Blue Angles & Magician got a crippled Bluetooth profile.
There's no Dial Up Networking client Profile, so i can't use any Bluetooth cellphones as dial-up modem.
Is there any Bluetooth patch to enable DUN Profile so i can use my CDMA/3G cellphone as bluetooth dial-up modem?
I wondered why HTC crippled the DUN profile on Blue Angles & Magician (Himalaya has it), because GPRS connection is a joke compared with 3G.
i need the same for a XDA2i as i wish to use my nokia 6630 as a 3g modem or the XDA2i
anyone know how we can add DUN to our bluetooth
Thanks
John

to work?¿?
Half solution, but no goal
Hi,
I have add a new key in the registy off my PDA2K:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\Connection Wizard\AddIns\Partner with a cellphone
and inside:
REG_SZ "Description" value "btrez.dll,29030"
REG_SZ "Dll" value "btwizardprofile.dll,3"
REG_SZ "Icon" value "btrez.dll,29087"
REG_DWORD "Order" value 100
REG_SZ "Title" value "btrez.dll,29029"
Soft reset ...
Now, when open the "new connection" in BT manager, I can see the new profile, run it, find my Nokia 6630, pairing .... but wizard end witch an error because ... I have something else to do but :?:
Sorry for my poor english
Bluetooth Manager -> New -> Explore a Blurtooth device -> then select your mobile phone -> then you see a profiles, supported by your mobile phone -> select all or only "Dial-up networking" -> finish.
After this in BLuetooth My shortcuts you can see icon like "<your mobile phone name>: Dial-up networking". Double click on it, and then you can see a list of connection - press "New connection..." select modem "Bluetooth Dialup Modem" and then fill all other fields, as needed for GSM network on your mobile phone. After you done with making new connection, you must click on it (in list of bluetooth connections).

I am not sure how to get this to work. I have downloaded the zip file, uncompressed it and copied the folder with all the uncompressed contents to my XDAiis. What do I do next?
Please help. Many many thanks

