Hi there.
I have two motorola bluetooth headsets (HS801, HS820) but i can't get them paired with my XDAIIi.I also have a bluetooth GPS receiver and no problem!
My XDA doesn´t "find" any of the headsets. Can anyone tell me what might be the problem? Old Radio ROM? My specs are:
ROM 2.06.00WWE
Radio: 1.18.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone,
I have been searching and reading through all the bt and headsets posts today with no result, my XDA IIi connects to the bt handsfree divices, but when calling are receiving a call there is only a small noise but I can not hear anything else. Can anyone help? I have two devices: a Vivanco BT65s and a Eagletec headsets and neither one works!
Thanks!

Hi Bern,
Unsure whether you solved your prob already, but I'm running BCHS_FOR_POCKET_PC_OZONE.ARMV4.zip software, found in a magician thread, for more BT functionality and my BT earpiece works fine. Never tested it without this software so you can always give it a try.
Cheers, M
Can you do a link to where that file is please as I can not find it using the search function. Thanks
Nope,
Due to the limitations of PIE can't do it. It is in the first post of this thread though ;-)

Hi
I have recently upgraded the ROM in my XDA 2i to the following versions:
ROM Version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol Version: 1337.39
ExtROM Version: 1.11.171 WWE
However, with this new ROM my GPS unit no linger functions correctly - the speaker on the XDA 2i becomes disabled and it recognizes the wired GPS unit as a full hands free unit which means that it also tries to connect to activesync which disrupts TomTom. I want to downgrade to the following ROM version:
ROM Version: 1.10.00 WWE
ROM Date: 12/24/04
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol Version: 1337.39
ExtROM Version: (blank)
In other words the original ROM which the 2i was originally shipped with. Does anyone know where i can get this from?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as O2 have said: "We do not support any devices accessories for the XDA 2i and recommend that you contact the manufacturer" so at the moment i am stuck with a very unreliable XDA 2i which i am unable to use
Thanks
Similar Problem
I too have had the upgrade to 1.11.00 WWE installed on my XDAIIi and now cannot connect to the TOMTOM wired GPS device - i am going to try with a Bluetooth device tonight however I dont want to spend another 70 pounds on more hardware.
If someone has a copy of the previous ROM that would be great.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
I have noticed on the TOMTOM website that the Wired GPS device is not Supported by O2 XDA devices - not sure when this changed.
Link to TomTom supported devices on Wired GPS http://www.tomtom.com/products/features.php?ID=100
however the TomTom Bluetooth is still listed as supported by XDA.
I have just loaded the Pug ROM for O2 devices with radio 1.04 ftp://xda:[email protected]_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04_Camera_Fixed.rar
and will be able to advise whether this fixes it tomorrow. Keep an eye on this page
next update
OK so the Pug Rom does not enable the wired GPS reciever. - damn i am going to give a BT GPS device ago tonight. - i have a feeling if we installed version 3.x of navigator then upgrade to 5.x it may work as that is what i did orginially.
I use a wired Haicom HI-204E GPS receiver. and have had no trouble using several ROMs.
Originally my receiver was connected via cheap plugin charger with a ps2 socket for my GPS. Have my XDA2i sat in a TomTom cradle now with an adapter patch lead I made to connect receiver (RJ-11 to PS2f )
Been using PUGs Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed
since mid Feb. 2006
GPS setup in TT as Other Cable NMEA GPS
TT version info
PocketPC device
App version 5.100 (5160)
Free RAM 40.2 mb
GPS driver v1.20
Map: Great-Britain-Map v562
Good luck
i havn't had any problems with any of the upgrades and i use a wired gps as well

