where can i get fingerprint software for my ipaq?
thanks
Fingerprint software is built in to the Ipaqs that are capable of it, the 5450 for instance, I think the only application is for securing your ipaq from anybody but yourself accessing the data on the ipaq.
so
so there is no other externa software that i can install on my device?
Not that I am aware of, even if software existed you would be faced with the problem of how to scan the fingerprint usin xda hardware. I cant see the digitizer being up to the task, maybe a possibility of a serial device that would do it but nothing exists that I am aware of.

Hi to all!!!!!
finally patch are available!!!
I haven't yet tried, but tomorrow i will post my impression!
Ciao, ilVanni.
argh!!!
the patch was removed from website!!!! The support told me that are only a website test...
... it's back....
same file to download.
Specification of fix:
"i-mate™ is aware of the problems being experienced with the i-mate™ PDA2k Bluetooth. We are delivering a compete fix in two stages. The first patch increases the scan time of the i-mate™ PDA2k when searching for other nearby Bluetooth devices, thus improving other devices detectability. It should be used by customers regularly bonding with other distant devices. If the required devices are not identified after this extended period, pressing the scan again button will repeat the search. The second part of the fix will be released shortly and will improve the signal quality when using audio headsets. "
Great Thanks... I'm waiting for this patch!!!! The second one, I mean....
Now all we need is the A2DP profile supported and I will really start loving my MDAIII... I just got my B-Speech headset yesterday... didn't have much time to play with it yet though... I'd really like to get these HP bluetooth headphones too...

Yahoo!
but these 2 patches doesnt address the memory error message where the bluetooth fails to turn on... or am i missing something?
It does not address the device turning itself on all the time either. It is a joke. They are not fixing the things that are really broken.
yup i think they dont know how to fix it! ahhhhhhh refund refund! how can they even release the blueangel with such a flaw, how can their engineer miss that , did they not use their own creation for more than 15 minutes, they would hav saw the error msg
May not be IMate's fault...... of course they could have probably stuck with the lousy MS BT Stack.. might be less problems.. but anyway.. Its the OS..Remember the 32 process limitation that's still there? well. there is also a limitation on driver memroy.. I found this link that might help..
http://www.pocketfms.com/2-knownissues.htm
"The Bluetooth Radio failed to turn ON due to Insufficient driver memory available. Especially in PocketPC 2003 the Bluetooth Manager has been equipped with a lot of extra options like File Transfer, Audio Gateway and so on. If you go to Bluetooth settings and disable all services except for the Bluetooth serial port, a lot more driver memory will be available. Furthermore it's best to turn the Bluetooth radio on (and sometimes to connect to the GPS, configuration depending) prior to starting PocketFMS."
Doesn't fix the problem.. but its probably the same problem across the board for a number of devices out there..
Do a Search on Google for pocketpc "driver memory" .. you'll notice we're not alone... Then check the newsgroups.. the xda IIs has the same issue : http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...%22&hl=en&lr=&client=firefox-a&sa=N&scoring=d
"disable all services except for the Bluetooth serial port, a lot more driver memory will be available"
THAT IS NOT TRUE, I tried to disable EVERYTHING and ONLY headset profile left and it still gives the error just as often. Sucks..... SUCKS...
umm.. U DON'T HAVE TO YELL AT PEOPLE.. All I was trying to do was pass along any information that might help the situation.... Also, make note that IMate is the only device to experience these issues.. HP and Ipaqs have the same issues....
I for one have not had any major problems with the bluetooth driver(knock on wood). I turn it on and off a lot and only rarely do I see the driver memory issue. However, I do see it more often when I turn on/off the WLAN driver for wireless access. I also tend to use GPRS a lot and have not had issues with the bluetooth with GPRS. I also use a bluetooth GPS unit... I have it bonded to an Sony Bluetooth HB-35 headset as well.
lol sorry, it wasnt yelling, i was actually just making main points bold... we are all suffering from this issue it's time for them to fix it.
Complaining to Carrier Devices will help a little...but the key point here is that this goes beyond them.. I think it has more to do with Microsoft and Broadcom(they bought widcomm). Microsoft and their stupid limitations on the pocketpc operating system and Broadcom committing to enhancing their widcomm drivers so as to not use heaping loads of memory..
I agree it needs to get fixed.. however, these fixes will take time and sometimes might take months to fix as you can see from all the other issues revolving around the Ipaqs...
I've got the same problems with the T-Mobile MDAIII - not enought driver memory, turns itself on, licence has expired, rebonding. These things really should have been sorted before now, considering that for the last twelve months we've all put up with similar problems on the XDAII.
This should fix the license expiry for the Imate. I received it via email from their tech support.. according to their tech support.. you can choose any of the key addresses...They sent it to me even though I never received the license expiry issue.
As for constantly turning on.. read someone on Howardforums on a possible workaround -> http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...50658&threadid=495366&perpage=15&pagenumber=2
Firebird, forgive me if this seems stupid, but what do i do with the file you posted after unziping it? Do i run it on my pda once or what....???? have no idea... THANKS.
Don't know if it works on an XDAIII.. but copy both files to the IMate PDA2k and run the executable.. then choose any address to update it.. I just chose each and every address and updated all of them..
and this will fix the license expired error msg on the pda2k ???
That is what its supposed to do. still wont' fix the driver memory issue.... I haevn't seen the license expiry issue ever since i applied the patch..
we support a number of users with XDA2i's. Is there anyway to dial up to an XDA from a PC, in order to use active remote display with it and transfer files to correct software problems?
As far as I'm aware the answer is no. If I'm wrong no doubt someone will let you know.
Connections like the ones you're talking about generally need to be done one at a time to a PC using activesync. Generally speaking the OS isn't updatable without a re-flash of the ROM either.
SPB do a program that allows update over the air but I'm not sure exactly what this entails. Google SPB for more info.
Hope this helps some.
hallo
is it possible to let navigation software (like igo) to work directly with the gps without the program externalGPS, i know that in this case it will be possible for only one program to use gps at a time, but this is no problem for me.
dont you think that gps lags are because of this externalgps software?
can anyone tel me how to not load externalgps?
thanx
lagging is not to do with the software.
Lagging occurs in some versions of Tomtom which doesn't require externalgps, therefore i can safely say that the lagging isn't to do with the software. I heard the latest Tomtom the lagging is a lot smaller and not so noticeable anymore.
I am a Touch Pro owner but I think the gps part is quite same. I think you actually can have multiple programs accessing the built in gps. The externalgps software is maybe a useless extra by the way?
hello all.
no matter what the wifi doesn't want to come on in the comm manager. Even if it's clear storage booted. And gps as well doesn't work. what do I need to change/replace/repair?
any help appreciated
mines is doin the same exact thing but i can get wifi just no gps
You tried changing the rom or radio?
thats my next stop im shoppin for a good one now
I found quickGPS stopped working (continually failed to update and said it had never been run) after I updated the installed version of TomTom Navigator from 6 to 7 recently. In the end a hard reset and reinstall of TTN 7 fixed that. It was a simple process for me as my setup is standard other than the addition of TTN. If you want to resolve it by fiddling around with registry entries and cabs etc, then we need to know what changes were made immediately before the problems arose.
I think it may be a hardware issue more than software.
also kaiser tweak installs about 50% of the time when doing a hard reset. it can't find 1~temp file or so..
I think i'll just deal with and move to the X10/android. Windows doesn't care anymore and i'll never buy an apple product so android it is..
BTW, where can I buy a mainboard for the tytnII?

