Seems to have appeared as the FINAL offical release from t-mobile for uk users.
I've not tried it yet but the number does seem to suggest it is a slightly lower version than the Dutch one
EDIT MDAIIIUser
Added to wiki
no surprises
build of 2003se identical to Dutch rom previously released:
version 4.21.1088 (build 15159.2.6.4)
Extended rom just hasth changed regional settings (english UK default)

Still a lot of echo.
Can't pair my Motorola HS820, BA sees the HS820, but error on connecting.
Anyone a fix for the echo and for the BT problem?
Use 1.40 before, was less a problem compaired to 1.42
Please help.

Report Back - T-Mobile Rom.. One week or so on..
Hi All,
Wanted to feedback my impressions of the new 1.42 T-Mobile UK Spec Rom..
Well, it's been interesting.. I now have (or have had) most of the faults that everyone else is experiencing.. I never used to get them at all with the i-mate 1.40 Rom or the NL 1.42 T-Mobile Rom.. I have listed the bugs below..
1 - One Hard-reset when inserted into GPS Car holder
2 - Several occasions where I've "lost" the Storage Card (when serching for it on the device AND through Active Sync)
3 - Interesting situation where I've started TomTom5 and I've suddenly had to go through the set-up process again only to be told that there's no maps (Can only attribute this to an occasion where the Storage Card is not seen by the PPC - See above).. Solved by remove Programs, soft-reset then re-install off SD Card.. (quite annoying as I was lost at the time!)
4 - Occasional failure for BT Headset being recognised on an in-coming call (I use the Logi-Tech Pro).. Solved by Soft-reset..
5 - Sometimes, after soft-reset, get a low performance from the Device.. ie, after soft-reset and switching to phone where it takes a few seconds to "build" the phone screen..
Strange but as I mentioned above, I don't recall getting these bugs on the 1.42 NL Rom or the i-mate 1.40 Rom.. I might try a hard re-set on Monday then re-install my tomTom, etc to see if it carries on.. If it does, I MIGHT switch back to the either
That's it really.. I have had the early T-Mobile 1.06, the i-mate 1.40, T-Mobile NL 1.42 and T-Mobile GB 1.42 and finally the WM5 Roms and from what I've seen, I place them in this order of preference..
1 - i-Mate 1.40
2 - T-Mobile NL 1.42
3 - T-Mobile GB 1.42
4 - WM5
5 - T-Mobile GB 1.06

Hi Max,
The Rom is exactly the same and the only difference is the changes in the extROM that makes it either UK or NL Spec (ie, MMS settings, etc)
Hi Starfish - Perhaps you need to look at this for the answers to your other questions:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BlueAngel_For_Beginners
Oh, and BA is "Blue Angel" and MA is the "Magician" HTC Names for the devices..
Sorry I did'nt read close enough Magican vs Blue angel

Now, I'm not too sure how far advanced you are in Upgrading, etc but before you do, please remember the following that I put on another post on here..
MrPhilly said:
General Tips to you (and others)..
If you do want to update or upgrade then make sure you read everything through first.. Make sure you're happy in doing it.. Perhaps use the search function to read through others comments.. I would also recommend reading others comments about trying to downgrade from WM5 to WM2003SE to see what others have encountered
You will not believe the amount of people who end up posting questions when they've not followed the instructions from Wiki that I've pasted for you here..
Finally, if you are stuck, use the search command and describe your problem in the Keywords section, select Blue Angel from the Category and read through the posts relating to it before posting questions..
Hope this helps..?
Cheers!

