Problem on update Xda_IIs_v131139 and cannot restore. - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Just trying to update my IIs to the lastest ROM. I did backup to SD before update. During updating the process seem very fast for me. Then after update finish my IIs still stuck in BOOTLOADER screen... soft&hard reset cannot help. So, I decide to restore with the backup file in SD. I insert my SD and press Power+Notes+Reset to enter BOOTLOADER again... After waiting for a while... screen show 'Not Allow Update'
Now, I can't update and I can't restore to previous rOM.
How can I do?

take out the battery, put it back in and run the update again.
Now I did understand that you are using a 02 rom on a o2 devce and that this device is a xdaIIs, and that you are using the ship.exe file as is.

>take out the battery, put it back in and run the update again.
Already done but didn't work still stuck in bootloader screen.

That's correct.

Well you will have to drain the backup battery.
Take the battery out, lock the battery lock in the closed postion run off the backup battery.
There was some key combination that got you in and out of bootloader I am not sure if it was the same as the one you mentioned in your first post.

I did seperate body and battery for more than 5 hrs. After put it back and turn on, the BOOTLOADER appear again.

The keys should be the same.
Any suggestions?

Sorry no more,
(You sure you drained the backup with the bartery lock in the locked postion?)

Thank you very much for your help.

Bricked Qtek 9100??

I tried to flash my Qtek 9100 to WM6 using the flashing tutorial on this site.
I followed the steps in the tutorial. I downgraded to Buttons ROM, unlocked the CID, and then I flashed the 3.08 IPL/SPL in stead of the T-Mobile 2.26.
Then I tried to use farias kitchen to make a WM6 and flashed it to the phone.
Everything seemed to go smoothly, but when I tried to start the phone after flashing the 3.08 and farias' to the phone, the phone just hangs at the startup screen with the picture of the beer glass and the coloseum.
I've tried to downgrade to Buttons firmware and I've also tried the Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM, but it doesn't help. I'm still stuck at the welcome screen.
Is there anything I can do, or have I bricked my phone for good?
flash an original qtek rom to your phone then try to flash the rom again
Your phone isnt bricked (yet)
I've done that, but it doesn't help. Still just hangs at the SPL/IPL screen.
Solution (worked for me)
I found a solution while looking trough the forum
I was facing the same problem on a G3 phone
this is copied from that link except the link to MTTY.exe is different (previous one doesn't work
See (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307332)
1- I tought that a SD backup was needed, and yes it is. But u can use your own phone and your own SD to do it.
2- Get a clean SD card (in qtek 9100 / Htc Wizard case is MiniSD) with 128MB (some people say 64MB, but I personally used a 128MB, maybe a 64MB is enough)
3- Kill (task manager) wescomm.exe (this is related with activesync installed on your PC). Insert the blank SD card on the phone.
4- Get your phone in bootloader mode. Like this : Phone powered off, press Camera button + Power On, will enter in bootloader mode (RGB screen).
5- Now connect your USB cable to your phone. And start MTTY.exe ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=231190 ). After open, on Port selection, choose USB and press OK. A window will open with a blank sheet.
6- Type "r2sd all" and hit enter... wait to the end (at end shows "cmd>"). On your phone screen u can follow backup progress... small bar will appear down the RGB screen.
7- Power off the phone (or remove battery), enter bootloader mode (camera button + power on) and this time RGB won´t appear right away. Will ask if u want to "download SD image", press voice dial button to agree, and writting will begin. Wait to the end. Power off and power on normally. Now your phone should be working ok. Not even needed to reflash the phone after this.
I hope this helps you out
It worked for me (and other people if you look at the forums)
That solution was already known and was, in fact, discovered for the Wizard by a guy called 'Drugstore'
But what really matters is that this procedure only works if the device is already CID unlocked.
cheers
MDA Vario freezes at 2nd boot screen
I have the same problem. I flashed wm6.1 according to tutorial on this side. everything worked fine, until the time I uninstalled some application. after that my Vario froze. after soft reset it stopped on second screen (the one with info), and so it is anytime I try to reflash to other ROM. everything works fine until the time it shoud reboot.
I found this thread and tried the thing with backup image. everything worked, copying image to the phone ended with success. so I turned off the phone and started it again. but now, after all, I'm just back at the beginning
can somebody help me out with another solution??? pls.....
Try mtty

