I'm using SPB Backup as my default backup program. What's happen when I use a PIM backup of AKU 3.2 to restore in my downgraded AKU 2.6? Do I need to sync my PIM data with M$ Outlook b4 downgrade?

hmm... I can't be sure, but learn by old AKU2.3 experience, the pim data is modify in AKU3 so i think its better to sync first. then u can try if it work or not bro.
The AKU 3.2 has a 'Bluetooth hardware error' error, thus I'll propably downgrade to 2.6 :/
it's possible to flash this rom without hard reset?
I have Helmi Aku 1.3.2 beta but I have some problems with phone and WiFi.
Nope, its not possible :/
Man, I just upgraded 2 days ago from WM2003SE to AK3.2 v1.3.1.
Now, I see AK3.2 v1.3.2 & AK2.6
Wonder which one should I try. I do miss using Voice Command, but I know I have TT6 working on 1.3.1 nicely.
Hmm.....
2 question:
1) Anyone got a .cab for Canada Rogers&AT&T GPRS setting? Can this be included in the future for Operator list?
2) With AK2.6 or AK3.2 v1.3.2, do I still need to modify at address 0437072 of nk.nba from (00 00 20 00) to (00 00 80 00), or is that done already? I did that for 1.3.1, or would that actually made it slower?

that would actually make it slower you'll be lowering the paging pool from 16MB to 8MB.

there's no need to apply Paging Pool with both rom (1.3.2 & 1.1.2).
Wow, just upgraded to 1.32 AKU 3.2 with 16mb paging file size yesterday and now AKU 2.6 with 16mb paging file size is ready.
No time to try this out. Maybe next week.
Anyway, 1.32 AKU 3.2 is works very fast for me now, everything ok except for no M$ Voice Command.
Hope to hear from the rest of you on the results of this new upgraded rom.
Hi,
couldn't wait to test that release. My first try on WM5 was helmis AKU32 v13, which runned smoothly after applying the poolsize patch. But my most valuable thing, MS Voice Command, didnt run on that AKU since PIM Database format changed. Then tried AKU23 from Helmi wich worked acceptable with some problems and Voice Command worked well. As AKU26 with all fixes from AKU32 was here I gave it an instant try and yes that was it.
Haven't found any problems/bugs playing around yesterday night, that helmi dont know allready. Voice Command works fine, which is the most important thing for me. I have the feeling that ActiveSync is much more stable than in AKU23 or 32. Cradle in/out again and again and no errors on my desktop. I got the Microsoft GPS Multiplexer running, didnt work for me in AKU32 or AKU23 from helmi
Helmi I could kiss your ass for that release!
EDIT:
Minor Problems: Playing an MP3 from SD-Card and suspend/turn on again hangs the Shell, RNDIS doesnt detect when removed from cradle (IP Adress is still up), turn on and off resets that behaviour.

What about turning on bluetooth and wifi and flightmode? Does it work all the time?

Well, i tested it for you. Using the Systrayicons of Bluetooth and WLAN has worked turning booth on and off. Using Comm Manager it only works well if you turn BT and WLAN on and off via systray once after a soft reset. If you don't do that Comm Manager will make trouble. Flightmode works only to disable the phone, enableing it again didnt work for me (tested twice). But Flightmode.exe was able to turn on the phone again after some seconds.
Bluetooth does not disble when device suspends and WLAN disables when device suspends and reanables if you resume, that the normal behaviour of my last WM2003. Im going to check GPRS later the day.
TomTom5 boots up in around 8/9 seconds with "Deutschland-Map"
EDIT: GPRS short connect test works, no Connect link in the GPRS Ballontip, but when you open a URL it begins the connection. I had to change the Search GPRS an Connection to Search GPRS on Radiostartup to get it connect successful.
By that i realised that after i swaped my SIM Cards, the first Bootup show R: NONE G: NONE, and Radiomodul doesnt work. After one Softreset everythings fine again.
TomTom6 boots up in 10 sec (tested with North America maps)
But closing TT6 does not disable bluetooth connection (AK3.2 v1.3.1 does it)
What about sms backup from Helmi's 1.32 rom using Spb backup, can it be restored to this rom?
Have anyone of you tested it?
Thanks.
my system backup via spb backup yielded errors. i had to reinstall all my apps.
i opted to go back (or forward?) to 1.3.2. had problems with messaging, worldmate pro, hanging, speed (doesn't feel like it's with a 16mb paging pool).
Anyone have a solution or tip for that?
With Helmi AKU32 v13 installed my display did not turn on when I received a sms (device suspended), but played sound and showed notification (after manually turning on display)
This "feature" is missing in this AKU26 release, what have I to do to restore this behavior? I searched the forum but could't find answers to that. I guess it must be a notification option or something in power settings?
Thanks in advance.
With this greatest rom when I receive an sms my pda plays only the sound and the screen doesn't turn on.. until I press power button.

