The BT fix (version 3500) is included plus i think the mic problem has been fixed.

Geovass, please upload this ROM to the FTP of Xxda-developers. I have installed the newest Qtek 9090, but I am still having problems with the GSM connection. For some reason sometimes my Qtek 9090 would not be connected anymore, even though the Qtek shows all green bars. When I try to make a call nothing happens. Only a soft reset helps. Perhaps this new imate Rom would solve this.
Could you tell us what the version is of the radio?
My version shows 1.06.00
Extended Rom is 122.126 WWE

Maybe they are new, cause the date is from 4. Oct. 2005.......

Im guessing the "_ship" part means thats what was shipped with the device.

Most of the available ROMs on the ftp contains the _ship. So i do not believe that it is the original ROM.
But users of the wizards could easily compare it. So this posting was just informatial......

Up to now only the WWE edition is going to be available here.
The question is: is possible/easy to upgrade the rom with a Italian one?
Will the localized Italian rom be updated as frequently as the WWE will?

I have downloaded this ship rom and ran the installer to confirm the version. I got a really strange result that maybe others can tell me what they mean.
On the final confirmation screen before starting the rom update process it states that it is upgrading to model id of Prodigy with Image version 09.
What the heck is this, a beta pre-ship release maybe? The attached image clearly shows a picture of the wizard device so i'm wondering what imate are doing.
Needless to say, there's no way i was going to press next and actually install it as i wouldn't want to risk ending up with a 2 day old paperweight :wink:

Sure. You can use K-Jam or QTek9100 rom on Dopod 838.
Unlocked it first. Backup your original rom with "r2sd all" command.
And try to upgrade with K-Jam or Qtek9100 rom.

Dutch T-Mobile rom vs Dutch Qtek rom

I have an MDA Vario with the Dutch T-Mobile rom , and I want to change that to the Dutch Qtek rom .
Does the performance improve when I change and are there extra features on the Qtek rom ?
Can anyone give me the pro's and con's of such an upgrade ?

... no problems at all... my friends has a Vario and change the OS to Qtek..after the update he also updated the radio rom seperate to 1.12.10 i want to flash tomorrow seperate the radio rom to 1.13.10

Got the QTek NL ROM 1.3.7.10 as well. Works great! Also got the Qtek Radio 1.13.0 flashed seperatley.
I'm sure the latest T-mobile is the fastest at the moment, to bad I want my device to be Duthc
Think we probaly have to wait until march, heard that there will be a major update by than.. ..we'll see...

1.3.7.10 is dutch, Radio Rom is i think portugese but that doesn't matter for the Qtek.
The English WWE ROM i think 1.6.7.0 is the fastest

Tried to install the Qtek ROM, but it said something about the Vendour (don't know if I spelled it correct) wich is T-mobile in my case, and offcourse it needs to be Qtek. Is there anyway to solve this problem?

You need to 'CID unlock' the device first. Look around on this forum. There is enough info to find about flashing your device

Why not working with my device?! It crashes when syncing..
My Vario is slow and crashes too many times (TTWM5), many times it can't read my SD unless I reset the device; so I wanted to upgrade my rom.
But....: I got a real problem when I want to update my dutch MDA Vario....
The ppc is set to basic, factory. I can connect to my PC('s) with my cable. But.... when I start the dutch OR the english update the device crashes after a while. Then connection goes down and 4 big stripes appear to the device-screen. The updateprog on the pc gives an error and the prog closes. I run 2000NT (on both pc's). Who has me the answer? btw: I did already succesfully unlock the device. Fortunately I can soft-reset it without probs.

been out of the loop... i have the first qteks 9100 to come out (1.1.7.5)
figured i'd do a ROM update.... what has everyone been happy with? I'm looking for a stable version.
I'm using t-mo as my provider and my phone is unlocked. Do i need to do the sim unlock stuff? Or can I just straight up do the ROM update?

Try a direct upgrade first - connect device to pc via activesync and click on the exe of the new rom to start upgrade.
remember to backup any important data as all will be lost - just like doing a hard reset.
You may get a cid error - country identifier and if so = follow these Instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=41453

My Wizard is a German version, but when I bought it in HongKong, it is loaded with English ROM.

Radio version: 01.12.10

FTP site has all the ROM's available, check through it and you'll see whats available. Which one to use, matter of choice and need, I'd suggest using the search function on this forum myself

Better you go to the wiki and you can see the roms here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard_Upgrades
Yours is quite an old rom so update to an aku2 rom english - will start with a 2 and WWE will in the name of the rom.
You didnt tell us which make of wizard you have to best advice you on what rom is good for you.

I have the o2 XDA Mini S and I ran the unlock program but when I try to perform the ROM upgrade it tells me that I have an invalid vendor!
Any ideas?

Which browser are you using? - sometimes there is a glitch there. Try disabling firewalls and antiviral on your pc to see if that makes a difference.
Tell me the rom you want and try to get direct link you want.
btw WWE is world wide english - so if you want an english rom go for one of these - if you want the menu's in german go for the german rom.

Thanks. I have managed to download the ROM. Problem lies with the browser. Apparently cannot download with Opera. I used IE instead.
I have successfully upgraded to the new ROM. Seems to be working alright so far.
