Ciao

follow the wiki radio 1.15 upgrade, looks like you cant flash the rom as you are getting an error (and that on either the CE or Ext rom) before you get to flashing the radio.

No Improvements friend
Its still the same radio rom update error 114
What is really happening in this process of radio rom update....
can somebody who knows the process help me.....
Ciao

MDAIIIUser
I've tried all the processess you have suggested for Lixtek in the other thread....
Could it be a hardware problem....
The reason why I am saying this is that I am able to upgrade downgrade the ce and ext rom images but the radio rom alone is giving the problem
what could be wrong....
Please help me out

Well i have seen a lot of roms and read a lot of threads... there is no reason that I can find which would stop you upgrading the ce and ext rom .....but not the radio.... unless.....
You are mixing your rom types, as in trying to flash a type II radio with Type I files.
Best is always to start from the beginning, find a old rom of wiki that is from your carrier, flash it without fixit.bat or any other hacks. If it works then upgrade the radio, if just the ce and ext rom flash then send the bugger in.
Last resort.... flash it from a differnt pc, there was once a guy who for the life of brian could not get part of the rom to flash, ended up being a ubs problem fixed by using some other pc.
Have fun

ERROR 114 – RADIO ROM UPDATE ERROR

I have upgraded my i-mate PDA2K with de file (from i-mate web site) BA_CDL_12203_ESN_177_10600_SHIP.exe a few weeks ago and everything went right, but a few days ago I had problems with the phone (I couldn't receive SMS and no GPRS connection could be stablished) and after a warm start, the blue i-mate screen showed "No GSM" instead "R 1.06.00" so I decided to re-install de update file. This second update process stops with "ERROR 114 – RADIO ROM UPDATE ERROR" when it's trying to update the radio ROM. I have tryed to install the last radio rom version (1.10.00) and the previous one (1.02.00) with no success at all, always the same ERROR 114....
If I install only the ExtROM the device comes to life and the phone seems to work but GPRS doesn't work and when I try to upgrade or simply reinstall only the radio ROM I always get the same ERROR 114....
Could anybody help me to fix this error? I would like to upgrade to the latest version and get my PDA up and everything running.
Thanks a lot.
yes please any body say why Error 114 ?
I cant update my IMATE T-MOBULE with USB, I see error 114 in differend percetanges
thx
Popito
1) Have you tried the 1.12 of wiki and have you fixed it with the fix.bat as per getiting started on wiki ?
2) are you saying that the install of the BA_CDL_12203_ESN_177_10600_SHIP.exefails even though you were able to instal it in the past.