PLS do not copy all of downloaded files, only BTWizardProfiles.dll should be do. If you copied all of them, the Bluetooth will not work!
Only BTWizardProfiles.dll !!
I uploaded BTWizardProfiles.dll here again. (ZIPED)
Guys! Good news for you!
i made cab file of the Bluetooth Patch Ver,3900 with Blue Tooth Dial up network client service for Blue Angel(Maybe on Alpine also works, but no tested)
Just tap it on Blue Angel to install it and make soft reset ,you can patch to BT3900 and get Dial network client services with one action!
You can download it from
http://www.asukal.jp/BT3900DUN.CAB
But i am not sure BT3900 Patch is better than default one.
PLS do it with your own risk!
Enjoy it!
why I am not able to connect myself to vodafone with this patch, and the others, how you make it
thank you
BT3500+DUN client
ive found BT3900+DUN Clien was some small troouble last night,
The device will have been awaken alternative automaticaly, even i never touched at all.
So i am wonder which patch is better for Blue Angel so i made New cab with BT3500 and DUN client service.
Following is the DL link
http://www.asukal.jp/BT3500DUN.cab 4MB
You can patch on to the BT3900DUN.
Mr.miguelromerom>i made those cab with the CAB Manager.exe
Opened Original Patch cab file and replaced with another BTWizardProfiles.dll in that cab.
Trouble on you, what device you are using? i just tested Blue Angel.
Lets make a topic and post here fixes and useful stuff we'll find about WM5.
Here are tips to speedup WM2005 on BA:
1. Disable most sounds
2. [deleted, integrated into ba_wm5_fix.cab]
3. It is very annoying that OS checks the digital signature of all DLL/EXE files. I've uploaded a patched version that does not do that to /Uploads/Blueangel/wm5_test/ba_wm5_patch2.rar on FTP. It is nk.nbf file, replace the original file with it and reflash the device. This ROM version works a bit faster.updated 14 sent, probably fixed a problem that some CABs did not install.
4. Finally I've managed to make a backlight fix, I've taken FrontLight.Dll from 1.40 ROM and made a CAB-file that installs it and makes necessary registry changes. This CAB also contains registry fixes from p.2 and missing EXE files from my lower post. To install it just copy it to your device and run. updated 10 sent. 2005. Added 2 bluetooth files provided by ramram (today icon and bt settings). Removed STK.EXE.
5. I don't like the default behavior of hardware buttons - the leftmost and rightmost are mapped to softkeys. I've attached the fix that restores the WM2003 behavior. Previous version was not working. I've attached a fixed build.
6. To send files over BT use this method. Turn on BT, in Explorer tap on file and in context menu select "Beam File". It would send file over BT and IRDA.
7. Attached the camera fix CAB. It is taken from old ROM and is not fully compatible with WM5.
8. ramram made a CAB with album and MIDI ringtone support - http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=6658
9. dynastykai and rschell posted here that deleting hklm\drivers\builtin\camera and cameradriver registry keys would fix sound problems under SX66. I've attached a CAB file that would remove these keys (remove_camera_reg.rar). Updated 10 sent 2005, previous version did not install.
10. Added Headset_Today.rar. It shows bluetooth headset mode on today screen.
11. Added extended ROM unlocker
12. brn2prgrm found a fix for WiFi connection dropping on resume from standby - http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=30840
I've made BA_WIFI_FIX.CAB that sets the required registry value.
Note. After editing registry you need to power off your device, wait several seconds and soft reset. Otherwise changes would be lost!
Note2. When you install CAB file and it asks you to reboot device - don't do this! Power down your device, wait a bit, power on and then reboot. Otherwise registry would not be updated.
Note3. All CAB files attached here would work only on patched ROM!
Note4. Attached files may uninstall incorrectly.
Note5. If you have installed a previous patched or unpatched ROM - you can safely reflash your device with the most recent version. No data except for clock settings would be lost. It is not necessary to reinstall CAB files if they were already installed.
I'll copy here the other my post.
The main reason for battery draining in my case was that buttons are not locked when the phone is turned off. So it constantly turns on when it is in pocket. To fix this - take following files from 1.40 ROM:
Backlight.exe
ButtonLock.exe
CSDType.exe
DIM.exe
Keyboard.exe
MicrophoneAGC.exe
WLanMgr.exe
MyCPL.cpl
and copy to \Windows folder on your device. Windows would cry that files are unsigned - say "yes", then reboot. You'll be able to turn keyboard backlight off, lock buttons, change GPRS class, but you cannot change brightness. The sliders are ignored. They are ignored even if you'll take driver from the WM2003 OS.
Link to files: http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=6607
Guys, Install Album with midi.rar , it will enable the album works with the camera file tweaked by Mamaich and especially to enable midis as ringtones good luck
I also created a cab file to let you disconnect from the G bubble while you're connecting from the GPRS.
Tonailed created a file to wake up the device and turn on the screen backlight the time you receive an SMS. Click here to download!
To resolve the issue of the voice command "Low voice while announcing the names" on WM2005 install this patch:
Bug: Bluetooth shuts off when the device power button is pushed.
Bug: GRPS cannot be connected manually, it has to be done using a web browser.
Fix: By setting the clock to always be on the task bar, it greatly increases speed, reason it no longer has to redraw the bar at the top. So switching between windows is much faster. To do this click on clock settings in the control panel.
thanks
TOmTom 5.10 works
WM 5.10 works
Voice Command Works
Regedit works
Cryptocard works
Wifi works

First step to this?
So in my oppinion the first step now must be to create a buglist . I think, devs wiki would be a great place for this, what do you think?

i need help
i install on my sx66 the pda2k_5.rar
1.its very slow and i stop the sound
2.i cant dial with my phone the phonepad is not function
3.i dont get the bt mannger on today screen
4.no ring on incoming calls
appreciate help
You have to wait a few seconds, until it dials. But it works! On PH20B1 Devices there is no sound after all. Can PH20B users copy that? What about sound on your devices?
I've made a fix for the backlight problem and integrated there ramram's CAB. See the first post.
Bubisch. I don't have sound problems.
icohen2005. On my device it is not slow, no problems with rings or phone pad. I use patched ROM version.
The only problem left is that it does not respond for several seconds to keypresses/screen taps after it is turned off and quickly on again. And SPB PocketPlus 3.0 today plugin slowsdown the device.
I use dualsim adapter, after upgrading, the radio doesn't work. When I put single Sim card the radio is OK. Cause WM2005 has no STK? How to fix this problem? If it does not work, may be I downgrade to 2003se
MIDI Files
after i have installe WM5 i have tried to make my *.mid files to work as a ringtones but it doesn't work also windows media player does not recognize them.
Bluetooth
also bluetooth is weak i have noticed that 1. 3900 is little bit better than the one equipped with WM05

