CID Unlocking question...

Hi,
I have a dutch HTC wizard/qtek 9100, with the AKU 2 NLD ROM.
I tried CID unlocking but noticed that didn't work with AKU 2,
Is it possible my phone isn't cid-locked? Is there a quick way to check?
How can I downgrade to an older rom version and what file should I use,
I tried this one: "RUU_Prodigy_1030710_110_10410_Qtek_NLD_Ship.exe"
but after restarting my wizard and loading the bootloader the update program gave an error claiming that it can only UPgrade to newer versions...
I suppose I cant use the wwe version or can I?

As written before, u need AKU 1 to CID unlock your phone..the only way to be sure is to unlock again. Use buttons rom.. downgrade to that... unlock the phone.. install the rom again so the IPL and SPL are the same..then you can switch to whatever rom you want. How ever, you havent shown what type of Wizard you have whether its a G3 or a G4..the above method is what i used for my G3 Wizard

I have a g3 wizard,
so I can use that rom, I don't need a dutch version or something else?

1. Thank-you for posting in a new thread and not in a ROM release thread.
2. Do you have a G3 or G4 (what is your IPL/SPL?)
2a. If you have a G3 read the Sticky post The Definitive Guide to Unlocking & Rom Upgrading G3 Wizards.
2b. If you have a G4 log onto the IMEI pay site (links all over the place) and pay to get your phone unlocked.
3. IF you have a G3 rom you must downgrade to CID unlock. It isn't possible to CID unlock from AKU2 or higher (read the sticky, it tells you what you need to do)
4. The best thing to do if you are unsure is to just repeat the unlock procedure. It won't hurt a thing if you are already unlocked, but will unlock you if you are locked.
5. Don't do anything flash related until you know for sure, beyond a doubt which version of Wizard you have (G3 or G4) If you have a G4 and use G3 procedures you WILL most likely ruin your device.
6. You won't get this error if you follow the steps in the correct order from the upgrade guide.
7. Good Luck

With your G3 just follow the steps, in order, from the sticky and you should be able to end with whatever ROM you choose. Some of the steps may not make sense but, they are necessary and prevent common issues if followed correctly.

Well, I do have a G3 so I can follow the tutorial,
ipl and spl are 2.18,
only question left, CAN I downgrade to the wwe rom in the tutorial? that's what I wanna know, because I now have a nld rom, can I flash to the wwe rom in the tutorial without CID-unlocking?

i have mda vario whit spacification
ipl/spl 2.26
os 2.26
gsm 2.25
when i flash to crossbow every fine up to 99% but after get error 302 some communication problem so i cant flash to crossbow then i flash to t-mobile rom and after that try again but same error after 99% plz help me how to solve this problem

Did you CID unlock? If so how did you do it? Have you flashed any other custom Roms? Are you using XP, Vista or something else?
I bet you are not CID unlocked and that is the source of your issues.

then what to do to cid unloc i used lockiwiz and my mobile is g3 and i use windows xp sp1 plz now tell me plz thanks in advance

The best way to help yourself is to avoid this 'crying for help' posts and read old posts where billions of users had problems too.
Anyway, (to avoid being acused of flaming newbies), you must first check if your phone is CID unlocked for which you can use this tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295038) and in case it isn't you must dowgrade it to a 1.x SPL (don't ask me where to get them as there are a lot of external links in Google), CID unlock it and then move on to the higher (customized) ROMs

Did you downgrade to button rom fist? If not... you're still CID-locked even if lockiwiz tells you it was succesfully. Follow this STICKY:

I want to upgrade my device to the latest available ROM and want to install WM5 or WM6a or Vista on it.I searched on the forum and found too many articles and m really confused how to start and wat to choose.I never upgrade my device before and m newbie in it.
Plz if anyone can suggest me the exact links and the tutorials posted on this forum.Also how could i know if my device is CID Unlocked?

first,plz always post full data of your phone,although you have posted the Device info,but you have not posted the actual data IPL/SPL...? of your phone,which determines the DOC chip of your phone,so post the IPL/SPL...?
As you say that you are using wm5,it must be T-Mobile official Rom,which come pre-installed on the phone,therefore your phone is SIM/CID locked.
In order to upgrade to a newer and latest wm6 Rom,it's necessary to first SIM/CID unlock your phone.
Since you say that you have a G3 device,then to read and understand how to unlock a G3 with IPL/SPL 1.xx(AKU 1) device,check the below link:-

hi...my IPL is 1.08 and SPL is 2.26..my Phone is CID locked..but SIm is unblocked as i can use any sim card with this mobile...i downloaded the CID unlock utility and now want to perform CID unlock process.But wat to do after that? from where i can download the excat and updated Rom for my device.And can i use any Rom on my device? like O2 Rom or other Rom available in this forum?? Plz advice...

