The thread got closed since changing the IMEI is not allowed in some countries and this is an international website. C.f. the forum rules.

I am trying to get it through apps Firmware Finder and DNS changer. See screenshots.
Steps how to do it:
1. Install Firmware Finder;
2. Install DNS Changer
3. Open Firmware Finder;
4. Find your firmware (matching model No and C###) and click on it;
5. Click "Get update through DNS (beta)";
6. In DNS Changer change DNS to 81.177.139.39
7. Go to System update and check for updates.
8. After all of this you will get the ability to download the latest update, but server connection fails when I click install (with set DNS address you get the message "Server temporarily unavailable) or authorization fails if disable DNS changer..

What's your location ? I wonder if I can force that update through VPN/IP change.
The question is, have you been able to install this update?
You can only install with FF if the update is approved by Huawei for your device (in which case you should be getting an OTA update anyway).
If it's not approved by Huawei for install, you can use FunkyHuawei.

So does anyone else here have a problem seeing this spam for expensive paid services on XDA?
Remember when this site used to be about sharing the love with fellow members, rather than making cash by simply redistributing firmware.
I don't imagine Huawei would like this guy selling their software, even if XDA is taking a cut of his profits.

just got my mate 10 pro, first time huawei user and did not expect to pay for a firmwareupgrade.
i get that he discovered a method to authenticate the firmware so the device recognize it and thats a nice accomplishment but why charge other users for that?? he just injects some code through his dns server.. in my opinion every thread should be deleted that covers funkyhuawei and the user should be permabanned..

If the infrastructure to install firmwares were as simple as you describe, it would be available for free. Unfortunately, it's not nearly as simple as you describe.
FH incurs costs to provide things that are charged for, including the authentication of installations, the unbricking, the rebranding, and so on. On top of that, maintenance, R&D, support, and so on is a full-time job. That's why users need to be charged. Things like rooting the Mate 10 which don't cost FH are provided for free, even though R&D was necessary to accomplish it. Same goes for the TWRP versions we've released. It's nowhere near as profitable or as evil as you presume it is. The service could not possibly run if the users were not charged.
Regardless, there's absolutely no reason you'd need to use the service to install updates. You can wait for them to be released by Huawei and get them for free. It's simply an alternative for people who want to do things they otherwise can't, and it's not FH's fault that Huawei created this problem in the first place.
Maybe it's time to get this post back on topic, no?

Xda developers are getting their $$$ through donations and it’s understandable that most users will not like what you do
I am all up for donating my heard earned money to devs @XDA. I ain't no Warran Buffet (net worth 77.7 billion USD), but I donate about 25-50 EUR to each and every xda developer whose services/ROM I use and since I am switching between phones like every 5/6 months I donate quite a lot of money, but as soon as I saw your FunkyHuawei support thread/ https://funkyhuawei.club/ I was like naaaaaah I ain’t using it, especially because the way the credit system is built – before I bought ALP-L29 which I don’t need to rebrand to, I was thinking of buying ALP-L00 instead and rebrand it through https://funkyhuawei.club/ which would cost me 2 credits, but in that case I would have 3 credits left, since the minimum you can buy is 5 credits for 31 USD. That already looks like a rip-off.
I wonder whether if you would get more $$$ through donations than you do through your FunkyHuawei credit system..
Don’t get me wrong. It’s cool that such service exist (I’ve had one xiaomi phone for quite some time without the option to rebrand it/re-flash it and remove all Chinses stuff out of it, so I have been "there"), but you should either limit mentioning your paid service in every other topic and stick to one thread (FunkyHuawei support thread) or change your pricing policy enabling the option to buy a single 1 credit/single service (rebranding, for example), otherwise hate-posts will go on
Take care

So check out the longstanding Forum rules :
7. Do not spam, sell or trade on the forums.
If you wish to advertise a product, simply contact us. We can provide ads but you are not permitted to just post it in the forums. If you do, it will be removed and you're likely to receive a ban.
11. Don’t post with the intention of selling something.
Don’t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Proprietors of for-pay products or services, may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or a free version of their product for XDA users and to offer support, but not to post with the intention of selling. This includes promoting sites similar / substantially similar to XDA-Developers.com.
Do not post press releases, announcements, links to trial software or commercial services, unless you’re posting an exclusive release for XDA-Developers.com.
Off-site downloads are permitted if the site is non-commercial and does not require registration.
13. Advertising and Income Generation
Commercial advertising, advertising referral links, pay-per-click links and other income generating methods are forbidden. Do not use XDA-Developers as a means to make money.
And most importantly, The one that embodies the mindset of this forum to me : the sharing of tools and knowledge and not charging other members for services ..
12. Sharing
XDA-Developers is based on the principle of sharing to transmit knowledge. This is the cornerstone of our site. Our members and developers freely share their experience, knowledge, and finished works with the rest of the community to promote growth within the developer community, and to encourage those still learning to become better. There are those, however, who take advantage of this model and try to make personal gains from the hard work of others.
I think it's just disappointing that you've seen XDA as a way to make more money by simply charging high rates for redistributing Huaweis proprietary firmware, rather than embrace the spirit of all the other Devs who put in a lot of hard work and time to share their creations freely with other passionate members here.
It's like the exact opposite ethos of ROM development and the intention of these forums.
Sorry you view this as off topic.

