I don't know if this has been posted before, but I found this tip on another forum.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Phone
- Create new dword value
- Change the value name to "Flags2" (no quotes).
- Select the 'hexidecimal' button.
- Type 10
- Click ok.
- You should now see in the 'name/data' section:
- Flags2 16 (0x00010)
Now when you are connected to GPRS and click on the bubble on the task bar, it will show a disconnect button to disconnect and show duration. Or, you can press and hold the red hang up button for a few seconds and it will disconnect as well.
Works like a charm. Thanks
Which forum did you find this on? Do they have anything listed for connecting as opposed to disconnecting? Merry Christmas!
The only way that I have found to connecting is through a program that automatically connects (ex. weatherpanel) or GPRS Monitor from SPB. It allows you to connect with a single tap.
I'm using GPRS Monitor to do that, but that's such a small icon to hit with my finger. It works great for the Wizard too.
Yeah, I hear ya. I prefer having the option to connect from the connection bubble on the taskbar like in WM2003. Hopefully it can be brought out by a registry setting like this.

Hi @ all !
I have the problem, that the phone hangs up after I stopped a phone call by using the red button or pressing "end call" on the display. If the person, I´m calling is ending the phone call, everything is ok, but as soon as I stop it, the display gets darker, and still, I can navigate thru the menues, but I cannot open the windows start menu anylonger and next to the windows logo in the top bar, theres the word "phone" or "contacts" instead of "start".
Anyone who can confirm this bug ?
Cheers
Marco

I have found three work arounds:
1) Press the power button off and then on and everything should be normal.
2) While on a call, have your device connected to your charger (No bug while on external power)
3) Use the following hack (Thanks to someone who posted this already here on XDA):
Modifying the DWORD stored in:
Code:
\HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableFastDormantDisplayDuringCall
from "1" to "0" will leave the screen on and falling back to the backlight/power settings)

Thanks Buddy, that works great and everything is ok again !!!
Is there a program that will turn Bluetooth On/Off and when On, allows it to be visible to other devices? (that is ticking both the boxes on the bluetooth settings) ??
Anyone?
been looking for something like this for ages... there are a few options, neither of which were what i really wanted....
try btIO - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284923&highlight=btIO
(issues for me : it runs in the tray with a tiny icon which is not so finger-friendly, and creating a shortcut to it with a bigger icon for the today screen just seems to launch multiples of the program rather than activating / deactivating the BT)
and there seems to be an HTC BT Today plugin somewhere...
i'm now using wisbar, and a shortcut on the screen goes to the BT settings pages. not ideal, but closest i've come to what i need...
edit -
try this, second prog down the list :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333237&highlight=htc+bluetooth+today+plugin
Ive just had a look at btIO, and Im og the same thought as you - not wanting it to be memory resident etc, so I tried the Smartphone version which cycles between the 3 states everytime you run it Eg Off, Connectable/Discoverable/back to off again, which is what I want, and it works on the PPC!
(actually its not 100% perfect, it goes Off/Connectable/Connectable/Discoverable/off, so you have to run it an extra time to get it to connectable, but it the best Ive seen so far.
AE Button Plus, does this easily and so much more, I have my Win button set for double tap=BT On/Off, tripple tap=WiFi On/Off.

