specs and possibly better in places with the X2 pro.
I'm not crazy anymore about OxygenOS,sure it's great but it's boring after all these years. A little more features or some might say bloat can be useful and I hear ColorOS is pretty good in this regard.
Oneplus has slowed with updates for older devices so I think I could live with less updates.
Would you guys upgrade to a X2 pro considering you can get the 12/256 model for €449 now on Amazon or should I wait to see what Xaomi do though the k30 doesn't look that appealing if it turns out to be the mi 10.
Did anyone upgrade from a 6 or 6T to this phone ?

Yes, Ideally this would be true but I think the next gen of high end SD chips are gonna be more expensive and power hungry due to uneeded 5g. a lot of mid range well priced phones from Xaoimi will be having mid range chips like 765.
I actually think there is a good case to skip the next gen of chips because they are mainly for 5g which most users in the world dont need
I personally encourage you to get this phone. ColorOS has some interesting features and it's rock solid. The phone is very responsive and I have a good SOT. Talking about battery, the VOOC charging is unbelievably fast! I have so much to say about the Realme X2 Pro, but the conclusion is that I don't regret my decision.

Probably the best value for the money at this time :good:
Pros
90hz Display which is very good
UFS 3.0
12gb Ram (top variant)
256gb Storage
50w SuperVooc
Great design & build.
Decent Cameras.
Cons
ColorOS still needs work and that comes in 0S7, with realme perhaps doing their own thing?
Cameras are just average (made better with Gcam) although as yet still not a stable build for the X2 Pro.
Overall for what you are paying them yea it's a very very good purchase :good:

Lol,makes sense, though from what I've seen on YouTube and other reviews the cameras are pretty competitive with other flagships, not the greatest but decent in most departments,
I personally don't like using gcam because its usually unstable and annoying.
Still not convinced by the phone though with ColorOS though it should be interesting to see what colorOs7 is like.

ColorOS runs just fine in terms of performance, it's just a bit disorganized, Cameras they are perfectly fine in good light, but I'd say they do struggle and the Samsung made GW1 64mgp sensor isn't great, but the price you can let the cam be the way it is, it's not shockingly poor, it's just average and the price point for everything else made it a great purchase for me.

OIS is not needed in any kind of way thanks to the Snapdragon 855+ and 12 GB Ram
i can tell you the difference , when i was using the P20 Pro i had always lags making any kind of video.
using the X2 Pro with 30 or 60 FPS its like Butter , also the way the camera reacts like speed focus etc you dont even need OIS so trust me you would have a lot of fun
The Only bad thing about the Camera is the Night Shot Mode ... you cant compare it with Huawei
but without that its simply perfect in my eyes and i did a lot of pictures using the stock camera app

Huawei are very good for low light so I would never expect the X2 pro to compare. What about updates ?
I believe the phone will receive support for Android 10 and 11. Updates every two months with security patch and a big update soon to colorOS 7,
Have you received timely updates as yet ?
Tbh it's a huge upgrade over the 6t... It's better in everyway except oxygen and as I've said before to others the euro version from Amazon Spain is one of the most bloat free and fluid operating systems around. Regarding the camera I've got to agree with @natedogg20050 it's a excellent camera and if you know how to use it correctly I've mostly got better shots then my son's mate 20 pro and wife's view 20.... Then when you consider the price to spec it's truly unbeatable in my opinion. I've had the OnePlus 6t and loved it but to me the X2 pro is far better.
Edit: Regarding updates I've received 1 update each month since getting the phone.