PLEASE HELP!!! i need help upgrade to the New Radio 1.13.00

Please i need help to upgrade to the new radio rom. i have a siemens sx66 from cingular. i tried to upgrade it but i always get an error.
Hi aih1977,
Please read the wiki. Cheers ^^
Hi khngaroo
i did but i still get an error
Same issue here
Hi guys,
Actually, I have the same issue. As far as I could see, the Wiki doesn't address the "123: Radio file checksum error" that I receive when following the directions. I follow the directions for using the downloads which doesn't go, then I use the files from the Siemens SX66 Upgrade as suggested.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
ever thought about reading the other threads ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=23814
Hum
Lets see the wiki 1.40 upgrade is in the first place a TPYE II upgrade.
Now if you spend sometime and READ the page you will see that there are 2 ways of doing a 1.40 upgrade. One is the whole rom in its type II format the other is just the CE and the radio Type I.
How ever if you don't read the page and think you are got it all worked out then you use the fast option, thats the MA_noID tool (Type II), then download the radio 1.13 which Is a type I but who cares about that any way....then you run the bugger and get a checksum error what the hell have I done now error.
Please correct me if I am wrong so that I can correct the wiki page.
MDAIIIUser,
Yes, I have thought about reading the other threads. What was not obvious to me was that I need to upgrade to the 1.40 ROM to be able to upgrade to the 1.13 Radio. Forgive me if I missed this.
Thanks for pointing this out. I'll start over and review all the 1.40 ROM threads.
lungbutter
You dont need to upgrade to CE 1.40 for the radio 1.13.
Just go to wiki and follow the radio upgrade page. It worked for me and many others.
Now if you want to upgrade to 1.40 then do that also on the wiki page, this will however give you the radio 1.12. (unless you read the whole of the page and understand the getting started section of wiki as in how to use fix.bat)
i tried everything can someone set up the files and link it so i can download it. i think im doing something wrong.
Can you click on the link in my signature?
Arg! Lost my post twice.
Anyhow, MDAIIIUser,
Ok. So the 1.40 ROM is not needed. That was my initial impression. I thought you were referring to reading the 1.40 ROM threads.
I also saw that many users were able to upgrade with no problems. That's why I was suprised when I received the checksum error after reading the 1.13 Radio threads and exactly following the Wiki several times before I gave up. I must have missed something because it seemed like the Wiki steps should've worked no problem.
I haven't found anyone posting that has upgraded the radio on a Siemens SX66 yet. I'm wondering if it's Siemens-related which is why I jumped on aih1977's thread (sorry ).
I'll start over and review the threads and directions, etc.
Thanks for your reponses.
lb
so you are saying that
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.13_Upgrade
does not work for you as you have a SX66.
This could be due to the fact that your device has no camera and the header of the rom is for a camera.
I have never read about having to fix the header for a radio upgrade, its a first for me but I can learn.
Please confirm
1) By following the link above I get an error
2) the error I get is the following
3) My rom at the moment is.
The new Radio ROM does work on a SX66 if you folloe the directions. If you have an issue use the upgrade files that you used to upgrade 1.40. Your going to get an error the 1st go around but then it will run smoothly the 2nd try.
MDA,
I'm running 1.13.00 radio on my SX66...
-Chris
Dear MDAIIIUser,
Correct me if I am wrong. All this while, from what I've read through the forum, my understanding is that MA_NoID can only be used to upgrade type II ROMs. If so, I must confess that I've upgraded my radio to 1.13 (type I) with MA_NoID... And it worked... Any clue?
Cheers ^^
Ok i just want someone to help me with upgrading the radio and if someone out there upgraded the radio please link it or pm me with the files that you used to do it.
Thank you.
MDAIIIUser,
Okay, I was able to get the radio stack upgraded to 1.12. Here's what I did. I'm sure it's pretty ugly and probably not the easiest way but:
Followed the Wiki again with errors as follows:
After step 7, running BaUpgradeUt I received the "Error 100: Model ID Error".
After step 5 of the second set of instructions, I received: "Error 123: Radio Image File Checksum Error". No joy.
So I then took the iMate 1.40 ROM image and extracted the files, deleted the ms_.nbf and nb_.nbf and ran MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe. It errored with Error 120: Country ID Error. The phone was still in USB mode so I reran MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe again and it successfully updated the Radio to 1.12. I tested the phone calling my voicemal with no problems.
I then replaced version 1.12 with the 1.13 version. I ran BaUpgradeUt.exe and recieved the "Error 123: Radio Image File Checksum Error" (this is using the files from the 1.40 ROM with the 1.13 radio file). I then tried running MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe again. The device software update utility showed no information in the from or to sections of the dialog box. It doesn't throw the phone into USB mode and after a minute or so it offers congratulations thinking it upgraded the phone.
I then went back to the 1.13 Radio files I downloaded and ran MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe. I received the Error 100: Model ID Error".
I reran MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and received an error that it coundn;t find the ruu.conf file so I renamed the htcruu.conf and htcruu.dll ruu.conf and ruu.dll. I reran it and it would attempt to update the radio, then timeout. I received a communications error (which I didn't record) then tried to soft reset the phone. It was stuck in USB or Serial mode. Cold boot no worky either.
I then reflashed back to 1.12 successfully. I will try to update to 1.13 later tonight or tomorrow.
Here is my phone info. before the update:
Siemens SX66 Cingular
Model No: PH20B1
ROM Date: 01/21/05
Radio Version: 1.02.10
Protocol Version: 1337.35
Ext. ROM Version: 1.33.110 WWE
Thanks for the responses. I'm sure that there's an easier way but I'm happy to be at least 1.12.