Just tested using spb backup 1.5 to backup my sms, emails and mms before putting in this rom and restoring them. Works without any error.
Cheers!

I'm facing the same thing, i.e. with incoming sms, led flashes red, pda plays sound and screen doesn't turn on, until power button is pressed.
Maybe this behaviour is good because at times, I don't realise an sms had been received and the screen is turned on, and programs on the pda are started without me knowing.
Cheers!
Hi, ALL
I have G3 T-Mobile MDA (Wizard), running Wm5 custom ROM from Xelencin and latest Radio ROM.
Also I have installed
SPB Diary, Pocket Plus, Weather, Imageer, Backup
Resco File Explorer
PhotoDialer Plug-in
WM5Storage
MemMaid
Some RSS Reader
iGuidance
MS VoiceCommand 1.5
IMPlus, Skype
Yahoo 2 Go, Google Maps, Live Search
TCPMP
etc
most of these on 2GB miniSD. Everything works. I use most of that from time to time.
I saw faria WM6 ROM. I saw MB Rom, I saw Mun's Rom. My question is - do I need to upgrade to WM6 ? Will it add something, which probably I'm missing ?
Or it is just to have latest Windows Mobile OS ?
Second big question - will my apps work with WM6 ?
Also if moderators think this question belongs to Wizard Mobile 6 forum, can you please move it

Do you need to upgrade? Probably not. I will say that most (not all) of the custom roms will give you more space and will run faster than the stock official roms.
Will add something, which you are probably missing? The quick answer is yes. You are missing the frustration that some of us go through with these . Seriously though, its hard to answer it, but for me I find the custom roms more stable than my original Cingular 2.25, faster, gives me more room on the phone itself, and just more fun to play with (but then I'm a geek).
I can't honestly say why the draw to WM6 other than the geek factor involved and the ability to show friends and coworkers that you are running WM6 (and they don't care anyone or don't even know what you are babbling on about).
I would suggest you at least give Faria's or Molksi's 2.3 and 3.3 ROMs a try even if you aren't interested in WM6. They are VERY nice and stable. But also, understand that you will have to fiddle and tweak with your phone for a day or two to get it back to where you want it.

I've used Spb Backup, Resco Explorer, WM5torage, Memmaid, MS VoiceCommand 1.6 all on Faria's AKU 3.3, WM6 MBE, and Faria's WM6 "the real thing" and they all work.
I'll defer to others on the rest of your list.
I know you didn't list it but, as you are using other spb products,
spb time doesn't fully work
How did you get Yahoo go 2?
double post
I received email with Yahoo go 2 and there was a link. Just went there and install. Dont remember exactly, but something like that
It's only available for smartphones... You don't happen to have a link/file handy? :d
Yahoo Go 2 for smartphones and pocket pc phones:
This is where I got mines from, they had it as an option when it first came out but now it is hidden and they want your phone information to send it to you.
This link will get you the cab. file and the active sync download.
http://sites.mobile.yahoo.com/go/mobile/getstarted
That link is Yahoo Go 1, which I am running right now.
Hi All,
I'm running 2.24a "Mr Clean" WM5 ROM at the moment, and fancy a change.
I need to hook up to Outlook 2000 at work, so that means I can't use Activesync 4.5, which in turn (as I understand it) means that I can't install a WM6 ROM yet.
So, what's the best WM5 ROM? The Molski 3.3 one sounds good - can anyone recommend a good, stable ROM for me to try? It's got to be stable, decent A2DP helpful, and I'd like it to look pretty...What's the difference between the different page pool versions?
Do I need to downgrade to an official ROM before I upgrade on my G3 Wizard?
I'm currently running:
IPL 2.2.24
SPL 2.2.24
GSM 2.25.11
OS 2.24.10.11
Cheers
Ric
I'm using Molski 2.26 for a long time now and felt quite happy with it. I just never moved on to the 3.3 because of the AKU 3 and the problem in migrating the calendar (i use a lot of repeated events / patterns). Both dotfred's util and MS outlook get confused about that.
I'm not sure if the one i'm using has A2DP but the fact is that i'm listening right now to music with my bluetooth earphones and none skipping
cheers
calendar problem?

i'm a heavy calendar user, too. i'd not heard of a calendar problem? quite happy for the phone calendar to be overwritten though if it helps as my "master" calendar/contacts/tasks etc are on my PC in Outlook...

that's the problem: I do not use MS Outlook and usually MS likes to make drastic changes between versions of their software (ask DotFred about it) thus making it very risky to load a AKU2 backup into a AKU3 OS (for the calendar sake of course)
