Hello there, I am tryig to sync my phone with usb cable via windows mobile center 6.1. My OS is Win Vista home premium. My device is recognized by PC as media device and thus it could be set up by windows media player. When the "advance network functionality" on my PDA is checked is off, the on PC -> Network connections there is no local area connection to the mobile device. If I am checking the check box, then the laptop creates the connection to the mobile device, active sync starts to work, but nothing. The sync process is not completed and the status on the PDA is "connected. BTW in this situation I am able to browse the device and its file contents.
Tried to uninstall->install the mobile center few times - the same. Upgraded to the official WM 6.1 - the same. When trying to connect to PC with WinXP and active sync 4.5, everything is fine. This causes me to think that the problem is definitely in Vista.
Please, if anyone have information on this problem or could help, would be great.
Thanks in advance to anyone who might post any feedback!
Regards,
Stephan
Hi all,
I have a problem here after I upgraded my laptop to OS Windows 7 and installed Windows Mobile Device Center.
at first, I can connect to PC via USB (transfer file OK) but can't sync with MS Outlook 2007. and then at another connection, i lose my phone contact at my device (but only older contacts, new stored contacts still exist),
but now i can't connect at all. PC & Windows Mobile Device Center software not showing any activities.
I've tried to re-installed my Windows Mobile Device Center software and hard reset my TyTn II but still can't connect. Icon on PDA, only charging icon. I tried with connection via bluetooth and it works, but I prefer a connection w/ USB cable.
My question:
How can I enable the USB cable connection?
need your suggestion please...
Sorry for my bad English...
Hello kartonodeh
I have the same problem too, only its somewaht different. On my main PC, I can use my phone completley , no probs. I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Windows Mobile Device Center, and actve sync.
On the other PC,I use windows 7 x32 ALTHOUGH i have Windows Mobile Device Center 2003.
I am not sure what is the problem/difference althoug I am now installing the new Mobile device center. Try it too, it may work.

I can connect through 64 bit and not 32 bit, which is REALLY weird since 32 bit drivers are, you know, MORE. Anyway, its made by Microsoft, what do you expect. I believe its a marketing scam
Theory: Make a windows device = 200$ income
Make new Windows 7 = 200$ income
But thats probalby just 400$ from each user WHO HAS BOTH!!. well, thats not enough. Make those two products not work together = customers telephone = $$$ from calls. Then, make only 64 bit drivers so 32 bit users HAVE to upgrade = another 200$.
Am I right?? Anyway all this is out of the thread so,
Possible fix :
1. Remove the device from device manager and disconnect Kiaser from PC (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb456985.aspx)
2. Uninstall Windows Mobile device center.
3. Reboot and reinstall WMDC.
4. Reconnect your Kaiser and hopefully the drivers should be reloaded.
Hope I helped
Start/settings/connection/usb to pc and uncheck "enable advanced network fuctionality

Windows Mobile Center is no longer used for WP7 devices, so it will not be visible for it. But you will need it for flashing the new ROM (in case you would like or need to), because it has the drivers for USB flashing connection mode. Otherwise is useless.

I have recently started using my X8 tethered via USB to my PC to receive Internet. The PC has frozen on a number of occasions requiring a reset via the PC reset button. This usually happens after being online about 30 minutes. The PC is running windows xp and has 1Gb of ram. My X8 is rooted and running 2.1 Any ideas as to what might be causing this? Thanks
What benifits will this bring to my 930?
Im curious about that and a noob in microsoft world
Sent from my Xperia Z using XDA Free mobile app
Customization.
there are some benefits like save appdata, change defaults color of Tiles, static ip, copy numbers from phone to sim and more, but lumia 930 has not slot for sd card, then you can't interop unlock it (only for now i believe), i'm so sorry. :crying: :crying: you coming from android yes?? imagine that the app giving you the root like framaroot need sd card to install superuser.