What makes you think that?

If you've got the money to splash out on a new phone then that's one option but why not save yourself some cash and try to get what you have working properly by spending as little money as possible first?

There you are keen to spend loads of money again. If it's just a mainboard that's required then you're best bet is to find a TyTN II which has failed through some cause other than the motherboard and use it for parts. By all means check prices with your HTC repair centre but it won't be cheap new.
Now, this is something I should have mentioned from the word go, in order to provide any sort of meaningful assistance, we need to know what ROM/Radio and SPL is on the device now and have any changes to these occurred? If you don't know how to find this out, check the xda-wiki for further info and may the force be with you. You mention wifi and quickGPS in the subject yet GPS (ie the navigation application itself) in the content, which is it?
I just have the ATT software that came with the tilt. I don't have a backup phone and have no experience with Romming so i've put it off. Maybe I should look into and give it a go...maybe that will fix my wifi/no quickGPS connection.
I think I do want to get the X10 because of the rez and screen and keep the Tilt as a backup.
thanks for the help.
Time to call AT&T if reading the wiki and hard resetting fails

You haven't mentioned what network you're connected through but if it's not AT&T (ie someone has unlocked the phone), then you will have some problems with the default ROM. If you do use it with AT&T then if you've already read all the relevant xda-wiki pages here related to the Tilt (it has its own page and you should definitly read it) and are still getting the problems you've described even after a hard reset (try the D Pad button method), why not see what AT&T have to say about things? I suspect a hard reset will fix it though if there have been no changes to the ROM/Radio or the SPL and you're with AT&T.
Internal GPS problems
I have also problems with the internal GPS of my TyTn II.
I changed the housing of my TyTn II because the old one was pretty trashed.
Now when I have new housing, the GPS doesn't work anymore.
Everything else is working just fine except that damn internal GPS.
I've tried three different navigation software which I have in my phone's storage card, TomTom 7, Garmin and McGuider. No hope, the GPS is not working.
McGuider can find the internal GPS automatically but none of those navigation programs are able to get GPS fix. I've tried Quick GPS and HTC GPS Tool. Nope, doesn't work...
OK, what should I try next? Hard reset? Or just accept the fact and get another TyTn II?
Well, maybe my TyTn II would still work with external GPS but I wouldn't like to a) purchase it and b) carry it with me.
Hi all
I don't know, I'm right here, but I think, I have a hardware or software problem.
I bought a 2nd hand HTC TD2 mobile phone and it's good in all things, but it's basicly job is to call other people. I can call other people, but only with headset or free speaking and not via phone at it self. Is this a hardware problem or can I repair it with a new WM image or a software reset?
As second: Can I install the new Windows Phone 7 or only WM6.5?
To eliminate the posibility of a software issue, do a hard reset.
If it still doesn't work, I have heard of people having earpiece issues that were resolved by tapping on it several times.
I do not believe WM7 will be ported to this device and the hardware requirements are inadequate to handle the OS.
