Hi
Has anybody been able to get dial up networking to work on XDA IIi.
i.e. connect a notebook using 'dial up networking' bluetooth profile then use the GPRS connection of XDA IIi to surf the internet on notebook.
I haven't been able to get it to work so far.
Although, I have been able to do it on my MDA Vario
thanks in advance

Hi everyone, does anyone know how to connect the O2 XDA IIi using default software to a 802.11g network with WPA TKIP and Thawte server certificate etc....
I'm unable to connect to my University Wireless netowrk even using socketcom.com Pocket Wifi Companion :-(
can anyone give me a suggestion ?
or do I need update the software ?
thanks
The other thing I can't get to work with my new Vario III is to get it to work as a bluetooth modem with my laptop. This used to be comparatively easy with the Vario II.
The laptop picks up the phone alright, and installs the Bluetooth modem. I note however, that I can't change any of the important settings. For example, it's not possible to enter a modem init string (all blocked/greyed out on that tab).
When I do create a DUN connect, it opens the port, dials *99#, after which it breaks off with "Failed to connect".
Any ideas what I could try? Thanks!
with WM6, you set up a Bletooth PAN (Personal Area Network) - in the Comms Manager you turn on Internet Sharing, then on your PC (or Mac) you should be able to join the PAN from your Bluetooth Explorer... Instructions are in the manual and posted elsewhere on this forum...

Alternatively, you can use the DUN patch. Read my related article in the Wiki.
Hi there, could you pls post the link of the WIKI or the DUN patch ? would be great, thanks

I used to be able to (old PDA with WM5) connect pda to laptop and when Active Sync starts up on the pda, clcik the cancel or disconnect button.
With WM6, how can I do this?
I want to be able to (without any changes each time I conenct) always have my pda be out the internet, either via GPRS (3g) or the internet connection with my laptop.
Any ideas how to do this?

Internet Sharing/Tethering Cry for Help!
I used to be able to connect my laptop PC to the internet using the Internet Sharing application on my AT&T Tilt/HTC Kaiser using the Blackberry Connect wap internet connection. Recently however, I am unable to conenct to the internet on my laptop when using the BBC connection. Regardelss of the BBC version, the Internet Sharing app version, the radio or the rom version this issue persists.
So, my call for help is to ask if there's anybody here on XDA that has played around with ICS, or internet sharing, or BBC (maybe the creator of one of the ICS apps), that can help me figure this out? The last time I could get it to work was on an older Dutty 6.1 rom with the bbc 4.0.0.84 version.
I am willing to donate or whatever, but whatever is causing this issue is killing me b'c now I have to pay for BBC data & email service + Medinet.
Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated. I am not a novice when it comes to CE devices, but the RIL/IPN stuff unfortunately is NOT my cup of tea.
Thanks!
