Hi! To cut a long story short, is it possible to downgrade the bootloader? I've heard that when you use the command
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock_critical
you can flash low-level firmware partitions like the bootloader, would anyone care to elaborate?
Don't know much bout that, but I'd suggest you stay as far away if from it as possible.
What do you need it for?

Just follow the normal guides that are already on here...the process is the same. You might also have to use Revolutionary to unlock the bootloader to flash the recovery image, tho

To check just boot Hboot and if you see "UNLOCKED" at the toof the screen you should have root permissions. To flash a custom recovery you can use the Toolkit you find under Development section of the forum or simply through fastboot with " fastboot flash recovery (recoveryname)". Eg if your recovery is called " CWM5.img" the command is " fastboot flash recovery CWM5.img". Then from your custom recovery you can flash custom rims

I doubt this will get a reply but what's the best method for unlocking the Bootloader on the G1, HTC's official method or flashing a new Bootloader? (read it somewhere)
If you use HTCs method you will need to fastboot flash a new kernel after any ROM change, really a big pain in the butt
I would say use the tried and true methods of downgrading, exploiting, and then flash away to hearts content
anyone know how i can relock the bootloader and re-enable FRP?
is it basically flashing the stock firmware from HuRupdater.zip in twrp
then rebooting into bootloader and issue the relock command
then in boot disable OEM-Unlock?

Did you ever found this out? I want to unlock the bootloader, but only if I can relock it, because if it's unlocked, the sale value drops. Let me know please =D
Without knowing if it's possible I wouldn't risk it, who knows if Huawei doesn't allow it and you're going to end up with a bricked phone.
Hello, how do I completely unlock the bootloader?
When I try to do "fastboot erase recovery/boot/system" for example - it tells me that I am not allowed to.
I unlocked the bootloader so why did I get a partial unlock?

Why would you want to erase any of those in fastboot? Are you trying to flash a custom ROM or something? Why not use TWRP instead? Unless you're trying to flash a GSI, in which case I've never seen anyone suggest erasing anything other than userdata, or maybe system, in fastboot.
Are you purposely trying to brick your device?
If you used an unlock code to unlock your bootloader, then it fully unlocked. However, there are still limitations. For instance, you cannot downgrade the bootloader after upgrading to Pie.
If you want another recovery, just flash another recovery. If you need to flash another boot.img, then just flash it. I can't think of any valid reason to do what you're trying to do.

Yeah, sorry I was a little upset because they are always responding with phrases like "soon it will be updated" etc.
Since February. Its May now.
I just don't use Motorola phones anymore and if someone asked me for opinion I didn't recommend Motorola/Lenovo.
They are a bunch of liars. period.

If you're not using Motorola phones anymore, then why are you worried about modifying one?
If you're so distraught over the experience, just get another phone and move on.

It's either unlocked or not. There is no partial unlock. Why are you trying to erase recovery? Or boot? You simply flash over those. You're attempting things that will for sure brick that phone. Maybe that's why the bootloader doesn't allow it.
Hi there,
I'm currently trying to re-lock the bootloader of my Xperia XZ1C. I already flashed to stock firmware.
Like some people have issues to unlock the bootloader (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/sony-xperia-xz1-sov36-bootloader-unlock-issuae-issue.4182675/), FlashTool fails the same way for me to re-lock.
As soon as I start BLU, the tool fails with ERROR-Cannot invoke "String.split(String)" because the return value of "java.util.Properties.getProperty(String)" is null.
fastboot oem lock does not work either (unknown command).
Is there any known way how to re-lock the bootloader?
Thanks in advance!
Reinstall fastboot ADB, install a newer version
[TOOL][Windows][Script]Get & Install Latest Official ADB & Fastboot Drivers
Most ADB-FASTBOOT installers are provided in UPXed .EXE-file format hence it's not transparent what they are internally doing unless you decompile it. So I decided to write the whole thing as a Windows CMD script thus everyone should can read...

You cannot re-lock the XZ1c bootloader.
All of the guides for unlocking emphasize that pretty clearly.

No, they won't. The phone has been out for many years, and a large number of very smart people have tried.
And if they used an eFuze or something then it's definitely irreversible.
Don't get the person's hopes up with "maybe one day".
For all intents and purposes, the answer is no.

Then what shall you say then?

You're kidding, right? If you started _exploring_ whether there was a way, then until you solve the problem, it's still not possible until you actually do it.
Your attempts don't change that, though we could potentially say "you can't right now, but some folks are working on trying."
if I tell you I'm trying to build a time machine, does that mean time travel is possible? Of course not. That only changes when it's successful.
