Flashing Problem only Imge Version apears no Model ID - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I have a M3000 Orange after unlocking it with Lokiwiz03 im trying to flash it but the problem is that I don’t get all the info in the rom update utility I only get this
Image Version : 1.3.1.104
I don’t get the Model ID or the Language.
After continuing with the update with the original Orange utility it goes to Boot mode and then gives me Error 294 :Invalid ID VENDER
And when flashing it with the no-id utility it gives me the same Image Version with out Model ID or Language after pressing the update button it directly gives me ERROR 238 :FILE ERROR
Any one can help me out
Thanks guys

You have SIM unlocked your phone. This allows you to use any SIM card in it.
If you want to flash a non-Orange ROM you must CID unlock your phone. Lokiwiz03 cannot do this.
Lokiwiz02 can CID unlock if the ROM revision is low enough.

i Unlocked it with awizard Lokiwiz02 didnt do it then i flashed with the new RUU working 100 %
But for some resone i still don’t get the Model ID or the Language do you know why ?
thanks for all your help

SInce you never bothered to mention which rom you are using I assume you're flashing one of the many custom roms here. The RUU program has been modified so that it will always allow you to attempt to flash. For this to work it has to believe that you have an older rom installed on your phone.

WM6 and 2.21.4.1

Hi, I need some help here as I cannot get WM6 on my Wizard.
My Wizard has a ROM version of 2.21.4.1 WWE and whenever I try to put WM6 on it, the updater program gives me error 300 and says it needs a new updater.
Now I have been looking around and i know I have to unlock the CID. The Sim is unlocked and I unlocked the CID using Lokiwiz 0.2. While doing this, i noticed it did give an error, but it did actually say it unlocked the CID and produced my backup and a unlocked CID BIN.
I tryed using the updater again and it gave me the same error (Error 300).
Can anyone advise me on what to do as I am completely lost...
Thanks

Let me guess.... you got a G4 device. It can't be CID-unlocked through lokiwiz (don't believe it if it says it did CID-unlock). Look at the G4 thread on howto flash a CID-locked G4! Never flash IPL/SPL because you will brick you're device!

I got exacly the same problem how do you know of you have a 3g or a 4g version and whats the difrence?
You find all answers to your doubts by looking into G4 thread initially. After, you find another sticky thread related.
Just go for it!
good luck!

please get a newer update utility tool, what does it mean?

hello,
i get a message while trying to upgrade my wizard, and it says "please get a newer update utility tool",what does it mean, and how do i bypass it so i can install any rom i want.
thank you
give us some info....
like, what rom are you trying to flash?
Do you have a G3 or G4?
are you CID unlocked? (NOT THE SAME AS SIM UNLOCKED)
What rom are you flashing from?
What are your IPL/SPL, GSM, and OS versions?
What is the exact message and at what point do you get it?
i have a g4 phone,i do not know if it is cid locked or unlocked,i know that i used a few roms in the past from molski.biz. now i have a ipl/spl=2.17.0001 os=2.26.10.2. I try to update the rom,the mobile reboots,i get an rainbow screen, and then in windows it givs me the error message. i am trying to flash wm6 most beutifull, but i will settle with any wm6 rom.
The rom i have now in the wizard is
RUU_Molski.Biz_Faria_AKU3.2-3000_3000_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2-G4

Try flashing the T-Mobile 2.26 rom then upgrading to a custom rom of your choice.
Since this is a g4 phone, unless you have paid IMEI Check to unlock it, its CID Locked (no other way around that at this time)... I would suggest you download the Wizard Love ROM and flash that one. You can search on here for links to it or grab it via PirateBay.
Good luck.

ROM Upgrades do not take effect

I have an i-mate k-Jam running Windows Mobile 5
I have tried a number of ROMS to upgrade to WM6/6.1
The upgrade appears to be successful and the inital screen suggest the upgrade has worked but the setup screens are still WM5 and after setup the device is still running WM 5.
As an example using the XM6r5Lite ROM shows a XDA 6 screen after hard boot but is still running WM5

I read the guide before attempting a ROM upgrade.
Its a G3 device that is unlocked.
None of the trouble shooting points in the guide seem to relate to the problem of the upgrade appearing successful but the device remaining as WM5rather than WM6.
Have I missed something

How did you check that the phone is CID unlocked? You realize there's a difference between SIM and CID unlocking
I am assuming it is CID unlocked as it was purchased SIM free directly rather than from a carrier

Get WST and read the CID block to be sure if it's indeed as what's happening to it looks like CID blocked situation.
I was getting the same problem with a G4 XDA Mini S
i tried hardspl, softspl and then in the end i flashed it using the CID locked guide. I managed to get TNT WM 6.1 on it, but it wont work properly, the GSM info on bootup screen now doesnt show half the time when i boot the phone up, i have reflashed the original O2 rom and it seems to be working, although it wont connect to my wireless. Gonna have another play with it and see what i can find out, will update this thread if i find anything.
I am experiencing a similar problem. I have successfully downgraded the phone to the button rom, but every time I attempt to either flash a new rom or simply upgrade the ipl/spl, only the spl changes (ipl always remains at 1.01) and the new rom never takes.
I have used WST and tried the loki unlocker as well, but the phone just wont seem to flash with new roms.
I have flashed many wizards prior to this and have never run into this problem before.
Any suggestions?
Thanx.