How can I upgrade to a stable rom
I have tried the TMobile NL and UK version both give the Country ID eror with the extra numbers 17-17-38-38-38
How can I safely upgrade to the 1.42 version (I have read the Getting Started With The Blue Angel) .
Is that the way to go?
"I get the password error on the xda3nbftool for the nbf segment"
I would like to get rid of all the phonesound failure and systemhangs with TomTom5.10
My Qtek9090

DANGA001
1.40.00 0 0
1.40.556
1.13.00 13.00
Upgraded to this from the last O2 update (my BA is an O2 Xda IIs), and while for the most part it works fine, now if the device turns the screen off for power-save while out and about, the GPRS connection drops. I know the hardware is capable of keeping the GPRS connection alive in such a situation because, well, it didn't drop it under the previous two O2 ROMs I ran.
Anyone else had this problem, or know a fix? Hopefully it's something simple that I've overlooked...
I'm getting better Bluetooth support with this (whether through actual improvements in the stack or through sheer dumb luck), so I'd prefer not to downgrade if I can avoid it.
Upgrade for NON OEM/Carrier Blue Angel
I have an unlocked OEM i-mate PDA2K. Because of this I am unable to install the T-Mobile upgrade to 1.42.
Is there a way to get around this?
I tried using the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, but I was unsuccessful.
Any ideas on how to upgrade a non-T-mobile branded blue angel?
Thanks
problems upgrading a non-t-mobile branded PD2K
BELOW IS THE SCREENSHOT OF THE ERROR
Did you make sure you had the MAUpdate file in the same directory as the actual upgrade had been uncompressed into? Since it's missing the RUU.DLL file that is part of that package.
Basically, get the files out of the real upgrade, then copy the MAUpdate into that directory, then run it instead.
I can not unzip or unpackaged the shipped OS
When I double click on the file, it runs the file, when you right-click and select extract, it gives you an error.
How do you unpackage the ship package?
Me, I used WinZip, I think it was.
Can not unrar or unzip setup files from exe package
the instructions states:
Unrar or unzip all files in exe or rar into a new folder. I get an error when I do that.
I also noticed that the instructions states:
First Method (Quick/Easy) (TYPE II), but there is another method Second Method (Slower/Harder) (TYPE I)
I am going to give that a try
O2 XDA IIs
Hi from Greece,
A friend bring me to Greece from Singapore one O2 XDA IIs but it has a old versions:

sorry but I'm newbie here, can you tell me what (and where can i find) I must download in order to update to the latest versions.
I allready download the latest version from O2.UK for O2-XDA IIS but I do not want to lock my device to any network and that's the reason who asked you and I do not install this I allready download.
I allready see http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Upgrades but I don t now what I must download.

Hello all.
I just found this place and it's great!
I am in the USA and I have a Siemens SX66 with Cingular, running the default ROMS.
I've read there has been issues with with WM5 and others seem to not have any trouble.
What ROMs should I upgrade to?
From links here I also found: http://sx66-blueangel.home.comcast.net/
Are system ROM 1.40.00 and Radio ROM 1.13.00 my best options?
Thanks again, this is really a great site!
I personally would suggest applying the standard and extended ROM's from Chris' SX66 (Blue Angel) Standardization Project which you referenced, then upgrading the radio to 1.15. WM5 is cewl looking and the persistent storage can be a life saver. I go back and forth, probably more than 30 times, hoping that one day the speed and reliability will come through. Being a corporate geek / consultant that hates crackberries I dream of true push mail. However I'm so dependant on Microsoft Voice and my BT that I keep going back to WM 2003, Chris' ROM's being the best.
Best of luck to you in whichever way you go.
btw, Cingular is releasing the 8125 this month! YIPPEE !!!
(guess the wife will get my BA has a hand me down... )
Steven
SX66 (PH20B1) [Cingular]
ROM: 1.40.00 WWE
ROM date: 03/10/05
Ext ROM: 1.40.125 WME
Radio: 1.15.00
I recently upgraded to 1.42 with my own Extended Rom. Since then (probably two weeks ago), I haven't had to reset my phone for one-way sound, wifi not wanting to turn on, bluetooth insufficient driver memory or any of the other minor problems that forced me to reset my phone at least every other day with the 1.40 rom.
If you are going to try the upgrade, copy this extended rom to your device, then use the BA_TMNL_14200_115_11300_ship upgrade (delete all nbf files except nk.nbf). I was able to use the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe file to load this rom. I think I had to run it twice (first time it puts the device in bootloader mode but gives error, leave it in the bootloader mode and run it again.)
BTW, I had already upgraded to radio 1.15, so you might want to do that first.
Hmmm. FTP not working for me from work, I'll upload the ExtRom tonight and update this post.
hi guys
i bought an MDA vario from t-mobile and unlocked the sim card
i'm looking for rom update and need your assistance

