Hello!
Right now, I'm a Samsung S8 user due to its release on dex mode. In near time, I'm planning to change to P20 Pro (actually, any Huawei phone with easy projection system)..
I'm using hp lap dock on my S8 to have a portable laptop experience.. But I'm wondering whether easy projection works on HP lapdock out of the box? (since Samsung dex system runs with some problems with it).
Anyone can share experience?
Ask to try a demo unit at a store with your lapdock.

Sadly, not yet, and I couldn't check it out either, because P20 Pro is not officially available in my country yet, so there are no place to check the compability...
Wouldn't take a risk, so I still stay on my rooted galaxy S8..

i have tried to connect an Huawei p20 with same results. Looks like keyboard is the only thing connecting... Both Phone and lapdock on latest Firmware.
I tried with a Mate 20 x. Wired or wireless is a no go. The weird part is that I can screen cast with my Galaxy Note 9 but not with the Mate 20 x. I though this was standard protocol.
i tried a huawei mate 20 pro as well. Did not work wired and wireless. i updated the wireless firmware to the latest. just the keyboard seems to work.
Did someone updated the wired firmware and tried it?

Is any developer reading this thread? Especially from Phoenix.
I'd like to read the dmesg (or equivalent for the right daemon). I suspect the kernel build in the 8.1 release for the P20, does not handle DP over USB-C properly. Either power handling or resolution. hotplug events during modeset? Any powerstate change errors?
In case anyone can make sense out of this, so far I believe it's kernel related.
Mate 10 Pro did not work with Microsoft Display dock.
P20 Pro does
Mate 10 Pro worked with the apple USB-C to HDMI dongle. But in 720p only
P20 Pro works with the same dongle, but in 1080p
Macbook Pro can connect to the Lap Dock and use it in 720p or 1080p.
The Microsoft Display Dock also supports 1080p. So why on earth can the P20 "talk" to the display dock fine but not the lap dock? It can't be just resolution setting. I believe the Note 9 supports the same resolutions. In reddit, it appears someone at least, got their Mate 20 Pro connected. So I suspect it's how Display Port alternat mode is handled, precisely how the host device is detected, that is the issue. Hence, dmesg could help.
Anyone able to upgrade to 9.0 pie with a lap dock can try? Mine won't upgrade, HiSuite keeps complaining that I am not connected to the internet! I tried 5.0.1.300, 5.0.2.300, 8.0.1.300 all to no avail.
So my Huawei Mate 20 PD has worked on lapdock. After a few tries of disconnecting and reconnecting it worked.

I haven't gotten my m20x to work yet with it. What error were you getting that was fixed by just plugging/unplugging a few times? At first I thought it was the cable, so I got a thunderbolt 3 cable. I get a different error now but still no dice. Works on my Razer phone 2.
Hi, I’ve got a Galaxy Note 9, a Surface Pro 3 and PC with a Bluetooth dongle. I’m trying to use Samsung Flow with my computers.
Between my Surface Pro 3 and my Note 9 everything works great. Instead, when I try to use Samsung Flow with my PC, I can login through my smartphone but then the Note 9 is immediately disconnected.
Is it possible that it happens because my PC does not have a wi-fi dongle (I use ethernet)? Can I solve the problem buying a wi-fi dongle?
It’s odd, but before I had a Galaxy S7 Edge and everything worked fine with Samsung Flow and my PC.
Thanks!
During launch time of that phone company said that you can also use black shark controller with it.
So any one have any experience about it.
Redmi k20 pro controller
Can I use two controller left side & right side simultaneously on redmi k20 pro?
I'm with 9t (but it's the same for all of as).You can use only the left pad for gaming with special app.If you connect the right one - you will get mouse pointer and nothing more.
I asked in the k20 forum,if somebody can port the apps from joyui so we can use both controllers - 0 answers.
Better get black shark or red magic if you want something with good controller support
As I mentioned,
I have Mi Note 10 with MIUI Android 10, and I tried to use my flydigi wasp 2 gamepad. And when it connected, I couldn't use all the touchscreen including home back button, the only thing I could do is to switch off the gamepad. And the other day , I tried Mocute One Handed Gamepad with Panda Gamepad Pro App, but the result was same. So the conclusion from my experience is Mi Note 10 cannot use gamepad who use FlashPlay
Technology. I don't know why that happened. but maybe the problem is same like redmi note 8.
Any Suggestion what I have to do ? I am thinking to install Custom ROM , but I don't think it will help
Anyone else not having any luck connecting to Android auto?
Vehicle is a 2020 Lotus Evora GT and my previous Huawei mate 20 Pro connects just fine. My S21 ultra on the other hand doesn't. Pretty annoying. Tried multiple cords no luck.
same here, my Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G device works fine with Android Auto, pretty strange.
No problem so far with 3 hyundai vehicles
I faced similar issues and by changing 4th cable I got it working . Never faced any issue with my NOTE 20 ultra earlier .
I installed a Kenwood Unit in my car that has Wireless and USB connections for Android Auto. Both are working fine with my S21 Ultra. No Issues so far....

what's the make and model of the cable you used that works?
My 2 cents. This May not be relevent to your issue ,but I also was having problems
I have the samsung leather case.
Opening is too small to properly seat USB C cable( the plug shoulders make contact with case) I removed case and seated USB cable and it worked.
I again say this may not apply.
