I'm thinking about switching from MIUI to Pixel Expierence, but I'm still a bit indecisive about some things.
Are all Google services included with the Rom or do you have to install them separately (and if so, where and how)?
Does the NFC chip work
Is the display with 60 hertz or with 90 hertz and is it possible to change it?
Works the fast charging with the 33W fast charging cable
How is the battery life with the rom
I hope that I can get some answers and tips here
Fast Charging works on Pixel Experience and in other ROMs perfectly for me, 90hz is enabled by default after installation (and yes u can turn it off). Battery life is okay, it lasts for an entire day for me but it's depending on usage.

I don't use NFC but uhm about Google Services, from what I noticed is that most of the apps are there but eg. Gmail isn't pre-installed (unless I just have to connect to Wi-Fi to do so) but yeah after setting it up... there's not much. And yea logging in to Google Account etc. works natively on this ROM.

1) Everything works including the certified play store.
2) Yes, NFC works perfectly.
3) Yes, it works and you can change it even for all applications separately.
4) Fast charging also works and relatively faster than in MIUI itself.
Battery life is perfect...

Google Services come preinstalled and SafetyNet tests pass just fine. Banking apps and payment will work as long as you don't root the device.
As long as you have a device with NFC hardware (SPESN), it will work. If you have the normal one (Spes) NFC options won't exist in any menu or setting.
90Hz, you can go to Settings > Screen to turn off "Smooth Screen" or set refresh rate per app.
Fast charge works just fine, you'll feel it specially when going from 0 to 60%.
In my specific case the phone's battery lasts 1.5 days, or 2 entire days if smooth screen is off. Extreme battery saver makes it last even more but the phone struggles to run anything other than messaging apps.

Maybe try a different Gapps package? I use TK's Nano package and havent seen high GP battery usage.

There is a thread about disable Google Play services.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2999821
And: settings - Data usage - <per app setting>
Restrict app background data
Must be a rom, gapps or dirty installation problem cause doesn't happen on stock 5.1.1.
Got an Android Wear device connected?
first off, 3% used for google play services with that amount of use is not much, as is not an issue, at all. if you showed something like 15%+, id say yea, that a bit much for battery use..

Yup. Get an IPhone and won't have that problem.
Sometimes sync causes a problem for me when it comes to the wakelock, but then again my university's Wifi is set up weird so drains my battery for some reason and usually makes gapps act up. Anyways, manually managing sync seems to have decreased my google play services battery useage about 4% on an average charge.
Heavy battery drainage for last few months. Even more battery drain since One UI 2.0 update in my unlocked Note 9 Snapdragon phone.
Things did:
1. Formatted the entire device.
2. Cleaned cache.
3. Greenified all unnecessary apps.
4. Location access set to only when using the app.
5. Dark mode enabled to all available apps in the device.
6. Fast charging only with original cable.
7. All necessary settings changed.
8. Dark wallpapers and Lock Screen.
Things it always runs on:
1. Bluetooth with Gear S3 and Buds.
2. Location permission turned on when using the app only.
3. Edge Screen set to ON.
4. Edge Lighting set to ON.
5. Screen AOD is set to Tap to Preview.
Im having the same problem too and it made me wonder that samsung might be doing this intentionally forcing you to upgrade to note 10. maybe note 10 sales not doing quite well as expected?
maybe rooting and using a custom firmware might solve this. but which one is more like stock with extra features and easy on the battery?
i am having battery drain on exynos version SM-N960F on stock android pie. it started almost 2 months back. may be some apps are doing this.
maybe you guys need a new battery? mine is fine even on android 10
The sm-n960f has reported terrible battery life across the board since day 1. Few people with it have been happy here on the forums.
I have the snapdragon on 10 and as if right now my phone's been on for 3 days without charge, 4 hours SOT with roughly 6 hours of LTE Pandora streaming.
You can try checking your Google account sync in settings>accounts and backups>accounts>{your Google account}>sync account
Are any of the items showing a circle made of 2 arrows on the right side of the screen? This means you have a sync error. These are because Android/Samsung's battery savers have placed that corresponding app in sleep mode.
So if you have a calendar sync error, you'll need to go to settings and search for "optimize battery usage", and search for both the calendar app and the calendar storage app. (Usually calendar, contacts, ECT have 2 apps) and de-optimize them. This should help immensely.

