How do you hard reset WM 5 ? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I've tried all the usual key combos, and even an app and no matter what I try I can't get it to hard reset :-(

Soft reset, and then before the version info in the lower right corner comes, press power+record+camera. Then you're in. I have done it a few times, and I always have to try 3-4 times before I make it. When you're there you navigate and switch between yes and no with record and camera buttons. Choose no on the to, and yes to clean registry hive and format storage. Finally press the mail button, and the deed is done.

amazing thanks, someone should put this on the wiki I cant see it on the blueangel wm5 page

I pressed Record + Camera + Reset for 5 seconds and the same menu appears. I then use record button to go up and down in the option and camera to change from "yes" to "no". Press mail button when finished.
Hope this helps!

Dear xplode,
I tried more than 10 times still can't memory registry changed. Do you know is any program installed will cause this problem.
Thanks a lot.
You have very strange issue, i do my registry editings with Resco mostly
have you thought about that some software may change the registry entryes or keys on bootup to the way they like, and even if you change them on reboot the entryes are lost
try to change reg's to a clean rom, it is software issue but i am not sure which software makes this

Just curious, which registry keys?
There's also a possibility that programs "auto-loading" during startup might be causing the problem.
I've been using the freeware reg editors from PHM & .Fred's Task Manager & both works in "all" of the AKU 3.5 ROMS here.
You may try to install the test cab attached which changes the label of your left & right softkeys to Test1 & Test2 respectively. Changes are effective immediately, soft reset & see if it gets retained.

Remapping the side OK button?

I want to remap the side ok button to calendar and long press to new appointment.
I have Pocket Plus 4 and it gives me the option to do it and it works when i have a program open, but when im on the today screen, it just opens the start menu. Any soluton to this?
You might try posting your question on the Spb forums. Developers over there monitor the threads, and might be able to help.
http://www.spbclub.com/forum/
Try aebutton plus.
Ideas? Wouldnt want to register to another forum for this...
like the post above said, AEButton, or maybe HButton.
Ok, I posted to the spb forums.
Please refrain from posting suggestions you have not tried. AEButton and HButton do not work.
Even if they would work, when I have a program that’s supposed to do this function, the first answer on my opinion shouldn’t be to install more programs to my device.
Just do this via the > Settings > Buttons.
I reprogrammed it to the HTC Action Screen.
AE Button does work, however, much like the Red End-call button there is a small issue. I can map the button for single, double, tripple, and long press, BUT, the button works as follows.
Press button, upon release the start menu opens.
Press button again, then it acts as AEB's 1st press.
Press button, twice, thrice, hold, all work OK
So it's OK but you just have to ignore the first push.
Now this is all on the side OK button, the front OK button is mappable seperately with AEB+

Like your Avatar, Bahh Humbug. AnyButton + is easily one of the most useful apps for PPC phones. I have so many functions mapped with it that the phone would be crippled without it, so sometimes suggesting a must have app is helpfull.

the ok button on the side is extremely different from the ok button on the front that you are referring to
Is the side OK button similar to the PTT button? I wonder if the side OK key can be removed from the registry and then renamed so that it would not open the start menu first, before the first, twice, thrice and long AEB push?

THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT....
I dont need new apps, i have everything else the way i want. Like my avatar, i'm allmost good to go.
In Pocket Plus 4, first push opens the start menu and second push closes it. Unless i have some window open at today, then it works as i remapped it.

Very long boot time after ROM upgrading

Please excuse me for my English, i am not a native English speaker, and also thank you for reading this topic!
I am having trouble upgrading my O2 XDA IIs, I have followed the wiki here at xda-develope, and I also read some other material. Everything go smoothly: Resize the ext rom, flashing the ROM, but it just stuck at the white screen when I try to hard reset the PDA, and only after 4 hours (yes, 4 hours) It showed the align screen & wellcome, but everytime I reset the device (soft or hard) it will take another 4 hours to get in WM.
I have tried AKU 3.5 WM5 Helmi v1.4.CF2 R2(by baniaczek), 1.4 Vanilla version/Clean version and some PDAVIET WM 6.1 ROMs, all with the same result.
So could anyone show me what is wrong with my BA?
what do you mean by white screen? just plain white? or is there something written in it? pardon because i've never had that since i've had my BA.
have you ever gone into and through the hard-reset process?
if you havent... try this procedure.