Rather easy, really.
1. Download the 5.10 upgrade from TomTom (You don't have to install the original 5.0 from the CD first). The file will be either an exe file or ppcup510.zip.
2. Unpack the zipfile (don't run the exe directly from WinRAR or similar programs, that will make it a lot harder to find the directories you want, unpack it to somewhere first). Run the update on the Windows PC. When the first window appears, go to the directory where the update is run from. Don't close the TomTom window, or the files you want will be deleted. You will see some new directories there, and what you want, is "nvapp". Within that you'll find a subdirectory called "app". Copy the four cab-files from that to your PPC, either via the network or ActiveSync. Never mind the ini files.
3. Go to your TomTom CD and find the directory Voice. You'll need to find the correct voice file. For Norway that's nor.cab, for Denmark it's dan.cab and so on. Copy that to the PPC as well.
4. Finally run all the five cabfiles. It doesn't matter which one you run first.
You're done. Of course there's the GPS as well:
1. Pair the Bluetooth GPS with the PPC.
2. Go into Settings, System, GPS. Set Program and hardware port to none and remove the tick from the box "Manage GPS automatically".
3. Settings, Connections, Bluetooth, COM Ports. Create an incoming port (I use COM8). Some ports will give you an error. Also create an outgoing port. I use COM7, and that is called "HOLUX GR-230 (COM7)" since I use a Holux GR-230 GPS.
4. Open TomTom and go through the regular setup. When you come to GPS setup, choose "Other Bluetooth GPS" and set that to the same port as your outgoing port. On my GPS that means COM7. Within 15 seconds your GPS should send signals. And you're good to go TomTom-ing!
And this was my post number 100. I'm so proud!
Thanks
I have added this to wiki but am not sure that it is for both WM5 and Ce2003.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Install_TomTom
WM5. You can simply run the installation app for WM2003SE, at least if you haven't installed AS 4, I have a sneakin' suspicion that it is the culprit, and not WM5 itself. And 2003 doesn't have the GPS applet in Settings.
And thanks! I tried to add it to the Wiki myself, but I'm hopeless with HTML and I haven't done any Wiki work...
Edit: Saw the note in the Wiki. I have done this twice on my WM5 Qtek 9090, it works as a charm.
Wiki is a piece of cake has Zero to do with coding.
use the edit button and you will see it.
There are one about 5 things you need to know and all of them you will see if you edit a page.
Maybe you would like to add your notes to the page!
Yeah, that was easy. It was creating a new page and linking to it that I couldn't get a grip on. Comments added.
Woo, Thx a lot. finally, i got tomtom 5 running on my ppc.
but anyway, anyone who has USA maps can share with us?? Westcost of USA is most importemt area for me.
Thanks again!!!!!!
Mastiff
If you go back a page and edit it you will see how to create a page.
After you have done the link a ? comes up, you then have to click on that to enter the content.
All Pages strart with BA_ or BA_WM5.
To get a feeling for links just edit a page that has one in it.
Check out the Wiki development Page on the root of BA wiki, You can set up a test area to create your own pages, edit format them ansd then post them when they are done. (you will see my page, edit it and will be able to work the rest out.)
If you have issues then pm me, I will also move files form Upload to a proper place and correct the link.
Have fun.
OK, thanks. I'll try that if I ever have anything worthy of the Wiki again...
Well, Tomtom is installed succesfully, but the registration of The Benelux map will not work.
This problem wasn't an issue before. With the TomTom 5.00 version from Bakonl.
Someone suggestions?
i got tomtom 5 installed and running fllowed by this guide. however, i copy the California Map to the root of SD Card. but tomtom shows "map not find"??
how to install a map. or i did something wrong?
by the way, i got map from my friend, he bought tomtom from bestbuy. i don't have full copy of tomtom 5. just downloaded the update package from tomtom.com
I just want to thank you for the great info on BT setup for GPS. I was trying to setup my Iguidance and Mapopolis with a Belkin BT GPS and had no luck. WM5 takes some getting used to.
Cheers!

Just happy to be able to help. I've gotten so much help on this forum that it's good I can give something back. Also I struggled like crazy with this, and most of the stuff is just compiled from other posters.