Just de-optimizing them isn't quote the solution. It only will make a difference if they are failing to sync under account settings>(your Gmail account). You'll know this because alongside calendar, contacts, ECT, there will be a gray circle. And what ends up happening is Google keeps trying to sync, keeping the phone activate and draining battery.
This happened to me sometimes after is updates, but as of Android 10, it hasn't been a problem and battery life has been good.
Maybe your right. I've not seen any improvement in battery as of now. Still draining heavily

This is also a common problem. There are 2 separate solutions. I would try them in this order
1. Clear app data /cashed for play services
2. Install Google play services beta from the play store
See if that doesn't improve battery life.
Hi all,
Is anyone facing an issue with google play services draining the battery...I get so angry when I see that damn app draining my battery...the battery stats says it's running in the background...why, I don't know! It's recent phenomenon and has been running since the past 20hrs or so...how do I solve this? I'm not sure cleaning the data/ cache would be ideal as this would only lead to more drain since play services will try to download all the info that it has previously....any help will be greatly appreciated!
So 1% battery loss from a system service running for 20 hours in the background is a big problem...?
I'm a bit confused here...

Ah, so 0.16% battery per hour. So a bit more than normal. What version of the phone do you have (which processor) and what apps do you have installed that weren't listed?
Also, how do you keep charging your phone so slightly as shown in the picture?
Oh yes, GPlayS will eat up the battery...
Download Karma Firewall and block Google Play Services. It may be shown by it's UID, on my 10+ it's 10044.
You can unblock it as needed like for Gmail or Playstore (block Playstore as well*).
Block Android Services as well, UID 1000.
It's pretty useless but polls the internet 2 times every minute, GPlayS is 4 times a minute.
On Pie Karma's logging feature works so I can see what each apk is doing or not... Q and up sucks.
*disable if you have a package blocker except when needed. A reboot is required and GPS must be unblocked too for Playstore.
Clear Google Play Services, Backup Transport and Framework data as well. Best to disable the latter two. Someone told the latter two aren't present in Q... I can't verify that either way.

Hi, I have the 21Ultra 12/256. The funny thing is that play services started acting up only lately...I have been using the phone for 1 week+ and this app starting going berserk just 20 hours ago! Power management, you refer to the ones that show in the battery settings right? But I don't know how the battery power management settings relate to google play services drain...I have betterbatterystats and it shows that google play is the top most draining app...why I can't understand...
I have a feeling it's the feb update that's messing with the battery settings..Jan update was cool...is there a way to roll back to update before AUB6?
Here's an update...I uninstalled the updates to google play services and cleared the cache. Rebooted...and all's going well so far.
Definitely try out the suggestions made by @destz0r in the video that he left. I guess that I don't ever experience the same problem as I always leave location services disabled unless I'm directly using them for navigation. But I never would've guessed that GPS occasionally leads to more GPlay Service specific battery consumption (as I had thought that GPlay Services were primarily for inner-Google app data communication)...

Power management seems to create conflicts after a few days running. GooglePS includes Backup Transport and Framework. Even when turned off they continue to run in the background on my device.
Play with it, see what you find but don't ignore and let this trashware toast your battery.
Looking at the OnePlus 10 pro on paper, it has everything you would possibly need to achieve incredible screen on times.
The idea behind this besides some healthy competition is to whittle out the bugs and battery draining apps and habits.... in the hope that we all benefit from the knowledge learned and gathered.

Some tips for better battery life.
Change 5G to 4G
Remove Facebook use web based
Remove Facebook messenger use web based
Remove Twitter use web based
Remove any ad based apps pay for the pro version
Turn off gestures like lift to wake
Change from QHD to FHD (No difference)
Allow auto brightness
Turn off WiFi overnight
Turn all updates to manual not auto (play store)
Remove any so you don't use
Change back up to once a month (WhatsApp)
Turn off location history (Google)
Use titanium to remove any system apps you don't need
Don't allow anonymous usage statistics for any app ever.
Don't allow tracking cookies on any website
Use adaway (root needed)
Don't open web pages in Google app (I use Samsung browser)
Don't use xposed.
If you game you will not get high SOT scores, period.
Don't bother with battery saving apps or monitoring apps.
Streamline your apps, if you don't use it, remove it.
Don't allow WiFi scanning (as in letting other apps use it when it's not on)
Never allow personalised ads.
Never allow notifications from websites
Always decline cookies unless your absolutely have to allow some tracking (common sense prevails here)
Optimise as many apps as possible unless it affects performance.
Don't allow apps to remain open in the notification area.
Change your launcher, my preferred launcher is lawn chair and this did actually burn up some battery when compared to the OnePlus launcher.
Don't use live widgets (yes they look cool, but they annihilate your battery)
Live wallpaper, again very cool, but battery burners.
Again! Don't charge overnight, make a note of your percentage then see what it is in the morning, you shouldn't be losing more than 5% really, if you've done well then it'll be reflected here, the good SOT results will follow.
Turn off live read outs of network speed, RAM usage in the status bar.
Turn off NFC unless in use.
Leave location on in quick settings.
Don't overcharge your phone, IE: overnight
Don't allow your phone to fully deplete the battery.
Whatever anyone says, this does 100% damage batteries, there is no argument here and I won't entertain anyone who says otherwise, Ive seen through real life tests what this results in, bloated, inefficient, possibly dangerous lithium batteries.
Keep your phone out the sun.
Keep it out of extreme cold.
Keep your device clean and dust free.
Snapchat, Viber, house party, apps like that tend to use more battery as they don't have great dormancy periods, use them if required and get rid.
Apps like speed test by Ookla tend to have location tracking, similarly they tend to turn themselves on and off when they feel like it, my advice, install test and uninstall.
Allow a couple of battery cycles between tweaking sets, to give you an idea of how much of a difference you've made.
Use BBS to see what is being used, once you've removed problems, remove BBS.
I've just written this from the top of my head so I've probably missed some things, the general idea is to keep your device clean and fresh, remove files / apps / mods / widgets / features you don't need any more.
Keep an eye on apps that misbehave or aren't wanted, index your folders so they aren't a mess.
The more good things you do means the more potentially bad apps you can have on your phone, eg if you really need Facebook, you could keep it so long as you clean up other areas of your phone.
Hope this helps.