- can i flash it with i-mate k-jam update? as i understood from some threads in the forum that u have to unlock the rom too ?
- how can i hard -reset the MDA?
- IN CASE I FAILED , WHERE CAN I FIND THE ORIGINAL T-MOBILE ROM?
detials
ROM VERSION 1.6.2.4 WWE
ROM DATE 11/15/05
RADIO VERSION 01.12.10
PROTOCOL VERSION 4.0.13.23
EXTROM VERSION 1.6.2.105
i hope it is not that difficult
sorry
i thought this place is supposed to help
my mistake
I think there is only one t-mobile update (I guess this could be country specific - I am refering to the UK).
You can access the latest t-mobile rom from:
http://t-mobile.iris-global.com/download_manager_mda_vario.html
This doesn't include push email though.
Last week I updated by vario with the QTEK 9100 rom and have been very happy with it. The direct push works well after I changed a few regsitry settings to sort out the interval on the heart beat. The device is now quicker and I haven't noticed the random reboots so far.
I did lose the ability to set the soft keys so had to edit the registry.
You will probably need to CID? unlock your phone so you can flash it with a ROM from another manufacturer (the free Lokiwiz thing worked perfectly for me) - I believe this is different from just SIM unlocking your phone.
I wouldn't bother upgrading unless you need the push email since the reinstallation and configuration took me the best part of day (GPRS settings were a pain).
I would guess you post wasn't answered since this questions comes up a lot you need to search through the previous posts as it has all been discussed before -except of course the personal choice of whether to actually upgrade
hello
very nice with a wealth of information.
i wanted to upgrade the roms and unlock my siemens sx66.
before i do it, i want to verify the manner in which it is done. from my readings it appears that i update the roms and then after they are all done then i unlock the phone.
i plan to backup the phone before all is done.
one of my main questions is that my wife also has one of the sx66s and we share contacts and the calender. we do this via active sync. will there be any issue with my phone having a different rom than hers with the syncing?
also, once all the roms are update, would i just restore from a backup or do i just place items back in.
i was planning on using the stable roms from the SX66 (Blue Angel) Standardization Project
thanks in advance for your assistance
bob
read wiki for the blueangel
thanks, will do
ok, i read the info provided and also found the sx66 standardization project webpage. that site is very dedicated to the sx66 that cingular wireless put out, which what i have.
the site gives good directions, but i have one issue. it says that you need to have all the same revisions for the main and extended rom. how exactly do i do that? do i just do the main and radio rom upgrade first, then the extended rom? i just don't want to mess up the phone by not doing something correctly.
thanks in advance,
bob
afaik you flash them all at the same time, but what it means is dont flash an extended rom for one ROM version also with with a different ROM version
got it done
followed the instructions on the sx66 standardization project -
unhid the extended_rom folder using the correct too then did a soft reboot
then put the 1.44.xx ext rom into the correct folder, after that ran baupdater with the 1.44.xx main rom and 1.15.xx radio rom. after all was done i did a hard reset and everything installed excellent
How is it Working?
Bob332, is your SX66 functioning OK, not problems? How is your BT, more stable, pairing ok? How did you know what upgrade to use as I am not finding a match for the Siemens model?

it is running nicely. as far as bt, i don't use it reguarily, but with the headset i have it works nicely - jabra bt800. i can say that it appears to run as good if not better than my wife's which is not modded at all. i get a good signal and it is just as stable as my wife's. i feel the newer roms have better wifi control and there are some additional features with them. i used the roms off of the sx66 standarization project webpage.
Bob, as the instructions seemed very clear I went for it. My device settings now read: ROM 1.42.00, Ext ROM 1.20.115, Radio 1.02.10 and
BT Stack 3900. Protocol 1337.35.
What did I do wrong? More importantly how can I get my settings to match yours – 1.42.126 & 1.15? When I attempt to load the Radio I get this error using BAUpgrade tool? Where do I go from here?
Which upgrade tool do I use for the Radio?

