I couldn't find a CAB that would install all the latest versions of the Windows Live apps (Messenger, Search, and Hotmail), so I made my own.
UPDATE 5/14/08 - Latest versions of all Live programs, and bundled installers here:

hhaha, well i'll be damned. they actually update it the day after i gripe about it being a "2007" version for so long. they added some cool new stuff, like their "wikipedia" search under collections, viewing lat and long, and you can enable full screen now...i wonder what google is going to do when they update theirs.

Yeah I like Windows Live Search (Mobile). Seriously if you live in the US or UK, it beats the **** out of google maps. New version looks good, glad that they're working on updates. Anyone have any luck with the Flickr: Latest Photos?

Yep sure do, start>settings>system>external gps.

make sure box is checked.

Does anyone know if the latest version of Windows Messenger has offline IMs and mobile IMs? For example, can you leave an offline message to someone. Or, if someone has messenger set up to recieve their IMs on their phone, can you send an IM to them via Windows Messenger on your phone. Both of these, you can't currently do.

Is anyone else finding a drastic reduction in battery life after installing windows live search? Mine has gone down by about 2/3. I cant get more then a day out of a fully charged battery now!
I think it has something to do with me always being connected to HSDPA/3G? Dont spose anyone has any advice?

If you have a data connection open all day, especially on HSDPA/3G, then you're definitely going to suffer with battery life. Disconnect your data connection if you're not using or use a tool such as Schap's Advanced Config to auto disconnect data.

I have installed the CAB without uninstalling flashlite 2.1 and it is working pretty good. my only gripe is everytime i click on a flash activeX componant the virtual keyboard pops up
using the latest opera build and running TLR3 rom.
Anyone else given it a go on the diamond?

unfortunately yes. <--- using flash 7
doesn't work for me i installed flash 3.1 lite, and rest the device, then if i have the 'enable plug-ins' box ticked in advanced settings the browser just crashes when ever i load up a page with flash like youtube. and if i have plug-ins disabled well then flash just doesn't work...
i am using TLR3 and have opera build 1522.
any ideas...

Tried it on Diamond100 with swiftblade6.0 and Opera Browser 9.5 Build 1938. No effect what so ever. I installed the flash on my 4Gb -memory. Any advice how you got it working? [ note no flash was on my device]
I installed it to my device memory to get it working. I could not get nullkeyboard to work though
well, it works on my vogue, really buggy, however its better than the flash support we had b4.
best view (with least buginess) is in opera (uncheck mobile view) as it seems to not have too much of a problem with playing flash videos when they are a fairly small size, but when you zoom in, in or around the flash video, thats when you'll have some issues

I have tried to install My_Flash3_1 and Dvha79AdobeFlash3.1 plugin. but it does not work!
With Opera 9.5 Build 1938 the flash site work partially, for some sites, we can see only the top of the page. Completely useless for Flash sites.
For example, you can not play online at www.loterie.ch. He said that flash is not installed !

works on my touch diamond. I have the same problem with the keyboard popping up but better than a site not working. There are some flash sites that dont work but I think that is because the site checks for a particular version of flash (eg version7) and simply does not send the flash content if it cant find it.

The roms are specific for polaris, the cab file you just install (copy to device and double click the file) on any device, the cab is more to play with, Roms with it cooked in should be out soon.

touchflo starts it runs F**king great.

I just test everything and it all works fine.
except for the album search program that is missing to view pics as i said above already. the music tab works fine for me, the map search function works fine(u need googlemaps installed if u dont have it installed already), the people part works fine, I'm able to add a contact and a picture.
it might not be fully supported for your Tmo Wing

This version of Footprint is based on.......HTC_Footprint_1.01822.3925 (This is the 2D Manilla version, but will work with TF3D)
I have done some modifications to make this work on my Fuze, but it should work just fine on the Touch Pro, or Diamond. Currently this version does NOT have the "Footprint Tab" on the home screen. I don't have lots of time on my hands so bear with me on updates. If anyone wishes to step in and modify it more, its all yours.

The uncompressed files are the larger of the two also the compressed files are filed as "compressed". There is no difference between the two so choose the compressed file unless you have issues then revert to the uncompressed file.

