Hello folks,
Just got myself a new S23 (SM-S911B-dual sim with e-sim)
And I have some "problems" with regards to call recording.
From what I read online, I can see it's related to CSC, and I think mine is ILO (as I'm from Israel)
My Question:
Within Google phone dialer (V101.0.516098776-PublicBeta), I don't have any Call recording options.
Within Samsung dialer (14.1.00.62), I get call recording in the app setting, out of the box, no problems.
Am I missing something very obvious over here?
I know that the google phone app has an option to record.
but I don't know what I can do to "fix" it.
any help would be much appreciated.
You won't fix it unless you have root access. Unfortunately, since Android 9 or 10, don't know exactly and it doesn't matter, you can only record calls if app is installed in system partition.

Try the "SamFw Tool 4.2". There you can change your CSC via ADB (i.e. without root access).
I also have the SM-S911B/DS and have done call recording.
- Enable developer options and enable USB debugging.
- Open SamFw Tool 4.2, connect your device to the PC. In the tool, open Samsung > ADB.
- Select "Change CSC" and use the "THL" - CSC.
"THL - Working call recorder, Working SPay, Working CallID".
Restart your device (I think the tool does this automatically) and enjoy Call Recording.
You can reset your CSC in the worst case.

Call Record Samsung CSC
CSC codes with working Call Rec option:
SEK, INU, INS, XXV, THL, ILO, EGY, BNG, CAM, MYM, LAO, LYS, NPL, TMC, WTL, TUN - depends of your phone model
SEK - Working call recorder, Missing SPay, Missing CallID
INS - Working call recorder, Working SPay, Working CallID - Missing OTA if you are coming from Exynos (B) version, if you are coming from E version you will have OTA
XXV- Working call recorder, Working SPay, Missing CallID
THL - Working call recorder, Working SPay, Working CallID ########## i use, work perfectly
INU - Working call recorder, Working SPay, Working CallID
as you have ILO CSC , you don't need to change your CSC to THL
call recording is in Samsung dialer app so you must stay with this dialer if you want call recording allowed

That's not true.
I've been using True Phone for years, along with the call recording feature on Samsung phones.
The only condition is to use the Samsung call screen for incoming/outgoing calls.
That's why I have them disabled in TruePhone and the call recording works perfectly. (By changing the CSC)

I clearly wrote above that I used True Phone. So yes, I can confirm.
I don't like Samsung Dialer or Google dialer.
I have S23 base model.
I saw today that there is a new module in LSPosed that allows you to enable call recording for Google Dailer.
I have not tested it, but you can try it yourself and report, because I am satisfied with the Samsung Dailer.

Looks interesting, but I don't have root.
so I guess like @goTouch has said, I need root to make it a system app
Even in Samsung dialer it will not record calls if we have selected wifi calling options.

I've tried this on the .206 and .208 leaks, both of which won't use google voice to dial out. I've tripled checked, and google voice is set to "Use Google Voice to make all calls". I've tried uninstalling and re-installing (on both builds). Has anyone else experienced this? If so, has anyone found a fix?
Also - I've tried "Ask every time I make a call", this also fails to work (though I only tried this in .208).
Works for me (I'm on .206). I have it set to "Only use Google Voice for international calls" though, not sure if that makes a difference.

Unfortunately that did not work for me. I've now tried "use Google Voice to make all calls", "Only use Google voice for international calls" and "Ask every time I make a call" - none of these result in using Google Voice for a call (local, domestic, - I haven't tried ILD, as I don't want to incur a charge).
The only thing that appears to work is "Don't use google voice for any calls", though I am beginning to suspect this is due to a bug, not design.

OK, did a little more testing - and stumbled across something looks like only 7 digit dialing is affected. 10 digit dialing does indeed use google voice. Frankly, I'm not sure if this was the case in stock GB or not - with out a way to roll back, I can't test.
I thought gv only did international calls, at least within the USA.

Thank you! Google Voice worked great on my Galaxy S2 with GB and ICS, but I'm not able to place out going calls with my Galaxy S3. I tried your advice of using 10 digit dialing and it appears to be working!

I have used it on .206 a few times and it works, it just doesn't show the "calling with google voice" dialog. I checked my minutes usage and no international minutes show up, just night/weekend or anytime minutes. If it wasn't working, there would be international minutes on my bill/vzw usage app.

To avoid this you can just call up VZW Support and remove international dialing from your account. That way if it somehow doesn't use GV to dial internationally in the future, you'll just get the "you must enable international dialing blah blah" message, instead of crazy charges on your bill

So my unlocked S10e with T-Mobile USA sim card, didn't show HD Voice during call. Then I flashed my phone with T-Mobile firmware, now it does show HD+.
The HD+ icon is there when I call a person that has 5 year old phone(not compatible with HD voice) and I don't see any difference in voice quality. The only time I hear a difference in the voice quality when I try calling a user on T-Mobile with Note 9 for example.
The unlocked phones don't show the HD icon. The only way to check the used audio codec is to dial *#0011* before a call, fast switch to the dialer, place the call, and fast switch back to that menu. AMR:WB is the "HD" codec.
Some SIM's (providers) will hide that service menu. On my US version, I can unhide it with *#22745927 and the using 000000 for the MSL.

