Help about Tmobile MDA Vario Rom upgrade - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading
hi all..i have a T Mobile MDA vario (HTC Wizard) with the following specifications;
1.Rom Version 1.8.10.2 WWE
2.Rom Date 12/10/05
3.Radio Version 01.09.10
4.ExtRom Version 1.8.10.104
My device is G3 and WM5 installed on it.
I want to upgrade my device to the latest available ROM and want to install WM5 or WM6a or Vista on it.I searched on the forum and found too many articles and m really confused how to start and wat to choose.I never upgrade my device before and m newbie in it.
Plz if anyone can suggest me the exact links and the tutorials posted on this forum.Also how could i know if my device is CID Unlocked?

first,plz always post full data of your phone,although you have posted the Device info,but you have not posted the actual data IPL/SPL...? of your phone,which determines the DOC chip of your phone,so post the IPL/SPL...?
As you say that you are using wm5,it must be T-Mobile official Rom,which come pre-installed on the phone,therefore your phone is SIM/CID locked.
In order to upgrade to a newer and latest wm6 Rom,it's necessary to first SIM/CID unlock your phone.
Since you say that you have a G3 device,then to read and understand how to unlock a G3 with IPL/SPL 1.xx(AKU 1) device,check the below link:-

hi...my IPL is 1.08 and SPL is 2.26..my Phone is CID locked..but SIm is unblocked as i can use any sim card with this mobile...i downloaded the CID unlock utility and now want to perform CID unlock process.But wat to do after that? from where i can download the excat and updated Rom for my device.And can i use any Rom on my device? like O2 Rom or other Rom available in this forum?? Plz advice...

First of all you'll have to CID unlock your phone to upgrade to any latest wm6 roms.Read and fully understand the guide and procedure of CID unlocking in the thread which I already gave you in the above post already,you'll find there all the instructions and lokiwiz02b unlocking tool download and all the Roms (Button's Rom 1.05 and T-mobile 2.26) download links,which are required to cid unlock your device.Only after Cid unlock you'll be able to upgrade to any wm6 Rom.
But if you like to have the wm5 rom,which already installed on your device then there's no need to unlock and upgrade to another wm5 rom,as you already got one.but if you want to upgrade to wm6 rom than I'm afraid you'll have to cid unlock the device and upgrade.Once again I'm posting the link for the guide to unlocking:-

Well! as i see your phone has an IPL 1.08 and SPL 2.26,and it's required to downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx,therefore as you already have IPL 1.08,I think you shudn't have to flash Button's Rom 1.05 to downgrade to IPL 1.xx, you can download lokiwiz02b and try to cid unlock,it may be successful, but as it shows SPL 2.26,it may not be successful as both IPL/SPL 1.xx are required,but if it doesn't cid unlock with IPL/SPL 2.26 at first attempt,than you'll have to Flash Button's Rom 1.05 to downgrade to both IPL'SPL 1.xx

Does that mean that ive got a G4 and do i need to unlock the CID
After it is complete, your device will automatically reboot. The IPL version will be 2.21.0001 and the SPL will be 2.21.olip. If you see this then HardSPL was successfully flashed to your device.

- Im a newbie in this... so below are some of my questions... hopefully this could be answered.
* I've read the post from lokowiz regarding the CID unlocked. Will this work for me in order to for me to flash it with WWE rom?
* How does it goes?CID unlocking and then WWE rom flashed?
* Where could I possible get a WWE rom for this type of model?
* is there by any chance a site or screenshots i could get to do all of this aside from the site http://www.mdahacks.com/item/2006/6/7/unlock-your-htc-wizard-mda-8125-phone-using-lokiwiz ?

hello guys , should i upgrade the bootloader of my k jam , before i upgrade to the final faria ROM WM6 ? (i had downgraded thr rom as i had an unlocking problem ) my phone boot screen says : IPL 1.01 SPL 1.01 GSM 01.01.10 OS 1.1.9.3 SIM & CID unlocked any other cautions ?

Click to collapse Do not flash any custom rom until you flash a 2.xx official carrier rom (Step 17 of the Dr. P unlocking guide.) You will have all sorts of issues. Try either the Cingular 2.25 or T-Mobile 2.26. If you flash a custom 2.xx or higher rom with 1.xx bootloaders your GSM will not work, your phone will not charge and the PDA will be very sluggish.

You wont find the ROMS itself anymore. Thanks to M$. You can find a lot about good ROMs and customisations. You should CID and SIM unlock your device, use the Wizard Service Tool for that Then choose (WWE= English) and find the ROM you want (I use a modified official AKU 3.3, originally from T-Mobile Croatia) Then Flash your device.
I just succesful install WM5 English version, and with IPL and SPL 3.08. I try with install many kind of WM6 but nothing happen, still remain WM5. What should I do? My O2 mini S info: IPL 3.08 SPL 3.08 GSM 01.12.10 OS 1.5.4.2

does IPL and SPL have to been 1.01 only IPL is 1.01 PL wont change
hi you need to : 1 Dowgrade rom 2 Unlock CID 3 Upgrade to 2.26 t-mobile in order to get the best Radio 4 Upgrade to wm06 Notice : Unlocking CID has 2 methods (( it's up to your device, G3 or G4 )) good luck

Just check your device if it is G3 or G4, then either Unlock or HardSPL/SoftSPL your device and flash one of the Wizard English WM5/WM6 ROMs available.

i,ll try to update but language is still russian an ROM is still same. I download thes file: RUU_NoID.exe, then i download an oficial ROM, then i replace the original ROM's RUU with RUU_NoID. operation begin, but after and of this nothing change. ha can i change language for English? can anyone help me an give me a links of this files vich i can use??? my IPL/SPL is 2.16 and i think it is G3??? plz today i must do this i need help!!! Well,I'll suggest you go for the second option,unlock your phone and upgrade to any latest wm6 custom build Roms.Once you get your phone unlocked,it stays unlocked and gives you the opportunity to keep on upgrading to the latest Roms and features.Read the stickies on unlocking and upgrading and do it correctly,I'm sure you'll have much more benefits and enjoyment. Click to collapse ok,grrrrrr8,if you have managed to downgrade to ipl/spl 1.xx,its time to SIM/CID unlock the phone,read the 'definitive guide for unlocking by Dr.Puttingham and download the lokiwiz-2b tool and do the method exactly as stated in the guide to Sim/CID unlock your phone,after successful unlock upgrade to ipl/spl 2.xx by downloading and flashing T-mobile 2.26 to the phone,only then you can upgrade to any latest wm6 rom,as its required to have CID unlocked phone and ipl/spl 2.xx for upgrade to wm6.