Thanks for the input,I looked at many reviews and comparisons over the last while and have concluded that the X2 pro is the best and most interesting deal out there.I am now bored with my 6T and wanted a change so this morning on Christmas I have just ordered my X2 pro 12/256 model in blue from Amazon Spain to receive it next week.
In regards to camera, most if not all the reviews I have looked at are positive. Ive seen that they have improved camera quality in recent updates also , particularly with low light shots.
I think people who do criticise are only nitpicking generally that a particular color may not be exactly the same as it is real life or stupid little things like that. The camera from what I've seen is excellent for the price including everything else.
Excited to use a phone with 12gb ram also,as I've only ever had 6 at most,90hz should be fun too and the little features of ColorOs.
Merry Christmas everyone.
I still cannot decide between OnePlus 7T and Realme X2 Pro. Coming from a really clean Moto G4+ experience and being kind of a power user (not gaming wise but regarding usage time & used features), I'm a little afraid that Color OS maybe couldn't deliver my wished quality. And video OIS and night capabilities of the 7T camera seems to be much better considering many YouTube comparisons.
On the other hand Realme offers super fast charging, interesting software features (three finger screenshot crop and all this nice little things) for a much lower price tag.
hi guys I'm thinking of upgrading from my note 10 plus just a question is the display 10bit like some are saying as ive been on the sony website and its saying the same as it did for the xperia 1from last year 10bit 8bit with 2bit software or something
Just asking as the oneplus 8pro is supposedly 10bit in total
Thanks
I don't know, but 4k HDR looks absolutely amazing!
It will be 10bit as it supports bt2020 and over billion colours.

It is 8+2 bit just like oneplus.
It's really an 8bit display,
I also switched from Note 10 plus to this phone and love it so far! Screen is so crisp and colors are dead accurate in pro mode
Sony adverts it as a 10bit Display (8+2). And yes, the screen is the best part of this device.
Same as last year. It's 8bit with smoothing. It's not like 10bit. It's more like an in between.
So does the phone actually support 1 billion colors or is it like a 16m display?
Really tempted to trade in my note 10 plus for it bit I've also heard that the cameras arnt all that good either ?
Also another question does the display get bright when viewing hdr as ive heard that sony turned down the brightness of the display from the xperia 1 which I thought it wasn't bright enough then
Thanks

Keep the note 10+.
The Xperia is still lacking in alot of areas, battery, display brightness, fixed front camera, little things like that don't add up to $1200.
When it drops to around $800-US then it'll be closer to it's worth.
It's just not worth it, no matter how beautiful it is when the experience is worse.

I come from Note 10 plus and not looking back. Vanilla Android UI is much nicer than One UI. i also missed flat screen. Camera is for sure better on 1 ii if you think when you take photos. I did side by side comparison of front camera and it's comparable to Note 10. At the end of the day, 1 ii is not for Instagram kind of folks other than this, superb phone

Have had no problem with the display outdoor at all. It doesn't match super bright note when sunlight hits it but def as bright as OnePlus 8 and way brighter than Pixel. So whoever says its "dim" doesn't have enough data points to compare. Speakers are more clear and sound louder to me since front firing. Overall, so happy that I have a flagship with flat screen. Had Pixel in the past but they always had hardware issues and crappy display.
Thanks just another question the 10 bit display does it work all the time in both standard and creator mode or is it just in creator mode?
Thanks
Hi guys does the creator mode need to be selected for the 10 bit color or is it walkways active?
Only asking as I normally have it on standered but will change it if so

Hi,
I had to choose between the OP8T and the Pixel 5. I come from the OP6.
Pixel 5:
Pros:
- Size
- Google Software (GCam + Pure Android) (I heard that the Pixel Base on CAF not AOSP. Is that ture?).
- Nice Support. (I got Problems with my Pixel 1 and I get first the replacement phone before I send my old back).
- Fingerprint sensor on the back and you can pull down the notificationbar
- Wireless-Charging
Contra:
- Just 18W Charger
- No 256Gb Version
- Lose a lot of nice Features (Hope the Pixel 6 will get smaller and updated sensors like project Soli)
I can not judge the Battery life. If the SD765 get 8-10h Screen-on-Time, I cant life without the SD865.
OP8T:
Pros:
- 65W Charger
- 256GB UFS 3.1 Storage
- SD 865
Contra
- No Wireless-Charging
- Never had contact with the OP Support, but I heard it's not good.
- Size, 6.0-6.3" would be perfect
What you guys think?
I have a Op8pro but i would go for the pixel5
The pixel 5 has an outdated main camera still found in the pixel 2!!!
Also no 120Hz refresh rate.
The oneplus camera is also the same as the previous two versions. And being a op user myself for the past 4 years I would go for the pixel just because of poor camera performance in anything but the brightest light as well as the software.
Once your op device is over a year old they tend to give it lesser preference when it comes to updates. And that too many bugs. I have had to deal with op support on one occasion unfortunately and trust me you would not even want to deal with them should things go wrong!
Ultimately it is the user's preference what they would like to buy. It you are a very heavy gamer wanting to play the most intensive games at the highest frame rate then go with snapdragon 865. Mind it the 765 will also play them well but with the occasional drop in frame as mobile chipsets are already quite powerful. But if like most you are in for the day to day software experience and camera then go with the pixel.
Note that camera sensors have not improved that much for mobiles and that is why the Google pixel camera is still amongst the best though a few other manufacturers have caught up to theirs. This is evident on the oneplus as well since they too haven't changed their primary sensor since the past two years!
i got mine today! I have to say a very fine, beautiful device

