I have updated to the 2007 PRL on my ppc 6600 and I called sprint yesterday. While I was on hold I was told that my phone was automatically updated. How do I know what was "updated" on my phone? How do I know what PRL is on my phone currently?
I used to have VzW, and updating the PRL there was something that I did once a month because I got better coverage and connectivity every time I did it. On a regular cell phone, you don't ever really know or care what PRL number you have. All you know is that it either completes successfully or not.
My guess is that if your phone said that it updated successfully, then you have the latest PRL on the device. If I remember correctly, in Phone, choose Tools--Options, and then choose the More tab. There may be a button on that tab that gives you additional information (as I recall). Tap it and see what it reports.
The next time you update your PRL, you should notice a difference. If not, then the PRL hasn't been updated yet. As long as you are on your carrier's network, you should be able to update your PRL anywhere in the country.
I hope this helps!
My problem is that the 20007 PRL is not a published PRL that is supposed to be for EVDO but the 10028 is not from my understanding. I know there is a way to see your PRL. Any suggestions professionals?

I am thinking i am gonig to activate my cdma touch pro on page plus. has anybody else done this?
I just did my touch diamond last week
i am having nothing but problems trying to program and get my diamond working with page plus right now... what ROM and Radio are you using?
tp on pp
I activated a verizon touch pro on PP. Stuff to know, 1. a sprint tp can be done but much harder. 2. Page plus has a great subforum on howardsforum but even so until you walk through stuff yourself its confusing. Walking through is easy.
3. Activation does not use esn uses longer number under battery (meid?). However you activate be sure to indicate it is a TP because otherwise the system expects ESN numbers.
4. I am very pleased overall
Just fixed my stuck roaming issue, had to update my PRL manually with a NON-EVDO PRL file.. all fixed and im digging page plus so far.
Sorry i did not get back with you sooner vap3riley. Im still kinda new to my phone and do not yet recognise all the icons, its very well posible that i too am stuck in roaming i just dont realise it
My phone is mostly default except for a few apps i added and tweaks. No roms yet.
it deffently has to do with your prl i had the same problem when i first activated my htc hero200 to pages plus... and stupid me flashed it from alltel to sprint to page plus.. but i do know its your prl i have updated mine manully after activating it doing the *22890 thing or what ever i was roaming untill i manully updated the prl then everything is great the only problem that i am haveing now beside the internet and pic messageing is that sometimes my phone has to reboot when i have a incoming text message??? but when i update my prl with the same prl that i use it works fine for a day maybe to then it will start rebooting agian untill i reupdate my prl.. sorry for kinda asking a question while answering one but if you need any help with the prl i can let you know what i do know.. and if any one could help me out i would be very happy you can email me at [email protected] thanks every one
Today while at work I look down and my phone is in Digital Roam for no reason at all. I tried PRL update I just get a force kill on OMADM has stopped unexpectedly.
I tried removing the battery, re flashing to a different radio, tried wiping the phone and reinstalling fresh 2.1.2 still digital roam. tried connecting to wifi no luck.
took it up to the sprint store the guy is familiar with the fresh rom and told me he's seen a flood of issues today with 1.5 and 2.1 regardless of rom. but they reflash the phones with the sprint update and they are fine...
anyone else having this issue? any fixes? help?... i dont want to get the sprint update and I refuse to believe that they implanted something to block people with bootleg roms... right...?
I know the PRL should be 60665 but it shows 27392

Have you tried running Update Profile as well? That has fixed it for me. Also, I know this seems to pertain to ROMs and such, but post this in the Q&A forum.
Hope you get it figured out.

try adb pushing the attached OMADM.apk to your /system/app directory.
OMADM.apk FC's have been reported by others, and i experienced them myself. This APK fixed the issue for me, I was able to update Profile+PRL and everything was hunky dory =D
EDIT: also, it sounds like your on a GSM PRL. this issue has been covered by many. here is a quote from damageless on the issue.
damageless said:
you need to go and set your phone to not use the gsm band. On the dialer, type in *#*#4636#*#* and go to phone information and change the set preferred network type to CDMA auto(PRL) - you must do this regardless if it shows it already.

