Running this RUU will only update your Radio Rom. You will not lose any settings.
These are all in English.
2.x Radio Roms are for use with 2.x Bootloaders only.
They don't work with 1.x Bootloaders (IPL/SPL Versions 1.x). The good news is that since it doesn't dork your BootLoader if you goof you can still reflash with your original Rom and recover your device or use the Cingular 1.09.10 Radio Only Rom included here.
How To Use This RUU Package
1. Select the Radio Rom you want:v1.09.10 from Cingular 1.08 Rom.
v2.25.11 from the leaked Cingular 2.25 AKU 2.2 Rom. Several users have reported that this improves their reception.v2.25.11 from the leaked Test T-Mobile (US) 2.24 AKU 2.3 Rom. It is also listed as version 2.25.11 but the file is not an exact match to the Cingular Radio Rom.
v2.07 from Summiter's Cingular 2.17 AKU 2 Rom, which was made using components extracted from a device with what is believed to be the mysterious Cingular 2.23 AKU 2.2 Rom.
v2.19.11 from the T-Mobile UK 2.21.0.206 Rom Release, for our European Brothers (and Sisters).
v2.19.11 from the T-Mobile Dutch Website, for our European Brothers (and Sisters).
v2.21.4 from the Xda Minis 2.24.4.101 Rom, for our European Brothers (and Sisters).
v2.27.11 Prodigy Radio Rom. As provided by ShogunMark.
2. Download the Zip file.
3. Extract the contents into an empty folder on your PC.
4. Make sure you have established a usb connection with your device (Activesync as guest is okay)
5. Execute the RomUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe
6. Follow the prompts.
Don't worry it won't overwrite your existing Extended Rom, Storage Area or OS so the PDA side of your device will remain untouched.
Just wondering, isnt this the same radio rom thats in the new beta T-Mobile rom?

The version number is the same but there have been numerous reports of better performance with the Radio Rom from the leaked Cingular Rom.
So the answer is Yes and No apparently.
If you're not experiencing noticable issues then why bother flashing it. On the other hand it certianly won't hurt to flash it.

Before I build the "Mr. Clean" AKU 2.3 ROM I did both a binary compare of the T-Mobile 2.25.11 Radio ROM and the Cingular 2.25.11 Radio ROM.
They are *different* files and do seemingly get different reception. In testing on a WIZA100 device, the Cingular version was noticeably better. I haven't gotten around to testing on the WIZA200 yet, but I'm expecting to see the same performance.
As a result of the tests, I included the Cingular version in "Mr. Clean" and kyphur was kind enough to package it separately after people asked for just the Radio ROM.
I downloaded and used the radio update from this thread with no problems it only updated the radio and left my settings intact.
Thanks for the file I need the improved reception

Thanks for the Rom, 4 bars at my desk where I used to have 1.... T-Mo Vario
Well, I just ran the ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe and it completed the installation with my settings intact (in fact, the install only too a minute, whereas the full T-Mobile ROM took well over 5 minutes to complete).
My 8125 is running the AKU2.3 custom Cingular ROM that already had the T-Mo 02.25.11 Radio version. So, I don't have any absolute way to say that the Cingular 02.25.11 installed successfully, guess I'll have to test the signal now
Thanks for the updated Radio ROM

Works OK on KJAM 2.16.9.1 stock
Hi there,
I installed Cingular radio 2.15.11 on K-JAM running stock latest image:
2.16.19.1.
It installed OK, works OK and so far reception seems better.
Thanks for all the effort providing that,
Hal.

I know this goes against conventional thinking, but has anyone tried to flash this to a CID LOCKED device? I'm curious if it will work as it doesn't touch the OS or the bootloader. If it does work it'd be a must have upgrade for pretty much *everyone* out there.
My devices have long since been unlocked so I've got no way of testing it.

Yep it will work. It's really just the initial and secondary program loaders that are affected by the CID.
Thanks, Kyphur, for posting the Radio ROM
Installed w/o any problem, runs also very well
Cheers

cingular radio > tmobile radio
I've tried both and I noticed that the cingular is better. Why? Because with the tmobile one my push email would never sync properly on the mda. The cingular is fast and perfect. How fast you might ask? Well my mda receives the notice of new email faster than my Outlook client. But the original tmobile rom, my signal never dropped below 2 bars. The cingular drops 2 bars but that's 60% signal from the reading I get from Voice command. But I've talked for longer than 10 minutes on my phone and it's worked just fine. Kudos to Kyphur for sharing this with us.

