Some more informations will help helping you. What Custom Rom? What exactly do you mean with "doesnt work"? Did you try to change the Sim pin and check if it is recognized again?

Reinstall your old Stock Rom and check what happens. Or install the correct JB release for your country.
No need to speculate about the cause.

hey thaidai i think i may have found the root cause to my issues and if you could clarify that would be great. it would appear that my sdcard is faulty so would plashing kernels from there have caused the issues i am having ?
Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active.
When I make a call i get no sound, microphone and earpiece are tested and working properly(I CAN'T HEAR THE PERSON, THE PERSON CAN'T HEAR ME).
Also, no sound when I put it on speaker.
I tried installing another stock rom but the problem persists..
First time it happened I removed battery and that solved the problem, now even removing the battery won't make it work.
Please help...
Nobody??
i537 or i9295?
Version of stock ROM?
Method of flash?
Tried factory reset?
I9295, 4.4.2 Kitkat, tried to flash through Odin.. tried factory reset and no result.
Also, I've wiped everything (data,system,boot,etc..) before flashing with Odin, using a custom recovery.

As you said you have checked the speaker phone and mic and confirm that it works so this eliminates any hardware issues.
Did you do the factory reset from within the phone in settings or through custom recovery. Suggest that you do the factory reset from within the phone in settings (prior backup of your internal sdcard data is required as this will get wiped out) as this solves most software / firmware issues. If still problem persists flash the entire firmware through odin (download from sammobile).
I have the same problem in the service menü i have no issue but when i make a call it doesnt work (sorry for my english)
Is it possible to make a logcat too see whats the Problem ?!

Not sure if logcat will show the issue, but yes we can check it out.
Normally these issues arise due to either mismatch in firmware (flashing different modem) or issues in the ROM itself. You can check by flashing entire firmware and if issue still persists then do a factory reset from settings (not cwm) and reflashing the firmware.
Did you flash any firmware files / modem and are you on stock touchwiz or custom ROM

Mic in speaker is a known issue in cm11. This has been fixed in 17.10 version. You can flash the 17.10 version and check
Factory reset from stock recovery only wipes the system and data while factory reset from within phone in settings resets much more than that.
Reflashing only stock ROM will not help... You need to flash the entire firmware through odin .

Ok which firmware (stock ROM) did you flash and can you send me a screenshot of your about from stock Rom
How can I know what modem suits my phone? I've flashed another stock rom from another region(earpiece and mic didn't work before) and the issue is still present.

It is always recommended to flash the modem for your region. ROM's generally are independent of region unless you have flashed the entire firmware. UCNE5 firmware so far seems to be safe and is known to work for most regions.
Which country are you from and which ROM did you flash.
I'm having the same problem, using CM11 or Stock.
Phone worked grate till 2 month ago (bougth on february). Tested different modems, different SIMS.
¿Maybe a hardware problem? ¿Maybe is bootloader/KNOX related? I think this as was using last TW from UK (I9295XXUCNH2), I'm from Argentina.

Flashing modem from a different region/carrier is sometimes known to cause this issue with certain carriers. Recommend that you flash only the modem for your region and carrier (not the entire firmware) and check it out else try flashing the entire firmware.
If mic and speaker is working fine in other apps then it will not be a hardware issue.

hmm..this is a tricky one.. You could try the NE5 modem from my drive to start with and see if it works, though I would recommend that you flash the one that you were on before while it was working properly.
Tested NE5 before posting, same results. Using official 20141018.
Original modem was 4.2.2, is there a modem repository?

Just one more question? are you using GSM or LTE, you could start by trying GSM mode only. Also just remembered this thread I stumbled upon yesterday which may be useful in unlocking the band used in your country/carrier.

Edit: another one which I searched and found today

Did a little search and you may refer to the below links for the bands for Argentina as well as those on I9295 which could be helpful

And now I tried to flash the stock firmware via odin and It lags like hell and keeps freezing and rebooting right after i get to choose my language. The other stock based roms won't work either. Hi guys, i have an s4 active i9295 with a bootloop, so i decided to flash stock rom via odin as i always did with samsung phones with this problem but every time i flash a rom (i tried different ones) the phone restarts as normal but when the samsung logo appears then it says on the top left with blue letters revocery booting, then it does something with a progress bar and an android logo above and restarts. When it boots again its back at the bootloop, im an absolute noob in this but what i understand is happening is that the phone is reverting the flash i did with odin and i want to know what am i doing wrong, is this supposed to happen? Any help will be much appreciated

I received the phone as it is with the bootloop, don't know much of its state before but i was told that it was a bad flashing procedure the cause of the problem. It had stock recoverys from the different roms i flashed in odin: I9295XXUDOB4
I9295XXUCNE5
I9295VJUDOF1
There was one time i managed to make it boot flashing CWM and installing cyanogenmod 12.1 but on restart it kept bootlooping again and i was unable to get it to boot again even repeating exactly the same steps i did before.
I want to make an absolute clean firmware flash with the original rom that this phone came in my country (VJUBMK4) but from what i understand once im on newer versions (im not sure if 4.3 or 5.0) i cant downgrade.
I really don't know what is it causing the bootloop, how can i get the pone to factory firmware? Am i doing something wrong?

Ah, it sounds like you have one of the devices with locked bootloaders then if you can't downgrade, if that is the case you can't use CWM, TWRP, CM or AOSP custom ROMs, those devices have to use Safestrap and modified Stock ROMs. Or you may can unlock the bootloader. I'm not sure that is your problem but you can check it out.
You can flash the newest stock firmware and just be done with it, you may not be able to root and flash custom but the device will at least work.

Take the cover off and pull the battery, the label under the battery should have the model number for the phone.
If the model is GT-i9295, then you have an unlocked bootloader and should be able to flash any firmware.
If the model is SGH-i537, then you have a locked bootloader and can only flash firmware meant for that phone.
Once we know which phone you have we can help you.

Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920G I need some help here. After a long time using custom roms, recently I've tried to flash a stock rom to my device (it was an Indian nougat rom from sammobile) and I got an error on Odin when flashing system. After that I lost my recovery (TWRP) an my Note 5 went only in download mode. Then a I flashed TWRP again and installed a custom rom again. Now I'm trying to flash any stock rom and I am getting random errors like "device 1 binary 0". I've tried many different roms and 0 luck. Someone could help me here? I never have this problem before and I just don't know more what to do.

Peace..
I'm having the same exact problem--I found firmware that only flashed to radio--then abruptly stopped--wiping my system, so i'm stuck in download mode, phone will not power off. Instead of flashing Nougat ROM, i opted to flash "stock" MM firmware (6.01) and let phone update to Nougat on its on---then re-root it. As of now I have a paper-weight and it appears there's no support for 920G

It's because you flashed Nougat and that's Android 7.0 and it now thinks you're trying to "downgrade", which is pretty much blocked by trying to use "stock" roms.. The only thing you could probably do is find the stock rom you're interested in flashing but make sure it can be flashed via TWRP.. I don't think you can use Odin now to flash backwards "downgrade" to another stock rom after flashing Nougat 7.0..

Well I figured out you can downgrade from Nougat to Marshmallow but that's only to a specific firmware version. Depending upon what bootloader has been flashed (meaning if you flashed Nougat bootloader you can only go back to Marshmallow with the same bootloader level).. But this is only working (surprisingly) on the locked bootloaders of Verizon and AT&T.. The other S6 Edge Plus I have with an unlocked bootloader and tripped knox that I recently acquired will not accept nothing stock which is unusual, but I'm still working on that one.