I don't find a cab file.
voices are ok now
but gps status is searching for 30 min,I got 2 blocks on status but still no gps connection!!???
Backlight Tomtom 5 with wm2005
The installation works perfect but when i start tomtom5, my backlight is going down. If i look at the backlight settings then they are OK. If i change one of the backlight settings while tomtom is active, the backlight is going on.
Mastif's solution is nice, but imho not conceptual
Mastif, thank you for your solution. But I think it isn't working at all. I'm talking about Blue Angel (WM5) and ASUS BT-100 GPS reciever.
I had big problem connecting TomTom 5.0 to GPS reciever under WM5. Devices were paired well, but TomTom 5.0 (and all other GPS programs) were not able to see serial port on which devices communicated. Avialable were just COM 1, 2 and 9 + BT UART. GPS was paired on ports 7 and 8.
After a lot of attempts I found a solution (IMHO supposed by MS as default):
- turn on Manage GPS Automatically in settings
- set correct hardware port where is GPS paired (COM8)
- choose port where programs should see GPS (COM7)
- start GPS application
- if I understood well, after first applications attempt to recieve GPS data, OS will create "virtual" GPS on port COM7, pair it with real GPS (the same PIN) and start to use it.
- voila! TomTom (5.0) started working!
BUT! This process is not repeatable! I spent a lot of time to start it again, with very bad success, sometimes ok, sometimes not. And I can't imagine that I will write PIN code for GPS pairing at every start of TomTom (eg in moving car
So I tried Mastifs solution with partial success, I upgraded TomTom at 5.1, turned off GPS sharing feature, paired GPS and TomTom 5.1 seems to be ok. But other programs not! They don't see paired COM port as well...
Any other advice? I need to complete this task to November, 1st, because I will drive Atlanta - Key West - and back. I need a satellite navigation! Last month I made a "little" trip Prague - Germany - Netherlands - Belgium - France - most western part of England and back, major part I drove alone and can't imagine driving without TomTom! But it was with MDAII (Himalaya), now with Blue Angel I am nearly lost!

Hi firstly thanks for this method I'm so happy to have it working on my pda (your a champion)...One issue i have encountered is that even after installing off the update of 5.10 in prefs it says it is 5.0 which is odd to me as I have it working fully and as far as I know it doesn't have any probs with the probs of 5.0 but saying this i'm not sure how I would know if it is having probs with my vga etc etc
thanks in advance
Kind of strange. Mine says "Prg. Version 5.100 (5160)" under Preferences, Show version.
Thx for the guide, I finally got TT working again on wm5 !
One snag though ... TT5 doesn't appear in the Today screen, even when I select this program in "system - today" :?

I have posted This thread to assist anyone like me, who is not a programming whiz. Got to Install this mainly through trial and error and I am not an expert in this. So If anyone can make my steps easier please do!
This is a Variation Installation For a thread a while back in October 2005 Author Ncruz and effjay. Ncruz Posted a wm5 cab. This cab does not install directly due to permissions. However I have extracted the files using windows cab manager.
First are the files are required in windows. If it asks about permissions copy to PDA root folder then copy with Resco File Explorer and overwrite. Next are the registry files. You can import them with a registry program such as tre or regedit.
If you want Microsoft Voice commands to be the default program overwrite SSDialer.exe in windows folder with Voicecmd.exe from Program files/Voice command/ otherwise Cyberon Voice is initiated when you press headset.
I will post the cab in its entirity although it will not install, incase someone knows an easier method to get voice commands working Please contibute to this thread. However this method worked for me. Below in the zip are the files Extracted with Win Cab manager in zip format so you can copy zip to your pda then extract them to the correct folders, along with the registry files you need to import to registry.
N.B..sound of Voice commands is through PDA and not headset. Pressing headset connect button opens Cyberon or active voice command depending on what you have
Can not seem to be able to import the reg files....
OKay, got the files to import and the files copied - no go for me. Darn-it.
Installation
did you do a soft reset with the software built with the rom and repair the bluetooth headset
I might have reset without using the software reset....
However, got it working with this cab file that I found on my storage card. I even got MS Voice Command to work when I hit my BT Headset button.
Heck, it did not even change the record button to SSDialer! I would have thought it would but it did not. So, I am happy!
glad its working for you
now how can i do?
download odie3 's cab file and install? that's right?
Then, when device auto turn off, bt still go off as before?
I can't download files..... Where can I get them?

The only way I know how to keep BT on is by plugging in my Device to a power source and doing a soft-reset. As long as I do not turn it off with the power button or have it set to auto-power off while plug in, BT will stay on. I do this everytime I get into my car - since it takes me a hour [sometimes more] to get home, so my BT Headset always works.
Hopefully I explained that correctly for you to understand....

Your query confirmed. The Wlan manager icon from the today screen goes as a side effect of installing the cab. Wifi still works but the Icon in today is not there. Not a big deal for me, as I have skinned my Pda with Wisbar, which has a wifi icon.

