Has anyone in UK found a bank that that don't have too strict control over their app being run on a rooted phone ?
The bank I am with I can't use on a rooted phone it is still able to detect magisk's hide function and these crappy stock ROMs are driving me nuts.
The banking apps rely absolutely on safety meassures, and rooting is the anthitesis of safety, in fact, is a good thing that all banking apps refuse to work on rooted devices, for our own peace of mind
I often hear of banking apps not working with root or tripped knox. Just curious, what do these banking apps offer besides account management?
I just view my banking through my bank's website and in the past not even in mobile view. I hate mobile view but my bank's website is forcing mobile view on mobile devices now. I'm rooted & knox tripped, never tried my bank's app though so I don't know if it's affected.

There is an app that could "hide" the fact that the phone is rooted, from apps like the banking one. Used it on my previous rooted phone, but can't remember what's called (I'm now on a new, yet unrooted device). I'll look for it, but do a search with that condition...

The Co Op bank app still works, I do expect that to change at some point though.

I don't care much for that as I am not super rich and my account is more or less empty at the end of the month so I ain't got much to loose and besides I doubt any of the devs here on xda have evil intent.
I just need to keep track of bank balance so I know when not to buy something.
I just don't wanna run around with a second device from the bank in my pocket to be able to access my account from webview that I have to insert my card into to get a online banking code from every time.
I got a credit card that had an app which always use to work on rooted devices and still does. Never had any issues with that.
I find this extremely stupid that the bank allows me to view my account via a browser on a rooted phone bit not through the app.
That's so dumb.

Well it works fine on knox tripped as I have banking app on this phone which has been rooted from day one but now I am on Oreo stock unrooted and banking app works fine.
I don't mind the webview but my bank requires me to use a secondary device to view through the website that gives me an access code and it so stupid to have to carry that around with me.
Recently, I noticed that my banking app not allowed Root/Jailbreak devices. I find guide on Google and found that I should activate MagiskHide. When I activate MagiskHide on banking app then enter Banking app, Banking app crashed. When I deactivated MagiskHide on Banking app, App not crash but not allowed me to use. I already try hide magisk manager but it didn't help.
Payback (not Paypal) is a customer rewards service in Germany
It has the function to pay in store with a QR code, this is where it checks for root and denies paying.
Asus Zenfone Zoom, MM 6.0.1, Magisk Core 24
No problems with Gpay or banking apps, even get DKB tan2go working with the freeze Manager trick.
@Tr4sHCr4fT
Would you mind explains the "freeze"? I've been looking for a tan2go solution for ages.
Thanks
Hello all,
I'm new to using Pixel Experience on my Pixel 2 XL and am running into an issue with one banking app. I installed version 12 of Pixel Experience and the TD Bank app won't even show up in the Play Store. If I try and download it from the web, I get "Your device isn't compatible with this version". I went ahead and installed Magisk and enabled MagiskHide but that didn't seem to help much. Since I can't even get it installed, I can't specifically hide root for that app.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Fred
In my prior experiences with a rooted device on which banking account didn't work it did with island. Maybe you can install the banking app to island and use it there, because within island there is no root

Thanks I will look into Island as I wasn't familiar with it. I did end up getting it working by exporting the app APK from another phone and installing it on this one.

Does anyone know the APK name of Gpay or Google Wallet which is preinstalled with Miui 14?
My Problem is that when i try to pay with nfc the Google Wallet App (which i didnt Install) opens automatically. I prefer paying with my Banking App, but as long as Gpay or Google Wallet opens i cant pay.
Thanks.
you chose the other app for payment and it still wants to pay with Gpay ?
did u try to disable Gpay ?

that's strange. Did you try to disable Gpay/wallet app ?
I cant find Gpay/Wallet anywhere in the installed Apps (system Apps actived). Even with debloater and root i cant find anything related to Gpay or Wallet. Thats super weird. When i use nfc the wallet App opens magically.
