So I've noticed on my note 10s that there are 2 different sos options. First one in Settings - Passwords & security - Emergency SOS which works exactly the same as you can see in this video. Then there's another one in Settings - Safety & emergency - Emergency SOS. (pic) This one is different because you can't set emergency contacts, but it lets you change the emergency number (even to a normal person's phone number). This one also lets you play a loud sound when you activate it. Both work by pressing the power button 5 or more times. The screen you get after activating the second one is different from the first one, here's a picture. Btw you can activate both emergency SOSs and then you get both cancel screens. (so after cancelling the first one you can cancel the next one)
This is kinda weird and I was just wondering if anyone knows of a particular reason why there are two different options for this.

Hey guys, only got the tytn 2 a few days ago..and its all new to me...got a few questions..
1. When im in a call, the screen always turns off, or goes to standby, only way to get it active again is to press the power button on the side once...is there a way to stop it doing this so i only need to tap the screen to get it again?
2. I transfered my contacts using the SIM...but in contacts it only shows the mobile number, where as on my old N73 it showed the mob/house number etc all under the 1 name....for some of them it shows it under Sim Manager, but for others no. Is there a way to get it to have all the numbers under 1 name, and when i click a contact to call, it asks me which of the numbers to call, or at least lets me pick first?
3. What is the best browser to use? IE doesnt seem very good.
4. What is a soft and hard reset, and how do you do them?
5. Every time i turn the phone on, it brings up a message from network wizard saying my network is not know or something...how can i get rid of it?
Thanks

I have one answer to all your questions buddy! And the answer is: SEARCH
Seriously, your questions have all been asked and answered several times before. A simple search of the forum will yield answers. You'll also find lots of other good information about your phone.
Try reading the manual that came with your phone. It will answer all of your questions.
Why are people so lazy?

hi aldolino,
1. there is a tweak or registry hack to disable the screen goes to sleep and off, you can find it in TWEAKS thread
2. you might want to synch from your N73 to your outlook on your computer before synchronizing it back to your TYTN II
3. not so sure about the best, but i know IE ain't good enough, hence i use Opera browser 8.65 which does the job well enough
4. soft reset is you when you poke your stylus under a little hole beneath your screen, manual says so, whilst hard reset you can do it via setting
5. you can actually disable auto network configuration, start-setting-connections-connection setup
Hi everyone im new here awesome site. My question is when ever i dial in an unknown number it says dialing then just goes back to the recent dialed numbers list but if u save that number in contacts and then dial it will start ringing/connect straight away surely this isnt normal because it would be a pain to save every number u dial into your contacts anyone know why it does this thank you in advance. by the way it is stock with the factory 1.93 rom please help
can anyone help me with this please very much appreciated
has know one else got this problem? please someone help me out have tryed searching but there is nothing on this
Have you blocked unknown numbers in call barring ??
thats Phone> Options>Services>Call Barring ????
i went into call barring get settings and Block incoming calls is Off and Block outgoing calls is Off to is that what they should be?? thanks for the reply much appreciated
I've been having a similar problem for at least a month. I go to the phone screen, type in the "unknown" phone number, hit the "Talk" key on the lower left, and it goes back to the Home screen. The "Talk" key does not dial the "unknown" number for me. It seems that it will not dial a number that is not in my "Contacts". Sometimes the "Talk" key will bring up the phone screen and other times it won't? I've even used my stylus = same issues.
However I accidentally discovered that if I touched the "Navigation Control" button, then the number would dial. This is very strange, and someone on another forum said that this is not normal. That said however, I am beginning to like being able to dial from the "Navigation Control" button rather than the "Talk" key.
I have not changed any settings to block anything on the device, but mine sounds similar to what you are experiencing.
I have the exact same problem!!! Can someone help us?
LE: ok i got it solved, my ring tone level was zero when going into HTC volume control even though system sounds was max.
Dear PDA experts, please help me!!
since a couple of days I am having a VERY annoying problem with my HTC Diamond. This occurs when I am using the original hands-free. It looks like the cable is losing contact or making an incorrect contact...
So, when using the hands-free, the phone starts dialing the last dialed number by itself. When I am listening to music, the music stops and I am hearing how the phone is dialing. This usually happens, when I make the move to put my phone in my pocket. Also, when I speak with someone, the phone automatically puts him on hold, which is even more annoying for the other party! The problem persists even when I switch off the phone module, it still tries dialing!
I had tried many times to get rid of the voice dialer (sddialer.exe), but I cannot delete or rename the file even when I connect the Diamond to a PC. Finally I have disabled it from the registry and it still starts dialing when I make the move to stick it into my pocket!
And I dont have the impression, that the cable is somehow defective, as when I am listening to music, it does not break up. And it always does, when there is a problem with the cable, unfortunately I have a lot of experience with defective hand-frees. Please please help me!! It is not worthy to buy a new handsfree for such an old phone... Is there a way to disable all the buttons of the hands-free, it is the last possible solution I can think of...?
Use the lock screens
My Diamond did that too.
There are several lock screen capabilities that you can enable under settings. More important if you added a custom Rom they usually have a few different options.
With the custom Rom I was running, I could make a call and after pushing the power button, it would lock the phone when on the line with someone. This would happen if you hit any button after the power button was pressed (which usually turns off the screen).
Hope that helps.
I recently had my Note 7 stolen (yes, I still had the original Note 7) and I just got a Note 8. I made it so the phone can't be turned off and disabled the power off and restart buttons using a package disabler. I did this for the sole purpose of making the phone be more capable of being tracked, with my last stolen phone being simply shut off and all.
However, there's still a way of disabling the tracking if someone knew how. If they put it on Emergency Mode (which still shows if you hold down the power button via the lock screen) the phone will no longer send or receive data as long as the screen is off. I've tried to track it this way and it will not show on the map if it is in Emergency Mode. How do I disable this button and what is the package name for it if it has one? The fact that someone can still turn my GPS off even from my lock screen annoys me. There must be a way around this. So if anyone knows the package name to disable this or some other way to turn this off that'd be great, thanks.
I have Cerberus and in the settings there is an option to block power button, so when pressed nothing happens, no way to turn emergency mode on as the menu doesn't come up.

Hey guys,
I have a Note 8 running on Android 9 for 4 years and I have been using the phone just fine until this morning when I woke up and noticed the phone having nothing on the main screen but a message (in native language, temporary translated as "Phone is booting/starting..."). I thought it was my child messing something up so I left it alone and 2 hours later it still displayed the same message. When I clicked on the Bixbly button, it said that the function was unable in Emergency mode. I also tried restarting, force restarting and restarting in Download mode, but nothing works. The volume button, navigation bar are still working properly; I can still access settings via navigation bar, and I can answer phone calls though I could not make phone calls with it.
Any suggestions on fixing this issue?

From sammobile - To turn off the Emergency mode, just tap on the overflow menu (the three-dot icon) in the top right corner and tap on the relevant option. You can also manage your emergency contacts by tapping the Manage emergency contacts option in the overflow menu.

Hey ultramaq69,
Thanks for your response. Though the suggestion sounds very general, I found out how to turn it off via power option menu, and it is now working properly again, thanks!
