There is quite a bit of info on this site, and for that i am grateful. However, it is soo confusing, I am tempted to just put my sim card back in my Moto Razr.
I have a Qtek 9100 with the following:
MODEL NUMBER WIZA200? (assuming they mean the phone is a wizard)
IPL 2.12.0001
SPL 2.12.0001
ROM 2.17.7.2 WWE
ROM DATE 2-10-06
RADIO VER 02.07.10
PROTOCOL 413.1.03
EXT ROM 2.17.7.102
I am using Dobson Cellular, AKA Cellular One. ( typical GSM, cingular uses cellone towers here )
I have tried so many things and seem to get nowhere. here is the list of things i have tried in the order of attempt.
Resco registry editor to add the tornado A2DP cab addition with an error message.
Tried to update the rom to the "RUU_Prodigy_2080701_101_11310_Qtek_WWE_Test "
and got an error stating " Please update your NBF file" or something along those lines
Then tried to update to the "Cingular_RUU_WIZARD_217_AKU2_WWE_CF2_A2DP-fixed" rom
and recieved the error message " error 300 invalid update tool "
lokiwiz unlock for CID and SIM
with no action on my computer or the 9100 (yes i followed the instructions)
Downgrade to the "CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE" rom
with the same " error 300...."
Thats where I stand. At this point, Im at a loss for ideas. I keep searching xda.dev... for more options, but it seems the search brings up the same result everytime no matter my query.
What do I need to do to get my HT820 headphones to work?? There is no stereo headphone option on my bluetooth settings list for the HT820, just headset and handsfree. Windows Media Player plays out of the speakers on the phone itself.
Please do not refer me to other topics as I have seen every reg edit code my brain can handle. I'm not a super lamer, however, im not familiar with manual reg edits.
The first person to fix this ill send $50 via paypal.
Thanks for the help.

If you just need to get A2DP working, use the A2DP cab file, but you don't install it with a registry editor. You simply copy the cab file over to your device and then click it to execute it. It will install itself.
I'm not familiar with your carrier, and I've not seen any ROMs with customizations specific to them, so you're probably better off sticking with the ROM you have. It is an AKU 2 ROM, which has push (used with an Exchange server) and is certainly better than any 1.X series ROMs.
Just for the sake of completeness, I should clarify that after you copy the cab file over to the device, you use the file manager on the device to locate the file and then click it to execute it on the device.
If it gives you a notice about installing untrusted files, choose to install anyway.
Summiter thanks for the replies.

Which file is corrupt?
I downloaded it from here:
http://www.telecom.co.nz/content/0,3900,202143-203139,00.html
Then I had to do a couple of modifications to get it to flash using the magician patched flasher.
However, although it worked correctly with the Sprint EV-DO PRL for voice calls, the data connection was hosed.
It has some sort of special Kiwi customization in it . The #777 connection ends up with a password, even if I try to set it up from scratch (without running anything from extrom!). I remove the password and save the changes and then it comes back... it's obviously embedded in the HA01_141 radio ROM, and thus prevents my Sprint 6600 from connecting to #777.
The good news is that the Telstra and Verizon HA01_140 Radio_ roms do work for voice and data (although roaming isn't working).