read everything i have put up and d/l the appropriate files before going farther, then follow the 1, 2, 3 method at the end
here is the page - http://sx66-blueangel.home.comcast.net/SystemRadio.htm
use the blue angel flash rom tool aka - baupdate.exe and make sure both the system and radio roms are in the same folder as the the updater tool. during the upgrade, actually before it starts, it should tell you what versions you are upgrading to. also, this information and these roms are for a cingular branded sx66.
system and radio roms - system - 1.40.00 (source is dutch) and radio - 1.15 UK
unhide the extended_rom folder using the correct tool from this page - http://sx66-blueangel.home.comcast.net/Extended.htm (latest ext rom tools) and also read the pdf documentation located here - http://relaysgoldens.com/sx66/ext_roms/Extended_ROM_Installation_Instructions.pdf
then did a soft reboot
d/l the newest "pre-cooked" ext rom - 1.40.125
1. put the 1.44.xx ext rom into the correct folder after you unhid it on the sx66
2. run baupdater with the 1.44.xx main rom and 1.15.xx radio rom.
3. do a hard reset and the info from the new ext rom will be installed
this should get you set up
There is quite a bit of info on this site, and for that i am grateful. However, it is soo confusing, I am tempted to just put my sim card back in my Moto Razr.
I have a Qtek 9100 with the following:
MODEL NUMBER WIZA200? (assuming they mean the phone is a wizard)
IPL 2.12.0001
SPL 2.12.0001
ROM 2.17.7.2 WWE
ROM DATE 2-10-06
RADIO VER 02.07.10
PROTOCOL 413.1.03
EXT ROM 2.17.7.102
I am using Dobson Cellular, AKA Cellular One. ( typical GSM, cingular uses cellone towers here )
I have tried so many things and seem to get nowhere. here is the list of things i have tried in the order of attempt.
Resco registry editor to add the tornado A2DP cab addition with an error message.
Tried to update the rom to the "RUU_Prodigy_2080701_101_11310_Qtek_WWE_Test "
and got an error stating " Please update your NBF file" or something along those lines
Then tried to update to the "Cingular_RUU_WIZARD_217_AKU2_WWE_CF2_A2DP-fixed" rom
and recieved the error message " error 300 invalid update tool "
lokiwiz unlock for CID and SIM
with no action on my computer or the 9100 (yes i followed the instructions)
Downgrade to the "CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE" rom
with the same " error 300...."
Thats where I stand. At this point, Im at a loss for ideas. I keep searching xda.dev... for more options, but it seems the search brings up the same result everytime no matter my query.
What do I need to do to get my HT820 headphones to work?? There is no stereo headphone option on my bluetooth settings list for the HT820, just headset and handsfree. Windows Media Player plays out of the speakers on the phone itself.
Please do not refer me to other topics as I have seen every reg edit code my brain can handle. I'm not a super lamer, however, im not familiar with manual reg edits.
The first person to fix this ill send $50 via paypal.
Thanks for the help.

If you just need to get A2DP working, use the A2DP cab file, but you don't install it with a registry editor. You simply copy the cab file over to your device and then click it to execute it. It will install itself.
I'm not familiar with your carrier, and I've not seen any ROMs with customizations specific to them, so you're probably better off sticking with the ROM you have. It is an AKU 2 ROM, which has push (used with an Exchange server) and is certainly better than any 1.X series ROMs.
Just for the sake of completeness, I should clarify that after you copy the cab file over to the device, you use the file manager on the device to locate the file and then click it to execute it on the device.
If it gives you a notice about installing untrusted files, choose to install anyway.
Summiter thanks for the replies.
I thought I would be over looking something.
Where would you like the $50 sent to?
I'd probably pay $50 bucks to NOT see someone do the macarena! Oh the memories ... the pain ...
