Hi,
Have installed BT A2DP patch and seams to work for my keyboard (Thinkoutside) and ActiveSync plus my GPS (Navman BT). I will now think about getting a stereo headphone set something like Motorola H820 or Blueant X5.
However it seams I can only connect BT devices if the radio is on. There are times when I want the phone off but still be able to use BT.
Is there a setting I am missing or is this how the driver works.
Thanking in advance.
Gordon
Gordon,
it's just one of those interesting quirks - you need the phone on for BT (or wireless LAN) to be on.
Phil
You still may leave screen off. A2DP does not work again after power off. Usual handsfree profile works ok, when incoming call has been made.
where can I find BT A2DP for my alpine?
is there a link somewhere I can't see?, and, then, anyone know some installer/upgrade to go from 1.11.162 WWE to v1.11.171 WWE? I'm going mad to pair the Fortuna clip-on with my Alpine, and seems it doesn't work 'cause BT version on the fortuna is 1.1, on the Alpine is 1.0.0.3900. Is this correct?
thanx everyone, cya
Toobalz;
I'm having the same problem with my O2 BT clip on. I can't pair it with XDAIIi, but it works fine with XDAmini and XDAII.
Does anyone know why???
Cheers;

ROM version: 1.11.00 WWE

hey, everyone...I've solved my problems buying a tomtom...I know, it's a defeat, but I've to work faster....
And, for everyone who has an Alpine, I've discovered the TomTomOne car charger is identical, for voltage, polarity and amperage to a its normal AC adapter:
5V . 2A . (+)-o)(-); naturally, you've to unplug the plug from the Ac adapter and to plug it to the car charger.
In sintesi, if you've an Alpine, and buy a TomTomOne,don't you buy the car charger for the Alpine.
Hope so find this usefull, cya

Help, I bought a hbh-600 bluetooth headset but am not be able to connect it to my Qtek 9090. I can find the device and authorise it, but I am not able to connect to the device. Everytim I will connect to the device my Qtek 9090 says: Connection failed...
Help what can I do...
Had this problem yesterday with my step uncle's Harrier, and the HBH-600.. Just took a lot of fiddling around by turning bluetooth on/off, re-pairing, and it eventually worked.
I haven't seen this with my Harrier/HBH-600.. but I have had some general bluetooth issues.. About to try an upgrade to the 3500 build.
Can you tell me specific what you have done? Because I have tried that repairing and Bluetooth on and off also a few times...
Is it the authentification? Or is it something else.
Tnx!
Well, no, not really sorry.. I was just mucking around, because he was in a hurry to leave... It just worked in the end. It may well not be the same problem anyway.. sorry.
the range on HBH600 sucks - mount it on the ear, and put 9090 in your trousers pocket or extend your arm while holding PPC - you will have very poor sound instantly.
Tnx all for the info. I have found the BT-PPC build 3500 patch and my bluetooth headset is working!!!
what's your radio firmware version now ?
Radio: 1.06.00
Bluetooth: BT-PPC build 3500
Hi all,
Dunno about you guys but my new XDA2s is pretty paff when it comes to bluetooth. Scratchy sound, erratic volume, headset disconnecting randomly, poor range, etc etc.
I have used an old O2 G2 headset, a new O2 Bluetrek headset and most recently a Nextlink Bluespoon AX headset. All of them were nearly as bad as each other - except the volume on the AX is far less erattic. However, using them with my PC proved no problem so the XDA2s is at fault here!
I did find that forcing the headset to use headset mode rather than hands-free made a significant difference on the older models, however I cannot manage to force the AX to headset mode in any way (still waiting for tech support on that). The AX is let off though as its hands-free mode is as good as the headset mode on the older models, I just hope it will be even better when I force it to headset (if anyone knows how let me know!).
So - I have tried the following builds with my AX:
Radio 1.06.00 BT 3500 - BAD
Radio 1.06.00 BT 3900 - BAD
Radio 1.08.00 BT 3500 - Better volume and outgoing call, but bad for person on other end of the phone.
Radio 1.08.00 BT 3900 - Pretty much the same, small imporvement for me, no imporvement for other end of the line.
I am hoping we can keep a track of various radio and BT version in this post and try between us to figure out a good combination.
There is an extra audio dll
There is an extra audio dll for bluetooth that fixes some problems posted somewhere else in this forum.
This one fixed bluetooth headset enormous here.
I believe the dll you are talking about adds the high-quality bluetooth protocl, allowing stereo bluetooth heasets to be used for music etc. Does this make any difference to the normal bluetooth headsets though?

Hi,
Not sure how I got mine to work but I am using a Jabra 200 headset and it works great.
I am using a custom image of WM2003SE with the optional BT drivers and so far no problems - I found when I originally had similar issues I had to pair the headset again and then everything was okay (I noted the XDAII asked if I wanted to enable the headset support).
I get the odd problem where the headset icon disappears from the today screen but I found that its still there, just doesn't refresh so you have to tap the area and it comes to life.
The headset answers the calls after 3 rings (the headset creates beeps in time with the ringing) and when I dial the headset switches on after a second of making the call. The only thing I have noticed is that I cannot redial when pressing the button on the headset however it does hangup an existing call.
Cheers,
Godz
Hi finalzero - you say XDAII, do you mean IIs or are you using the II? My old XDAII worked fine - it is just this new XDAIIs that is giving me problems.

