Hey man whats up,
Im also in HK and thinking about ordering my TYTN II from device wire. However I just got an email from expansys Hong Kong. They claim they will have the device in stock next week and they quoted me a special price of HK Dollars $6100 which includes delivery! Also they say that it will come with a 1 year HK warranty!
So now im so confused with what to do! Just spoke to device wire in the UK and they said they have the TYTN II in stock now and can ship it out today to me! But if i order it from them ill be paying like HKD $ 1500 more (About $200 US) And also will have to rely on the UK Warranty!!!

it might be cheaper but i will really hate to pay a few hundred less to then wait for a 'not in stock' order. i will check with them first and make sure my delivery date is confirm before paying. i chose to get it from devicewire.com coz they have it in stock and ready to ship on the spot thru the phone call i made to them. they charged me UK37 pounds for the DHL delivery. i will post when i get the phone so that u will know how long it took DHL to deliver to hkg.

I sent you a PM. thanks
sale canceled
im sorry but it seems the price range i was looking to sell the fone for was not met
"I'll pay fifty dollars for one."
What do you guys suppose the average re-sale price for a tilt is?
Heck when I sold my old 8125 I was able to get $200 for it ( just the unit, battery and charger) and they are still selling close to that.
I freaking love my tilt and if I ever had to part with it for a umm..maybe a Xperia or Diamond pro, then I would hope I could at least get $200 for it.
It's the first time I am posting this kind of thread... But I would like to avoid others to run into the same problems as I did
Since I live in Asia I thought that for repair/replacement issues I'd better order my phone in the region. I picked Expansys HK since they seemed to have a good reputation
The original purchase went well, I got delivered quite quickly and was very happy about the service (Sending email when goods are shipped, etc, etc...)
The problem is after only 2.5 months of usage my HTC Touch Pro 2 failed on me: the screen was scrambled (white, red and blue dots all over the screen). This without any particular reason (I treat my phone correctly). The phone was still working, but definitely the graphic output was dead. I could receive calls though and output to an external screen
After only 2.5 months of use, without any bad treatment of the phone you just think "**** happens, just bad luck, I'll ship it and should get back quickly another unit or a quick repair"
I waited 2 months. I had to call and email several times to push and get feedback. I the understood the phone was shipped from Expansys HK to Expansys UK. Then Expansys UK snet it to HTC UK. Where the phone was probably shipped back to China... (This I dont know, just personal speculation). I cant believe it takes 2 full months to fix a phone. Maybe expansys let it rot somewhere and only woke up after several complains. Maybe it actually needed 2 months of manpower to fix (In which case I'd say that HTC had better give me a new one)
Anyway terrible management of the issue. Bad communication with the customer with no care at all (btw what I am supposed to do for 2 months without a phone...). I received my phone today with not even a short letter of apology for teh 2 months delay, or explanation of what went wrong with the phone (I guess I deserve this at least. I paid 800 USD a few months earlier for taht phone no ? Just the phone simply put in a tiny bubble bag. My screen protector is torn at several angles, I'll need to buy a new one. Expansys didn't even think as a "present" to put one to replace the one that was scrapped (By them ? By HTC ?). HTC happily upgraded to Win 6.5. Cool ! But all my contacts, emails, settings, etc... were erased
What to say ? Nothing... Just don't buy from there or if you do cross fingers your phone won't break. Maybe I am too harsh, maybe you get the same experience with other shops... I just know my next purchase wont be from there (My previous phone was an HTC Hermes bought in Japan, I had issues once, it took 1 week to fix. Night and day...)

I bought my TyTN in Switzerland (not Expansys), after one month my cam had problems so I sent it for repairs. I had to wait for one month untill they sent it back. As far as I could see, device was sent to England for repair and then sent back.
Cheers

hi~
thanks for reporting on us the expansys, but it make me WILL buy one from them.
Now it's 2020, I wanna a redmi note 9 pro (india) aka redmi note 9 s (global), codename curtana.
In hong kong we only have joyeuse. in which it's less popular in XDA, as curtana is sell in india and outside india,
yet joyeuse is someplaces + not in india.
expansys is almost the only way I can buy a curtana, with some qurantee.
1. you quranteed expansys ships good product AT first at least. Hope it's sealed, look brand new and not touched
by others
2. you quranteed they provide repair service.
For the duration, it's reasonable,
I live in hongkong which is 1 hr far from china,
but at one time I sent a US 100 tablet to another dealer and send back to China,
it DID take a WHOLE MONTH.
it's the speed for repair.
two months for you is reasonable, as you see 1hr from china need 1month period.
It's a little bit overpriced for me however.
in HK the joyeuse cost usd200, with 1 yr warranty.
expansys curtana cost usd200 but only 6mo warranty, they charge u usd30 more for a total of 1yr warranty.
anyway thx for the report on expansys

Well it's been 11 years... I have no clue how they currently perform.
I live in HK too and there are now a lot of other convenient shops here anyway. Also international shipping has become cheaper and much more convenient so lots of options these days to order a phone or a tablet.