Best shot to make it work is flash the g973W firmware on your phone. The unbranded Canadian is XAC.
It works for t mobile USA.
The "HD Voice" icon is trademarked by GSMA. That's why you won't see them on Verizon.
And yes, looks like per their definition AMR-WB does not qualify, for a very ridiculous reason (see below). So Samsung, on unlocked devices, followed that guide.
Verizon, on their dedicated firmware, used HD to show AMD-WB in use.
https://www.gsma.com/futurenetworks/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/hd_voice_guide_v9_04_17.pdf
Excerpts:
The “HD Voice” and “HD Voice +” Logos are owned by the GSM Association (“Licensor”), a verein incorporated in Switzerland whose registered office is at GSMA Head Office, Floor 2, The Walbrook Building, 25 Walbrook, London, EC4N 8AF, UK.The GSMA acquired the ownership of the HD Voice logo from its creator, Hutchinson Whampoa with a view to licensing and administering it on behalf of the industry. HD Voice + logo was wholly developed by GSMA.Q2. What is the purpose of the logo?Mobile network operators agreed that multiple logos will confuse end users. It would be far better for the industry to support the notion of one HD Voice logo. Furthermore one logo, supported by the GSMA, has the potential to become a universally recognised symbol which easily identifies HD Voice enabled devices and services. The logo was designed to be suitable for the purpose of promoting & marketing HD Voice on an international basis. It was also designed to be capable of representation in different colours & languages where necessary.Q3. Is the logo registered & where? The HD Voice and HD Voice + Logos are registered s as International trade marks (WIPO). We have also filed various national registrations which are completed or in process as detailed in Schedule 1. We have limited budget for such activity, but will provide a list of countries where we intend to file once the process commences. Where Licensees wish for additional registrations to be filed, the GSMA will be willing undertake the work, providing the Licensee pays the costs, typically between £500-£3000 Pounds Sterling, depending on the market
Q6. Please confirm whether devices which are WB-AMR only qualify?Devices supporting WB-AMR only, even when codec is activated, will not be HD Voice compliant. There are 2 main reasons for this;i. A device which is just WB-AMR activated (without acoustics/VQE improvements) may not lead to any improvement of the calls audio quality for some time as the number of e2e WB-AMR calls is very limited initially. Users would be disappointed about the promise; i.e. it may ruin the whole HD Voice story.ii. The message to the end users must kept simple: devices are HD Voice compliant or not; introducing an intermediary level may confuse the message. I.e. one single logo, for HD voice labelled only devices.

Hi guys, this is not my original work, but it was hard to find for our device, so i experimented with the guides available for the oneplus 7 pro and the following woks perfectly.
The reason i tried to find this is that most guides rnabled the VoLTE and VoWifi switches but only Volte worked this way (at least on my network).
Before following the guide, do a quick search in that thread and see what carrier profiles are recomended for your country/Provider.
For example for Cosmote greece, i used H3G Denmark commercial, not the Germany Vodafone recomended by the guide.
Just follow the instructions exactly and both VoLTE and VoWifi should work perfectly.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81480319&postcount=513
I used this later version of the software (from the same source): https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603864075
In case the *#801# does not work, you must download the Oneplus engineering apk and install it (google it) an then it will open up.
Lastly im not always active on the forums so i might not respond fast but if someone needs any help i ll try to help them.
Thanks to @virtyx @jamal2367 @sanke1 @everyone else i might forget for all their work and help on this matter.
P.S: If you want me to take down the drivers just ak me and i will.

Yes, works with all Oneplus devices.
I want to recommend another way, as the oneplus logkit method is only possible on OxygenOS
open up an adb shell
$ su
# setprop sys.usb.config diag,serial_cdev,serial_tty,rmnet_ipa,mass_storage,adb
and then proceed with the PDC tool

Or is there a chance to get this done under lineageos?

Well, I switched to Lineageos 18.1 Microg hardened from MSe1969.
My situation with the phone is weird. I updated to OOS 11 first and did the whole stuff with oemlogkit and with QPSD and PDC. I managed to change my Phone to AIS_Thailand_Commercial. With that, volte is working. It shows up under Lineageos 18.1 microg hardened with a HD signal during phonecalls. making Vowifi calls is only possible, if u enable under *#*#4636#*#* mobile strenght if phone is in flight mode. Then i am reachable too. But i have the situ, if 4G calls enabled and / or vowifi enabled, all incoming calls a stated with unknown caller ID. I have to untick 4G calls to see who is calling. But I am willing to work on this this week. The situation is weird in my eyes, because the phone can't get other brands from eurpoe enabled like H3G Denmark or Germany or or or.....
My phone is native european and i get only asian brands??? Well I guess perhaps i go once again back with msmflashtool and start all over again. I tested Chungwa:Tel;_Taiwan, Visble, FareastOne_Taiwan,MINL_BSNL,Taiwan_mobile_Commercial, Some work with only volte some can be changed but nothig works, If i use OOS all works normal. (Vowifi and Volte) But i 'll give it another try.
If There is someone out there (developer) who is able to enable *#*#4636#*#* mobile strength out of the box when thelephone is booting up, would help perhaps.