I've fixed this problem by turning off the infrared beam in the settings, connections menu. Voila TomTom wired GPS working fine now using version 3.07 Tomtom with GPS 3.07 upgrade. Hope it helps all you others with similar problem after upgrade ?
i hope it does not work as I have just paid for a BT GPS reciever on E-bay and sold my wired one!! thanks to everyone who has conrributed to this thread.
Hi,
Have installed BT A2DP patch and seams to work for my keyboard (Thinkoutside) and ActiveSync plus my GPS (Navman BT). I will now think about getting a stereo headphone set something like Motorola H820 or Blueant X5.
However it seams I can only connect BT devices if the radio is on. There are times when I want the phone off but still be able to use BT.
Is there a setting I am missing or is this how the driver works.
Thanking in advance.
Gordon
Gordon,
it's just one of those interesting quirks - you need the phone on for BT (or wireless LAN) to be on.
Phil
You still may leave screen off. A2DP does not work again after power off. Usual handsfree profile works ok, when incoming call has been made.
where can I find BT A2DP for my alpine?
is there a link somewhere I can't see?, and, then, anyone know some installer/upgrade to go from 1.11.162 WWE to v1.11.171 WWE? I'm going mad to pair the Fortuna clip-on with my Alpine, and seems it doesn't work 'cause BT version on the fortuna is 1.1, on the Alpine is 1.0.0.3900. Is this correct?
thanx everyone, cya
Toobalz;
I'm having the same problem with my O2 BT clip on. I can't pair it with XDAIIi, but it works fine with XDAmini and XDAII.
Does anyone know why???

hey, everyone...I've solved my problems buying a tomtom...I know, it's a defeat, but I've to work faster....
And, for everyone who has an Alpine, I've discovered the TomTomOne car charger is identical, for voltage, polarity and amperage to a its normal AC adapter:
5V . 2A . (+)-o)(-); naturally, you've to unplug the plug from the Ac adapter and to plug it to the car charger.
In sintesi, if you've an Alpine, and buy a TomTomOne,don't you buy the car charger for the Alpine.
Hope so find this usefull, cya
I have a Wizard (Cingular 8125) and a Jabra BT500 bluetooth headset. They paired up okay and I can answer and end calls with my Jabra BT500.
However, tapping / pressing the correct button on my Jabra BT500 does not open the phone voice dialing. In fact, nothing happens when I press the button on the Jabra even though the two devices are paired. Pressing the button multiple times does nothing either.
Anyone have any ideas whether this is a problem with my 8125 or my Jabra BT500? If so, are there any solutions? If not, are there other bluetooth headsets that seem to work correctly. Jabra told me this was common and there is no fix!

Radio Version: 02.25.11

From the HTC website I believe this is the most current ROM version.
Thanks for your help.[/b]
Re: Wizard (Cingular 8125)&Jabra BT500-can't initiate vo
I had this same problem. I went through every jabra headset out there to test and see how I liked them. Anyways -- i couldnt get voice command nor voice dialing to work with the BT500. Take it back and get the JX10

Thanks, I'll try a JX10. Funny thing though, I've got a friend with this same phone on T-Mobile instead of Cingular and a Jabra BT500 and it works! Also, I tried my wife's plain vanilla Motorola H500 and it works fine. Very strange.
MY Jabra BT500 works fine with my 8125. I've hacked the registry to use MS Voice Command instead of the Cyberon Cheezy voice tag dialer.
I've even successfully used Cyberon Voice Commander 1.6 with the BT500.
Yes, activation on button press....
Hi kyphur - for a novice can you give me any instructions on how to do this?
I tried the Jabra JX10 and, unlike my BT500, it seems to work perfectly. I really don't understand why my BT 500 won't work.
Thanks
Hello folks.
I discovered that the BA has BT 1.1 onboard. Now I do have some mobile devices that support BT 1.2. Bluetooth 1.2. seems to work a lot better and doesnt have that much interferance with wifi signals.
Now my questions is what if i try to upgrade my BT Radio? Is it possible to upgrade BT 1.1. to version 1.2? My current BT radio is version 1.15.00 but i dont know if its version 3500 or 3900. I have the latest Helmi'c BA WM5 rom installed.
I read this forum post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=274425
Its all about the BA WM5 Broadcom 1.7.1 Build 3400 Stack. If I install this BA radio is it possible to communicate with BT 1.2 devices?
Greetings Mark
Bluetooth version is a hardware version, not software one, so it can not be upgraded, the 1.15 radio is for the GSM part of the phone, the bluetooth stack is the software that controls the bluetooth hardware, so you may try to change it
Thnx for your help.
The radio stack didnt work and is only working with WM03. Now i have 2 bluetooth icons in my connections menu. Bluetooth is luckly still working!