Hey kyphur,
Well, Summiter put in the radio rom from Cingular's 2.25.11, and I tell yah, I'm still suffering from the same problems. the only choice I have left is the original 2.17 radio code, which I guess I'll have to try once I get around to seeing my home computer - been mobile for 3 days, haven't even seen my own grass... sigh ...
AKU2.3 Radio rom based on t-mo ... failed wifi on pre-n
AKU2.3 Radio w/Cingular 2.25.11 ... failed wifi on pre-n
MengesB w/no Wifi on pre-n ... pre-n failed MengesB!

Have you tried a different router? The one thought that pops to mind is that perhaps something in the firmware of the pre-n router isn't completely 802.11b compliant? After all, no 802.11n routers are final yet. It's quite possible there are still bugs on that end.

I know officially the stack on Q.11n isn't official, but the router is set to be compatiable with both G and B flavors of Q.11 sequences. What's more disturbing is that it was working with 1.8.11 WWE (stock). I know the firmware in the router is good, works with a Dell TruMobile Wifi, Moto G Wifi, Centrino internal Wifi, and Broadcom Wifi cards... so we've been around the block with Pre-n connecting on a G and B platform systems - it simply does not like my phone. I do have the G hack enabled through Sum Sum, and tried removing it - no difference.
I haven't tried other G routers, besides my SRX100 router, and even with this one its spotty at best - requies disable/enable occassionally when it 'loses touch' with the AP.
I'm wondering if 2 hours of ethereal logs might be required to find out where in the Q.11 stack stuff is messing up. Networking is my ball of wax, and it doesn't make sense to me if a device ARPs for an address, and the device REPLIES saying, "Yeah sure buddy, here you go: x.x.x.x" and the device simply IGNORES it ... kinda confuses me - like a Cisco 2600 that just came back from repair and the stupid idiot soldered a jumper cause 'it was loose'... ugh... numbskull
has anyone in california had good signal with the 2.21.4 radio rom??

Next question, are you extracting the contents of the zip file into an empty folder? might you have extracted into a folder containing an unhacked version of the updater program and by mistake running it instead of the NoID version?
I unpacked to a new folder.
I think the problem is with the rom that we already have installed that "maybe" is bloking the update ?

Ok, well my problem has been fixed by using the cingular radio rom.

maybe try that one gerard?
I will try it, but I think it's the same that I already used...
Thanks

Go back to WM2003
You can also use the original Provider Package(here you can replace the RadioRom File).
Try to flash the Radio and then revert to WM5 again.
For me it worked.
Last time I had WM5 onmy device I flashed an new radio to see if it worked (was a VERY long time ago).
Have you followed the wiki Radio 1.15 page ?
Thanks for the info!
downgrading to 2k3, updating the radio to 1.15.00.
after that upgraded to 2k5 again.
thanks
by the way what do you mean by ... VERY long time ago....
gr,
ger
Checked wiki and based on my own updates I come up with November 2005.
Hi,
I upgraded a Cingular SX66 unit using maupgradeut_noid and the latest AKU 3.5.2 WM5 ROM. Afterward, I had no radio ROM so I updated to the 1.15.00 release. However, my phone is still unable to make/receive calls or data (with multiple good SIMs.) It appears the radio ROM is having issues with this WM5 package because sometimes on hard restarts the boot screen lists R: and G: as NONE, but after a soft reboot they usually show the correct versions.
I searched and can't find any postings about this type of behavior. Nothing useful to report from the phone other than it says "phone is not ready" and "no service" with a good SIM.
I have several of these PDAs that I want to distribute to my internal staff with WM5 so they don't have to learn WM2003 (all of our other devices are WM5 or WM6.) Any recommendations on a procedure to test the radio ROM or a different combination of OS and radio ROMs?
Thanks for the help.
PS. running getdevicedata.exe yields the following:
PH20B1 WWE A %CID? 5.35.05. 1.15.00 % 4
downgrade to wm2003 and try to flash again radio 1.15 and post the results