Have you tried latest WST v4.2.2?
I added the possibility to CID unlock even if IPL/SPL values differ. Another member reported a success story with WST and a case like yours.
Yes, I have already tried WST 4.2.2 and it is reporting both CID and SIM is "already unlocked."
In addition, when I follow the steps outlined here [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310831], everything appears to work and all is synchronized until I get to the "install the t-mobile ship rom." When I try to flash that rom, I receive this error after the program puts the phone into bootloader mode...
ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID
This Update Utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your Update Utility.
Also, if I proceed further and attempt to flash the 3.08 ipl/spl, only the spl changes...the ipl remains at 1.01.
That message is clearly a sign of locked CID.
Have you tried to unlock CID anyway?
I have gone through the unlock stage is the Wiki instructions, then installed the T-Mobile WM5 ROM followed by the XM6r5Lite (WM6 not 6.1) ROM.
This time the device has taken the upgrade and initially appears to be working.
Thanks to everybody who replied to my initial post. -

However, I have also followed all the instructions, went ahead and performed the CID unlock (even though WST reported it was already done), but I'm still stuck at not being able to flash any rom above button.
Re-reading my post above, I just noticed the version of ipl/spl - 1.01. I had always thought the oldest version was 1.08? Perhaps that is a clue?
Any ideas?
Thanx.

Sorry to ask again but have you CID unlocked with latest 4.2.2 WST? I added a new feature that has helped another member with locked SPL. And what bootloader values you have exactly?
Yes, I downloaded the latest WST (4.2.2) and even though it reported CID and SIM already unlocked, I went ahead and re-unlocked both with no errors being displayed and successful restarts after each. Currently, my boot screen shows this...
ipl 1.01
spl 1.01
gsm 1.12.10.0
os 1.5.4.2
Unfortunately, when I attempt to load any other rom, the wizard gets hosed...and yes, that is a perfectly acceptable technical term in this case.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if it matters, here's the CID info as read by WST 4.2.2...
Reading CID block...
Calculating CID block sum...
CID checksum: C42E15AD
Decrypted stored sum: 6D00B85291C1F62B
Decrypted calcd sum: 6D00B85291C1F62B
Key index : 59 - Block index: 77
CIDkey: ########
CID IMEI: ###############
CID: 11111111 (SuperCID)
Phone is already CID unlocked!
Thanx again.
Anyone?
Anyone at all?
Deafened by the silence...
Okay, so I guess every single CID unlocker I've tried so far has actually failed, even though they stated they succeeded (and even WST reporting already unlocked). However, when I run the mtty MFC applicaton (r2sd all), it fails every time stating the device is actually NOT unlocked (which is why I'm not able to flash any other roms).
So, knowing that NONE of the CID unlocker programs (that I've found throughout the forums and the ftp) are working on my wizard, what can I do? Are there other CID unlocking programs that could actually "force" the unlock to actually work?
Thanx.

Although, its a sign of CID not unlocked, but if you say,the WST tool reports it as CID unlocked. Which was the official rom on it when you downgraded.from your network sign,it appears you are on T-mobile network,so the official T-mobile shud flash and work on your phone.where did you downloaded the T-mobile Rom ? try to download from the T-mobile official site and check if it works or you can try wizard_love_Rom or xda_minis_launch.Its assumed you are flashing on winXP.

Yes, using WinXP. Tried the love rom, but no go...same as the t-mobile rom. Only found the t-mobile rom on rapidshare...couldn't locate an "official" source for it. Every time I try to flash anything other than the button rom, during the initial boot, the gsm line is missing from the display where the ipl, spl, gsm, and os display normally appears. Then, as the device boots into windows mobile, all interactivity with the device lags...each keypress can take up to 30 seconds to respond. So, I reflash button and all works just fine again. Very strange indeed.
Thanx.

problems wi Miri...

okay, i am aware that i have requested the stock - 'from-the-factory-English' ROM before, and i had it saved to my desktop, however, my $3100 Vaio POS with 64-bit Vista decided to erase half of itself the other day and i ended up losing the ROM for the blackstone English settings.
now that Sony has provided me with a 32-bit recovery dvd set, i am able to resume most normal functions, but now i have the Miri (latest) ROM installed on the cell and every other text i receive is just jibberish - consisting of an alpha-numeric stew, straight out of MS' character map lore.
i would really like to restore the original, English, factory settings to the phone, if possible.
thanks for any & all support (",)
okay -
i think i downloaded the correct stock rom for te phone, but now it gives me this:
error 294: invalid vendor ID
any thoughts or solutions?

