Guys, why is the copy speed so low? If i connect the disk to a computer, the speed is 900 + MB / s
MEMORY UFS 3.1 256/512Gb > 1200MB/s, USB 3.1 Gen1 5Gb/s > 625MB/s
adb pull 180MB/s WHY ???? If i connect an SSD drive through this cable, the speed is 900 MB / s
Possibly the cable, not sure.
If i connect an OTG cable, the copy speed is 115MB/s It feels like it's just marketing and the phone is not capable of transmitting data at such a speed
not 10 pro but i have 8T with same USB 3.1 GEN1 and I get around 250mbps. maybe its not the port, ufs storage and kernel can affect it too.
You also have to remember you have an operating system on your phone that is running. It isn't a hard drive that is not being used for operating a device.

I plugged in a usb disk of 16gb, and it tells me that additional power is needed for the tab to read it, is it?
if you has a good low votage version of 16GB, then it will works.
I have had no problems with a 32 GB OCZ Rally 2.
Dear tech maniacs,
I would like to pose a simple question: why original USB data cable charges far too slow my Nexus 6 when connected to a PC (USB 2.0) running windows 10? It charges at around 80 mAh.... (a catastrophe...) Does this appear because of USB malfunction, motherboard's inability, data cable flaw, or wrong windows/android setting? (So many things to blame...)
I am running official windows 10 with all latest patches on it and stock marshmallow
It's normal. USB Ports doesn't provide much Amps = it's gonna be slow

Hello everyone,
I face a bothering issue with my brand new P20 Pro. While I really enjoy the phone, I have an issue with USB that drives me crazy.
According to specs, the phone supports USB 3.1. I do own a HP Spectre Notebook with USB 3 support , here´s the specs:
"2 Thunderbolt™ 3 (Data Transfer up to 40 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge); 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (HP Sleep and Charge); 1 headphone/microphone combo".
But no matter what I do, I won´t get past USB 2.0 ! With USB Device View and speed monitor I can clearly state that it is not connecting at USB 3 or USB 3. I tried connecting to the standard USB 3.1 port, or through a external hub I connect to the Thunderbolt port that supports USB 3.0. With a external HD I have all works perfect on USB 3.x.
Is there anything I can do to speed this up a little? To copy 50GB of data from old phone´s SD card (of course I first copied it all already to the laptops SSD drive,...) just takes forever...
Thanks !!
Cheers, Bruno
Hi, I'm connected via the stock Samsung cable to a USB3.1 port running Windows 10 onto a fast Samsung NVMe internal drive. Latest Samsung drivers installed. Transfers from the phone (S10e SD) are averaging about 50MB/sec. I was expecting a lot higher speed. An SSD in USB 3.0 enclosure and good USB stick are transferring the same large files at 400+ & 200+, but the phone is barely above USB 2.0 speed. Am I missing something?
Sorry for the bump but i could confirm that the super tiny and short USB cable in the box is 2.0... I don´t understand why...It is that the cable was in the original S10 box otherwise i thought it was a cheap clone... It works great with USB 3.0 cables from Ugreen but you need to buy it by yourself...
I would assume you have USB 3.0 support on your computer if you have an NVME drive. If that's the case, have you checked the drivers for your USB slots that use 3.0 on your Windows 10 machine?
When you say transfer with other devices do you mean transferring to/from your phone or to/from your computer?
Yes, RyZen rig with properly functioning USB. SSD in a USB enclosure transfers same files at over 400MB/sec. Phone is slow in both directions. This is from internal storage, not micro SD. Hopefully this isn't "normal" for this device, I was looking forward to upgrading this speed over my USB 2.0 S7.
I tried another cable, same result. Then I ordered up some cables that were explicitly touted as USB 3.0 cables, and had blue connectors. Transfer speed jumped WAY up. It appears the cable Samsung provides is USB 2.0 only. Lame of Samsung to skimp out on the cheapest part in the box & make their flagship look bad in the process. Well, at least the stock cable will do fine as a car charging wire.