I believe it's the new HTC Footprints app. It uses GEOTagging on your photos to help allow you to track when and where they were taken easier.
For the record.
Working on:
Stock ROM on a AT&T Fuze does work.
Conflippers ROM on a Alltel Touch Pro does work.
GC's 2.1.4 ROM on a Sprint Touch Pro does work.
Merdinh 3.2 ROM on a Sprint Touch Pro does work.
PROven 1.4a ROM on a AT&T Fuze does work.
Stock ROM on a Sprint Touch Pro does work.
Not Working on:
Custom ROM on a GSM Diamond does not work. <Xboxmod tried 4 different ROM's>
Lantis OS 3.01 ROM on a Touch Pro does not work.
As I get more information, I'll update.

So if we have TouchFlo3D installed, then we shouldn't try it? I was thinking its a standalone Install?
I could be wrong, but I don't think there is even an actual TF3d version of "Footprint" and is only in 2D.
This cab will work on TF3D or 2D. It does NOT include the "Footprint" Tab on the Home screen though, so NO its NOT a full Manilla install. This is simply a standalone cab. Shortly you will see it built into some ROM's.

Ok I tried it, and it did work, but as you had mentioned, the above errors or glitch are still present. Its a nice job tho, and I appreciate your effort. Can't wait for a complete working build

You probably need to install the sdkcerts.cab
I am assuming the error is something along the lines of "program cannot be installed because its not digitally signed by a trusted certificate"

I just tried the second version and it works fine with my TomTom 7. But I want to know something, must it always try to plan the route? I had the impression it would just locate the place on a map and that's it. Any chance of an implementation with Google Maps ? I don't want to ask much.
But the other 2 problems are still there. The picture taken is out of place. But GPS works Great

Yes, I am working on getting the google maps implemented into the program. I am hoping to have the other 2 problems fixed soon. I might get the google maps in the next update, but no guarantee.

if you use street view google maps than no work needed. i just used it and it works perfectly.

Finally got a chance to install and try but can't get past the error,
"The file 'HTCFootprint.exe' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
I also have installed the SDKcerts.cab but don't see them listed in the licensing section on the phone.

Anyone happen to know which ROMS currently out there such as Energys, Chamuze etc that have the Marketplace cooked in to the ROM. I was excited to see that the marketplace launched today but no one has seemed to be able to get a cab for it and most people are suggesting you have to get it with it already cooked in to the rom.
Any thoughts on this?

just visit http://client.marketplace.windowsmobile.com/ on the device and it will download the .cab to the actual marketplace.

I went there and all I get is the "Comming Soon" page.
It works for me.
But I can't find the new Windows Live.
Most of the apps are absurdly expensive.
I use Chrome rom and marketplace is cooked in. I just tried it and everything works. when you first run it it will update. i am able to install apps just fine. every once in awhile you get an error saying cant connect but if you hit retry it works fine. MyPhone does not work yet however. i dont think its live yet.

Not sure what's going on -- works here. The cab is built from the package that was included in Da_G's kitchens circa the 21222 builds. Should work on other builds, but who knows ...
Seems more likely to me the problem is that the Marketplace hasn't "officially" launched today. Maybe it's not working in all locations yet.

I'm not getting past the update check either. I was starting to think that I'd need to get a new ROM. I've got the latest Silence ROM (on a Sprint Touch Pro)
Same with TAEL Rom.
I guess we will all have to wait until Microsoft Releases the system tomorrow.
Maybe then it will magically work.
i was able to download the market place last nite and i am able to download apps now. there isnt too many available and there is alot of 19.99$ games which is redic. I am using the newest da_g rom
I've checked it few hours ago. Looks good, but very poor choice of apps - I think that there were no more than 20-30 apps/games available.
My Marketplace was updated already this evening. Windows Live appeared.
It's quite nice looking, but no calendar, and messenger still doesnt appear to support MPOP.

I'm using Arrup's ROM and installed update and a couple programs...worked great..biggest difference with iPhone obviously is the numbers are apps...its almost funny the small numbers for WM vs Iphone.