Bluetooth
Hi ,
same problem for me ,
Radio 1.08.00 BT 3900 - slightly better but not the best wit Jabra 250 V & Qtek 9090 ,
I installed BA_OEM_AudioGW CAB , downloadble somewhere around , but still problems .
When all of this will end ? Bluetooth is a nightmare !
I've had an XDA2 (several actually and got fed up of them being rubbish so insisted on an upgrade) now got XDAIIs. The bluetooth manager is aweful! Can't connect to my O2 headset, does't work well with TomTom3 and is generally crap!
Logged on to find out if anyone else is having trouble so please it's not just me, now all I need to do is find out how to fix it. I'm not a mega techie (but not too bad with the right support) and wondered if it's possible to use the bluetooth software from the XDA2?
Bluespoon AX
I have the same sort of combination Orange M2000 and Bluespoon AX and have the same nightmare sound quality - using Radio 1.04.00 and BT 3900. The AudioGW patch makes no difference (as posted above it's for headphone solutions).
Would be interested in the info you get back from Nextlink on the way to force the mode of the device if possible. Otherwise it's a complete waste of money as it crackles at both ends.
Nothing back from NextLink - have sent 2 emails. With radio 1.08 it sounds fine to me but the user on the other end reports it still quite bad. Gonna do 1.10 soon and see if that helps...

XDAIIs Bluetooth - upgrade to a Jabra 250
I had similar problems with my bluetooth Jabra 200 so I upgraded to a 250 (the black one) and I didn't have any further problems. The vibrating alert is really neat... 8)
bluespoon AX
while we're waiting for Nextlink's reply - can anyone advise me as to whether an upgrade to the Radio version (I'm only on 1.04) requires a hard reset (and full software re-build) or not? If not - are there instructions on another post that say how to do it??
Upgrading to radio ROM 1.08 or 1.10 may improve your BT performance significantly -- I updated my SX66 to 1.08 a couple weeks ago and my Bluetrek G2 headset now works much better.
Radio ROM upgrades do involve a hard reset & software re-install; this thread is devoted to the 1.10 upgrade -- there's another one in this forum for the 1.08.
Hi
I have recently upgraded the ROM in my XDA 2i to the following versions:
ROM Version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol Version: 1337.39
ExtROM Version: 1.11.171 WWE
However, with this new ROM my GPS unit no linger functions correctly - the speaker on the XDA 2i becomes disabled and it recognizes the wired GPS unit as a full hands free unit which means that it also tries to connect to activesync which disrupts TomTom. I want to downgrade to the following ROM version:
ROM Version: 1.10.00 WWE
ROM Date: 12/24/04
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol Version: 1337.39
ExtROM Version: (blank)
In other words the original ROM which the 2i was originally shipped with. Does anyone know where i can get this from?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as O2 have said: "We do not support any devices accessories for the XDA 2i and recommend that you contact the manufacturer" so at the moment i am stuck with a very unreliable XDA 2i which i am unable to use
Thanks
Similar Problem
I too have had the upgrade to 1.11.00 WWE installed on my XDAIIi and now cannot connect to the TOMTOM wired GPS device - i am going to try with a Bluetooth device tonight however I dont want to spend another 70 pounds on more hardware.
If someone has a copy of the previous ROM that would be great.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
I have noticed on the TOMTOM website that the Wired GPS device is not Supported by O2 XDA devices - not sure when this changed.
Link to TomTom supported devices on Wired GPS http://www.tomtom.com/products/features.php?ID=100
however the TomTom Bluetooth is still listed as supported by XDA.
I have just loaded the Pug ROM for O2 devices with radio 1.04 ftp://xda:[email protected]_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04_Camera_Fixed.rar
and will be able to advise whether this fixes it tomorrow. Keep an eye on this page
next update
OK so the Pug Rom does not enable the wired GPS reciever. - damn i am going to give a BT GPS device ago tonight. - i have a feeling if we installed version 3.x of navigator then upgrade to 5.x it may work as that is what i did orginially.
I use a wired Haicom HI-204E GPS receiver. and have had no trouble using several ROMs.
Originally my receiver was connected via cheap plugin charger with a ps2 socket for my GPS. Have my XDA2i sat in a TomTom cradle now with an adapter patch lead I made to connect receiver (RJ-11 to PS2f )
Been using PUGs Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed
since mid Feb. 2006
GPS setup in TT as Other Cable NMEA GPS
TT version info
PocketPC device
App version 5.100 (5160)
Free RAM 40.2 mb
GPS driver v1.20
Map: Great-Britain-Map v562
Good luck
i havn't had any problems with any of the upgrades and i use a wired gps as well

I've fixed this problem by turning off the infrared beam in the settings, connections menu. Voila TomTom wired GPS working fine now using version 3.07 Tomtom with GPS 3.07 upgrade. Hope it helps all you others with similar problem after upgrade ?
i hope it does not work as I have just paid for a BT GPS reciever on E-bay and sold my wired one!! thanks to everyone who has conrributed to this thread.
I have an Orange SPV M2000 (HTC Blue Angel) device. It will not connect to any bluetooth hands free car kit. (I even have problems pairing it with a bluetooth motorola headset) Having read some of the posts you guys all seem incredibly switched on so think this post may be misguided. However I think that I have tried everything!
ROM; 1.40.00, ROM date, 03/10/05,Operator version 5.40.1.179, Radio version 1.06.02, Protocol 1337.38, EXT ROM version 1.40.179 WWE.
Has anyone got any suggestions for a novice?
Hi,
i think i will buy a Mteor..
I had to upgrade my Blue Angel to latest BT stack to get it paired to my toyota BT car kit.
So naturally i wonder if the mteor will pair with my kit...
Looks like my car supports Bluetooth 1.1, Hands Free Profile 1.0
Would the Mteor be compatable ?
Any expericence ?
Regards
Etienne
Well, the phone is Bluetooth 2.0, & as I understand it, 2.0 is backwards compatable. If the car was 2.0 & the phone was 1.1/1.0 I would advise against it.
I think it would work, have a look to see it other 2.0 phones work with 1.1/1.0 cars.
As always, don't take my work for it, I'm just some guy...