Yes it happened to me as well, but i prefer BT Voice Command Activation than WLAN icon
Thanks for the info
BT activation doesn't work for me...
For some reason the activation through BT headset doesn not work for me.
I'm using WM5 TuMa 1.3 ROM.
The BA_WM5_Voice_Dialer_2.cab doesn't install on my device (permission violation), so I copied the files manually to the Windows folder.
The reg files also don't import to my registry when double-clicking, so I made the changes manually.
It still doesn't work.
Now, when I hit the button of my BT headset (Moto HS-810), the standard dialer is activated (instead of the voice command app) and I hear hissing sounds in the headset.
I tried it both with Cyberon and MS apps. Both don't work.
Did anyone encounter this problem? Anyone solved it?
Thanks.
anyone knpow how to do this with voice command on 2003se?
Just upgraded to TuMa 1.3 and have found a MUCH more simple way of doing it.
1) Install Microsoft Voice Command
2) Download Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/ce.htm)
3) Using Total Commander change the read only tickbox for \windows\sddialer.exe so that there is no tick (1 press just greys it out, i needed to press twice) <- browse to \windows in TC and right cick (hold down) on sddialer.exe, and click properties.
4) (you don't need TC for this) Copy %install dir%\voicecmd.exe (where %install dir% is the directory you installed voice command to) to a temporary location and rename it to sddialer.exe.
5) (using TC) 'Right click' on your new sddialer.exe (previoult voicecmd.exe) and select 'cut to clipboard' then navigate to \windows\ and 'right click' and select 'paste from clipboard', when propted overwrite the origional file.
6) press the button on your headset and test it!
the only thing we need now is for some clever person to work out how to route the voicecmd audio through to the headset instead of the load speaker (to my knowledge it uses the microphone on the headset allready (at least it works when i speak quietly from the next room )
it works like a charm
cheers
Do what Midlet says?
If I do what Midlet says- will I still need the 2 files that mohdwadea has posted? Is Midlet's process a complete stand-alone process... or is if preceded by more steps?

Have not investigated midlets way of installing as Mine is working. However i suggest that if you check your registry and see if the reg keys i posted within the zip are there. If his way works fine, if it does not i suggest you import the keys into registry and see if that helps. I also strongly suggest you make a note of the keys and where they are imported too, as if it does not work you can remove them.
It worked
Mohdwadea,
Your method worked! This time I performed a soft-reset after the installation and also re-connected the headset. I did not have to go he registry-entry route because the cab-file installed on my device.
This will help me a lot on the road in business. God bless you.
Just glad its working for you!
voice not sending
MOHDWADEA,
I am using this fix a lot on the road. It works very well... expect for in one situation! I can initiate voice dialing by the record button on my device and it accepts voice dialing commands through the bluetooth headset and teh call goes fine.
However, if I initiate the voice dialing using the button on my blueooth headset (Cardo Scala 500), it initiates the voice dial app just fine, accepts commands and conencts the call.... but the other party cannot get my outgoing voice through my bluetooth headset, rather it gets the voice from the mic on my phone. Also, the incoming sound can be heard in my bletooth headset but ALSO on the phone.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Sagar
I-mate PDA 2K
WM5 TuMav1.3
Just sorted BT voice dialing on my TRINITY witha Jabra BT250 all working fine
using the infor here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281977
I've also mastered using BTAudioOn.exe in the registry in place of the voice dialer to give me Audio Streaming
Only problem is, as the article in the forun suggest it disables the voice commands!! I can live with this as I only want to stean the TOMTOM voice when using the satnav while walking or on my bike.
What I had in mind was a a couple of icons, one to make the registry changes for the BT Audio streaming and the other icon to toggle back (ie change the registry back to voice comand via the BT headset). As far as I can see (once BTaudioOn.exe is copied to my Trinity) the only difference between turning my Jabra BT250v into an audio streaming headset and a phone headset are the two registry changes; and then change them back to give me a Phone headset again.
Can anyone tell me if this is possible to use a .REG file?
Can it be written on a PC and then copied to the Trinity so that it runs?
Will reg files run the same on a PDA and they do on a PC?
Thanks in advance
Try to use SKSchema software, it can put any values in registry depends of any window or process runing on the device. It watch & if you made a rule to put in registry key voicecommand with launcheAppEnable zero as window of TomTom appears u can get a continiusly sound in handsfree if also it put long value in Duration option.
Where do I fond the software please
Also... could you please explain a little better a I don't understand what you have written...sorry!