Guys, I know this isn't room for asking.... but, please help me with my Sprint 6600 Harrier.
I just upgrade the new ROM (WM6.1) to my PDA. But this is my stupidity, i installed the ROM that use for GSM device, while my device is CDMA.
How to rolled back to WM2003 or higher for may PDA. Pleade guys help me.... I've desperate for this... (
Thanks for your kindnes...
You cannot upgrade the Sprint or Verizon 6600 model to WM5 or WM6 or higher. No one has yet to be able to do it. I've tried many times. You need to flash your device back with a Sprint PPC6600 ROM. The GSM ROMs are not compatible with your GSM device.
You should be able to depress the reset button with your stylus while pushing in the power and top button on left side all at the same time (a three handed job). This will put you in Serial mode (you'll see "Serial") faintly on a blanked out screen. Then you'll hook up your phone via usb cable to your computer. Then the "Serial" will change to "USB". Then you'll click on the ROM and flash it back to your Sprint PPC ROM.
There are some hacks you can do with your Sprint PPC 6600 which greatly improve its performance. There's some great Stereo Bluetooth drivers and lots of other stuff. You can unlock the extended ROM and customize the device quite nicely. You can even modify your device to work on Sprints EVDO Rev 0 network. You'll have to search this website and the Wiki to figure it all out.
@ Rambo6: Thanks for your respon.
But, I have no WM2003 ROM to flash it back. Or i can do hack my device with stereo bluetooth and unlock the extrom for flash it back?
You need to flash back to an original ROM. You need to find a ROM for an HTC Harrier (Audiovox/Verizon xv6600 or Sprint PPC6600). UT Starcom used to have these ROMs on their website. Last time I looked they were not there. I have one of these on a harddrive somewhere.
Do some web searches and you can probably find it somewhere.
I have downloaded this, and I would like to upgrade my qtek to this release. Can I just run the BaUpgradeUT or is there additional work that I would need to do. I bought it in the UK and its SIM unlocked. I have already upgraded the Radio ROM to 1.08.
my devicedata.txt reads as follows
PH20B 0 B WWE E DANGA001 1.22.00 0 0 1.22.162 1.06.00 06.00
NOTE: This was just before the Radio 1.08 upgrade.
What I can't seem to understand is if I need to do some cooking especially considering that my device is a QTEK and is WWE
I would appreciate your responses.
Hi NinjaMan. Where did you get this update? Please let me know how I can get same update. Thank you for you help.