Comparing the two I prefer lawnchair, nova is a little too flicky for my liking, I prefer smooth transitions and fluidity rather than overly quick and flicky, you'll know what I mean when you install it 2% is still 2-6% better than the 8 pro..

Try disabling Google play Services when not needed. It has a bunch of power sucking dependencies. I disable more Google system apps than that on my N10+, but disabling play services may be enough to tone it down especially at night.
Use manual brightness control and keep below 50%.
Social media apps should never be installed for a variety of reasons including excessive battery consumption... just saying.

Agreed, it sounds optimized to me! Hell yeah.
Most Android phones need to be optimized to get best performance... just the way it is.
I go to settings>apps, search for play, then disable/enable it there. I use it 2-3 [email protected] day, sometimes less.
If the disable option is grayed out, go to security and disable Find my Device as a system Administrator.
So many big sister Gookill system apps I hate...

If the disable option is grayed out, go to security and disable Find my Device as a system Administrator.
So many big sister Gookill system apps I hate...

Just done it but getting a lot of dings every time I unlock, little annoying tbh. I'm just wondering is the call to open services actually using battery ? I dunno. Perhaps if there wasn't a load of notifications..
I'll leave it for this cycle and maybe see how it compares next time, I'm not out over the weekend so have a good location to get fault results.

On my phone it can suck up to 1+%@hr with screen on... so it adds up. No reasoning with it.
You can kill those very annoying notifications; Gmaps, Gmail, do it; disable notifications. There may be more depending on your configuration.
Leave the warning running and when you disable notifications in the right app... it will stop. Instant gratification
Is there any battery life issue that anyone may have encountered ever since the previous two updates.. my 6000mah battery that used to stay for 2 days minimum has gone to a single day. It's all been after the update and i saw plenty of forums in Asus itself of the same thing.

Anyone got any leads for this?
You're just overthinking. Stop staring at the battery percentage 24/7 and enjoy the damn phone.

You damn right! But how, bro. When u were accustomed to charging ur phone once in two days and you have to subtract 24 hours from that.. it surw changes the usage from a gaming plus daily driver to either one of the lot .. change for the bad questions a lot of stuff

What is your battery usage? Have you tried a factory reset?
What is showing as consuming most power? An optimized debloated ROG 3 with a healthy can go a week on stand-by with data enabled and even longer (no kidding) and easily 2-2.5 days with normal use.
You have to pinpoint what is doing it. It's wearing down your battery as well...

Yes, twice. Still does the same thing.

I tried, actually. The thing is i fear the Android system itself. Coz in one of the threads on the Asus website forums, there were people discussing Play Store or Play activities that keep auto restarting and also twin apps.
So for starters i did try to force close play services (can't disable coz of the emails), then battery turned out great. But afterwards it started reducing again. Same with twin apps.
I ain't kidding too. It's supposed to a 2-2.5day phone easily with the 6000mah battery, but for me it's a single day max to max a 12+ (3-4) hour phone

Ok. I also had some battery drain (not on idle tho) and installed Kirisakura kernel, seems to have solved the issue for me. I also wiped Dalvik cahe. It may also have been the solution

You can also try to use the Naptime app, it forces the phone into Doze when screen is off. Adb access or root is needed
GSAM can also be used to find the culprit
If disabling Goog Play Services stops the issue, it's likely linked to one or more running apps or processes. It's likely not Play Services itself but because one or more other components are making calls to it. Try to review all the running apps & services on your device and selectively disable them and gauge the difference. Apps that do a lot of syncing, using location services, excessive notifications (cloud messaging), Firebase indexing, etc etc.... If you have a good app manager tool, that will make the hunt easier.

That's great, will try the kernel coz I still haven't rooted my phone. Does the kernel need root?

Does installing a Kernel need root access? Coz I don't want to root as of now.. and i haven't installed a Kernel ever.. is it riskier than a root?

Yes, this kernel requires root