Okay, After playing around with back to OOS 10 and OOS11 afterwards, i managed to find out, that MTNL-BSNL works for me, even under Lineageos 18.1 hardened. But It took a lot of time and work with magisk and the setprop stuff with adb shell. I very often phoned myself with another phone to find out, wether i got rid of the "UNKNOWN CALLER ID"
stuff. Now, it works, but i have to activate vowifi under *#*#4636#*#* by hand. But i am contendened, it works.
Nevertheless there are no icons showing up for functionating volte or vowifi. I think tis is an aspect of developers implementing this into their rom.
Greetz, and all the best, Ray

so basically the three settings below:
a. Phone recording audio source- which option to keep?
b. Phone calls clarity improvement- do I keep it MAX?
c. Force in-communication mode- do I enable or disable?

Google cannot 'ban' anything, they are not a legal entity and/or goverment. They can and may remove or hide the feature.
This is a samsung rom, and that function has been in in all version of thier roms since v7.0. My S7 running 8.1 has it and my S20fe running 10 has it.
Lastly there are a bunch of call recording apps on google play and the net in general.

1. Sorry, I don't speak english very well! The point is, Google hide this feature and Samsung did the same thingin some countries.
2. The code is there in all ROMs but if you don't have the proper CSC you cannot activate it unless you root your phone and modify CSC features.
3. All that bunch of call recording apps on google play do nothig unless the ROM's kernel let them!
I've been seeing since yesterday how to record calls with the 11T Pro.
At first I was looking at how to get the native MIUI 12.5 call apk for our terminal, in order to change it to the Google one that is capped and does not allow calls to be recorded.
Looking everywhere I have found an application that is free in the Play Store, this application records in a real and perfect way, not like other applications that record us but the other party cannot be heard.
I was going to say that it is the closest thing to the MIUI native call application, but it would not be fair, it is exactly the same as it. In this way we will not have to exchange ROMs to get the native MIUI dialer
The only thing you have to do is download the application from the Play Store, you grant it the permissions it requests, you activate the automatic start, you eliminate the battery saving restrictions and when you put the recording in automatic, I check the four boxes, incoming , outgoing, unknown ... we give accessibility permissions. Call recording is disabled so when you enter the application settings, you put call recording in the search engine and it will come out to activate it.
Like any other change, it is very important that you set it as the default.
Once configured, from settings / appearance / Theme / Custom theme I have set the primary color, the keyboard color and the background color to black, completely changing the appearance.
Finally, the recorded calls go to the file manager and they will be saved in shared internal storage / data / CallRecords-TP.
The application I am talking about is True Phone Dialer & Contacts & Call Recorder, with it you will get call recording.
I would love for you to leave your comments below, greetings.

Recordings are quite good, acceptable, but not so good as in MIUI dialer.
If you change the output audio format from AMR to WAV, the audios will be heard even better, a little clearer.
It is a very good application, much better than the others, in which the other party is heard with very low sound
Have you tried ACR unchained v35? Does that work?

Hello.
I tried the version of ACR that is in the Play Store, it is currently V.35 and it sounded very good to me but the other part was hardly heard and I uninstalled it.
I use Boldbeast Call Recorder
However I should find new optimal settings to Mi 11T Pro.

This made my day!!! It really works, both parts recorded without noises. Don't forget to change to WAV format.

In the Google Play store you don't get the Unchained version - that is why I specified - "unchained" - this kind of version is usually obtained from other stores like Samsung Apps. I don't know what other app store is offered on Xiaomi phones, but if there is also another one, besides Google Playstore, try getting it from there and make sure you go to the "about" page of the version of the software to see if it's the unchained version and then install and try. I could send you in a private message the Unchained Pro APK file if you want it, in order for you to test it out and then let us know how it worked. Let me know if you want the APK.
I think True Phone is the best bet. Using it for years, great dialler.
Thanks..
I unlocked my bootloader and installed indonesia ROM for the native dialer.

Anyone tried playing genshin impact ? Can it run fine on 60 fps? Because in original MIUI rom, genshin impact limited only to run at 40 fps
Also on benchmark apps like antutu and geekbench, can it achieve a "normal" score like other snapdragon 888 phone? In geekbench for example, a "normal" snapdragon 888 without being limited or throttled, cpu single core should exceed 1000 point
Please kindly test it for anyone already using this new miui.eu rom, thanks
You have a Custom ROM by XIAOMI.eu not the official XIAOMI EU GLOBAL ROM.
In the official ROM you don't have the call recording menu.
Trial period has ended for me and the app stopped recording (files are still created but only silence is heard).
Did this happen also to you?