And yet the camera performance is still very impressive., it is much better than it was on my 1+ 7t that's for sure.
I would most likely have gone with another oneplus if it weren't for the crap camera. 2 of the 4 cameras are utterly rubbish and the rest only perform satisfactory in good light. Any dark or tricky light conditions (UK weather) then damn!
Oneplus software used to be the closest to stock android experience before their latest update. Also once another 2 devices get released after a year then your device treatment becomes third class!

Fun thing is that Google is using the same camera sensor for a long time indeed but it's so damn good!
After the Nexus days I've been a OnePlus fan until now..
I had the 6, 7, 7T pro and recently the Nord.
Last week i decided to but the 4a and i love it, my first point and shoot picture blew me away.. so much better then OnePlus without Gcam.
OnePlus is using the same 48mp sensor on many devices and it still sucks..
And updates are taking longer and longer and getting kind of useless.
The 4a got me thinking back off the time we had Nexus and i got excited again.
People keep telling themselves they need a 8 series cpu and believe me.. you don't.. at least most people won't.
The 765g is really great in everyway and even the 730g performs really well.
I also love the smaller size and i love being back on stock Android.
So the fact that pixel got more affordable, got smaller sizes but bigger batteries got me all hyped again and my 4a will go to my partner and i myself will probably buy a 5 next week.
The price difference with the 4a is big and that keeps me thinking but the differences make the device perfect for me.
So for me no 8T although it's a great device and price as well but again the same ****ty camera.
90 or even 60hz is enough for me, fast charging is awesome but not important.
And i love the smaller size so i don't want to go back to 6.5"
Recently, I'm thinking to replace my S21 ultra with either Mi 11 or Mi 11 ultra. Since the price difference is pretty big between the two devices, My question is , specially for those who owned both devices, is the ultra worth spending that much bucks over the regular Mi 11? and what are the main things I will get if I buy the ultra over the regular one?
Thanks in advance
I think the main difference is the camera and the second screen on the rear. I can't see any reason to get any of the two coming from an S21 ultra
If you value photography, go with the Mi 11 Ultra. It can rival with the S21 Ultra. The Mi 11 is decent in terms of photos, but significantly worse than the S21 Ultra and Mi 11 Ultra.
That's basically all there is to it. If you don't care about photos then get the vanilla Mi 11, although it would be a step down from your Samsung.
Well

Well I do not care a lot about photography. I do care much about battery life, charging speed and performance. So is mi 11 ultra any much better in these terms over the mi 11 or the s21 ultra? also is there any other sacrifices I will be making if I change to any of those?

If you dont care about photography but you want a top phone buy the Mi 11 Pro not the Mi 11, it's almost the same than the Ultra but cheaper, Ultra is a bit more elitist and unique but the Pro is almost the same phone for around $200+ cheaper.

