PUSH EMAIL CAB ALONE.. .. NOTHING ELSE - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

can someone direct me to just the push email cab file .. i do not want any tmobile settings ..as i live in the caribbean .. so i need a cab that will not lock my settings and only make the push email effetive as its greyed out in my comm manager. I am using the tmobile 2.26.10.2 wwe rom .. stripped of all its branding and tmobile settings. Is this possible that i can get that cab file alone ..so that it enables my push email settings ? i do not want any other files with it .. just the cab responsible for the push email .thanks in advance to anyone who can assist me .We in the caribbean use "digicel and cable & wireless.

Did you set it up using activesync first? Mine was greyed out until I set up push email using activesync in the comm manager.

PUSH EMAI LWITH ACTIVE SYN ?
i am not sure how to proceed in that direction.. i do appreciate the speedy response .. does give me something to think abt and play with .. do appreicate a guide as to how to do this ...Much appreciated .

I'm not sure how familiar you are with Push email.. Just want to make sure you understand that it requires synchronizing with an Exchange Server. Specifically, you need Exchange Server 2003, with SP2 I believe.
You shouldn't need any special CAB files or anything though. I have bulldozed my Wizard multiple times, and never needed any CAB for Direct Push.

Direct Push is available with AKU 2.3 and is always on if you have the correct email server settings, which are set in activesync, server settings.

Exchange SP2: PUSH email Problems with Exchange

I know this is a little off topic, but was wondering if anyone has experience running Exchange SP2 with PUSH EMAIL. My hosted Exchange ISP is telling me that they do not support PUSH email (new ActiveSync) because there are major problems with the stability of the release... isnt this BS, I thought once you have SP2 you should automatically have PUSH email.
IDEAS?
they have to enable push e-mail support in Exchange, it's not automatically enabled by default. once that's enabled, push e-mail should work like a charm. as for stability of sp2, that's highly unlikely as i know countless places that are running sp2 and push e-mail JUST fine.
that's not entirely accurate. Direct Push is enabled by default, but they can disable it. It is likely that they have, if they feel that it doesn't work right.

I'm not sure that it is, it's a while since we updated our servers to sp2 but i'm pretty shure you have to put the tick in the box for enable direct push email in the mobile services prefrences before push will work.
Then again it is a while since we updated and I may be mistaken..
Has ne1 here been able to get Push to work? I installed the Exchange service Pack and enabled HTTP push. My WM5 wizard does a manual sync fine via GPRS, but when I check off up to date receipt, it keeps asking me for the phone's SMS number...
Has ne1 encoutered this prob? I wonder if it makes a dif if my Phone OS is French while Exchange server is in English
Thanks

Ours is working fine, It sounds like your setup stil to use the autd way ie. via a sms message or an email 2 sms gateway, have you put the phone in the cradle and synced since installing sp2 and enabling direct push, also we enabled the enforce divice security feature and set a password on the phone.
BTW is you deviced using an updated rom with the push facility (aku2) ? as soon as we updated our devices the divice address feature in activesync was removed.

Good question. Im not sure. My Phone is WM5 with ROM ver 1.3.1.11 FRA and operator version 12.3.5.107. How can I know if it has this AKU2? I though all versions of WM5 were PUSH enabled...
Also, did you have to install a certificate on your phone and server? Ours doesnt have one...
thanks
No only the newest roms for the wizard have the AKU2 update in them they have been officially released in the last few days on Imates ftp, and yes you need a security cert on the server and the phone for it to work if s your own certificat the device will have to be application unlocked to install the cert.
OK, thanks for the info. I guess I need to updgrade my ROM
I saw there are quite a few posts regarding the upgrade for the wizard. Could you recommned me which version you installed exaclty and where you got it? its good to use something tried, tested and true....
(Im on an HTC Wizard, dubbed M300 from Orange)
Thanks
We are using a Beta Test Rom on the tornado (qtek 8310) but there is an official released rom for your device from Imate I think.
Have a quick search for wizard rom
I found this it may be what you need

Many Thanks, I'll try it out
@footang:
Your device has AKU2/MSFP if the connection manager has a Microsoft Direct push button.
You need to set up the activesync exchange connection on your wizard with that button engaged to get direct push with no SMS required. I posted specifics in the Wizard forum.

How to activate Push Email on Qtek 9100??

Hello Everyone,
I just installed the latest Rom to my Qtek 9100 this evening.I wanted to setup the push email in the communication manager section and the button is greyed out? Any idea how to activate the push email feature so it can be set up?
Thanks in Advance!!
All you do si:
start - programs - activesync
once there you have to set up a server source.
Push e-mail works with exchange server, if you haven't got a server do a search on the forum as some people offer a free service or goto www.4smartphones.net they have a subscription service that works well (they do a seven day trial).
Good luck
Use this..
You can use the free service provided by Mail2web.com, they have explained the full process too. I am using it, flawless as of now.
Kerio's latest mailserver, version 6.3.0, also supports activesync and direct push. Running it on my own server for two weeks now with no problems .

