I found following problem: I am using now for quit a while a TomTom Navigator. On a MDA there is absolutely no problem, but if I connect the GPS Mouse to a MDA II or XDA II the PDA starts do beep an a MMS or WAP session will be started. Therefore I guess there is a difference in the Connector, probably only a very minor one. Founs somebody something comparable ??
There is NO difference, execpt for the Audio-out, it will only work with Pin19 shortened to ground for audio output.
Chargers, cables headsets etc. shopuld all work....
Hi !
I have the same problem with royaltek GPS.
Any help ?

Right, on BOTH it is Audio-ground.
If you think it is not on the XDA II, why does audio work with an XDA I carkit ?
make sure you have incoming beams turned off in the connections tab in systems
my old xda 1 used to do it when i plugged my gps into it ysed to dial up wap or connect to gprs lol when u turn that off it shoudl work fine

I thought I would add my tuppenyworth to the Tomtom problems with the XDA 2i. Bought a wired Tomtom "Official" GPS receiver for it and tried it with TT5 to no avail. It would not recognise the receiver at all no matter how I tried to specify it's com ports etc..
I eventually upgraded to TT5.1 and it worked immediately with no problems at all. Been working fine ever since.
if it matters
hi, i have a xda 2i and use tomtom 5.20, when i use my wired gps i was told to switch off the infra red beam, mine seams to work like that.
port problem?
could anybody help? my xda2i never works with tomtom5...
how to switch the beam off pls??
switch off receiving beam????
under setting > connections > beam
O2 XDAIIi with tomtom 5.21 and BT GPS receiver
but there is still problem with the signals, it can display the right UTC time, and numbers of satellites, such as 29 on the North, but there all gray and said no valid GPS signal!
the com ports couldn't be changed which are com5 inboard, com6 outboard.
does anyone know what the proble is pls??
ps: I installed the BTHTools1100, but no change
see the attachment pic
many thanks
Hi Piers,
i've got exactly the same problem :-(.
With a GlobalStar BT348, the GPS signals are plainly perfect. But when i connect the official Tomtom wired receiver, i only get the grey bars, although, like you, the UTC and spinning wheel are there, indicating the GPS is detected.
I looked at the compatibility list on the Tomtom site, and besides Dell and iPaqs, there seems to be nothing compatible with the wired receiver.
Anybody has other information?
Hi again,
I think I found the solution
1. of course, "receive all incoming beams" has to be off
2. apparently, you can not have a paired BT GPS receiver (even inactive) when you want to use the wired Tomtom receiver...
I guess it has to do with the way WM2005 deals with GPS... :?:
So, in BT devices, delete the partnership with the BT receiver and everything works fine with the wired one. In TT5, simply declare the receiver as a wired Tomtom
I used it this morning, driving 100km, 90minutes, without a crash or anything
hi, I have an O2 XDA IIi and have a Qstarz BT-Q880 bluetooth GPS receiver. I can connect the XDA to the device but it only shows in the outgoing connections (and not the incomming connections) in the Bluetooth active connections manager on the XDA, is this correct?
Also the connection is disconnected after a couple of minutes, is this normal and if so how do I get it to stay on?
The reason I ask is because I cannot get my Tomtom 5 software to find the bluetooth GPS receiver.
Is it a faulty receiver or is my XDA faulty or could they just be incompatible with each other or Tomtom.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.
Hi,
Try this thread first http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=40023 hopefully it should sort your problem out.
I have just bought a jabra jx10 and paired it with my BA under Helmi vamilla 1.4 ROM. Previously I was using a plantronics M2500 which worked fine with tomtom but the jabra seems to be using the same port/interfering with the gps.
When TT6 and mu BT338 gps are on, they work fine but as soon as I switch the jx10 on, tomtom loses the connection with the gps and a connection is made with the headset + I think TT tries to comunicate with the jabra as it bips regularly with TT on.
Does anyone know how two make both devices work simultaneously?
It worked perfectly with my old M2500...
anyone ?
I can't see how you are using the same port for both devices, but you may as well check.
Start - Settings - Connections - Bluetooth - Com Ports
Should see a list of devices and they should all be on diffrent "COM" numbers. It should be impossible to put two devices on the same port.
I would think you just have a headset that doesn't support more then two connections to one device, most older Bluetooth devices don't and theres still some new ones that don't. It's mainly a host thing, but not in this case. No amount of fiddling with your Blue Angel is going to fix the issue I'm afraid.
In fact, you have already stated it is not an issue with your Blue Angel as it works with your other headphones, which maybe is why no one else has replied.
I have a Htc TyTn WM6 and had a Jabra JX10 with TomTom gps receiver and it worked fine.
Two days ago my Jabra JX10 broke so I bought a Jabra JX10 Series II and now I have the same conflict as described in this post.
Can anyone please help?
Can the 6510 be used as a bluetooth GPS? I have a Hermes and would like to be able to bond it to the 6510 for GPS use. I have played with it some in the past but could never get it working.
Never Mind....