1. SoftReset
2. When the three color stripes(four including white) appear QUICKLY press and hold Record and Camera button.
3. If a menu appears... (if not softreset again while holding Record+Camera)
use Record To NAVIGATE the three items and Camera to TOGGLE Yes/No
4. Press Mail button to Execute the Instructions.
--> The instruction says that the PDA's screen will turn white for 30 seconds while it is clearing the registry, file etc... But for me, it takes 4 hours

just rec my diamond. all i can get on is windows 6 anybody help
Please elaborate. Your post, as it stands, does not make much sense to me....
Anyone else?
sorry i mean there is no fancy screen like weather, internet etc.just green windows
Strange.....make sure TF3D is enabled as a today-plugin. Start>Settings>Today>Elements>tick TF3D (rough translation from German ROM).
If it´s not there, installation might have been interrupted when you first turned it on - hardreset may help.
thanks looks like a hard reset sorry complete novice how do i reset
READ THE MANUAL!
Off the top of my head I believe it should be: hold down "Volume Down" plus "Enter" Key, press the reset button while still holding down above buttons. Let go of the reset button and follow the on-screen instructions....
When it boots back up, let the machine do it´s job after the calibration screen. The device will install a few apps (Opera, TF3D, HTC Phone skin etc.) and reboot automatically. If everything goes well, you should be up and running in a couple of minutes....
thanks for the help looks like a 2 man job to reset will take to orange let them sort it thanks anyway

Touchflo 3D Doesnt Start

well hi, im new here, i got an xda diamond touch, and my problem is that touchflow 3d doesnt start, i get always the windows mobile GUI, how can i start touchflo 3d ?
Sorry to ask the obvious, but you have enabled TF3D, haven´t you?
Start>Settings>Today>Plug-Ins>check TF3D is ticked (rough translation from German ROM).....
thanks for the quick respond, well when i enter today settings there is no touchflow 3d in the plugins only the windows stuff
Now that´s strange.....what ROM are you using? Standard HTC or some provider branded ROM? Thsoe ROMs usually contain the TF3D files - they are installed when you first boot up the device. It´s possible to supress that installation by doing a soft reset quickly after the initial display calibration screen....maybe that´s what happened?
If you haven´t done too much tweaking/installing you might try the old hard reset (you´ll loose all your settings/programs etc., that you have already installed). If you don´t want to do that, maybe someone else has got a better idea how to revive your TF3D.....
ok i have done a softreset yet, but didnt helped, now will try with a hardreset hmmm

Have you had a look at the manual yet???
Soft reset: either press the red button in the stylus hole with the stylus, or long press the power key to shut down the device and then restart it - same effect.
Hard reset (reset back to how it was when you received the device): Push and hold "Volume Down" Key + "Enter" Key, push the reset button in the stylus hole while keeping the above buttons pressed, release the reset button and answer the onscreen questions.
When the device boots up after the hard reset you should be taken to the display calibration screen. After that the device will show you a quick countdown before installing additional apps (TF3D, phone skin, Opera, etc., depending on the ROM you are using). When installation is finished (do NOT interrupt it!), the Diamond will automatically soft reset. After that you really should have your TF3D installed and working.....
ok thanks but what should i do, restore manufacturer default or restore manufacturer default and format movinand?

The "format" option also formats your internal storage (your device´s hard disk, so to speak), so it´s really up to you......by formatting the internal storage you will of course loose all your files on that media (movies, pictures, whatever you´ve already put there) and have to copy it over again.....
wow seems its working, thank u so much michi really THANK U
You are welcome! Glad, I could help!
lost a Touchflo theme

Click Start/Settings then select the Personal Tab and click Today. Click the Items Tab at the bottom then click on the box to check Touchflo3D then click OK. You may have to scroll down a bit in the items list to find touchflo3d but it should be there.