Hi,
I ordered a Nexus 4 from Handtec on the release day. The amount was withdrawn from my credit card immediately.
A couple of days ago my order was cancelled and I got a refund. However due to conversion rates I lost 20 EUR.
This is not a big deal but the explanation from handtec was that it's nothing they can do about it.
1. They can deliver what I ordered. Do not take orders for products they can't deliver.
2. Do not withdraw the amount until the item has been shipped.
When I sent the above they answered by closing my support ticket. Disturbing!
I can live with this but it's a matter of principle. I will not order anything from Handtec again and I would recommend everyone to stay away from Handtec.
BR/Svanteson
That's the risk when buying in other currencies. The opposite happened to me, it's just the way money works.
The companies are only obligated to make the refund in the currency they operate with, and the amount they charged, so...

Currency trading FTW!
Bad Experience with Handtec
Shortly before Christmas 2012 I purchased a (alleged unlocked) Galaxy S3 from Handtec. This was the fourth phone I had purchased from them and until then having had no problems had no reason to contact them after purchase.
The phone was set up for Virgin Media Internet France (which took a factory re-boot to uninstall). The phone, from what Samsung, Virgin Media and others told me was that it was most likely that it had been previously installed with a Virgin SIM card – a French one at that! The phone had been set up in French, the instructions were in French and it had a continental plug. It is my opinion that it was purchased by Virgin to be sold as a locked phone through their French outlets (which went bust last week) and that job lots were sold off to wholesalers.
The person I spoke to at their call centre told me that I should have been told it was an import (definitely not told!!) and I should have looked on the web where it was displayed (I placed the order by phone). The manager was off hand and I was left with the definite impression that it was “We don’t really care about your problems”.
Would I recommend them? Before this I had done so but not anymore – my advice is to pay a little more and purchase it from a store where you can go back and see them face to face.
I had thought of reporting them to Trading Standards but, hopefully, it this makes someone think twice about buying from them then they will have lost not only my custom but others.
This is a fresh thread as this issue was getting lost in the UK thread.
CPW Offered £375 trade in but if you had a note 8, they offered an additional £200 trading making it £575 (Math good huh?!).
This made the largest note 9 512mb an affordable £524. An attractive proposition to many. Myself included. I certainly would NOT have upgraded to the note 9 from the note 8 based on the lower offer as there is little differentiator between the 2 phones. This was clearly the best deal available pre order.
However many note 9 buyers who have returned their note 8 are not receiving £575 only to be offered £375, or for those who took a screen shot of the extra £200 being offered £530.
Not sure what CPW are playing at but this is an issue where I'm sure trading standards might be interested and of course the media if this isn't resolved swiftly. In my mind this is a break in contract and loses the faith of CPW customers.
Stories here please.

Just received £530 as predicted even though the trade in offered £375 plus £200. I have raised a complaint via the online email form. I was told that the screen shot I sent shows I was offered £375 and that my case will be raised with their Trade In team. I'll chase again today. Last phone I buy from the CPW group.
Managed to avoid this trouble but hoping my experience adds to the knowledge base:
I was quoted £575 total online trade in for my Note8. Bought the Note9 online, delivered to store and collected - no problems so far.
A few days later I received the pathetic jiffy bag to send the Note8 back in. Immediately got cold feet and made inquiries with CPW web chat and telephone contact center. Long story short was that to get the full £575 I had to post it back to them but a store manager may authorise the return through the store.
I went to store and followed the advice of the web chat team - ask for the trade in to be accepted in store. The store manager refused so I then said 'here, have this Note9 back as I want an immediate refund'. This was done in a few minutes and I walked away with my Note8 unmolested.
On Thursday 30th Aug I went to another CPW store and asked for a trade in against the 512gb Note9. They immediately offered £550 off the Note9 and would order one in. Received it next day and a happy outcome for me.
Hi - thanks for starting this thread as its useful to keep a track of issues with CPW!
I also pre-ordered with CPW and bought a sim free phone with them - i just spoke to their customer service team who told me that sim-free purchases are not eligible for the additional £200 trade in!! Has anyone experienced this too? Luckily i've screenshotted my trade in so will have to raise a formal complaint if they dont resolve but just wanted to make those on this forum aware that the customer service team arent quite sure of the facts.
On a separate note, have those that ordered sim-free got their wireless charger yet? I still havent got mine and they wont tell me if its been dispatched yet.
The customer service at CPW is awful and I wish i'd just bought through Samsung..... the only plus is that the phone is amazing (I just moved across from the iphone!) and wish i'd moved across sooner!