There are no methods to unlock bootloader at the moment, neither paid ones, so not possible to root. This smartphone was a flop, nobody bought it, and now that Honor View 10 lite 4/128 costs almost the same it will be even worse, so don't expect too much activity on this forum.
Ok thanks.

Sorry I don't know anyone that can do that, maybe if you search in the forums of other honor devices you find a developer available for it. Tomorrow I'm changing smartphone though, and I'll sell this one, I'm done with Honor and Huawei brands.
HI you guys are awesome
Well hi all, I'm 'new', but not really that new, since I've been searching through XDA topics on many occasions for quite a few years now. Not sure why it took me so long to actually make an account, but here I am.
So about me - half geek, half creative, F/LOSS enthusiast for over 20 years, full time Linux user since 2006, interested in way to many subjects to ever become a specialist in any of them within at least a dozen of life spans. Hence I don't think I'll ever be able to call myself a developer, but hey, we'll see ;-)
Hello everyone, i'm back here after a long, long time
I used to read alot here when i was 10 - 15 but I think i switched to iOs during 2010s and i never really had my phone in the center of my occupations so i bought some macbook & iphone and i started to learn code. (mostly js)
I would be really happy to help users here, if i can, and discuss about my new device. 2020s seems to be redditable as **** tbh, the xda lost kid became some kind of creative dev who's going back to the r00t
Thank you for everything I have read here over the last years!
More than anything, XDA is a community, and we're all here for different reasons.
Some are here to mod their phone--some joined just to ask a question. Or perhaps, like many, you joined so long ago, you have no idea why you're here (which is totally fine! we've been around for almost a decade). And we're in the process of making XDA more useful to everyone here now that we've moved to much better forum software.
But we'd love to know your XDA story: why are you here, and who are you? What's your day job, what phones do you have, where do you live, what do you like to do for fun? We'd love to get to know you!
Also, be sure to spend some time filling out your profile:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/account/account-details
And also adding what phones you have to your inventory:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/account/xda-devices
thanks and welcome. I'm one of the guys in charge and my DMs are always open if you ever want to chat or even complain.
Go ahead and make a new thread in this forum instead of replying to this post.

2 does anyone know how to get Google Camera on the Samsung A10e without rooting or flashing because I have been trying but no success. If there is a way can you send the apk please?
And lastly how do I make a discussion? Thanks

Hello. I have an LG expression 3 and a MotoG 7 power .i am here looking for a ROM or theme for both phones.
A while back I had an AOPk boot animation that was awesome and the alien ROM ( I think) . it had awesome fonts and icons. I was wondering if UI theme kitchen is still around and if either phone is rootable and or would be compatible with the theme kitchen. ?? Its been a while but I really hope you can help me find something . both phones are pretty plain and boring .
Hey All,
I am a Redmi 5 user and I am here in XDA to find a way to root my phone and also see that, if there is any possibility that I can upgrade the Android version as mine is stuck at version 8.
Well i like the internet especially for the opportunity to learn from others and share information with people that equaly appreciate the content as much as i do.
Here i gonna admid i am more on the newby side.. I played around with phones in the past. Mostly following up tutorials of people that really understand what they are doing... And this way i can create something with their help that me on my own would be hard to accomplish... We build on each other in different aspects of life and here i am appreciating to receive knowledge of the ones that are really into electronics/software/programming. ..
Its a strange, extremly complex but logic world that i find myself in when dealing with modifiying electronics .
Thanks for sharing this with me

Welcome to XDA!
Have a good read and enjoy!
Hi. I'm a french CS engineer and a Debian addict.
I systematically root all my phones and have a specialization in tuning the iptables to not talk to the GAFAMs. Rooted phones so far : Huawei codenames HAM, NEML51, old samsung phones, a couple of Wiko phones.
I've been following XDA-developers for a decade and decide now to onboard :
* Short-term goal : get some help on a very edge case involving dm-verity and kali nethunter on Nexus5X (bullhead)
* Long-term goal : wait patiently for the day when a full debian phone / ubuntu touch will be available at a relatively low price, and help all along
hi. im just a nobody playing around with his phone 3
Hi,
I am a man from France half time of my life or more already. I am a computer scientist and GNU/Linux daily user.
I am a user of Android phone.
My historical phones were in the beginning Motorola (Startac), Ericsson (t18s), Nokia 3210, Alcatel one touch, Sony Experia Arc S, Sony Experia X3, and in the end of the 2010s I got a one plus 5T, and my current phone one plus 8T.
I found your forum because I was recently searching still a solution to get updated my Android Os on the One
Plus 5T.
I am a Linux user and I find very shame this impossibility to put freely the last version of Android and be able to use phone that hardware is sufficient but that os had been stopped. For ecology and the earth, This is bad thing and it should be possible to be able to change phone only when it doesn't work anymore in term of software but not hardware.
That's for the creation of this very helper forum .
Regards,
Ses Specs
