Hello, I'm getting low charging speed i.e. 900maH- 950mah, from this morning in yesterday night im getting 3300mah speed... Now l'm confused it's charger or cable fault or mobile,

Hey guys, I just bought my One a couple weeks ago and I'm loving it so far. However, I'm having an issue with the USB charging speed.
I know USB charging speed is slower than wall charging speeds, but the speeds I have been getting are ridiculous. To charge my phone from 0-100 takes about 9 hours over USB when the phone is in sleep mode and not being used. Can anyone else tell me if they're getting the same kind of extremely slow USB charging speeds? Is this normal for the phone? I've been thinking about replacing it and seeing how the next one fares.
I'm charging in usb 3.0 port and takes 5h

I haven't timed it, but yes USB charging is very slow in general and especially on this phone. I've had several HTC Ones, and had the same experience.

Some Kernels have an option for fast charge which is supposed to help with it but certain usb ports only put out a certain amount of power. Also I know a problem with the OG note was with fast charge enabled a few charging ports burnt out (mine included). It was easy to replace them on that phone but this one will be more difficult if it does the same thing.
The problem is that the phone sees the difference between an AC charger and a usb charger. With an AC charger it can charge with a maximum around 850mA while with an USB charger it charges with an maximum of 500mA.
There properbly is a trick how to make the phone think it's on AC charger, while it's actually on an USB charger, and therefore charge with a higher current, but I haven't found out how yet.

Depends on the current battery level of the phone. Anything above 83%(somewhere around there), even on AC charger it will slow down to 500mAh at most.
Greetings,
I just bought HTC one m7 from a friend. I have noticed that the battery is draining pretty fast and I am not doing any heavy usage. I installed GSam Battery app and I am constantly refreshing it without letting the screen sleep. Nothing else is running in the background. It shows 30%/hour drainage. Screen brightness is set to 50%. 3g network is connected and I have tethered the phone to laptop through wifi hotspot (just casual browsing im doing on my laptop).
Also the phone is charging pretty slow (compared to my previous lumia phone) which is annoying. If i connect the phone to laptop for USB charging, the battery goes down instead of charging.
Is there an issue with the battery, or is it just normal? Kindly enlighten me.
I will use the phone tomorrow with a 100% charging over night and can post the battery stat pictures if required.
Kind regards, Jasim

Charging the phone using a usb port from a computer will always result with extremely slow charge or even discharge if the phone is consuming more power then what it receive from the usb port.
The USB 1.x and 2.0 specifications provide a 5 V supply on a single wire to power connected USB devices.
A unit load is defined as 100 mA in USB 2.0, and 150 mA in USB 3.0. A device may draw a maximum of 5 unit loads (500 mA) from a port in USB 2.0; 6 (900 mA) in USB 3.0.

Wall charger can deliver more current and will charge the phone much faster. As for the battery drainage, it might be some app draining or even the battery might need to be replaced.
Lithium batteries do lost capacity over time.
Lithium-ion battery packs are expensive, so if you want to make yours to last longer, here are some things to keep in mind:
Lithium ion chemistry prefers partial discharge to deep discharge, so it's best to avoid taking the battery all the way down to zero. Since lithium-ion chemistry does not have a "memory", you do not harm the battery pack with a partial discharge. If the voltage of a lithium-ion cell drops below a certain level, it's ruined.
Lithium-ion batteries age. They only last two to three years, even if they are sitting on a shelf unused. So do not "avoid using" the battery with the thought that the battery pack will last five years. It won't. Also, if you are buying a new battery pack, you want to make sure it really is new. If it has been sitting on a shelf in the store for a year, it won't last very long. Manufacturing dates are important.
Avoid heat, which degrades the batteries.

To all those who own htc m7 device,
We are all aware of the very slow charging speed on this device, whether you are rooted or not it still makes no difference to the charging speed.
It takes round about 3 hours for a full charge from 0-100% when YOU ARE NOT USING THE PHONE, and if you use it while its charging it will go up to 5,6,8 and eventually 10 hours. The fastest charge I have had is when you put the phone in airplane mode and extreme power saving mode together. Having it on Power saver mode also boosts the charging speed considerably.
For this problem I bought qualcomm rapid charger 2.0 but it made no difference since the phone did not have this technology to support it. Now i am considering the 7.5W fast charger tc p900 with 1.5amps as I heard that one is more compatible with the One M7 but I am not sure if that is true?
Please post your reviews, experiences and suggestions if the 1.5A edition charger is faster and better for this device, if this charger is faster then how fast compared to the stock charger will it charge the battery going from 0-100%? And will this charger still affect the charging speed if you use the device simultaneously?
Hey guys hope you are all ok
I had a problem with charging my htc one m7 a message pop up telling me that the phone is unable to charge due to consumption of battery .. I can buy a new socket of charging or just a charging flat .. can it be a software issue ? And I see the front camera being not good enough .. I rooted my phone can this damage the camera software ?
Rooting should not hurt the camera unless you are overclocking or overheating your device.
I had a blue M7 that spontaneously reboot one time after plugging in the charger, and that was it, no more charging.
I have a Verizon M7 that I had an issue with last week charging, I let the battery drain down to 2% (I was traveling) and could not get to a charger . That night, I plugged it in, and by morning, it was barely reaching 95% battery. For whatever reason, the charge was super slow.
After that - it is charging like it used to and is back to normal speed. You may want to try a different cable, I have used the Ampre app and have seen it measure different cables differently. Some do not charge as well, and in those cases, phone may sense it and think it is not being charged fast enough.
Hello guys! I just purchased a second hand teclast x98 air 3g & charging seems bit strange to me. I've installed a battery meter and standard discharge rate is showing as ~2000-3000ma (I think?).
But mainly on charging with a normal microusb cable with a xiaomi multi ampere charger (3A/2A/1.5A) it doesn't charge but only maintains the charge at the moment. If heavy use then decreases too. I tried with 3 different cables & different chargers too, but it's the same.
Then finally I tried with another cable & it seems to charge but extremely slowly like 1% in 10-15 minutes. Maybe a bit faster when switched off.
So mostly it looks like only overnight charge is possible..
Also please state your optimal battery settings (display/intel display settings etc) for best battery life as well as smooth performance.