Edited: Type on filenames.
God are we having fun.
And Boy am I lost.
This is what I can work out.
You flashed the i-mate rom 1.40 radio 1.12 got errors and re ran it it was fine. Thus you have a 1.40 with radio 1.12
Now you are stuck. you want to flash the radio 1.13 (Type I) using the wiki info and you get error that tells me that you have the wrong device. The file is for a device with a camera you dont have that.
You try the MA_tool which wont work as its for type 2 and gives you a checksum and your stuffed again.
You seem to be the first person that has come up agaisnt this thus we need to upddate wiki with new info.
I have a problem with this as the 1.12 was a type II to Type I convert that I made, nobody had a problem with that before.
So as I asked you to confirm what you have and you have not done that I will ask again.
Please confirm

MDAIIIUser,
Sorry for the confusing post. I wanted to provide some detail. Answers are as follows:
1) Yes.
2) ..."Followed the Wiki again with errors as follows:
After step 7, running BaUpgradeUt I received the "Error 100: Model ID Error". After step 5 of the second set of instructions, I received: "Error 123: Radio Image File Checksum Error".

ROM date: 01/21/05
Radio version: 1.12.00
Protocol version: 1337.42
ExtROM version: 1.33.110 WWE
I believe that I don't actually have the 1.40 ROM. From the directory in whcih I decompressed the iMate 1.40 ROM (PDA2k_WWE_14000_176_11200.exe) I removed the ms_nbf and nb_.nbf files and left the radio_.nbf file, which I believe will only flash the radio, then updated.
Is that less confusing?
Thanks,
lb
aih1977,
We are actually trying to determine what the issue may be to update your radio on the SX66. Hang in there!

ROM Upgrade help needed. (I have read all sections)

i wonder if anyone can help me.
i got a Vodaphone VPA III (PDA2K) from Germany.
Device Data:
PH20B2 B 2 GER R VODAP102 1.40.01 0 1 1.40.236 1.13.00 13.00
When I try to upgrade using the i=-mate or any other rom i get .ERROR 123 Radio Image File Checksum Error
Does anyone out there know how to flash it with WWE English???
I want also to install the Arabic after the WWE.
reg
If you are getting a radio checksum error then your radio file is corupt or you are using the type I files on a type II rom.
Follow wiki instructions and post what you did, pwhich rom you used and your error.
ROM Type I or Type 2
i think i used a type 1 rom.
PDA2k_WWE_14000_176_11200.rar is the file i used.
how do i upgrade to type 2 rom??? all the roms available seem to be type 1.
my device data are: PH20B2 B 2 GER R VODAP102 1.40.01 0 1 1.40.236 1.13.00 13.00
Does the PH20B2 mean i have to use a type 2 rom???
reg.
May be you should try not to flash radio?
Just delete radio_.nbf and try to upgrade again.

yes, he is using radio 1.13, which is best IMO
tried it. no luck
ok, here is what i did:
1. upgraded my old rom to the Vodaphone 1.4
2. Vodaphone rom is very slow. tried to get the WWE rom
3. performed all steps (device info etc...)
4. Connected the unit and got a Language error.
5. run the FIX.Bat
6. Got the Error 123 Radio Rom
7. Tried to delete the Radio file and upgraded again
8. get the Error 122 Extended Image file Checksum Error
Is there any way to just "start over" and get the old WWE rom back, or do i have to live with the Vodaphone German Rom????
P.S. I have read that there is a special procedure for PH20B2 upgrade, but i cant find it. Do you know where it is???
i give up
i am tiered of it. i just flashed the rom with W5
that worked and i like it. it is slow but ok.
i too have the same problem with PH20B2. You can help to find to me suitable ROM for translation from German? Please help. In fact there are at a forum experts? Or it not a forum of the help?

rom update error...it starts to flash but spits out a error?how can i fix that?
You have to be more precise. Rom you asked it made for Polish edition of MDA3 (for Era GSM network; ROM is in english). It won't flash without "a bit of fight" on any other device (because of CID check - for this ROM I think it should be T-MOB009). I don't know which country had T-MOB003, but it wasn't Poland/Era GSM.
Please tell us, what would like to get, we will try to help you.
If you just want to know how to get rid of CID-check problem, read wiki. There is information how to modify ROM file to your hardware CID and also you can find upgrade tool that skips CID check.
t-mob003 is nl..99% sure...
PH20B 0 B ENG G T-MOB003 1.06.00 0 0 1.06.118 1.00.00 00.00
this shuld be mine?!?i tried to remove the cid...nothin hapend
its t-mobile.nl btw but youre ms_ work'ed thou
only missing a radio
Can;t you just use official shipped upgrade for Tmobile NL? it's really new (as for WM2003).
From Wiki: T-Mobile NL; WWE; T-MOB003; 1.42.00; 1.42.119; 1.13.00;
You have even the best (for me) radio 1.13 (newest is 1.15, but I had some doubts about this one).
Link here: http://www.zshare.net/download/22756005f8e7c9/
Consider also upgrading to WM5.

