Blue Angel SLIDER GETTING LOOSER!!!! - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Is there any way you can tighten up the slider of the Blue Angel, because it seems to get loose and looser, is there any place you can tighten it, or is impossible?,,,thank you :?:

Keyboard Loooose
My keyboard is also getting looser all the time, it's only 12mths old and the keyboard has hardly had any use.

I've heard there is a temporary fix (I think at Pocket PC Techs), but it is temporary as it'll get loosen again anyway; the loosening keyboard is a construction error in BA. It is also random; I, for one, use the keyboard a LOT, yet my keyboard slider is still very good, and I have this device since 9 months or so. But my friend's BA, who bought almost at the same time as me, had a really loosen slider after around 6 months.

Here you go...
We have this issue with most of our refurbs. Remove the keyboard and slider unit, use a pair of flat nose pliers and gently bend the black rails toward the outside of the unit. You must go gently here working from center to each end of the rail as a very little goes a long way to tighten up everything. Hope that helps!

Kaiser turns back on again in belt-pocket without a reason.

Hi @ all !
There´s a thing very annoying in the new Kaiser... You cannot use any belt-pocket with magnetic closers !
After setting the phone to standby via one short press on power button, I found it back turned on again, everytime I took it out of the belt-pocket.
First I thought, that this must be the keyboard slide mechanism, cause the phone also comes back, when you slide out the keyboard, but I kept an eye on it, not the move the slider while putting it into the pocket and back out again. Then I thought, that it was the light sensor, but some tests made me sure, that it must be something else.
Finally I found out, that it turns back on again, cause I´m still using the belt-pocket of my old TyTN I with the 2 magnets as closing mechanism... If you try and hold a magnet over the keyboard in the area of S,D,E,X,F or even on the back side in the same area and move it around just a little bit, the phone turns on... Crazy, but true !
Now I know, why they gave that awful new belt-pocket with the tape-closer to the Kaiser...
Hope that helps
Marco
It is partly related to keyboard... it has a magnetic sensor that it is activated when keyboard is released, so the magnet from your holster tricks the sensor into believing keyboard is out, so it activates screen.
I guess thats why they have the velcro closer on the one that is shipped with the phone. This is somthing to consider when buying a nice Piel Frama one.
Absolutely it's the keyboard magnet operated switch that does it. But, I know you can run a magnet (let's say the case magnet ) over the d-pad area (seems to do it on mine) and the Kaiser will turn on. - However, I have been using the TyTn case also and I have not noticed it turning on just by sliding the Kaiser in and out. In fact I have just sat here and put it in and out every which way (for the last ten minutes) and it has not come on.
Maybe your magnets are stronger than mine or your keyboard switch more sensitive? I am also not keen on that "tape" closing on the new case.

lol i wish i would have read that some place, i thought it was the keyboard some switch but didnt think they would use a magnet, it was pissing me off a lot while i was driving, now i know i found on my own, but the magnet that i have is shielded a bit, but still just the right position and it will trigger the switch
I sure hope this was posted some place in a FAQ or wiki, if not it should be and if it was, then shame on me for not reading that part or noticing it
Magnetic sensor via magnet in holster.
Just found out this "feature" with a BB holster...
Has anyone found a way to exploit/use this feature to turn-on the device when removed from the holster?
That is something I always envied with my wifes Blackberry.
I've noticed this too
I have the same problem, but since mine is set not to wakeup when the keyboard slides open I can't see how the magnet could be the culprit.
I had the same problem with my Nokia and Kaiser.....Never thought it was because of the magnet sensor in the device....To tell the truth...I didnt know that it had one inside.....Thanks for the info....
Would it affect the sensor in anyways....if it doesnt, I can actually use this "feature" so my phone is awake each time I pull it out of the belt case......

Loose, wobbly keyboard slider

I got my Kaiser in early November of last year and I've been happy with it overall, but recently, I've been noticing that when i press lightly on the right side of the screen half of the phone, it slides really easily. This is making one-handed use frustrating, because the screen keeps moving around on me. I'm almost certain it didn't do this when I got it, but I could just be noticing it now. Is there any way to make the slider lock into place a little more when it's closed?
Nope this is a thorn in the side of the Kaiser users, The Spring wears out over time and gets loose.