That just means the CID of the rom you are attempting to flash does not match the CID of your device. Is your phone an unbranded WWE phone? Or is it branded, i.e. Orange?
Either way, if you want to flash a stock WWE rom to your phone you can even with the CID mismatch. You can use USPL to keep the stock SPL and then flash the new stock WWE rom.
Or, alternatively, you can use HSPL and have a modified and unlocked SPL on your phone so that you can flash any rom anytime you want.
The main difference is with USPL you have to use it every time you want to flash a custom or CID-mismatching rom. HSPL is a permanent (but reversible) solution.
There are plenty of How To threads this should have been posted in.
In short, use USPL when flashing a ROM, or put Hard SPL on first.
Thread Closed.

You'll have to SIM unlock the device to get it to work on your network carrier. There are online sites that charge a small fee and will have your device SIM unlocked in a couple hours to a day. Unfortunately flashing a rom won't SIM unlock the device.
When you get the device go to - Setting - About - More - this will give you the devices Bootloader version, Firmware Revision Number, Radio version and other information such as OS version but those are the important ones you'll need.
The last 3 digits of the Firmware Revision # will give you the network carrier that it's locked to for sure. Bell Mobility = .666
Since its Bell carrier you'll need to download a Bell Mobility Pre-NoDo or NoDo rom to downgrade the SPL and use it with the goldcard method to downgrade the SPL.
To flash a rom you'll have to follow these steps -
1. Downgrade the devices SPL to at or below 3.xxx (which is required to install RSPL/HSPL)
2. Install RSPL and HSPL = Flashing XSPL
3. Flash a custom rom of your choice.
Just follow Shadow's tutorial on downgrading SPL, flashing XSPL and installing a custom rom -

Luckily yes!
You just have to download and install RSPL/HSPL while the device is in bootloader mode.
Read through the DFT XSPL post carefully to avoid damage to the device.
Then download and flash the custom rom of your choice while the device is in bootloader mode

Before you start trying to flash the device... Make sure you have ActiveSync install for windows XP or windows mobile device center for Vista/7 on your PC, this allows for the proper drivers to be installed. Then you'll want to plug the device into your PC into and let the drivers install. Once that's done put the device into bootloader mode and connect it to the PC again and it will install the Qualcomm drivers. This will change the white section in bootloader mode from "Serial" to "USB" and now your ready to start flashing!
i downloaded tried to run xspl following the link but the it says my hd7 model ID is not supported. Mine is a bell hd7 ( just unlocked using codes order online) with information as

error msg when running xspl:
[Error Description]:

If you have phone from this list, but still have this error, please contact with DFT team.

Your device is supported use the Newest version Revision #3 here -
http://htcfanboys.com/download/cotulla/?action=view&file=2942
As far as the rebooting I'm not sure....that can be caused from multiple things. Hopefully after flashing the device it will take care of it.
When in bootloader mode is there any other information displayed on the screen?
Other than
PD29130
SPL 2.16.2250.0

thank you so much for the info. i will try it when i get home. the rebooting problem seems to have lessened after sleeping on it for a night. it's strange though. anyway, i will try to flash the rom to see if it elimates the problem.
yes, on the tri color screen, it shows other lines as well which i don't have a club what they are.
i will let you know what's going to happen .tks again.
it still didn't work. phone is recognized but there isn't 2.16 spl so i choose 2.10. it didn't work, then i tried 2.56 , it still didn't work. after the sussful msg, i took out the battery and then restart the phone going into tricolor state, its still spl, not rspl. any ideas, thanks ...
i just noticed that the tricolor screen has " MNG" in the spl version line. i remember the DFT software says to make sure no MNG is displayed in the message. i guess the DFT method does not work with my HTC HD7. now what i do? thank you,

It should still work even with the MNG.
I would try and run RSPL/HSPL again. Sometimes it doesn't work the first time. Run the RSPL wizard and select the 2.10, The device should stay in bootloader mode and say RSPL, if it doesn't change run the wizard again and it should work. Then while it's still in bootloader mode run the HSPL wizard and select the closest version to your RSPL 2.1
Once you install RSPL don't pull the battery or it will reset and go back to OSPL.