when you go into phone info, it will show that its set to CDMA auto(prl), but its just a graphical bug, if you try and change it, it will force close, and when the app recovers you will see it set to GMS auto(PRL). Just set it back to CDMA auto(prl).
Good luck =D
The sprint RUU actually wont fix the issue, I work at a service center and saw 4 phones with the same issue today. All had the sprint official 2.1 update.
To fix the issue you need the PRL flashed over the wire, unfortunatley the only way I know how to do this is with the software we use at my store. Ask your local service center to just flash the prl.
I nadroid to a previous version still was in digital roaming tried a prl finally it worked 60665
Usually just hitting Update PRL over and over fixes it.
I did but it kept FC and would just sit on the screen.
I've never had a need to roam until at the job site I've been working for the past few months, so this was never a known issue. When I try to make a call, the phone rings a few times, then transfers to a Verizon recording saying "unable to verify your phone, please hold while we transfer you to a Verizon operator."
Currently running DamageControl v2.09.01, but have tried with several Fresh builds(2.0d-2.33) as well, all with the same result.
As far as the radio goes, I've tried: 2.42.01.04.27(current),2.42.00.03.10, 1.04.01.09.21(1.5 stock radio) and 2.32.40.11.03(Verizon radio)
My PRL is current at 60668, but have had this problem since 60664. And have tried updating my profile multiple times. PRI is 1.70_003. ##786# didn't help either.
Any ideas anyone? Sprint is useless as always, just suggesting to do things I've already dne such as update profile and PRL. My fear is that I will have to run the new RUU and re-root in hopes that it will resolve the issue. Thanks in advance.
Anyone?!??
Around my work I have had this exact issue.. I listened to the message which gives the tower number and route and called Sprint to report the tower. The rep on the phone took all the information and sent out a tech to the area to track the tower down. You might try the Antenna app. (the one that pinpoints the location of the towers). It has been happening to me for a 2 months. It seems to affect other sprint phones too... if it gets too bad I would find out the tower and see if you can edit your PRL list to exclude it.
Hmm, I've never gotten a message with any tower information. Will try again tonight. I guess maybe I should try to find another area that my phone will roam in and see if the same happens also.

Try going into the Phone Information menu.
In the Dialer, type *#*#INFO#*#*. (INFO = 4636)
Then touch Phone Information.
Scroll down and you should see a line that says "Set preferred network type:" followed by a drop-down menu.
Does it say "CDMA auto (PRL)"? If not, follow these steps:
hit Menu, then tap Select radio band. You'll get a Force Close and that's okay. Let it reload all that stuff, then change the drop-down menu to "CDMA auto (PRL)". Then back out of everything, reboot. Once the phone comes back on, go back into *#*#4636#*#* and into Phone Information to see if that setting sticks. That may fix some of your network and roaming problems.
@chromium, thanks, but I've checked all that as well, just forgot to mention it in the op.

Just an update to this, I switched to CM6rc1 which has the option to force roaming, and it doesn't matter where I am I still get the verizon recording. Whats even stranger, it says if this problem persists call #8899. The recording on that number says, "Cingular no longer supports 611 roaming service"
For anyone who cares, I took the plunge, ran the RUU, re-rooted, nandroided back and wah-la...it works now...
I'm having a lot of NO SIM inserted problems, if I bring my phone to the Sprint store will they try and update PRL? I'm currently on the corporate PRL, what will happen if they do a data profile update through the phone, will it give an error message?
Pretty sure that if you just update your profile and prl before you go into the store then you shouldn't have a problem. You can do this through settings, but I'm sure you know that since you changed the prl to a corporate one manually (?). I'd think the bigger issue would be if you are showing s-off or not.
Sent from my rooted & s-off'd Sprint HTC One, powered by Android OS ?
I seriously don't think they would notice that you're on a corporate prl if that's what youre worried about. If they do a prl update it will simply revert to your normal prl no harm no foul. I could definitely see some of the sprint techs blaming root or s-off as the culprit though.