Loose Charging Cover

I've had the g1 since launch and the charging cover is starting to get loose. The clip on the left side of the cover doesn't stay closed anymore and always hangs out halfway.
Just wondering if anyone has the same problem and found a fix.
Fix
OK, so I played around a little bit and realized that the clips on the left and right of the mini usb cover are not really used to keep the cover in place.
To tighten up the cover again I used 3 pieces of scotch tape, layered on top of each other, on the long side of the hexagon shape of the mini usb. Make sure the tape is on there well and wont come off too easily. It has worked so far for me, but don't know how long it will last.
If anyone has any other suggestions, it would be appreciated.
I've been contemplating taking mine off.
I took mine off. No need to open a flap to charge now
Had no probs whatsoever since

Hardware problem (buttons), please help.

over the past few weeks some of the buttons (namely left soft key, up and left) have stopped working, i've tried numerous roms just incase but it's definatley a hardware issue, now, i've dismanted the phone using the diamantos guide to see if anything jumps out at me, gave the phone a damn good cleaning whilst i had the chance, put it back together....but nothing, everything seems to be in order, all components in their rightful place but i still cant work it out, does anyone know if this is a common problem or if theres a fix as i've been unsuccessful in my searches.
actually, i just found the solution and it worked a treat, thanks anyway people.
btw, if anyone would like to know what i did then i'll be more than happy to share the solution.
Hi godofwap,
I have the same problem with a trinity I bought used. Tried to stick some papers under the buttons but that didn`t help so I`m very curious how You managed to get them working again. Hope You find the time to write a short notice.
Have some fine days,

ok, no problem, heres what i did.
before you start please be aware that this is a very delicate procedure and you should take care as this may naff up your beloved trinity.
ok, i first disassembled my trinity using the dimantos guide located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311463,
now, when you get to the keyboard / button pcb take it out if, you look closely you'll notice theres a thin adhesive plastic cover covering the metalic buttons, very very carefull peel this back (i used a sharp knife to get to it), making sure not to completely remove it, try to only expose the underneath of the buttons in question, you'll see that the buttons come away with the plasic leaving the underneath exposed, now, using a cotton bud and some lightly applied alcohol clean the contacts then when all is done, replace the plastic and make sure its firmly pressed back down you may notice it making a different, kind of sharper clicking noise when depressed than before meaning its worked, repeat for all buttons.
i think whats going on here is the gum or glue from the plastic film has "leaked" if you will, onto the plates meaning theres no contact from the buttons, this would also account for the very slight change in sound when you now press the button.
i found this info here http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-289737.html
Nice find mate; sounds like a solution for my problem cause when I got my phone the first I had to do was to disassemble and clean the heck outta it, there was dust everywhere as if the old owner had laid it on the moon for a week. But who thought the buttons are actually separatable... strange technique.
Thanks for the hint, at least now I´ve got something to do over the holidays at my parents-in-law
Once again thanks for Your hint.
The problem with mine was actually not dust and stuff between the two halves but too much pressure by the former owner.
After I had separated the plastic film from the board I saw that there were very deep dents where the pick of the metal discs had pushed the soft pcb material down. So I cleaned them anyway and then reapplied the film with an offset of just a fraction of a millimetre so they make perfect contact with the pcb again.
Every single button again works perfectly now

Tilt slide wear

Hiya,
Is there any way to close the gap between the keyboard and the screen when the phone is closed. It looks as though when it's closed there ae slide springs which keep it together?
Does it appear to be slightly loose - like its lifting off and when you press the top plate it reduces the gap?
I think they all do that - tried to tighten the hinges a bit with the screws attaching the two pieces - really doesn't make a difference. I do think you can also tighten the hinge with the single "hidden" screw which will also tighten the tilt mechanism. Haven't tried that yet - because you have to remove a few extra pieces from the slider piece. Not really sure if it will work - the rails I think have some slack build in to them and the only way to remove it would be to bend the rails which I don't want to attempt.
I also noticed on the new TILT2's there is a ton of floppy-ness when the unit is closed. I passed on upgrading because it felt cheap - the display did it and a new one out of the box did it. Feels like the two pieces when closed are very loose.