I didn't have chance to try this.... My Vario is already dead... Probably is my fault... As far, I wasn't able to flash to official T-mobile ROM, I did a backup copy to a SD card on my friends phone, and then tried to copy the image into mine... I'm afraid I destoyed bootloader this way After I turned off my phone first time after flashing, it didn't start again.... It doesn't react even to wall charger... Nothing... Just dead Vario

There is a post that suggest that somebody revives his batt with a wall charger, maybe is your batt... is dead... or your s is bricked.

OTA update did this to me..

Carrier: Telkomsel
Country / Language: Indonesia / English
OS / Browser / build number (if applicable): 2.1 / .... / ERD79
Could be because of overheating, mine totally not working anymore :
1. Vibrate
2. Microphone
3. Misplaced button : Home > Back and Back > Home. (when I pressed back, it goes to home and the other way).
4. MicroSD slot
5. SIM card reads very low signal
All of these because the OTA update I received and installed.. It was ok at the beginning and then it starting to acting up, at first : hang occasionally, have to take out battery and rebooted, but then it gets worse: won't boot at all.. sometimes it just stuck on the boot logo, have to take out battery again.... and the other day it just doesn't boot, I even tried to go to bootloader / recovery, but the phone just doesn't seem to respond.
I thought could be the battery, so I charge overnight and in the morning it was hot (not warm).. but able to boot to bootloader only.
After a lot of reading and possible cause, I made decision to revert back before the OTA update (ERE27), so I downloaded all the necessary files from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614850, and successfully went back to the original state (I even downgrade the radio to the oldest/default one (ERD79)).
And SUCCESS!! my N1 boot normally and I did all the usual settings, including the wifi and network.. then it started to update again... *sigh. And I'm back to square one again.. so I did everything again.. and now I disable network and wifi, because I am affraid if it found a internet connection it will download the OTA update again and will update.
Unfortunately, to do all that I unlocked the bootloader, therefore void my warranty.. I didn't care as long as I got my N1 working again.. but after all the works I did, it's pretty much useless now.
It seems that all the problem is at the bottom part of N1..
Anybody else have this problem? or am I the unlucky one..
I tried to using CM files, but since the SD doesn't get recognise I could not..
You're saying that even after reverting to ERE27, your SD card isn't accessible from Recovery? Your problem is very odd... but flashing to another ROM should solve the problem of the OTA updates redownloading everything.
You're saying that even after reverting to ERE27 > I went back from ERE27 to ERD79.
I can only flashing .img from fastboot, that is the only access I can get to my N1..
I cannot go to recovery using amon-ra, i flashed the recovery ok, but everytime I put into recovery it just loads the X boot logo and does nothing else, but when i connect usb, it ask for a qualcomm cdma driver, I don't know what kind of driver that is and I don't see my N1 doing anything.
so I cannot load another rom, because I only know that cooked rom are stored in the SD card, and my N1 cannot read microSD card.
here is some video I took : sorry, low quality http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bv7P5lz9bVY