Please browse the forum, it's all here...
To the both of you, read my thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18128
It's all in there...easy heh?
Frontpage, I downloaded it from the FTP site here, however there has been some problem were someone has accidentally/deliberately deleted most of the files. However I just tried uploading the file back but got an "Upload failed" error. Basically, I couldn't create a directory to upload to nor could I upload to an already created director. I wil try and figure out another way to get you the file.
HappyGoat, believe me, I have read that thread, and I have also read the wiki getting started, this is how I upgraded to the versions displayed in my signature. The reason why I asked the question is because I cannot see the answer in the WIKI getting started or in your thread. This could be because I am DIM, which I don't have a problem accepting. Nonetheless, I would appreciate some help even if it a yes or no to the question I originally posted.
If someone with more knowledge tells me if it is possible for me to just run the upgrade based on the information I have provided in my original post, the plan would be to install and give my feedback as to performance. I just don't want to do it unless I am confident it would work.
HappyGoat, if you know the answer then please share, if the answer is in the thread you posted perhaps you can point me specifically to its whereabouts in the thread. I can't see it
the complete kpn files are in the root of the ftp site
However i didn't manage to install using baupgrade.
There was a folder in extended roms with the extended rom files from kpn. With the util to unlock and unhide the extended rom directory on your pda you be able to delete the old files and replace the kpn extended rom files. After that you can do a hard reboot and you have the kpn version. However it is better to edit the extended rom files a bit if you are not using KPN telecom as provider because it has some setupfiles that auto setup to kpn as provider. GPRS and MMS.
Ok, now i need some help
I disassembled baupgrade.exe and RUU.dll
Anyone can help change it a bit so it stops checking language and provider ¿ I think only baupgrade needs to be changed because ruu.dll is th file that contain's the routines to upgrade and reboot and get pda info and place's it into bootloader mode.
Looks to me that the only real difference, is the Extended ROM version...and as you probably know, the Ext. ROM contains mostly files that are put there by the Telco's.
What is does read in the thread I gave you, is that MDAIIIuser pulled this complete package apart and we all agreed that the contents of the Ext. ROM version were not shockingly different to the one you have right now...
Additionally, you could end up with a phone with dutch settings, KPN spash, and other custom KPN/dutch things. So, in my point of view, it is not worth the trouble.
But technically, you should have no problem upgrading, as the KPN ROM is WWE as well.
Hope that helps.
And eh, what is a "DIM"...?
Thanks Vastloper and Thanks HapyGoat.
O.K if the Real difference is in the Extended ROM version, then you gusys are probably right - its not worth the trouble. I don't really have any issues with my current setup apart from some bluetooth problems.
One last question - Is it worth upgrading my bluetooth to 3900. What are your experiences with 3900
bluetooth
If your bluetooth headset is making crackling noise when it is away more then 20 cm from your device then it is worth upgrading.
You need the bt3900 upgrade
ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/Bleutooth CABS/BroadcomCorp_BT1.0.0.3900.cab
After installing it you also need BA_OEM_AudioGW.CAB
http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=3320
this is for better audio.
Also, this is covered in several threads on this forum...the jury is still out as people experience different things for some reason.
Thanks Guys, appreciate your help. I do in fact experiencing the crackling noise, but I thought it could be to do with my BT Headset which is a cheap no name model.
I will give 3900 a go.
Thanks again guys
This is directed for you "ROM guru's".
I have a Siemens SX66 branded Cingular but is using an AT&T sim card. I was able to load the official Siemens upgrade which brought my SX66 to the following:
PH20B1 LC: WWE, OC: XGULB001, Rom v: 1.33.10, Extended: 1.33.110, Radio: 1.02.10. I have located all the updates I would still like to add on:
Radio upgrade to 1.10.00
Caller ID 1.2
Bluetooth 1.0.0.3900
I have these 3 updates. My big question is this:
How can I install (or create) a rom upgrade that would include these 3 items (the Caller ID 1.2 is a cab and I don't have a clue on where to put that one). And once I have the 3 items included in my main ROM UPGRADE, is it possible to somehow revert this entire upgrade back into a .exe file (as the original Siemens Upgrade was retrieved.
I am attempting to make this as simple as possible for the company I work for. If all they have to do is execute and sit back and watch the pretty lights, there would be no questions on "why is my phone useless now". Most people would not be able to do the 4+ steps required for this.
The tool that you need is not out.
The steps are not that hard and the answers can be found on wiki front page and faq.
Hi All,
I have a Imate Kjam and have the following ROM installed.
K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship
All I want is A2DP with my bluetake iphono mini headset.
I cant upgrade or downgrade the ROM due to the CID lock (can unlock the CID either as the utilities here dont support the AKU2 and cant downgrade for the utilities to work as it gives me error 300 invalid tool)
I installed tornado.cab for the A2DP functionality, I can see the handsfree and wireless stereo options but cant stream the music. Works fine as a handsfree though.
Also when I tap and hold the headset icon I dont get the wireless stereo option.
Can anyone please who has the Imate Kjam with the 216 ROM and Bluetake iphono mini headset, please guide me through this. It would be more than sincerely appreciated.
Regards
I hate to say it, but I wouldn't expect a response. The standard, "search the forum and you will find" will probably be the best you will get. I can suggest that you can do a pretty precise search and identify posts that may address your issue. Since I cannot claim to be a guru, I can't help with an answer. Just don't hold your breath waiting for a precise response . . .
You might want to search the forum for AKU2 and unlocking. There are plenty of posts detailing how to downgrade and CID unlock.
You might also get a better response with your pleas for help if you PUT IT IN THE SUBJECT LINE instead of a generic "please help." Most people overlook those.

The CID unlock is how their process fixes the "Data Crashes" Error after a bad flash or SD Card dump.
This is what i got as replies from IMEI support

Hello,
this is caused by an invalid update tool. Newer bootloader in device need newer ROM's. This message simply prevent you from bricking your device. Take a more recent ROM and it will work.

Which ROM are you trying to install?
Also, what is the current version of your Roms?
Also, make sure you are using a NOID version of the upgrade utility (you can find this with many ROMs such as Mr. Clean, Summiter's, Xelencin's, etc.).
If you're using an official upgrade util, it may read the version on your device and refuse to flash if the ROM version is lower than the installed version. The NOID version of the upgrade util will always report the same installed version so it will happily flash any ROM version. (that make sense?)

Damn, GameScan, you must be a mindreader.
I'm thinking that the Error 300 has more to do with Rom Version conflict that CID unlock.

