i just unlocked my 8125, however it doesnt open up java supported websites as my college's email and stuff .. also i went onto music.yahoo.com and it wouldnt let me play the continuous videos as it would give u an option on the actual computer .. is there a way to get all taht on the 8125 or am i stuck with this???
any help would be greatful

I have just completed a full clean install of my desktop PC and need to install Activesync, but which one?
As you may have guessed by the fact I'm in this forum, I have an Alpine, a Qtek 2020i to be precise.
Other information that might be helpful for you to give me an informed decision is...
I do have WIFI and bluetooth, and obviously the cradle
I run Exchange 2003, full version, fully updated
I do want to connect to Exchange both at home and on the run for email etc.

Come on folk, you guys must be connecting you Alpines with Activesync, well unless cups and string have taken over!
If nothing else please let us know your experiences of the different version from 3.8 to 4.2 of Activesync.

Just upgraded from 3.8 to 4.2 and it kept my partnership so not really any issues there.
Not used it much yet but 4.2 seems alright, no real issues yet.

Well I opted for 4.2 and certainly the basics are working.
However....
I don't know if you use the sync function for music inside Media Player? I sort of did previously, I couldn't use automatic because I'd need one fo Sanyo's new 8GB MMC for that!
However I can't sync music at all now, says that the device may not recognise the format. I'm wondering if it uses Activesync behind the scenes and that is trying to send a slightly newer version of the WMA format that Media Player in Mobile 5 understands?

Nope sorry never used Media syncing, when I do use a HTC device for playing emdia files I've always used TCPMP and just played the files straight off the SD card.
Could try contacting Micros$ft support - you'd have thunk that they'd include backward compatability, but hey I'm just a C/Perl programmer for a living so what do I know!

I have a freind who's machine cant take XP, so still uses win98, but activesync 4.2 wont install this and microsofts site dosnt seem to have it any longer
Can someone upload it for me, so I can get her XDA synced and backed up ?

Just wondering if any of you use active sync and a gps reciever ?
I use my XDA11i daily at work and it is always sync'ed to work lap top .I have been trying out side of work to get a gps reciever to be recognised but no joy and , worst , oftern software says it cant find or open the port?
Any body have this problem ? know of a port manager that works with Win 2003se !!!or a way to see what is connected to each of the ports ?
Ive tried all of the usual things , Beam settings , re booting , compete re install etc but no joy

I have had a few issues with my windows live and i am wondering if anybody can help me. I recently downloaded windows live and i am able to syncronize everything and log onto my messenger via wifi or activesync but not able to through GPRS. I dont know if i may have downloaded the wrong .cab file or havent done something to make it work. I would appreciate any help regarding this subject.

Here is a Windows Live version wich has been fixed by one of our forum members.
This fixed version allows you to use WLM via GPRS, And it'll be displayed on the home screen. Properly i mean

Well i have tried to apply the appication and it did go through however i tried to access Windows Live throught the GPRS but it is only able to access through wifi and activesync... I'm thinking the reason why is because i dont have the T-mobile internet i have the proxy settings and t-zones. i am still able to access any website but not able to get the windows live to work properly... im stumped.
I recently upgraded from a Vario II to a Vario III.
Previously i had been using msn messenger that was preloaded on the vario II for IM and smartirc for accessing various irc servers.
I was on the web and walk plus package and on upgrading to the Vario III kept the plus package.
I have since tried to access irc and havent had any success. It seems to get stuck when looking for the hostname.
It used to do this previously but then resolved by using the ip address, it doesnt manage this on the new handset. I have since tried the sim card back in the Vario II and havent been able to get irc to work again.
Any ideas if this is a software, hardware or service issue, or indeed how i can check. I've called tech support at T Mobile but they never seem to understand what irc even is.....
On the subject of IM programs after reading several good threads on the subject here i've tried Fring, Agile, Slick and Palringo.
Fring tries to log in but never manages it.
Agile - i couldnt seem to find a version to work on the Vario III
Slick - i input the details and it says initialising but never gets any further
Palringo - input the details and it tries to log in but then says it failed as the log in details were incorrect, after several tries i'm pretty sure i didnt type it in wrong every time...
I tried the sim back in the Vario II and i can still get messenger to work on there....
I appreciate this is all a bit long winded but any help would be gratefully appreciated.
If you need any more info to properly help just let me know.

i'm sad to say that i failed the test on Palringo.....didnt realise i had to register with the site itself so that now works fine.....

I first want to say that I have read this forum until I thought My eyes would bleed before posting any question.
I have a cingular 8125 (Wizard) that I recently upgraded to CR96 Touch HD Version 6.5.0.1.7 RC3 and I love the rom for the most part.
After installing it, I had internet access until just a few days ago. I assumed that it was that I was still running the old Cingular config file Cingular_Wap_Medianet_MMS_Settings.cab file that I have used for years, and maybe AT&T was trying to get rid of there old settings. I have searched the site, and searched for the settings to configure the connection.
I did not find a cab file for the wizard, but found the settings and manually entered them. I could not connect, nor could I access the internet.
I then located the htc HTC_Network_Wizard_Kaiser.CAB file, and tried running it, and could not find where it installed a program to run, nor did I see that it configured a connection for me. So, Back to reading.
I finally found an AT&T_Wap_MEdiaNet_MMS_Settings.cab file that actually allowed my phone to connect to the internet for my e-mail from my work. I still however cannot access the web. I thought maybe it was caused by an registry setting that I changed trying to move the bulk of my mail to the SD card. So, I did a hard re-set on the phone. I still however am only able to get the e-mail without web browsing access.
I have not been able to locate another person that has had this issue. Please help.

I also want to say that I have 90% signal strength, and am still unable to connect to the web.
does anyone know where I can find the ]HTC_Network_Wizard for the Wizard phone?
Does this mean that no one knows, or that I just did not ask correctly?
Could someone please send me the HTC_Network_Wizard for the Wizard file? I will beg if needed.

hi guys something stange happends , after i flash 3 times and insert 3 times my cd key form windows live , when i try using market place say this :
set up acount : i aggre
creating acount....
and now say this : cant set up your acount ,
Either xbox LIVE or marketplace for windows mobile isnt offred in your contry/region .Please check back later..
is mabybe because we cant insert more than 3 times the cd key?? or out ?? , allready today i used marketplace ..

i've used my key at least 4 times without problems.
Are you creating a new account each time?
Maybe u create new live account each time.
I'm use my account at least 5 times and never error 4 me.

In contry/region I select Taiwan that haven't market error 4 me.
When I get key ,I create a new live id and choose US.
i had a similar issue with just activating the phone itself. Im from america but deployed in afghanistan with a german ISP for LAN/WiFi. they have Afghanistan service providers for cell which i have that offer GPRS connections for data altho it can be pricey to use. So i tried activating phone over wifi connection and it would not work, neither loading marketplace, however i have no issues accessing it on my laptop via LAN??? i dont know makes no sense to me. I thought maybe it was the ROM, but then i attempted to activate the phone via data connection on phone and it worked flawlessly including marketplace. Not sure if this helps you or anyone who may have a similar issue.
also if this solution has been posted else where i guess im not a very good searcher because i didnt find anything on it. Figured id try every last thing before asking for help and thankfully i figured that out on my own =) hope this helps someone.
I got a code from norway when I said i had a HD7, the dont sell the HD7 in Norway...
And the Activation key still works, but you need to use a US live account to get all features.