First of all you'll have to CID unlock your phone to upgrade to any latest wm6 roms.Read and fully understand the guide and procedure of CID unlocking in the thread which I already gave you in the above post already,you'll find there all the instructions and lokiwiz02b unlocking tool download and all the Roms (Button's Rom 1.05 and T-mobile 2.26) download links,which are required to cid unlock your device.Only after Cid unlock you'll be able to upgrade to any wm6 Rom.
But if you like to have the wm5 rom,which already installed on your device then there's no need to unlock and upgrade to another wm5 rom,as you already got one.but if you want to upgrade to wm6 rom than I'm afraid you'll have to cid unlock the device and upgrade.Once again I'm posting the link for the guide to unlocking:-

Well! as i see your phone has an IPL 1.08 and SPL 2.26,and it's required to downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx,therefore as you already have IPL 1.08,I think you shudn't have to flash Button's Rom 1.05 to downgrade to IPL 1.xx, you can download lokiwiz02b and try to cid unlock,it may be successful, but as it shows SPL 2.26,it may not be successful as both IPL/SPL 1.xx are required,but if it doesn't cid unlock with IPL/SPL 2.26 at first attempt,than you'll have to Flash Button's Rom 1.05 to downgrade to both IPL'SPL 1.xx

Does that mean that ive got a G4 and do i need to unlock the CID
After it is complete, your device will automatically reboot. The IPL version will be 2.21.0001 and the SPL will be 2.21.olip. If you see this then HardSPL was successfully flashed to your device.

* I've read the post from lokowiz regarding the CID unlocked. Will this work for me in order to for me to flash it with WWE rom?
* How does it goes?CID unlocking and then WWE rom flashed?

Downgrade or change ROM, how?

I have dopod 838 which i already upgraded to WM6 (for the first time, since I use PDA ) I'm following the upgrade tutorial from the wiki and I use the WM 6.0 ROM made by mfrazzz.
my question is how to downgrade to WM5 (original from dopod asia)? I already download the ROM but I'm not sure whether i need to downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx like when I'm upgrading it to WM6?
I see another new ROM is released, and i want to switch to that ROM, must I re do all the steps I done when upgrading from WM5 to WM6?
note the IPL/SPL is 3.xx on my dopod 838.

Never go from 3.xx to 1.xx as the SPL might get locked. Stop at 2.xx before downgrading further.
WM5 can work with 1.xx and 2.xx but WM6 only with 2.xx and 3.xx

oh no.. I did re-flash it back to 1.xx per instruction on the wiki. I then upgrade the ROM to T-Mobile ROM which is 2.xx, after that upgrade again to 3.08 then upgrade to WM6.1
the upgrade is success, do I need to check for something? as you said that the SPL might locked?
so.. in case i want to change/downgrade ROM i just need to re-flash to T-Mobile ROM which is 2.xx?

Sometimes,if you directly downgrade from 3.08 to 1.xx,SPL gets locked and it's very difficult to bring it to 1.xx,so its advised,if your phone is already CID unlocked and upgraded to 3.08,don't downgrade to 1.xx again,but if you want to reflash a new rom and want a solid base like T-mobile,then just downgrade to 2.xx,avoid going down to 1.xx.

wizard stuck on bootloader

i had problem with wizard. i tried to upgrade rom, but i cant. it stuck on 99% and gives an error. i think it had cidlock, but i cant unlock it from bootloader.

Download official stock rom of your carrier and flash it in bootloaders to recover back to its default working status,then if its a G3 phone, downgrade to ipl/spl 1.xx by flashing Button's Rom and SIM/CID unlock with lokiwiz02b,but if its a G4 ,it cannot be CID unlocked but can be upgraded to wm6 through 'SoftSPL' or 'HardSPL'.

I can update my rom completely but after restart freeze on ipl-spl screen
And I can’t warm reset it says FORMAT PARTITION FAIL
I try to downgrade my rom but spl freeze on 2.17 – I try button rom and Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102
I can’t find any official qtek rom for test
And I also try R2SD all with romupdate115 it not work
help please

You got to have a CID unlocked phone to upgrade to any wm6 Rom.Sometimes SPL do get stuck up at 2.xx while downgrading with Button's Rom,it takes a couple of tries to get it downgraded to 1.xx.Flash the button's rom a few times more till it gets downgraded.You can only CID unlock your phone,if it has IPL/SPL 1.xx.

Don't use those ROMs as they are for G4!!!
If flashing original ROM doesn't solve the case then you'll have to buy the unlock program from IMEI-check company.

I don’t want WM6 only back to normal
And serious problem is
I have FORMAT FAT FAIL for warm reset. In this case its possible hardware (disk on chip) has a hardware problem?

No. the problem is simply of messed up firmware. I believe that the SPL tries to load the OS but it must be at a different address and never starts to load.
The IMEI-check tool will simply CID unlock your device. You still have to do the "r2sd all" procedure...