error 114: radio rom update error?!
help pliz
why does BaUpgradeUt recognize my roms but the no id dosent??
ROM version: 1.06.00 ENG
ROM date: 08/05/04
Radio version: 1.00.00
Protocol version: 1337.30
ExtROM version 1.06.117 WWE (anyone know what the WWE means?)
Bluetooth: BT-PPC/PE Version 1.0.0 Build 1900
this is/was my original rom!
Step after step:
1. Error 120 (according to google) means country error - CID lock seems to work, and yout device just seems NOT to be T-Mobile NL; WWE; T-MOB003
2. For error 114 just use wiki and try to go through procedure desctibed there http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.15_Upgrade and report results.
3. To load ROM to your device that isn't made for it, just use MaUpgradeUt_noID.ZIP (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_1.42.00_Upgrade)
4. "why does BaUpgradeUt recognize my roms but the no id dosent??" - this I really don't uderstand. Both version can read the same rom files if this is what you ask. They just ned to be in the same folder as the exectuable.
1. look i'm not a noob...
2. i cant run the device info on my pda...wont start?!
3. i get the radio error after 7% of flashing
4."why does BaUpgradeUt recognize my roms but the no id dosent??" i can read or? sinply the no id dosent recognize my roms...
5. i even tryed to modify the roms via dos...
help???
1. We'll see ;P
2. You mean GetDeviceData.exe? Have you read http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_GettingStarted Or you mean that device is dead and that's why you cannot start anything? Please, be precise.
3. This we know, but it doesn't bring any new info. We need error codes, anything.
4. "does not recognize rom" - but you mean nk.nbf files, or the device itself?
5. You mean you tried to modify device data in nk.nbf in command line (this is not DOS, btw) using the data you don't have (as I understand from 2)
SO: Please be precise and explain again now, what is the problem, step after step.
1. hehe you got a point there
2. yes i have red everithing! i can start cab-s...can run the unlock progi...but the device info not(and some other progs)...i can upload any ms-s!!!thats interesting!
3. i only get the 114 error 4 the rom...after 7%...so it starts...(on the pda is only the bootloader text) and no % are counted...my ges is that it only tests the rom...?! for the nk...after a while at 0% ist spits an error: canot upload ce flash rom...and so on...an the standard "do it again" message...(big help)
4. when i uload wit the no id another ms...i can see my ce flash vers...an the ms i want to upload...after that i have the ce flash and the ms...so that works fine?!
5. yes but i didnt say its dos...i sayd in the dos and not cmp im studiing computer sience thatfor i'm not a nob...and the answer is yes i tryed to modify the device info, language and operator...but had no sucses...atlest i dont know if i hited the ride info...canot upload over the maupdate...and the no id doesent recognise the roms(hehe now thats funny isn it?) =)
edit: a big sry on my english...its realy not my 1. language...my 2nd 2 its my 3rd...and i was typing damn quick...so sry 4 the problems...and a big tnx 4 the interest in solving my problem(didnt thank you 4 that)

Failed ROM update - Please help

Hello,
for some reason i have updated my XDA IIs with the Helmi_BA_WM6 Rom. The flash was strange and started with part3 instead of part1. After the first reboot nothing worked properly so i tried to flash it with the original ROM which was on it previously getting the error message "error 120 country id error".
I decided to try it then again with the Helmi ROM but i keep getting the error message "error150 : Rom upgrade utility error" and i get told that this ROM was not designed for my device even if i flashed it with it hours ago.
Anyone got an idea what to try?
Thanks
After reading a bit more and running the getdevicedata.exe this is what i get
P H 2 0 B W W E AT%CID? 5 . 6 0 . 0 0 1.12.00 % 4
There are some "cubes" there aswell which i can't copy and paste. Any idea what to do? Anyone? Does not even accept the stock ROM anymore.
U Cant Try Again With using MA Upgrade No ID
Just keep retrying with MA_Upgrade_No_ID. If not - try to flash from SD Card.
anybody knows how to flash rom from sd?
any findings?
