i have a question. I want to downrade my MDA Vario from version 2.26 to 1.16 and i want to know how to do that. Please some one can help me. I have tryed to search but i couldnot find anything.

I take it you want to downgrade to an official ROM? Only way I know of is to downgrade to Button's 1.05 and then you can go install the downgraded ROM.

I have been reading these forums for about a month now. I finally bought a unlocked MDA that I am currently using with cingular. I think my phone is CID locked don't really know. I want to upgrade the rom it still has 1.8.10.2 WWE Rom, It has 01.09.10 for the radio rom. I tried to update to the newest Qtek 9100 rom but it gave me a error on the updater. Can I update to the newest T-mobile rom and not have it locked back up? Please help I tell me what to do.

Don't load the new tmobile version...download the 8125 ROM from here:
http://www.htcamerica.net/support/cingular_8125.html
It will work and make the phone a Cingular ROM phone. I did it today and it's awesome.
If you decide to upgrade the ROM to cingular, when you get to the end of the progress bar and it seems to stop for a long time...wait longer!!! It will work.

could someone please help me out and give some advice?
I have a CID & SIM locked Dutch MDA Vario G3 with IPL/SPL at 2.21
I would really like to upgrade my ROM for getting rid of the tmobile stuff AND speed it up.
I'd like to know the following:
1) Can I upgrade a locked DUTCH vario to the Official tmobile 2.26 USA software without hacking or is this prevented as well?
2) I read stories about CID unlocking a G3 2.21 being possible AND being Impossible ..... which is it?
3) Can I downgrade my phone SAFELY to the custom ROM on this forum, I read about success stories but not for everyone .... what makes it work sometimes and does it matter that it will downgrade the IPL but NOT the SPL?
4) Can I or can I NOT just flash a G4 ROM over my G3 phone and leave the locked IPL/SPL as it is?
5) is there a disadvantage to NOT unlocking it and just flash a G4 ROM? what would I be missing out on? can I upgrade to 2.26 official and then flash a G4 ROM and have the same end result?
please help me out on this, I am ready to flash my phone but would not like to brick it since it is just a month old.

i trie craptree's guide, and I can read back all relevant data from my locked vario, at 2.21 I just can't write it back, so that's a nogo either.
any advice? G4 ROM or downgrade?
I just got my T-Mobile MDA in the mail and searched the forums for my IPL/SPL with no such luck. I was looking at a Custom 2.26 ROM but it requires 2.xx to install.
Do I need to upgrade with another official ROM and then run this?
PS. I already CID Unlocked my phone with loki

So the 1.08 is the original ROM?
Are these ROMs available for DL anywhere unofficially? I want to flash my device, but don't want to wait a week for a cheap mini-SD card to come in the mail... anybody have any suggestions? Is this ROM even worth backing up being as aged as it is?

Just check your device if it is G3 or G4, then either Unlock or HardSPL/SoftSPL your device and flash one of the Wizard English WM5/WM6 ROMs available.

If you have downloaded official Rom from it's website and still can't upgrade then use the 'ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID' replace it with the ruu in the official rom,you can get this from the below link.:-

i,ll try to update but language is still russian an ROM is still same.
I download thes file: RUU_NoID.exe, then i download an oficial ROM, then i replace the original ROM's RUU with RUU_NoID. operation begin, but after and of this nothing change.
ha can i change language for English? can anyone help me an give me a links of this files vich i can use???
my IPL/SPL is 2.16 and i think it is G3???

Well,I'll suggest you go for the second option,unlock your phone and upgrade to any latest wm6 custom build Roms.Once you get your phone unlocked,it stays unlocked and gives you the opportunity to keep on upgrading to the latest Roms and features.Read the stickies on unlocking and upgrading and do it correctly,I'm sure you'll have much more benefits and enjoyment.

ok,grrrrrr8,if you have managed to downgrade to ipl/spl 1.xx,its time to SIM/CID unlock the phone,read the 'definitive guide for unlocking by Dr.Puttingham and download the lokiwiz-2b tool and do the method exactly as stated in the guide to Sim/CID unlock your phone,after successful unlock upgrade to ipl/spl 2.xx by downloading and flashing T-mobile 2.26 to the phone,only then you can upgrade to any latest wm6 rom,as its required to have CID unlocked phone and ipl/spl 2.xx for upgrade to wm6.

Ages ago I upgraded my G4 wizard to WM6.1. Now it turns out I need to put it back to WM5 - but can't find a RUU to use.
The original ROM was from O2, but that is not vital. Does anyone know where I can get a suitable RUU from? I found one that would, I think, only work with a G3 device, but have not found one yet I can use...

I thought I had found one, but the RUU complains that it is the wrong version (Error 300) and I get nowhere. I still have WM6.1 working fine... how infuriating :0p
Well,as you say its a G4 and upgraded to wm6.1,ok
First,how did you upgrade to wm6.1,which method did you apply to upgrade,was it SoftSPL or HardSPL ?
If you applied SoftSPL,then,just simply download official stock rom and flash it,it'll work,but if you applied HardSPL and the IPL/SPL are changed,then first you'll have to Remove HardSPL,revert back to Original Official IPL/SPL of the carrier and then you'll be able to reflash wm5,ok
Let me warn you here,if the phone is HardSPL and you flash any Official stock rom without removing HardSPL first,will 'Brick' your phone.

It works for me & now I'm using WM5 Wizard Love Rom with CID LOCKED.
