Translating ROM - is it possible? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

as the subject says:
can the ROM be translated (converted) between different languages?
If yes, how :?:
cheers

Of cause it can. If you want to do that yourself - read MSDN about MUI. If you cannot - several companies like Quarta offer localization packages.

Good day compatriot.
I use Danghard new ROM and would like to use it with translation cause some of my programms can't work with Leng.
Could you please tell me who can help me with the translation.
Many thanks.
Leo.

UI Schell Language switch

I have Dutch MDA Vario, so to my mind it would be nice to switch the OS language to WWE. One of the possibe ways to do so is to update firmware with WWE Rom.
But I think there is another one:
http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=61&Itemid=45
there you can download "Add-On language packs for WM2005" (*dll.0409.mui files).
Simply copy these files to \Windows directory and change the language related setting in registry and soft-restart the device.
At least it works on my phone.
P.S.: But I think some files are missing cause several subjects in menus are still in Dutch
French OS to English OS
Hi Alex,
I have an Orange French OS and would love to change it to English. Unfortunately on that link they dont seem to have the French files yet.
Regarding Flashing, could you point me to a thread which explains how to do it? I've looked at a few and someone mentioned that the default English OS is actually in my ROM already?
Many Thanks for any help you can offer.
Cheers,
Rob
Guys you can install a QTek or IMate rom.
Those are WWE (world wide English)
So did I!
This method does not require flashing!!!
Hi Ponja and Alex,
How can I install it without flashing? Also, as I use Orange and their GPRS network for net access, do you think I will still be able to connect with a differen version of WME?
Many Thanks,
Rob
dear panja
i have the same problem , just bought vario from dutch t-mobile and i hardly know dutch at all
would you be kindd enough to tell me how to install a qtek or imate rom

How I can change the language to brazilian portuguese?
This Rom/Language change is safe?
Thanks
Upgrade to another Rom.
Look on the FTP for a Portugese Rom, I don't use it, but I know it's there (otherwise contact the XDA member Faria, he certainly can help you out!).

There's a Brazilian Portuguese? I'm unable to find it.

Are there any chefs here that can include Danish into their roms ?
I see there's German, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian etc etc but no danish ones...
If it's something u need from a Danish rom please advise what i/we can do to help

Why don't you use one of the great WWE ROM's allready cooked? Just put in the danish T9 like i did? There are really some great ones out, right now im running Tom's 6.5, and its fast and stable
Kindly regards from CyberQ
Simply because i'd like everything to be in danish inside the phone - all menu's etc
It's less cool to have sms', facebook, emails etc in danish when rest of it is in english...
/Smirge
Since Da_G recently posted all the files I need for a Danish ROM, I can add Danish to my kitchen
That would be priceless mate!!!!!ty so much!

I want to cook a localized ROM too, but on the weekend i haven't had enough time to tried. Here is what I found so far:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445, get to the last 10 pages to find a working download link for the 21888 revision. It seems to be the latest revision for 6.5. My 6.5 ROM (SEX1 Pure from gtrab) has revision 21874, so the 21888.zip should do it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5321948&postcount=10586 The link for 21888.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5313986&postcount=10518, a batch tool for getting your language

Adding Languages to a Rom

Hello Everyone,
I have an old HTC Dream (T-Mobile G1), and as the time goes by new versions of Android are released and those versions make my phone slower.
So, and because I want to have my phone the most updated possible, I've been searching for fast and stable roms for it.
And, by luck, I've found the Froyo by Laszlo rom which works great (since all gingerbread roms are too slow). There is only one problem, the rom includes all kind of languages but not the one I want, Portuguese, and since I've got problems to understand English well it is a little bit hard to me.
Can someone please help me adding the Portuguese (and/or French) language to this rom ?
Thanks in Advance,
Luis Da Costa
adding languages
i also wonder about adding language possibility to a framework in a custom rom too. i have a korean rom base and while i was modding, i saw that the containing language database only includes korean, japanese, chinese, portuguese and english.
i'm looking for a way to import languages like turkish, german, french etc.
can anybody help or show me the way of this experience's possibility?