Good Call.
Changing COM ports?
I've got a 6515a and a Hermes. Prior to upgrading to WM 6.1 on the Hermes, I was able to connect the two devices for GPS thru bluetooth, but now I can't get a connection. Is there anyway to change the COM port for bluetooth Serial porting? My Hermes only gives me the option of COM 1,3,5,8, but 6515 broadcasts on 4. Any way to change 6515 to 5?
hello,
I would like to buy a Parrot CK3100 (BlueTooth car kit), but I wonder if it works perfectly with Himalay under WM2006. Is the directory correctly and automatically loaded on the Parrot ? Are all the functionnalities of the Parrot working with the Himalaya ?
Thanks in advance for your answer,
regards
Blg
You shouldn't be able to access your contacts through Parrot CK3100.
Sascha
Ok, thanks for your answer. Have you tried the XDA II on the CK3100, or is it just a bet ?
The reason why I a m asking this question is that on a GPS device (Garmin ZUMO), the directory is automatically and correctly loaded (as well as the last received numbers and last dialled numbers). So it seems that the XDA II is able to do it.
Is there someone owning the two devices (XDA II and CK3100) who could confirm the good or bad working ?
By the way, my ROM's version is 7.0c.40CS.
Thanks in advance.

I use CK3000 but I would be surprised if CK3100 could access XDA II contacts.
Sascha
I understand your surprise.
But I was surprised when all my XDA II contacts have been downloaded automatically and without being prompted on my Zumo device.
Seems the WM2006 allows this (at least on my XDA II ))
This is the reason why I am looking for someone owning both CK3100 and XDA II under WM6 !

Yes, it works!
I have a Qtek 2020 (aka Himalaya) and a Parrot CK3100 Black Edition and it works (almost) perfectly.
When you turn on the ignition the Parrot activates showing the Owner Information, the Network you’re connected (operator), the Signal Strength, the Battery Level and it synchronizes the Contacts, even the ones you have multiple numbers (ex.: Thomas w/; Thomas h/ as in Thomas (work) and Thomas (home)). It even gets the last Received, Dialed and Lost calls (not always). You see an ActiveSync alike symbol from times to times showing the synchronization.
Every time you turn off the ignition (electrical circuit) it clears all information and you´ll have to wait until it synchronizes again after you turn it on.
The only glitch it has is that sometimes (1 in 100), when they «meet», the PDA starts a call to nowhere and the only way to stop it is to reset the PDA (the pen tip in the hole).
Hope this info helps
Thomas
TOFCLOCK HIMA WM6 AKU.0.7.0
CE OS 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0)
Thanks Thomas, your advice as owner of both devices was the one I was looking for !
So, it seems I can buy the Parrot.
Thanks again !
Himalaya & Parrot Ck 3100
Hi gents :
I have both devices (Himalaya & Parrot), and almost everything is running fine.
Parrot and Himalaya synchronize automatically.
Only one thing :when conecting GPS and Parrot, if I let these devices to connect automatically, the phone sound is really bad, I have to cut down bluetooth hans free connection and retry again after few seconds.
Then, everything is OK.
Suggestions are welcome
Hi,
following ThomasScott, I have bought the CK3100. Got it today. I have tried it only few minutes but it seems to run fine. Synchro of directory is OK, and done when Parrot is on.
I will install it definitively tomorrow, and will try to connect both GPS and Parrot, to check if I have the same problem.