Push Email question

I just flashed Dutty's Rom and when I am trying to setup Push Email I am being prompted for a "Device Address" which is either a sms address or a "corporate service provider" I've never had to input this information before.
What do i need to input here?
Any help would be appreciated!
how are you setting up "push email ? what app?
I'm suing activesync and my companies OWA site.
What do you mean by setting it up through OWA? I also have push email and the only info I needed were the server address, my username, pass and port settings.
Can you tell me were exactly the question is asked? I also have Dutty's ROM running, and I want to test if I get the same question. That way I might be able to help you.
If you're trying to use OWA on the Kaiser, try OMA (Outlook Mobile Access). But I think I just misunderstood your question...
You get that question IF you set up your exchange server to also be able to send notifications on SMS.
Unless you need that feature - turn it off in exchange server.

I go to ActiveSync on the phone, then select Menu, and select configure server.
it asks for server address, which i input., Then I hit next,
then eneter my user name, password, and domain, then select next.
Then i chosoe the data i wanted synhronized.
Then hit finish.
I then go to "Schedule", i select the sync during peak times and off peak times settings. and then at teh bottom of the screen i get adjust peak times, and "when new items arrive" both underlined.
I select when new items arrive and this is where it then asks me for my service provider.
That's strange. I use push email and never ran into this problem (AT&T as well). I go through "Mail->Set up new account", but going through ActiveSync should be the same. Make sure your AT&T connection parameters are configured. For me it always happens automatically (with Dutty's and most other ROMs).
Just thinking here: What version of Exchange server are you using? Push Email wasn't introduced since the introduction of AKU2 service pack for Exchange 2003. Could it be that your company is using an older version of Exchange?

Its server side yes.
You should contact your IT-administrator and ask him to investigate this for you.
Its probably just a permission issue.
You could set your activesync manually to be 100% sure.
By unchecking the "look for settings automatically" in the beginning of the activesync wizzard.
That way you are sure you reach the correct mail server.

Exchange Push Mail Setup

I am trying to set up my device for push email from my company exchange server. I am following the instructions but cannot find exchange activesync in the comms manager. I also do not have exchange server in the "In Your e-mail provider" drop down. Am I missing something? Please help. Thanks
Figured out how to set up the exchange activesynch over wifi or 3G. It is not as statd in the manual, you actually have to set it up through activesync. I am still stuck with push email as it is not in my cennection manger menu. Any help?
You would probably need an application like advanced configuration by Schaff to activate the MS Direct Push button in your Comm Manager.
You can find Adv Config using the search feature on the site.

configuring Outlook for OWA

Hi All,
I apologize for posting here for a simple thing. I hv HTC Touch Diamond. I want to configure Outlook for my email, calendar etc with my corporate exchange server. Assuming I dont want to synchronize through activesync on my PC. Because from a PC I want to check mails using OWA. If I am not at my desk I want to receive emails on to my mobile.
I have tried all various ways of configuring it. One search has asked me to enable OMA(Outlook Mobile Access) on my corporate exchange server which is not in my hands.
Using GPRS is there a way I can receive corporate emails on to my HTC Diamond ?

Although your company uses exchange they need to configure OMA on their servers. Although you say they have OWA that doesnt mean it will work on your mobile. they also need to have a specific version/service pack level on their exchange server.
The fact they use blackberrys suggests they havnt configured the OMA part that you need. If they did then your company will be the only ones who can help you as they will need to supply you with the OMA server address (usually different to your OWA one) and in many cases a certificate to use.
There really is nothing we can do, its all down to your companys IT department.
This is what you have to do:
Go to your Systems Administrator and ask him whether it's possible to receive email on your diamond. Minimal requirements are:
1. Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 with SP2 installed
2. OWA and Mobile access enabled for your user account on your corportate network.
3. The root certificate of your Certificate Authority. This can be a third party certificate like Verisign or one from your own CA within your corporate network.
4. OWA certificate. This is probably the same ssl certificate you use when you try to access your corporate email from the internet like https://webmail.corporate.com
You have to import both the root certificate as well as the webmail certificate on your diamond and configure the settings.
I have configured this many times for my users with both Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 and works great.
Good luck and don't hesitate if you need more info.
The others are right in saying that OWA needs to be configured and available. The other snafu is if there is a cert or not... for example, my company does not use a cerrt and had a re-direct... so the real URL is:
http://mail.mycompany.com/exchange
but they publish the URL as
http://mail.mycomany.com
which has a redirect page to the above URL. You need to make sure you have the full URL: http://mail.mycompany.com/exchange when you configure mail and *IF* they have a cert or not... by default I beleive WM6 assumes a cert.
Thanks all for the suggestions. I have asked my company to enable OMA and configure it. But since we are a blackberry shop they said that they cant do it. Mean while I saw BBConnect for Diamond. Can I use this on Diamond to receive emails. Is there anything extra I need to do to work with BBConnect apart from Internet availability on Diamond ?