Energy Rom Problem

For the past few months I've been flashing separate Energy Roms onto my tilt 2. I finally found one that I liked and stuck with it for the past few weeks, which was the Dinik Glass Energy rom.
Everything was running great until last night when I was watching a video on You tube and everything froze up. I pulled the battery out and turned the phone back on and now it keeps going to the boot loader screen....
I've tried re flashing different roms to see if that would work but I've gotten nothing out of it.
If anyone could let me know of anything that i could possibly do to try and fix this I would be highly appreciative of it.
I dont know what may have caused the problem but in your situation i would have tried to do task29, flash radio and then flash a new ROM. this is normally how i flash my roms but task29 may remove somethin that may be causing the problem. if you have already done so, sorry for wasting 5 secs of your life ... let me know if it worked
Can you show me where I can dl task 29 at?
I had the same thing happen to my tilt2 last week!
Use task 29,
dont freak out when it only shows the screen that says touch pro 2.
Enter into bootloader and run ruu from there, it will fix everything.
Dont flash with sd card in or it will happen again.
I had to clear my sd card and reload it! good luck.
one more thing after task 29 do not disconnect from usb until you load next rom, that is what worked for me best.
hope it helps
I used the RUU and i tried reloading the ROM but it still starts in boot loader screen every time.
Should I just hit the hard reset?
you have nothing to loose by a hard reset at this point ... IF that works.
If I hard reset it will I have to flash a hard spl again?
Ok i noticed that yoy are pritty confused about the terminolog, so here is some help:
1. Task 29 - delets your rom of the phone so your phone become practicly unuseble.
2. HardSpl - "Unocks" (allowes) the phone for flashing custom made roms - i.e. all roms and ro preform Task 29.
3. Hard rest - reinstalls allready flashed rom.
4. Soft reset restart the phone - on/of
5. BOOTLOADER - allowes you to flash without activesync and from Sd card.
When any problem turns on with phene i usually check to see if there is any connection running. I discovered that too much internet over phone makes a phone buggy dissregarding the rom.
You dont have to hardspl phone again, once you did is enough.
Okay well here is the problem then... every time I turn the phone on it goes straight to bootloader. The only button I press to turn the phone on is the main power button. I've ran the custom RUU twice now. I've tried flashing a new rom onto the phone via sd card but it still turns on in bootloader mode. I'm nearly freaking out now because I'm led to believe I've got a bricked piece of $hit.
I hate sounding like a noob but if there is some way someone could run a step by step process to me that works I might through some $$ via pay pal.

I had the same problem with a phone about a month ago. I was able to flash the stock rom and it would boot up then put on the stock SPL and relock the phone. Sometimes I was able to take the battery out and get it to boot but even with the stock ROM I was getting the bootloader at startup. So once I reloaded the stock ROM and relocked it, I returned it and got a replacement.
Sorry, nothing I did every resolved the problem.
good luck.
I agree with taking everything back to stock
flash stock rom
do a spl relock
and start over...
oh, and dont forget about radios! idk if that could be part of the problem tho
I never changed the radio's so I should be good to go then, just the stock rom?
Try this :
- Enter bootloader
- Connect USB cable so "serial" in the bootloader changed to "USB"
- Perform Task29
- Reset
- If the phone enters bootloader skip this step. If not, hold volume down key while resetting (push the reset switch with stylus). The phone will enter bootloader.
- Flash a stock ROM. Download it from HTC website if you don't have one.
- Reboot.
Ow, the stock ROM also contains Radio. So Flashing with stock ROM will flash your radio also.

When you returned your phone and got a replacement was your phone starting in boot loader?
If so how did the workers at the ATT store react to that so I know what to expect?

How would you recommend that I flash the stock ROM back on?
I'm kind of confused because I've always flashed with my SD card, how do I do it through my USB? Could you give me a step by step?
Well, those steps I wrote are basically "step-by-step how to flash from usb".
Allow me to clear it:
- Enter bootloader -> Hold volume down button while pushing the reset switch
- Connect USB cable to your computer. and wait until the "serial" word in the bootloader changed to "USB"
- Perform Task29, download task29 and unzip it. run ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Follow the instruction.
- Reset/reboot. well, the phone will reboot itself after task29 is completed
- If the phone enters bootloader skip this step. If not, hold volume down key while resetting (push the reset switch with stylus). The phone will enter bootloader. Connect the usb cable again to your computer (if you disconnect it.) and wait until the word "serial" changed to "usb" again.
- Flash a stock ROM. Download it from HTC website if you don't have one. Just run the exe file you downloaded and follow the wizard.
- Reboot.
I reccomend you to flash with stock ROM because Stock ROMs are "Guaranteed to work(at least by HTC )" and contains radio that may be the cause of your problem. there's no need to flash to stock SPL, yet.
I was stuck in bootloader...
You can find task 29 here. I always do this before flashing.
After task 29, make sure USB is still plugged in and enter bootloader by holding Volume Down key while hitting the reset button. You should see USB on the bottom of the bootloader screen.
Now you should be able to flash the NRG ROM by running the RUU in the same folder as your ROM (rhodium.nbh file).
If this doesn't help, search the entire forum for "stuck in bootloader." I did this and it saved me the hassle of the warranty process.