I presently own both the S21U (Exynos) and the Mi11U.
For me it's a close call between both devices with each one having strengths and weaknesses.
Camera : more capabilities in the Tele department on the S21U, also more consistent results and IMO the better "point&shoot". The Mi11U has significantly lower noise and the 5x is pretty good, but the main sensor has a much shallower depth-of-field making getting the correct focus difficult at times. On the other hand Samsung processing tends to oversharpen and kill fine details at times, but this has become much less pronounced with latest updates. All in all both are capable of getting really excellent images where it's difficult for me to name a winner.
Haptics: both are very solid devices (and heavy ones, too). The Mi11U is slightly more unbalanced due to the heavy top module, making it a bit more awkward when held for long time. FP reader is better on S21U (never thought I'd say that about a Samsung), the Mi11U is good but I've seen better and more reliable ones on other phones (e.g. OP 8Pro).
Displays: excellent on both, no big difference to my eye.
Performance: the Exynos is (for my taste) pretty close to the SD888, only slightly behind specifically with Graphics intense games. Overall excellent fluidity of the UI on both, a first time for a Samsung phone for my taste.
UI: clearly more customizability on MIUI, also better privacy options - for my taste. But this whole department is really very subjective....
Battery: for my light to medium usage pretty comparable on both, Standby is excellent on both. The faster charging on the Mi11U is very convenient and the only point where for me the S21U is really lacking (I use wireless charging exclusively BTW). When used heavily the Mi11U tends to drain a bit faster and get significantly warmer.
Just my 2 cents and sorry the lengthy text ,
Axel

I'm trying to decide between these two. Samsung slightly ahead for local warranty + parts/servicing etc. Is the mi11u good enough to risk a grey import for, or would you pick the s21u? My priorities are camera and battery life.

I would probably keep the s21 ultra since the investment is already made
There is not much measurable improvements in the mi 11 ultra you will notice and the regular mi 11 would be a step down in almost every aspect except maybe charging speed which is partially negated by having a smaller battery size and worse cooling

Sorry, I can't decide that for you All I can say is that I'm pretty torn between both and have a difficult time to decide which one has to go. And BTW I got the CN version of the Mi11U with 512GB
For me it boils down to better balance/feel in hand on the S21U plus versatility in the Zoom-cameras and the more consistent image results vs faster charging, less noise and the (for me) nicer UI on the Mi11U.
Another point is that the MI11U fully supports GCam and I think has in general a bit more room for improvement as its newer, the S21U only supports GCam for the UW/Wide lenses presently and it has already made big leaps ahead in the recent updates - no idea how much room is left for further improvements but I'd think the majority of what could be achieved has been done.
And some additional points I didn't mention so far:
Internal speakers on the Mi11U are better, have more "oopmh", on the other hand the earpiece during calls is a bit better on the S21U (louder and better clarity)....
USB-Speed is much faster on the S21U (USB3 vs USB2) - like 300 MBps vs 40Mbps
In general WIFI speed seems to be faster on the Mi11U as is radio reception - but don't expect huge differences

They really dropped the ball using usb2 on this phone , especially the 512gb version
Whatever they saved was likely pennies
i haven't held a sammy since the s8, i do not like the UI and while miui took some getting used to after my mate 20 pro i have come around and it's pretty slick. i'm not sure if it's android 11 or miui, but the app permissions thing is kinda killing me. the pics and video on the m11 ultra are pretty awesome, i've gotten compliments from iphone 12maxpro users...wow how do you take so much better pictures...lol

But s21 have a lot of Updates about camera. Its 1y phone almost.
Mi11u with time will be better after few Updates.
i would not touch anything samsung with a stick after what they did to smartthings, they cant even make vaccum properly.
unfortunately after reading this thread i compared prices s21u.
why s21u is so much cheaper while having more ram?
is it exynos really that bad?
over $200 bad?

I haven't used the Mi 11, but I have used the S21 Ultra and the Mi 11 Ultra is easily on par with the S21 Ultra.

Giztop lists the current price for the Mi 11 Ultra 8/256 at $899 and the 12/256 at $999. The 12/512 version of the Mi 11 Ultra goes for $1099. Samsung lists the S21 Ultra at $1249.99 for 12/128. The S21 Ultra doesn't sound cheaper to me.

Check the China mi11u with 12/512 vs the 512gb s21u
Huge price difference when you want half a terrabyte of storage
And we get a 67w charger free, they have the option to buy a 25w charger separately!
Also most countries can only get the exynos which doesn't give the same value or working gcam