Take it easy
all BA HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS YOU DESRIBLE
IF YOU USE WM2003 THE PROBLEM WILL DISAPPEAR~ SO,JUST SOFT RESET
YOUR PHONE EVERY TIME YOU CHANGE YOUR BETTERY!!
just one softreset, and when you need to charge, charge it when it reaches the 40%, etc, just don't take out the battery, or you will have to softreset it again for the radio work.
it is just the same with mine sx66, and i don't care at all.
Thanks for the notes...I kind of learned the soft reset 'fix' on my own, a little disappointing but I guess we're stuck with it. Why would I want to downgrade my phone to 2003? The whole point was to move to WM5 so my users and support team all work with the same interface.
Of course...my next project is to find out why SMSplus works on 8525 phones and not 8125 (standard Cingular OS load.) Might have to upgrade the 8125s to WM6 (sigh)
i have tried the SSPL and it works, i can flash the 3 roms i have found for the breeze
RUU_BREE100_1.13.251.2_1.06.00.10_QtekEUR_Ship_R3
RUU_BREE100_1.32.251.1_1.29.00.10_HTC
RUU_BREE100_1.34.251.1_1.38.00.10_HTCEUR_SHIP
but since i flashed the 1.38 radio rom without using this sspl. whenever i use the sspl i can only flash the rom not the radio. my phone is now stuck on the 1.38 radio which drops calls after about 30 mins and the battery life is really crap, i am on area where u get full 2g or 1 bar of 3g so its doing its trademark searching and killing the battery.
I have tried duttys tool with the radio extracted and put on the SD card and flashed but no joy.
my device is not SuperCID i just use the SSPL to bypass it.
anyone got any ideas how i can flash the 1.29 radio or for that fact any radio to phone instead of the rom?
i've read that many have tried 1.20 radio to solve a few problems but i have no idea how i can flash this. I have tried to make my own rom with the tools here but again they just flash the new OS living the radio 1.38.00.10. i am downloading RUU_Radinly_1.20.31.10.exe and will flash it if i knew how. SSPL just turns around and says invalid ID error 244. so its like the radio isn't designed for this device.
anyone got any idea ?
1.29 is even worse than 1.38... Missed calls in full GSM coverage (4 bars), horrible sound quality (either you or called party can't hear most of the conversation)... Don't even try it!
And concerning the problem not being able to flash new radio:
As I already wrote in this thread, flashing Radio ROM 1.29 (and above) also flashes new Radio Bootloader 0108 (different thing than Phone bootloader) which requires SPL 1.09 (or newer) to flash Radio ROMs.
Current SSPL for Breeze is based on some older SPL which, as you found out, isn't compatible. Until someone creates SSPL for Breeze based on SPL 1.09 or SPL 1.10, you're stuck just like me...
thanks very much for the post explaining it. i have read someone might make a new sspl with the new spl's in mind so as you said, we have to wait and i guess i will. i am however going to send my breeze back to HTC because of the constant dropping of calls whether it is 10seconds or 35 mins, it drops it without fail.
I am trying to upgrade to radio 1.15, but I have been unsuccessful thus far. If I read the wiki right I can perform the upgrade by placing the new radio rom in place of the radio on the original ship rom, but i can't find it for download. I have a BA on the cingular network so I beleive that 1.02 would be the original shipped raio rom. any help is appreciated.
thanks
Try this. This did the trick for me. Just put the device in boot loader, disable usb connections in activesync. and run the exe
ftp://xda:[email protected]_1.15_Type_II/X(M)da3_RadioUpdate1.15.00.exe
Nope, I got a country ID error with that. Thanks though
Need one too.
I need one too. After I upgraded my ROM, the phone is getting worse in term of receiving signal. I used to be able to use it almost everywhere. But now, I hardly be able to use it in the locations with a weak signal (e.g., basement). I remembered that my old radio ROM is 1.02.00 which is the original ROM that came with O2 XDA IIs.
Opps wrong one. Try this one. Just Unrar the file and run the noid update after that.
ftp://xda:[email protected]_1.15_Type_II/BA Radio 115 THIS WORKS.rar
thanks for the help. that worked with no problems.
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/Radio_Roms/
Try them all, especially the ones from the shiped roms on the top of the ftp list