It just doesn't mention CID on the site and I want to change my ROM but can't due to my current AKU2 version....now just want to see if things get resolved for SynesthesiA first
If you just want A2DP support, there is no need to upgrade ROM at all. Find the A2DP cab file in this forum and it can be installed on any version of Wizard, even pre-AKU2 ROM.

Obviously is not cid unlocked like they claimed because if it was you would be able to upgrade/downgrade regardless of the update utility, once the device is cid unlocked I t just install any rom ever made for the device without any modifications to it. my k-jam is cid unlocked and i can install any rom ,from any provider without modefying anything.
Ps;
I just unlocked 2 wizard today [thru msn remote assistance] one with the same rom version as yours other with 2,17 rom,so it is possible to unlock the cid wit the xda tools
Use my how to cid unlock tutorial to do it posted here in the xda.
Hi All,
Thanks for the replies and guidance.
Faria
I tried your CID unlock guide, very educating indeed. Unfortunately i cant go past the step where I have to downgrade the ROM as it comes up with Unvalid Update Tool Error 300. :-(

I tried installing tornado.cab, it gives me wireless option (not by tapping and holding down the headset icon though) but it doesnt stream music to the headset.
Any ideas how i can get a functional A2DP with my Iphono mini headset
Thanks in advance

Do you use WMP to stream music? So far, that is the only program in your phone that supports A2DP.
I'm glad to be eating my words . . .

Hi all
I am posting here in the slightest hope that someone can help me out. In a nutshell I have a T-Mobile MDA III PH20B that has ceased working
I have tried hard resets but still have no joy and wondered if someone could help?
First off, on the back of the MDA once the battery is removed it shows;
Model PH20B
IMEI 35303000.......
When it starts up, in the bottom right corner it shows;
NO GSM
D1.06.00 ENG
If I choose START > SETTINGS > DEVICE INFO I see the following on the different tabs;
VERSION
Rom Version: 1.06.00 ENG
Rom Date: 08/05/04
Radio version:
Protocol version:
ExtROM Version: 1.06.117 WWE
IDENTITY
Model No: PH20B
Platform PocketPC
IMEI: (and no number!!!)
Problem is, the phone will not work following me trying to upgrade the ExtRom from the T-Mobile website (http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/download_manager_mda_3.html). It now keeps bombing out out with an error message saying;
ERROR 120: COUNTRY ID ERROR n-n-38-38-38
The ROM image that you are trying to use is not designed to work with your device. Please check the vender Website and download the correct ROM update.
This has never been tampered with, has never been unlocked and is now dead as a dodo. Can anyone please off any advice on how I can get it backup and running? I am lost (no pun intended) without my Bluetooth TomTom and phone.
When it connects to its cradle, my PC can still see it, so I am able to copy files to and from it. Thats about all I can do with it though
frostie
Well it seems like you MDAIII has a corupt system and thus you need to reflash it.
Best option for you is wiki.
Go to the link in my signature and see if you can find a original version that you can flash it with.
The No GMS means that the radio part is corupt.
The 1.06 means that you have a OLD version of the OS as we are now at 1.42.
The fact that you can still copy files just proves that the device can be seem but without a radio it is not much of a phone.
The country code error you can get arond by using the MaUpgradeUt_noID.ZIP application.
In all you will find out most of what you need of wiki.
Follow the link for the radio upgrade to solve the NO GSM
Follow the link for the 1.42 for the os
And BTW wellcome to xda-developers (its your first post)
Cheers for the welcome. Yup, first post so had to make sure that I included as much info as I possible could to show that I am atleast trying to help myself
Thanks for the pointers. I will work my way through them and let you know how I get on.
Very much appreciated.
Backup and running
You want to know what the problem was? I feel ashamed
When it says Bootloader Mode - I got that far, but then pressed the on/off switch to fire it up again. I didn't realise the upgrade happened when it was a dark screen with just Serial or USB on it.
Shame!
Anyway thanks for your help as its back up and running, and up to date with 1.42 and 1.15 I also thought 'sod it' and have managed to make it SIM free too
Again, many thanks.
Well 3 posts later and you now have 1.42 radio 1.15 and sim free, thats wiki for you.
Now cook your extened rom and get rid of all the operator crap.
