I would appreciate any help on this. Before the XDA IIi came out, I thought it was going look exactly like the XDA IIs however now that its been launched it’s the same as the XDA II, apart from the CPU, memory etc… I really like the colour & keyboard on the XDA IIs but then I like the Power & extra memory on the XDA IIi …
I am confused and do not know which XDA to buy.
What would you do in my position.
Regards
Nya
wait for mda 4
i had the same dilema and well ive gone for the xdaIIs after running se on my xdaII, i dont think gettin the IIi would feel like i had upgraded at all and i have spoken to a few people who have the IIs and it seems now its ok first batch seemed dodge.
so i ordered mine on wed will update you as to how i find it when it gets here next week 02 out of stock at the momment.
i'm about to upgrade from my XDA 2 as I want WIFi built in. I don't really want a keyboard, so I'm going for the slightly more poerful XDA2i with more menory.
take the 2i dont even think of the 2s, i just got my 2i after my 6th 2s that o2 kept changing because they are full of problems
john
Thanks guys, your opinions are much appreciated ….i’m going to wait for another 4 weeks and see what reviews the XDA IIi gets

nya

T-Mobile MDA IV alias XDA 4 :
processor XScale 520MHz,
UMTS (3G) + 4-band GSM,
VGA display (not 320x240 as before but 640x480 as in current top models of non-phone Pocket PC devices)
XDA IIs vs XDA IIi
I would like to add to this thread and state that the XDA IIs is probably the worst device I have ever owned and this includes Palms, Ipaq's and the XDA, XDA II & XDA IIs. It's totally unreliable and buggy, as I type this O2 have offered to swap the until for a XDA IIi I'll reserve judgement on that for the time being.

I've been using the Kaiser for a couple of weeks now (a test model) and it rocks!
Previously I had the Hermes, and this one is so much sleeker. Design is better. It is visibly thinner.
The only problem I have is probably with the radio. It doesnt seem to have the same signal I got with the Hermes. (In my office, I used to have 2-3 bars with Hermes. This one gives me 1-2 bars)
Other than that it's awesome!
Could you please confirm if it has 128 mb of RAM, because mostly I can read about 64MB

hey bouaroudj. ive been really excited about the kaiser's qualcomm 7200 graphics chip. ive done comparisons to it and the dell axim's intel 2700 graphics accelerator and the kaiser's is much better. anyway, on a normal 400mhz device COD2 will run just fine. so im sure it will be the same. now what we really need testing is a PS1 emulator, and Quake 3. Those things will really tell us how good the kaiser is. =)
Video on the new Kaiser
The new Kaiser is really a great deal and it's a most solid PDA I have never seen. I had seen a detail hand on video on this new kaiser at http://mymobile911.com
can you post the rom version you are using?
I tried running cod setup and on both computers it tells me try freeing up harddrive space and trying again.. anyone know whats up with that? I have mucho gig's left on both.

this phone is bull****

The EP-2501 is not released yet, but its release is scheduled for mid-June already, so we might see if it is for real or not quite soon. It's from the same company that made the watch phone seen in the second picture of zarn's link (which is a different model than the EP-2501!) - this one is already available, just like quite a lot of other models from this company, so I doubt the EP-2501 is just scam. Even though the specs indeed are quite spectacular...
I'm really curious how this Windows CE will run on the phone. The possibilities could be enormous! With an active community supporting watch phone-customized applications it could get really interesting. In general watch phones are underestimated at the moment - I had one in my hands at a czech flea market and must say it's extremely fascinating: Touchscreen, microSD-Card, camera, and now with the EP-2501 even WiFi... A isreali company is supposed to be developping a model with included GPS, too. Just imagine a future where these watch phones will support UMTS, too, and be capable of doing video calls - if something is cool then definitely doing video calls with a wrist watch phone...
My spidersense is tingling...
good watch mobile phone!!
Hi all.
what a good watch mobile phone!!!
Could be interesting, though how many people will be looking for the 'Our Man Flint' aka 'austin powers' ringtone for it?
Failing that - 'Calling **** tracey, come in **** tracey' as a ringtone..
M500 (as per screenshots) is a China based mobile..those touchscreen devices made to mimick other phones.
Theres been China based touch screen "N95's" ,etc...
If the screenshots are correct, then what you're looking at are the China based touchscreens that are NOT Windows Mobile devices...
If you talk to MSDN developers (Windows Mobile Side), theres no word about such a mobile watch setup in the loop for this year. Maybe 2009...but if it is, it would be through a big player (company/partner). I'd guess HP or HTC...but doubht it's going to be any small players with WM licensing.
As for the screenshots above M500 was launched last year and is a touch screen watch-phone. Battery charging last year was hell you had to connect some weird type of "crab like" metal connects to the battery part (bottom of the watch)...very annoying. Not sure if they updated anything more recently, but again not a "True" Windows Mobile OS.
You can get M500 or similar type of watch-phones for around 180-220$...I got mine for about 10 days (though I knew it was never windows anyhow), for around 12,000Rs (last year) but thought it was total crap --- my opinion....
Regards
I'm not sure about the watch, but here is also many chinese phones powered by Windows Mobile like this for example:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13439~r.20176719
or this touch clone:

And many others
Just spotted that T-Mobile are releasing their version of the Diamond 2 which has a redesigned case which is rounder edges and curved profile for the buttons at the bottom of the phone.

hmm.. no front LED's.. are they not on the Diamond 2?
What tmobile priceplans do you think this phone will be on?
It's ugly. I like the original more.
Dude - that is NOT T-Mobile's website, and those are NOT high-res pics of the MDA anything. They are wishful thinking - and while they are great looking renders, no one on here should believe they are anything otherwise.

A case of Humble Pie me thinks!!
I stand corrected.
Phoned yesterday to T-Mobile Germany. Release should "KW 21".
Costs should be around ~150EUR with "Max Relax M Friends".
Just some infos from the guy on Hotline, nothing official.
Got mine today in the Netherlands.
Pictures are correct.
Coming from a HTC P3300 (Artemis) it is a lot faster
And the place for the micro-sd card is a lot better. Don't have to remove the battery and SIM anymore

I've got mine now for 2 weeks already and I must say: "Perfect Phone"
Only major differance is the T-Mobile TF3D home screen.
From the outside I think the T-Mobile version is way better than the standard HTC version. But hey, everybody has a differant tast, luckelly
Got my MDA compact V (NLD) yesterday.
Really disliked the logo beneath the screen, so I removed the plastic part, sanded the clearcoat and logo from the part (900 grain sandpaper) and airbrushed it again with clearcoat, much better!
(BTW there are 2 screws beneath the logo-part in case you want to dismantle yours, the logo-part is only stuck with double sided tape).
Also the T-Mobile branded ROM is quite ugly, luckily I could use a goldcard* to flash it to 1.40.707.1 WWE, much and much better!!
No more pink splash-screens, and no skinny click.
(*goldcard was generated with QMAT)
Just got a call from T-Mobile UK asking me to upgrade - basically wanting to keep my custom. They offered me a new phone or a tariff reduction by £15.
I enquired about the MDA Compact V and they said it had just come in last night but they only had 100 and all of those had sold out already. They are getting another shipment tomorrow so I should have it by Saturday or Monday.
I am hanging on to my 12 month contract for dear life. A new phone every 12 months for free on a £35 contract. Not to shabby I guess. Hopefully my next upgrade should coincide with tegra/snapdragon phones with windows mobile 7. Please MS don't delay any further.
I almost soiled my underoos when I saw this phone. Looks a lot nicer than the original htc version. too bad for the t-mobile logo splattered on it.
Hello,
I got the T-Mobile MDA Compact V (Dutch) for a week now. Can anybody tell me how to activate the Transcriber-software?
Or do I have to do edit the registry for this to show this option?

I'm afraid we don't have access to this software yet - we have to wait until someone who is able to port the software gets an Omnia II into his hands...
Wow if this is possible the "cube" interface would look great on HD but Omnia II has 800mhz processor so "lag" issues are going to pop up eventually . On the other side it's winmo 6.1 so porting it would be easier but that's for the people with knowledge abot these things.Anyway it's not a bad idea two tumbs up for it .

the processor is not a big issue i heard that the extra rams in hd [288 instead of 256 is to support graphics acceleration memory and enhance the processor so i think that htc hd will run the omnia ii interface smoothly gsm arena said that 64mb of the ram is used to enhance graphics acceleration and speed

Wow...i can just imagine how touch flo 3d would run on this thing...
Samsung just announced the Galaxy S5 Plus. Bummer I just bought my S5 about 2 months ago.. and literally just bought a Nexus 5 to play around with from the Play Store..
Features a 2.5Ghz Snapdragon 805 (underclocked from 2.7GHz found in Note 4)
Significantly faster memory bandwidth
Upgraded GPU (presumably a Adreno 420)
Faster LTE (advance 300Mbps).
Anyone here tempted to upgrade? Im wondering what the overall performance is like compares to S5 and Note 4.
http://www.neowin.net/news/samsung-reveals-the-galaxy-s5-plus-the-worlds-fastest-android-smartphone
Don't c a need to upgrade any further unless they improve the display and add more ram...And stop with all the dang lockdown on their phones ...if it wasn't for HTC so called ultra pixel camera I would jump to them ..
Do not buy plus phones, they will not be prioritized. Look at the s4 plus and its update history.