Hi all. I went into my local CPW in Burton on Trent yesterday and traded in my Note 8 and received £550.00. I paid £349.00 for the outright purchase of the Note 9 and walked out with it within 30 mins. My Note 8 had to be tested and reset

me too. Idiots.
Both my online and in store Note9 purchases with £200 extra trade in were on sim free.
Sad to say that you can see why high street retail chains are closing down. CPW and others just can't operate a digital and bricks and mortar businesses as a unified business model. All very sad.
Now they've said whatever the trade in team offer (? what like £575 as advertised!) the social media team will bring it up to value offered, so long as the phone was working there shouldn't be a problem. However its now Tuesday and I logged this on Saturday (sent the phone 8 days earlier)....
JAH You are right about firms failing. I wonder how this crew ever stay afloat sometimes.
My problem with CPW was I ordered my N9 upgrade on the phone and was told I could get an extra £200 on top of the £250 for my S8+. I clarified several times that I could take it to the store for the trade-in. I then was told it was only available for online or in store upgrades and not on the phone! So after complaining and having my telephone call listened to it was agreed I could take it to the store for £450.
Today I go to the store to be told my S8+ has screen burn and they will knock £120 off!! So I decided I'll try taking it to Samsung for an in warranty repair of the screen before going back to CPW!!
12 days (10 working days) into my phone being received by CPW and not a sniff of payment yet. Their website says payment will be made in 3 days of receipt. Appreciating they may have an influx taking longer, 12 days is taking the p....
They been informed of my displeasure this morning.
Still advertising the £200 extra deal. Anyone wants to check the terms click here:
https://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/trade-in.html
Bought mine in store in Doncaster. Fab service and no hassle at all. Got full value plus the extra £200 for my S8+ and even got to keep it until the Note 9 arrived. Picked my new Note up at 9.15 on release day.
Service couldn't have been better. Top marks to Jenna and Nat who clearly knew what they were doing.
I'm still waiting to see what I get for my trade in. They received the phone last friday, so hopefully any time now they will send me the money. I have a screenshot/ chat exert from their guy that i'll send if it goes wrong.
I wonder how much money is wasted by CPW with dealing with customers to rectify problems and mistakes of their own making. Members here could run a better operation.

Should have bought in store.
Hi guys,
I did a similar thing earlier this year with my other half's Galaxy S9. I traded in a Galaxy S7 and they were offering an additional £100 at the time. I received payment for the value of the S7 then a few days later the extra £100 was paid in separately. I traded in a Note 8 this time for the Note 9. I phoned them up and they said it was £350 so I said that I was offered £375 + £200, the lady put me on hold and then took my card details and said it will be done in separate transactions, £25 then £350 then the additional £200 after that. I've got a screenshot of the deal £375 and another one with the extra £200 with my order number so they can't argue otherwise.
Edit:
The lady said that they've had a few calls about this issue today and that it has been escalated so I think it's just a mistake or at least I hope it is.
Just my 2p worth;
I went into store and pre-ordered the Note 8, traded a Note 8 I paid £370 for and got the £575 knocked off the Note 9 straight away so I had £324 to pay towards. I got the Note 9 and the wireless charger delivered to my house on release day but I ended up selling the Note 9 on eBay as I didn't realize CPW didn't do the Dual sim version. Staff at the Trafford store were a complete shower of ****e though when I went in with a query about the sims. I used to work at carphone back when I was 17/18 (them were the days!) but the customer service now is absolutely shocking and customer support over the phone is even worse!
I would never purchase anything high value from CPW, in fact I cant see any good reason to purchase anything off them full stop, amazon ftw.
My mate purchased one online with CPW and has recently sent his Note 8 to the trade in center in Newark UK, it arrived yesterday and even though he had it reserved at £375 + £200 they have told him it is valued at £350 (the today price, not holding the price it was reserved at), after some arguing they have raised £25 to his bank (supposedly, if that ever shows up) and said that the £350 will be paid in a few days and the £200 additional will follow after "3/5 days" (he isn't holding out much hope, sounds like a cop out, but the phone calls are recorded supposedly they have made notes on the system). I will report back once all is paid.
No signs of the wireless charger on the online order btw, they told him this arrived 14 days after the phone to ensure the phone isn't returned (sounds like another CPW lie)
Good luck guys
