I did a factory reset for the phone from settings, when it booted the sim wasn't recognized
checked *#06# and it looked like this
I tried so many tools to restore a lost imei but I found out by (read info) in one of them that the imei is still existed
locked bootloader, official firmware, don't have an nvram backup
DO I have to unlock the bootloader to flash a custom rom and restore the imei
and if so, is there a way to unlock the bootloader without having a sim in it?

I recently upgraded to JPA (from JM8) using Kies.
When i bought the phone i used the "SGS Unlock Tool" to get the unlock codes. They worked fine. But i still used the SIM card from the carrier where i bought the phone.
Now i tried to use a SIM card from other carrier, and SGS is asking for the unlock code again!

And the code i have doesnt work! How can this be possible? This should be a unique code based on the IMEI, right? The IMEI is the same, why it doesnt work??

It would have been easy top read the faqs and guides and return the phone to a warranty state .
Wipe phone in recovery flash stock rom for your region/ network from sammmobile.com
Check IMEI is correct if not as you will have failed to backup EFS then a paid for service repair is next .
12 year olds are well capable of rooting its all a question of reading the faqs and guides .

now when i want to restore them it shows this error

i extracted the img file from the zip tabackup generated and tried this and flashed a stock firmware but when i check through service menu it says

I'm getting the error device already locked even though my bootloader clearly states that the bootloader is in unlocked. I just flashed the factory image for the phone and still same error. Any ideas?

Hi,
i had an old update on the phone (stock rom), when i tried to update it normally it was going to boot loop. so i flashed the latest stock version using odin. it worked fine for two months then it started random restart until finally it went to unbootable status.

I have tried to re-flash the latest firmware but no effect. the FRP and OEM is locked. so what are my chances, i want at least to take a backup.