Thanx dude....AE Button Plus is now a must have program for me This is what i call fully utilizing all the buttons on the Kaiser
Edit: Is there a way to map the button to turn on "Beam". Unless i'm expecting a file transfer, beam is normally off and would be great if i could just turn it on with two press of a button
WOW!
That really is a great little app saves so much messing around, top tip!
I am looking for a quick and simple application/script that will allow me to turn on & off 3G, but still allow EDGE/GPRS to work. I'd like something I can just assign to a hardware button or as a shortcut.
I've tried BandSwitch and looked at phonealarm and neither are what I'm looking for. I tried the 10 button commgr, and it didn't want to work for me.
Maybe you can do something with using MortScript. With MortScript you can check the presence of a connection, connect and disconnect a connection.
After creating a script you can assign it to a button or a shortcut.
Mortscript is worth investigating.
Until I get around to playing around with Mortscript this is what I did.
I created a shortcut to the Band tab in the Phone settings app. This enables me to switch between GSM/3g and power cycle the radio with a couple of screen taps. As long as the shortcut is located in /Windows/StartMenu/Programs, it will be picked up by the buton mapping app and will be available to be mapped.
On my Vario III the shortcut properties are
Code:
"ctlpnl.exe" cplmain.cpl,20,3
Does anybody know/use this program?
I think its THE application that I love the most on my PocketPC/Herald, but I never see it mentioned anywhere.
So I've deciced to make a post about the possibilities of this program:
(No I DO NOT work for them or know any of them personally )
What is it?:
- A piece of software that will let me create custom (phone) profiles for Windows Mobile Professional devices.
So, ok there are more programs like this, so why this program?:
- Because it is VERY clean on your TodayScreen, just one line displaying the profile selected.
So what makes me so excited about Profiles for Windows Mobile?
- Because every custom made profile allows you to run a program of choice.
You can then link that profile to start at a certain time, or start it manually by pressing a software button (or select the profile from the dropdown list on the todayscreen)
or a hardware button.
- You can also enable/disable the Phone/Wifi/Bluetooth per profile.
- You can also switch the screen (portrait/landscape) per profile.
This allows me to do the following on my Herald:
- I've created these profiles, which perform these steps:
* normal
this profile sets the phone volume to normal volume and starts every day at 7am.
* silent
this profile I select by hand if I don't want to be interrupted
* vibrate
this profile I select by hand and puts the Phone on...vibrate (go figure), nice for meetings
* internet
now it gets good, this profile I select by hand (an icon under programs) and does the following:
- sets the call/sms volume to a certain volume
- enable the WiFi connection
- start PocketIE
* itunes
i love this one 2, does the following (when I tap on the icon)
- sets the call/sms volume to a certain volume
- enable the WiFi connection
- start Salling Clicker (remote control for installed itunes on my pc)
* headphone
this is the most used one and I start it by simply pressing once on the right softkey button on my Herald:
- sets the volume of the phone ringer/sms low
- starts Coreplayer
Now I don't go DEAF anymore when someone is calling me
Here's the official site, but I really do recommend you get the slightly older version: 2.1.0.558, because it's slightly faster and works beautifully under WM6.1.

Edit: I know this looks like a big advertisement, but I just like the program and want to bring it under your attention and show you the possiblilities
Hiya,
I find it really annoying to go all the way to comm manager and switch bluetooth on when I jump in my car. (And face it, keeping bluetooth on drains battery like crazy)
I'm looking for a simple program that let's me switch between bluetooth "on" and "off" with a single touch. And it needs to be on the today screen or next to the windows/start button.
Anyone know such a program? Tnx in advance
kind regards,
Mark
I use this freeware for XPERIA here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439613
Works well for TouchPro.
I use bt toggle. You can put a shortcut in your start menu and you're two taps away from turning on/off bluetooth. Alternitavely, you can create a voice tag. It's a tiny program and it works great.

Haven't tried the others, but I stopped with this one. It's very cool, opens nothing and is literally one single press to turn it on.
I use SBSH PhoneWeaver, then I have big buttons for Phone, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPRS connection on/off right on the home screen (I don't use TF3D).
Found AEBPlus. It works great. Assigned pressing "hang up button" 3 times to switch bluetooth on/off. http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php And it doesn't use up that much memory.
i used to have the simple shortcuts to simple programs in my program tab
but if you download the diamond action screen it has shortcuts to texts, email, notes, tasks, wifi, bluetooth and others and its real simple i just put it as softkey on main menu

I try it is very good for every thing
Bluetooth on off
Wi Fi on of
Phone reboot , off , screen off
all buttons you have you can make it single press , double , triple , long
So you have for each button 4 function.
Thank you man for telling about this
I just have the HTC Action screen assigned to the left softkey. Pretty easy and fast
This exefile can do lot of things, mainly toggle between off/discoverable(all apps toggles only between on/off). It's enough just to write some commandline parameters into shortcut, while parameter "bsd" is for toggle off/discoverable.
Another thing I made,is the basehue changer while bluetooth is active,so while is off,all it's black, when any other state is,basehue changes to blue. It polls each second to get the state. It's a mortscript file, you can copy into the startup folder.
Enjoy.