I was able to get it to boot to the ROM by removing the battery several times and reinserting, powering on until it boot. I am on TMobile and called them and they sent me a new phone and returned the old through the mail after expalining the problem. So never went into the store.
good luck.

Note stuck in OTA mode - Upgrading from 4.0.4 to JB

Hello everyone,
I seem to have a problem upgrading my GT-N7000 to JB, the phone downloaded a 494MB update, and restarted to FOTA mode.
The progress bar went from 0-100% in about 15-20mins, but the phone has since then not completed the FOTA.
If I restart the phone by long-pressing power key, the FOTA restarts, but again gets stuck at the 100% mark. Pressing Vol Keys and powering on makes no difference.
Further the phone isn't recognised in Windows - says 'Device Malfunction'. The cable is fine, as it works with another phone.
My bad luck it was, the phone data isn't backed up - I never expected anything to go wrong. Is there a remote possibility of data recovery before I wipe the phone?
Now, how do I get back access to my phone, and how do I complete the upgrade, or reset the phone? I would be grateful if you help me or guide me how to proceed. Taking it to the service point would be the last resort, I want to try out everything I can before I send this in - it's out of warranty.
Regards
Abhishek

Dont worry. In general your personnel data are stored in internal SD and external SD, not disturbed by a system install process.
In that situation you'd better to install a new JB4.1.2 ROM using Odin in download mode.
Firstly see what ROM to be flashed. Official stock ROM, custom ROM, download it.
Read how to use Odin in download mode by connection USB PC-phone.
Odin is utility under PC. Download mode on the phone is entered after hold in the same time volume-down, home and power.

Weir flash / memory problem on my m8

I just got and m8 from Cl, it was cheap and I was told the phone had a software issues so I took the plunge.
The phone seems normal, its pack o apps and you can play with it, then I decided to do a factory restore, but it failed (after the reboot it goes to a error screen showing a phone with and exclamation mark)
I tried the same from hboot, same result..
Tried to unlock bootloader, it appears to work but after boot the phone I still the same (loked and with all the user info intact )
Tried to erase the user accounts, it works, I can do a new setup of the Google account, but after restart the phone goes back to the initial state (user accounts are back)
I am not sure what's going on, but it looks like if the memory was protected and after every reboot it goes back to the original state.
Any suggestions of what to do? I am starting to see of there is any way to get warranty thru htc,
Thanks in advance.
The phone is in 4.4.2, can't take updated (it reboots itself on the process)
The phone with the exclamation point indicates the stock Android system recovery is installed. You could try and install TWRP recovery, at which time you could install a custom ROM. My only other thought is to run the RUU for the latest system update. If that doesn't straighten out your issues, something else is going on. Hit the link below and follow the instructions for the manual system update. This is the non-HK RUU. If you need the RUU for the HK version I can post it, also.
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8-sprint/news/
Thanks, I tried to install twrp but it fails, the bootloader is still locked and won't unlock, is there a way to install twrp without unlocking bootloader?
Will give it a try with the RUU, when tried to update thru fastboot it fails, it starts to do all the file checks and it just send you to the "press the power button message" , but no update was perform.
You might give this a try to get your bootloader unlocked and TWRP installed. There is no way around it. You have to unlock the bootloader first before you install TWRP.

Thanks a lot for the help, nothing has work so far, the phone keeps having random reboots and every time it comes back its like it load an old backup, havent been able to do a firmwware upgrade (from android over wifi, fastboot, or windowsPC).
Is there an utility to test hardware? (possibly memory)
thanks
At the end I contacted HTC support and after some test I was told my phone was still under warranty and I got and RMA (great service)....
Thanks a lot for the help...
